Disgusted ordered at 6pm paid for my order never got it ordered through just eat had to cancel at 8.15 just eat were rubbish at sorting it out and fat fox didn't answer their phone will never use either again

Normalmente no me importaba, y dejaría de escribir una reseña, pero anoche el servicio fue demasiado pobre para dejar pasar la oportunidad.Cuando llegamos, éramos un grupo de cinco, pero estábamos sentados en una mesa para dos, quizás tres. Sin embargo, esto era algo que miraría más allá, ya que estamos en tiempos extraños, y obviamente esta mesa es mejor que ninguna. Cuando pedimos las primeras bebidas estuvo bien. Todos recibimos nuestros pedidos y los recibimos en un período de tiempo razonable. Sin embargo, a medida que avanzaba la noche, apenas pudimos encontrar una camarera para servirnos. Llegó al punto que nadie vino ni siquiera a recoger los platos, que tuvimos que limpiar nosotros mismos poniendo en la barra de al lado. Esperamos y esperamos a una mesera, y cuando finalmente pasó una, logramos su atención. Ella vino con los pedidos y luego se sorprendió cuando le preguntamos si podíamos dividir la cuenta y pagar nuestras propias bebidas, se puso sarcástica y dijo "solo divide la cuenta", lo cual fue injusto porque una persona pidió más artículos. No es de extrañar, ya que en ese momento había un miembro del personal masculino merodeando por este tipo. Junto a estos dos, estaban tres de los camareros que enviaban mensajes de texto en los teléfonos de sus herederos y, como era de esperar, no parecían ansiosos por ir a ayudar a ningún cliente. Luego decidieron ayudarse a sí mismos y en su lugar se sirvieron bebidas. Seguimos esperando. con las manos en alto durante más de treinta minutos y nadie nos atendió. Staff are absolute legends. Great vibe and atmosphere. Always a good time in there. Thanks for the memories

A lovely rustic style pub with pool tables and a lovely bar. Dog friendly, very good choice of alcoholic beverages. Friendly staff

Kitchen has been taken over by a new chef, menu is excellent for some beer munchies. Massive selection of burgers and finger foods, even options for vegans! Over 10 of us ordered food and all of us enjoyed, service was quick considering the size of the order. Chef was very friendly also. 10/10 would recommend.

Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. All football shown on their multiple TVs and HD projectors around the venue. Lovely place to go for a quiet pint during the day with outside seating.

Dreadful. The most disinterested staff I've ever seen. Absolutely no interest in customers. They do however have great ability at looking at there own mobile phones.

Visitamos este pub para una fiesta de trabajo, mi compañero y yo esperamos junto a una mesa mientras nuestros amigos tomaban una bebida y nos dijeron que estábamos demasiado intoxicados para que nos sirvieran. Lo que era una completa tontería, solo teníamos un par antes de entrar. Los dos miembros del personal que trabajaban eran totalmente groseros y no tenían motivos para no servirnos. No volveré La actitud del personal no era necesaria y necesitaban una nueva capacitación. Conseguimos una bebida en la carretera donde el personal era encantador.

Mi compañero y yo pasamos por casualidad nuestra primera cita aquí hace dos años: inicialmente habíamos planeado un paseo de pub pero terminaron siendo seducidos por la prueba de pub. Desde entonces nos gusta visitar regularmente este pub cuando tenemos la oportunidad.Siempre es muy amable y muy limpio, con un atento personal del bar. ¡En nuestra última visita estuve muy feliz de descubrir que ahora usan pajitas biodegradables! !

Really friendly bar staff and a good general vibe. The food is always good and hearty sized portions. Ive been around Portsmouth for a number of years now and the Fat Fox is a usual watering hole. Im not getting any better at pool though!

I had dinner at the fat fox and it was delicious. The Angus burger was so good, the best burger I've found in southsea. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere was really great. It was really reasonably priced too. Will definitely return.

Popped in on a whim at lunchtime on a friday with the hubby for a tequila and game of pool. Super friendly bar staff, great music playing, cutest date we have had for a while.

Realmente no sé por qué no vamos aquí más a menudo. No hay lujos pub con grandes pantallas para actividades deportivas. Personal amable y probamos la comida por primera vez anoche. Enorme hamburguesa y patatas fritas por menos de £9 y estaba delicioso. Incluso el loos están bien, aunque yo estaba un poco desanime el cubo en uno de los recintos de las damas. The mozzarella sticks and burgers are super tasty. Additionally, the whisky selection, amongst other spirits are fantastic. Customer service is always on point too. Great pub!

I like the name of the pub but it is very run down inside but you get a nice welcome and the drinks are reasonably priced.

El personal es siempre amable! Muy concurrida durante el fin de semana, más tranquilo en las tardes cuando algo de comida a un precio muy razonable, y hay una mesa de billar para pasar el rato!

La grasa es un excelente pub Fox para socializar, baile, música en vivo y deportes. También está muy infravalorado por la comida. Las hamburguesas son estupendas y con una buena relación calidad-precio. La carne Angus burger con tocino y queso papas fritas junto con rizado es un acompañamiento para algunas pintas con amigos o mientras contempla el fútbol tienen BT y Sky Sports).

Looking for somewhere to eat before a Saturday evening show at the Kings Theatre the reviews for this pub were good so without attempting to book we walked in and there were a couple of empty tables. We were forewarned that food may take up to 40 minutes due to the no of people just having turned up so having plenty of time to spare we enjoyed a couple of drinks from the bar first, nice to see Red Stripe on draft. The five of us had a variety of pub type meals but slightly more upmarket offerings than the usual I.e burger with blue cheese, posh sausages with mustard mash. All good.

We've been to The Fat Fox twice now, one for an evening meal and once for breakfast. You cannot beat the service, the friendliness of staff, the food or the prices. The breakfast was lovely, a good sized portion too. We will definately we calling again - Thank you.

Often go here as the closest pub to my home. However that said it don't just go here for the convenience I go here because every time I go they have something new. Excellent staff and incredible knowledge of products. Popped in last night for a quick one and ended up trying all the gins they stock and finish in the evening with a glorious Woodford reserve. Went here to meet a friend for a pint and to watch the rugby, lots of comfy seating, loads of screens! Then as soon as the sport is over the sofas are re arranged for the night. Also ended having a burger, one of the best I've had and a brilliant price! Would definitely go here again!

Four of us popped in for a pub meal around 6:30pm, it was very busy (due to football & rugby) but we managed to get a table. The food is reasonable priced and is reasonable quality with decent portion sizes.

The Fat Fox had good homemade food, reasonable priced and friendly staff. I only wish there were beer or wine specials or a happy hour.

Overnight stay in Portsmouth on way to France hotel didn't do food so check on trip advisor to see what's around and it threw it up this little gem something for all on menu and very tasty food also couple of nice beers= one happy and full family thanks

I've drank here many times, good atmosphere and enjoyable live music on occasion. When I ate here I was very pleasantly surprised, lovely meal, would definitely eat here again.

A couple of years ago now-Great location, loads of parking, lovely lay out family area and a quiet romantic lovely lit corner for the special occasions shared with our loved ones. Great bar that my partner and I often go too. Great selection of beers and spirits. Staff are amazing and always seemed to be served by Mark. He even knows my drink Gentleman Jack and coke as I walk in he's getting it ready. Customer service always with a smile as it should be.

Great food with the ability to customise as much as you'd like, from burgers to pizzas to sausage and mash, a variety of sandwiches and other meals such as a personal favourite - piri piri smothered chicken. Staff are friendly and attentive. Great venue with frequent live music, comedy nights and quizzes. Well worth a visit.

Looking for somewhere to eat before going to the King’s Theatre is not easy since there are many pubs and restaurants along Albert Road. After my last experience where I found out that an Indian restaurant didn’t have a license to sell alcohol, I decided to stick with a good old British pub. I chose The Fat Fox because 22 of its 33 Tripadvisor reviews rated it as excellent and reviews were full of praise for its menu. I don’t think I am fussy but I found its menu very limited. There are three dishes available – burgers, pizzas and sausage and mash. There are variations on each dish which extends the choice somewhat. It was certainly a very good burger with proper golden chips and there can be no complaint at £4.50 (toppings cost extra). And contrary what has been said on other reviews, the service was very efficient, although I have to say there were only four tables occupied. The bar itself is unpretentious and a bit scruffy and the tatty menu implies a cheapness but I imagine it could have a cheery atmosphere when busy with fans watching the sports TV or students.

The pros: Always attentive service here; plenty of screens for t'footie; Red Stripe. The cons: Drinks expensive; tables and bartop left unwiped too often.

Four of us spent an evening here in March. The staff were fantastic; very friendly and efficient and were keen to ensure our meals etc were ok. The food was very good value for money and, I'm very pleased to say, the burgers were homemade and not that usual frozen rubbish you tend to receive these days. Great that an alternative to normal chips were sweet potato chips. All our food was delicious and the portion sizes were very generous. Everywhere appeared clean and well maintained and although there was a student quiz night going on in one of the larger rooms, we didn't feel like it intruded upon our family evening and enjoyment at all. My friend and I paid a visit the fat fox with our ībabies. All the staff were very attentive and accommodating. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. I would definitely go back and I highly recommend this to other mother's.

I visited the Fat Fox on an evening in January with some friends. They serve a range of local beers as well as a couple of ciders, namely Stowford Press which is very nice. The pub is a little cramped though and there isn't much space to move around, let alone sit, if the pub is busy.

This is one of the pubs local to me and I visit a few times a week for a drink. Today I popped in for a quick burger and a pint. Quick, no, still waiting 40 minutes after ordering and it's not exactly busy. Have eaten here before, service and food quality was good so what happened today? If there is a long wait time tell people when they are ordering as some of us have a schedule to stick to. Time to ask for a refund and get on with the rest of my day.

I have visited this pub a number of times over the recent years and it has always delivered. It offers a bit of everything, whether I go and watch football there with my friends, go for lunch with family or if I want a lively weekend evening out.From what I undertsand there are 2 guys that own this place and they have got it just right. Every time I go there I am made to feel welcome, their service is high quality and the food is excellent and cheap! Not to mention the quality of beers and choice of whiskey.I would highly recommend a burger which I don't think can be beaten on price and quality by other pubs in the area.

I was taken to The Fat Fox by friends who live in the area. The pub is nice and serves Doombar. The toilets could do with a bit of TLC as one has a crack down the side of the bowel.

This is a pub based in the heart of Southsea, great food menu at very reasona prices! Good beer and a lot of sports! Football, rugby and most importantly to me NFL American football and usually an extended licence to watch the games on special occasions! (Super Bowl & championships etc) I only have ONE suggestion for the place...get a new pool table...PLEASE!? That one you have in there is in terrible condition. That is all ;)

Music is great and creates a nice relaxed vibe. We came to watch the World Cup so it's great to sit on comfy sofas and watch the football on the big screen. Then food was excellent nachos has so much sour cream I was so impressed... And sausage and mash great value and loads of it! There was not a lot to choose from on the menu. My husband had sausage and mash and I had a sandwich. The food was okay but nothing special. We both felt that we could have had exactly the same at home. I did not feel very comfortable in there. It was very dark and had mismatched furniture which was not very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and the price of the food was reasonable.If I was back in the area and just needed a quick bite to eat I would not object to eating here again but I would not go out of my way to go back.

The Fat Fox is a traditional looking pub located just off Albert Road in Southsea. This place offers a wide selection of real ales and quality bottled ciders, alongside your favorite draught lager, cider and spirits.They also have a traditional 'pub grub' menu, all of which is homemade from fresh ingredients. Their Bangers & Mash are the best I have ever tasted in the area. In addition to this they also have live bands. Relaxed and intimate bar overlooking Albert Road.

Having the displeasure, entertainment, and experience of working for / being subcontracted to many "chain" pubs all across Britain, over the past 6 to 7 years, it's great to find a pub like the Fat Fox in Portsmouth....!The food is great, the service, staff and management are fantastic, there are huge amounts of great staff that work for "chain" pubs, but the fun of going out to a great pub, with good staff, is often sucked out of the venue, by overly corporate management, and the beige politically correct mob's do's and don'ts....!This is not the case at the Fox, if you enjoy a good laugh, great food, and a laid back atmosphere then the Fox is the pub for you, by far the best run venue in Portsmouth, unleash your "chains" and go to the Fox......:)

Went here for lunch, ordered the beef burger. Food came within 10mins and was fantastic. Friends left and spent 30 mins talking to the staff. Very friendly. Would highly recommend.

Good cheap drinks, really good fun with the regulars and the staff, one of the best nights I had out in Portsmouth! Came back to try the food and it was incredibly good value, can get a burger with cheese and bacon for less than a fiver! Tried my partners sausage and mash too and buy god was that tasty! Pretty basic chips and burger bun but really worth the money, guaranteed good night out at the Fat Fox.

I came here with a friend and my small baby, I felt welcomed and a member of staff opened the door and helped bring my pram through the door. The pub was clean and the bar staff friendly. I had a cheeseburger with chips, it was lovely, really well cooked and came quickly to the table. I would definitely come back here again and would recommend a visit.

I went to this pub with a group of friends and we ordered some food, a really simple selection on the menu to please everyone. The food was fresh and really well prepared, The meals came out promptly and the staff were really friendly, Everyone in the group commented on how nice their meal was and we would definitely go back.

Good food from an inventive menu where you can build your own meal, great atmosphere, value for money, sport on the big screens. Perfect!

I have to admit I frequent this place often as I always feel welcome which has a lot to do with the fact it's not a chain but owned by two good guys who between them can alway be found at the pub. The menu choice is simple traditional and very good value for money. Great sports coverage also with lots of large screen TV's which can be split so you can see more than one game at a time. Good for the end of the season clinchers and for me watching golf.

This is a lovely little pub, nice atmosphere, good deals on drinks (though apparently those are only on mondays and tuesdays!), food is really good quality and cheap as well, their menu doesn't have the biggest selection but you can make your own burgers which is really cool, nice and friendly staff, definitely would recommend!

My wife and I usually eat out at a restaurant on Wednesday nights. We thought for a change we would try a local pub. Sausage mash and gravy for 2 for under a £10. Food was very good and service was fast and very friendly. By the time we finished at 8.30pm we were feeling a bit old and the music was getting loud but a enjoyable night out.

went there on sat 27th april when we arrived there were 4 people at 1 table so we ordered our food 3 burger and chips 1 sandwich and sausage and mash the 4 people got served ate there food and left in between 2 more blokes arrived ordered there food ate it and left now we still hadn't got our food so we complained to the staff and she said they were busy. now maybe I missed something but the pub when we arrived was practically empty so we waited and the guy said it would be 15 mins bearing in mind we had waited 35mins already and it still didn't arrive. just over and hour after we had ordered we got our food and by that time we were put off so we didn't enjoy it. if they were honest and said they misplaced the order then ok it happens but they said its very busy with orders. hmm I don't think so. I am very disappointed because I like the fat fox for a beer its a nice pub but that has put me off ever eating there again.POOR RUBBISH SERVICE A DISGRACE

Used to love this place for a sunday roast, but stopped going for a while after my partner had a bad experience with the food. Went back today to try again and found that on my vegetarian roast the potatoes were overcooked with hardly any potato in them, and when I queried that the sprouts tasted like bacon I was informed by the waitress that they were indeed cooked with bacon! I will now never go there again, a real shame.
