Harveys of Halifax in Calderdale

We visited Harvey’s today and had the Christmas menu. The Salmon and Prawn Cornets were amazing. The actual Christmas meal was delicious. Don’t hesitate to visit Yorkshire’s only remaining family store! The great prices and the fantastic selection of gift ideas is absolutely fantastic! Thank you Harvey’s for a real Christmas treat!!

Attended a Christmas meal event in the restaurant at Harveys of Halifax yesterday... it was amazing! Exquisite 3 course meal along with a world famous Bublé tribute... perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit 🎄

I visited Harvey’s today to get some presents for my grown up children. I always get them socks and soap sets as i find these are very good quality. I found two boxes of really nice socks which I was walking with. Suddenly a lady popped out of nowhere and took them out of my hands and said “ I will put these in the counter”. I told her I wasn’t sure if I wanted to change my mind but she took them off me. This really made me think she must of thought I was going to steal them. It quite upset me she did this as it’s never happened to me before. I was going to look round for more items but I felt quite uncomfortable. I bought the socks and left feeling quite judged and intimidated. I do like Harvey’s and love the merchandise but this lady really put a damper on my visit.

Popped in for a bag for my holiday and felt a bit overwhelmed with all the choices. The assistant was really helpful but not in the slightest bit pushy. I'd normally feel pushed into buying something more expensive than I needed, but I didn't and was really happy with her advice and just helpful chat!

Pleasant restaurant and nice food. However the tables are left uncleared for far too long. My last visit was not my only experience of this. I sat at a table and had to clear myself, an elderly lady with a walking stick sat at the next table and had to clear a space to eat herself. When I left the tables had still not been cleared despite many staff walking past. Not pleasant.

Always have a coffee in thecafe every time I go and there's always something new to look at

I’ve been in today to take my daughter to get her ears pierced. I can’t rate the lovely lady who did it any higher. She was absolutely lovely, professional and worked to an extremely high standard. Beautiful shop and professional well trained staff!

I booked a personal shopper experience on the 10th May after attending your workshop the week before. I booked in with the delightful Samantha. I am not a lover of shopping but Samantha had already picked the clothes for me thankfully. For the next hour an half plus, I had the most enjoyable time being pampered and made to feel good about myself. I would like to say a big thank you to Samantha and Rume. We have just had a wonderful experience shopping in Harvey’s. We came to find an outfit for one of our party and the ladies who served us were so friendly and helpful. Special mention to ladies in the bra department who fitted us all with a bra and treated us to a glass of Prosecco. We felt very special and were looked after very well.

A great department store in Halifax with many different products including clothing and household items. They have some great suits there too and plenty of great offers where you can make savings

Great family owned store in the heart of Halifax. Lots of designer brands. Very friendly staff who are happy to help. Restaurants, toilets and breastfeeding friendly. Wheelchair friendly. I would highly recommend.

Highly-recommended long-established family store with wide selection of quality kitchenware, men's and women's clothing, bedding and toiletries. Excellent hot meals and cold snacks in the licensed 2nd floor restaurant which can get busy but is large enough to accommodate everyone.

Expensive .... dead head staff ... not intrested in you unless your buying and spending ... always seem to be looking down on you ....

I always enjoy shopping at Harveys. Lovely products & the staff are always great in particular Natalia who is always super helpful and friendly.

Couldn't go to Halifax without a visit to Harvey's. My favourite department store with wonderful staff. Only went for coffee today but you have to have a browse on the way up to the restaurant and as almost always i bought something i didn't know i needed until i saw it. 🙄

Didn't have a stripy scarf. But lots if other things you might wish to buy.

Type of tea bags were horrible and weak, change for something stronger. Tomato sauce was also not good. Cleaning tables was slow and not spray cleaned. Used old rags.

Lovely, like where my posh nan ( you know the one- we all had a posh nan and a common nan) used to take me on a Saturday after Saint and Greaves had finished and Final Score had started. I don't know what she bought, but I was always in trouble. If I want designer gear in Halifax, here is where I'd go.

This is one of the last true traditional department stores with the best up to date current fashion brands,from perfume to bags to clothing and bedding all high quality,the men’s department has a great range of Gant,Barbour,Levi,Pringle and many others.Defo my go to shop for the best quality

What a little gem this café is. Just had THE BEST full English breakfast. £9.90 for 2 sausages, 2 bacon, hash brown, tomatoes, beans, mushrooms, toast and pot with 2 cups of tea... arrived within 5m a d was all cooked to perfection! I don't normally write reviews but this was so good its worth mentioning. Just fantastic!

A truly wonderful experience here from start to finish. Staff, all extremely helpful and pleasant. All of them love their job, all said it was a fantastic place to work. Both ladies in lingerie were fabulous with my 85 years young mum. Thanks again to everyone who made mum feel heard and human. A family company, still in business and may that continue well into the future. I shall bring mum here before any other store. Restaurant was absolutely buzzing too. We had soup and a coffee as there was a 45 minute wait for other choices off the extensive menu. Proof of the popularity. Soup was extremely nice. Staff very pleasant and happy to have a quick 2 minutes to ask if you'd enjoyed your food. I honestly can't praise all the staff highly enough. Well done Harveys of Halifax.

Less variety than expected. Mostly clothes, handbags and shoes. Cafe seemed expensive so didn't visit.

Went to Harvey's for afternoon tea with my husband today. Lovely staff, good layout of store and an amazing afternoon tea! Beautiful finger sandwiches, scones and cake. Good price and cosy restaurant.

I absolutely love going to Harveys I always treat myself to something on a Saturday from the store whenever I’m in Halifax I also have lunch there I then have a smooch around Halifax and return later for coffee and cake at the store Wonderful place and really on trend I work for the NHS and Harvey’s give a discount to NHS staff unlike another store in Halifax Staff are great Well done and Thank you xxx

What a lovely store to shop in. I am pleased to be able to say it is the nicest department store for miles. The staff in every department are so helpful and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Got to love Harveys. Best shop for miles around for clothes, shoes, gifts etc. They seem to pack alot into the store without it feeling cluttered. With cheap parking very near by it's always worth a visit. Great cafe as well at very reasonable prices.

Nice large store in the middle of Halifax, however, since the ownership has changed I find things, especially clothes, are cheaper. Staff were mostly helpful although most were stood chatting to each other as the store was very quiet.

My husband and I, along with my godaughter went to Harveys for lunch today (27th Sept). We ordered our food at 12.40pm but did not get our food until 1.25pm, a 45 minute wait!! They did apologise, saying they were 'busy' but we think they had forgotten our order. Will think twice before visiting Harveys restaurant in the future! The food, when it arrived was nice.

Visited Harvey's today to return an item. Very frosty, unprofessional, abrupt unfriendly reception from a couple of members of staff. Felt very uncomfortable, wasn't put at ease at all. Not visited for sometime. Don't think I will will be back anytime soon, if this is how the staff are now. Staff need training in customer service & need to bring they nice personalities to work, for dealing with the public. Shame.

Thoroughly enjoyed several hours browsing the store. Will definitely be visiting and shopping again. Was warm, lovely selection of pop music being played, assistants almost melting into the background. However the restaurant let it all down. We ordered fish and chips, almost £10 a meal. Mushy peas we're very runny. Chips are frozen not fresh made. Not sure what fish it was but didn't taste of much. The batter was like cardboard and raw inside. The manager did provide us with another fish and chips meal after we complained but in all honesty it still wasn't cooked thro. Was also quite greasy. If we do venture in for food again we'll probably just order a panini. Staff all very nice tho. Has a good reputation generally so could be a purchasing mistake?

I was invited to attend this prestigious event. The first since 2018. Val presented the show with a friendly and informative manner. The models were a treat to watch. No one would know that these ladies were not professionals. The shoes and boots were displayed with style and humour and a glass of fizz and goody bag completed the event.

I needed a gift for my adult sons birthday & eventually asked at the Clinique counter for some advice. The assistant was fab , helped me to choose & l left feeling that she was genuinely pleased to have helped me. The atmosphere in the whole perfumery was comfortable & relaxed. I rarely visit Harvey’s but will certainly do so more now!

We visited yesterday to view your new shoe department. I am a regular visitor and have to say how the store goes from strength to strength. What a pleasure it is to visit. We were greeted by Dan who always has a friendly word for visitors to the store. Harvey's is an asset to our town and well worth a visit.

Only visited the cafe section and it was exactly how I remembered it from over 25yr ago.. new decor of course.

The bra department is the best,

I love this store. I normally visit their other store in the peace hall but do from time to time come into the main store. Love the restaurant and bag department the most .

I live abroad and I ordered a gift card for me mum was impressed with the lady who kindly posted it out to her promptly. I had asked before I purchased it if it could be used in the restaurant she said it could be used in all departments but on receiving it the restaurant was exempt which was a big disappointment as that was one of the main reasons I bought it because my mum uses this restaurant regularly

Lovely store set on a few levels... A coffee shop & loo's , so , great for a mid morning break. Nice clothes, shoes & bags etc.....

I needed a dress for a wedding and decided to go to Harvey's. I was looked after by a wonderful lady from Phase Eight and she couldn't have been more helpful. She understood what I was looking for and made me feel like a valued customer.

Has s lift gd for reaching all floors. Shop seems to have kept going. Cafe v gd ....service v gd.... had lovely sandwich with extra butter as requested & it was lovely. Gd days shopping.

This shop has lots of things to choose from. Well known labels in a warren of different floors. Staff are very pleasant too.

Brilliant local department store. A true Gem in Halifax, everything that the bigger boys used to have with all the quality you would expect plus a marvellous and large restaurant cafe on the top floor.

This is a family owned department store, it sells a very wide range of quality designer clothing, fabulous shoe dept and make up dept and the staff are charming. It also has a first class cafe with delicious food at reasonable prices. We are lucky to have such a lovely store in Halifax

Absolutely first class service and consideration in the shoe department on Saturday, can't praise the lady who served us highly enough, I hope her employer knows what an asset she is.
