Casa Brasil in Portsmouth

Been here a few times, always great food and service. It may not be the cheapest but worth it. Plus, I have recently been diagnosed as celiac (gluten free) and found it hard to find places to go to eat. Casa Brazil is brilliant as all the meats and most of the food there is gluten-free, and if any doubt on the salads or desserts the staff are more than happy to help. I was very happy.

Exceptional food, extremely kind and clearly passionate staff. Service was amazing, definitely coming again.

We booked Casa Brasil for a large group 87 people and it was run very well, we all left well fed and had a great time. Thank you to the team.

We had a very good service on Saturday from manager and all stuff. We went to celebrate my husband's birthday and I sent message asking them to sing happy birthday to him. They did it although the birthday wasn't on that day. The meat was very good and the rest of food too. We recommend and will come back too. They're also kids friendly. Our daughter was making a lot of noise due to her health condition, the stuff was always very polite and patient with her.

The quality and flavour of the meats are delicious and all the dishes. Great friendly service. Highly recommend

His hospitality made us feel truly welcome. The food was amazing—we all thoroughly enjoyed it, especially our 9-year-old son who gave it a solid 10/10! My wife and I visited the Casa Brasil Restaurant on May 4th 2025. We had thier Sunday Lunch BBQ meal, what an experience! Self serve salad bar, then they come around with assorted meats on skewers and cut you off as much as you want at the table. All perfectly cooked and piping hot. You can order side dishes of chips, fried fish etc. And finish off with coffee or tea. This is a must visit restaurant when you visit Port Solent, Portsmouth 5* for me .

Visited this afternoon for the first time. We were welcomed by the Duty Manager Filippe who took the time to explain how the all you can eat experience works, telling us to choose a table and he would then guide us through the Casa Brasil experience. We chose a table on the outside terrace overlooking the marina. The experience that was delivered was absolutely first class in every aspect, choice of food, cleanliness, presentation, service and serving staff were all 5 star, nothing was too much trouble and when they found it was my birthday they all came to our table led by Filippe with a little candled cake, bongo drum, tambourine singing and encouraging others to sing happy birthday to me. Absolutely outstanding in every aspect, thank you to Filippe and his amazing Staff for a truly outstanding 5* value for money gourmet experience in superb surroundings overlooking the marina. We will be returning to Casa Brasil in the future for sure. Fantastic experience, 5 stars.

Amazing food all you can eat £35 and amazing service!

We came to celebrate a birthday and had a wonderful meal. Filipe is very attentive, charming and helpful. He led his team in an efficient but very respectful manner. The meats were plentiful and tasty, served by very pleasant staff. The lamb, parmesan pork, sweet chilli turkey and the cinnamon pineapple were all particular favourites! We enjoyed the self-service salad/dessert bar and thought the variety of salads/desserts was excellent. We look forward to coming back soon!

The staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful, the meats, perfect. They have had dessert area added since I last went, set me up nicely for the evening, would always recommend.

We had a great family time on my birthday using the birthday voucher the restaurant sent to me. We tried most of the salads and some of the meat and were full up on our way out. The gentleman who served our table was brilliant 🤩 I didn’t ask for his name, he was very friendly and helpful 🙏 Defo a favourite place to visit açai and again.

Meat very dry , hots sides were cheap heated microwave , not much choice of puddings reminded me of a very cheap all-inclusive food ☹️ Complained to manger, he said he could not do much as his manger was not there , 🤔 and suggested to complain with a email (which I have done to customer service) Said they have had many complaints ☹️ Not good , waiting for a response, from here and my email . Expensive don’t waste your money !

Just been there for my daighters birthday. Poor quality food and would not return. Waiters very good. We did complain to manager but he really couldnt care less. Expensive and overpriced.

I am coming to this place for 3 years now. At the door I have waited to be seated to a table. After 2 minutes an Italian sounding waiter claimed to be the manager shouted at me and told me to sit to a different table. I have never ever experienced worst service in a restaurant in my life. Awful Service.

We spent lunch time with family friends here. The food was fantastic, great service. Our favorite is the grilled cinnamon pineapple.

Very disappointed this evening I have eaten in Kazi many of times and always recommend it to friends and family for a good service and food but today the service was absolutely shocking. The weight for food and the meat to come out was so delayed when we asked to do the birthday cake he refused to direct because he said he was too busy but still wanted a £450 bill very arrogant and I would not recommend to eat in casa Brazil Porto to anyone very expensive for what it is, you’ll be better off going to Iceland and getting better quality food

It's all about the meat. If you like rarer cooked meat then this is the place to go. I prefer well cooked meat so was quite disappointed and most of it was beef. Quality of the salad and side dishes was lacking.

Excellent restaurant for meat buffet. Replica of the restaurants of this type found in Portugal and Brazil. 36 pounds per person, which does not include drinks and coffee. Friendly and efficient staff, mostly Portuguese and Brazilian. Calm and fun atmosphere. Has free parking. Will be back.

I used to love coming here but all you can eat buffet is ridiculous for the price you pay there's hardly anything there compared to what it used to be like not going back sadly...staff were lovely though

Have just had a party of 17 canceled with one day's notice! A 70th birthday with guests coming from as far as America. Can't believe they are so heartless not sure where to go from here. Absolutely gutted for my amazing husband and guests!

We had a lovely experience here on a sunny evening. The staff were friendly and attentive, and even though we hadn't booked, they quickly set up an outside table for us. The Brazilian-style dining, with food served from skewers brought to your table by waiters, was a fun experience. The red and green card system to signal when you want more food works well, although we did have to wave down the waiters a couple of times as they occasionally missed our table. Perhaps a more visible system, like coloured blocks, would be more efficient. Despite this minor hiccup, the food was delicious, with a wide variety of meats to try, including some more adventurous options like kangaroo, chicken hearts under variety of beef and pork! The price was moderate – our meal for two with a bottle of crisp sparkling wine came to around £78, which is fairly standard for Portsmouth. While you can certainly find cheaper options, the quality and experience here make it worthwhile. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. My only word of caution would be that the atmosphere is perhaps more suited to adults. While older children would likely enjoy the food and the lively atmosphere, I noticed that the one table with young children on a busy Saturday night seemed a little out of place, and the noise from their children did disrupt the otherwise pleasant dining experience for the other guests. So, if you're looking for a family meal out, it might be best to consider other options. If you're looking for a fun and unique dining experience in Portsmouth, I definitely recommend giving this place a try

Great if you love meat! We made the classic mistake of taking too much of the cold buffet before the meat came round. The sirloin of beef, the parmesan pork and the cinnamon pineapple were the highlights of the meats carved at your table. Drinks are a little on the expensive side, but the “bottomless brazil” is a good deal if you can stick to draught beer or their selection of cocktails. Will be back again soon.

My previous visit here was over 9 years ago but I don't remember the meat having as much seasoning as it did on this occasion. So much so, that is was just not good at all. The ham was inedible as was the pork, lamb and beef. The chicken on the bone was great as were the small sausages. A shame really, because the salad bar and the sweets were excellent. Considering the price they charge, I thought the whole experience was not good value. Disappointed 😞

Genuinly the worst meal I’ve ever had, Overpriced as it can get, get about a crum of meat everytime it comes round, wouldn’t let my dog at it

I went to casa Brazil last night with friends, everything was great apart from one main issue. The amount of salt added to the meat. The food was really tasty but there was a huge amount of salt all over the meat. The gammon was so salty it was pretty much inedible. We were sat next to the guy cooking the food and he’d hold the meat over the sink and shake half a ton of salt over the meat. I was up 3 times times last night downing water and had a headache all day today. I can’t see why they’re purposely add that amount of salt Shame as would have been 5 stars otherwise

I am quite surprised by some of the poor reviews on here . My experience is quite the contrary. We were a party of 18 for a birthday gathering yesterday with mixed adult and children . The staff were so incredibly helpful and friendly they could not have done more . Excellent gluten free choices and information on other allergies available easily . The manager constantly checked we were ok and have everything we needed . Hot sides were brought for all to share around and refilled on request . They even brought an ice cream which was not on the menu to one of our party which was no problem to arrange and lolly pops for the children . An impromptu birthday song from the staff was fabulous at the end . Thank you so much for welcoming us . Hope to visit again soon .

Came here for a friend’s birthday - his choice as said he had enjoyed it before! Salad bar - ok Service - I didn’t enjoy how they came over with the meat. We were a table of 7 and the waiter stood at the corner or the table and we all had to reach over to get the meat. The poor person sat next to the meat got splattered with meat fat and she had to act as waitress putting meat on the plate and serving it Meat - meh. I didn’t have much of it tbh but what I did eat was far too salty which made it not enjoyable Sides - didn’t enjoy particularly Waiter came over with our cocktails - put one on the table, then the whole tray of drinks somehow ended up all over me. He accused me of touching the tray, if I did ok it was my fault but still no apology. I was drenched, literally soaking wet. After they had cleaned up the floor then then offered me some blue towel I had to go into the disabled loo, strip and dry my clothes with the hand dryer! Drinks - Pina Colada was nice, my partner didn’t enjoy his cocktail. Over priced! £130 for 2 people!!!! Won’t go back

Brazilian food is excellent. This was not Brazilian food, Feijoada, poor quality, salty, frankly inedible. Bbq meat all tough and tasteless. Salads poor, sweets just ghastly. And not cheap! Staff very pleasant.

We’ve had lots of family celebrations at Casa Brasil from my dad’s 80th to our son’s 16th more recently. It’s one of the few places our family of 19 can be seated comfortably, including a high chair and space for a pram. The food is great, lots of lovely fresh salads and delicious meat selections as well as hot tapas and mini desserts. The bar choice is also really good with cocktails and mocktails on top of the usual. For our son’s birthday recently, the atmosphere was great from the start and they were really happy for me to bring a birthday cake. All the staff banged drums, played tambourines and we all sang happy birthday. Thank you to everyone who made it a great day! 🍹

Saturday lunch, despite staff not being busy, we were left standing 5 minutes before we being seated. Meat tasted strange and was very salty, prawns were overcooked tasted as had been reheated. Only highlight was that the guy serving our table was customer focussed, caring and attentive.Wont be going back any time soon.

I absolutely love this place! The price is fairly reasonable for all you can eat meats. They have dozens of meats to choose from and the staff are incredibly friendly. There is a wide range of sides and desserts for you to choose from and the quality is amazing. The meats are grilled there and then and make sure you go on an empty stomach as you'll be eating like a king/queen.

We had a company dinner at Casa Brasil on 7 December 2024. The place and ambience was good. Location is not that good for commuting customers exceot by taxi. The food which was supposed to be the highlights, was I would say, did not meet my expectations. Gammon and the sausage were like marinated in the sea. The beef was so tough and bland. Pork was ok, but still not that good. The chicken and the turkey were for me the best, in taste, texture and satisfaction in the mouth. I asked one of the staff about why the sausage and the gammon were super salty, he just said that the sausage was his favorite but now it isn't anymore. For a £36 dinner, I will not come back for something too expensive that I can make myself at home and better. Beans was also salty, mushrooms was good. Overall, I can't really talk about it and recommend to my friends.

I just had dinner at this restaurant and I can't stop vomiting and going to the bathroom. My stomach won't stop hurting. Possibly because of the raw meat they served me. I asked for it well done and they still brought it rare. I was hungry after just getting back from a trip. They served me another piece of meat that was completely burnt. I couldn't take any pictures because my phone ran out of battery and they pretended that my charger wasn't charging, so I couldn't take any pictures. French fries completely covered in oil. DISAPPOINTED AND FEELING SICK, thank you very much! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Another observation: You guys are right in the gringo evaluation by the response below to a customer and NO, your food doesn't even come close to what quality Brazilian food is. Gringos barely know what good food actually is, but rather poor quality rice, potatoes, “cold” foods, as they say. Brazilian who knows what Brazilian food is, gives this restaurant a 0 rating. The whole experience was let down from the start. The front desk is unmanned most of the time and you wait ages and I mean ages, for anyone to attend to you to get you seated. Interaction at the front desk is borderline rude even after you have been waiting a long time - no apologies or anything close. The main serving staff are super and were great. Food is ok, not bad, not great either. We usually go to the southampton branch which seems more well run.

First time I'd visited, went with friends for a birthday, clean place with friendly staff, was explained what we had to do and where the food was placed , being the salad bar and plates, salad was fresh , back at the table the meat arrived now there's a variety of meat from chicken to beef and as much as you can eat your given a card , green more meat red no more its that simple, meat arrives on skewers and is sliced off by the staff, it's very tasty and melts in your mouth, drinks are available so you can choose from the menu,as well as desserts also available 😋 great atmosphere. I really enjoyed it. Thank you. Prices are pretty average for 2024. So go and enjoy.

We go there every week and we love it. My child always eat for free as he is 3yo, me and my brother never get tired of the service, food and ambience. The staff is the friendliest I ever met and everyone is always up to some banter or a chat. Special shout out to the management team as they go over the top to provide a great service. As a plus tip, if you speak Portuguese or spanish you are gonna love it even more!

I really loved this restaurant! Had some amazing food here (the pineapple and peri peri chicken were amazing)! The meet In the buffet being cut in front of the table really added to the atmosphere. In addition the staff here were very friendly and provide amazing customer service, asking what we enjoyed and making sure we had at least another serving of it Definitely worth coming for a date night !

I proposed to my fiancee there, was good food, for an all you can eat place, they offered too much of the standard meats however and less steak for an all you can eat steak house, I've been to a few.

If you want good atmosphere go on a fri/sat night, if you want a good quiet meal Sunday is the day for you :-) always a good time

I am a veggie, so there are only two options for me on the menu. I didn't like having to fetch salads from Salad Bar, too many people having contact with food i might eat. The meat eaters had to wait for servers to come around, not as often as previous visits. Prices are good.

Good was either burned or burned and uncooked at the same time for example getting served pink pork and chicken wings on three separate time one the pork was pink and dripping blood from it for people who don't know that meat if it's pink could kill you and then when we told the management about the problem we got kicked out and told never come back.

A different experience for sure my favourite was deep fried banana! The men loved the meat!

Loved this place. Looking over the harbour with all the boats and sun going down. Staff were super friendly and professional and could not be more helpful. Only thing that puts me off making this a 5 star place is that you have to order your sides and it's not a buffet self service. Obviously other people may prefer that they don't have to get up and self serve but I felt awkward asking for just one bit of bread etc...

Went recently as a family of 5 (with 2 pescetarians and a vegetarian). Despite being a meat centered restaurant there were quite a few fish and non meat main options (hallomi and prawn skewers were cook to order), as well as within the salad bar and bottomless hot sides (the fried fish was great). The dessert area was not overstocked meaning that the sweet treats did not suffer from being flavourless (as we have experienced in other buffet style restaurants). In fact, the desserts were all very tasty and our party especially enjoyed the cakes with dessicated coconut and the various mousses. All of the staff were attentive and helpful (despite the place being busy) and the price was reflective of the variety of good food and meat available. Definitely would go again!

Excellent restaurant. We went as a family to celebrate a birthday. The staff are warm and make you feel welcome from the very beginning. The food selection is amazing and tasty and there's plenty of different meats on offer. There was even a bit of live music at one point in the evening. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Reminds me of Fogo Gaucho Nairobi...eat all you can Brazilian style. However, as an African, it could do with more spice to the meat? More spice is always good especially in a cooler clime.

Went as a group of four at lunch time, got there a bit early but was no problem, went to talk about my allergy (sulfites) and the host said he was just about to ask which one of us had it as he could see on the booking and had pre arranged with the chefs for some unmarinated food, they went through all the ways to view the allergy's, was simple and easy to understand, it was clear the staff had been breefed when the unmarinated food came out and came straight to our table, I just loved the whole experience, the host even checked up on me half way though, best service I have received since discovery of my allergy. Will return and make sure my allergy is on the booking ready for them

Visited Casa Brazil for our first time having never tried a rodizio. The chef de partie Phillipe was constantly on the ball, ensuring that all customers were dealt with in a timely manner. Alex also made repeat appearances and always served with a smile, all round great staff. The evening BBQ menu was fantastic, side dishes were a little less appealing, but certainly nothing to complain about. Overall a brilliant experience and highly recommend.

The service in this place is second to none and it's so true what they say on the door, you enter hungry and you leave happy! Great choices of unlimited starters/desserts and the Rodizio is excellent! Would love to come here again, especially with the nice views of the Marina!

As a Brazilian I can say that it is not Brazilian food as it is in the name, only marketing, it could still be any other type of cuisine but that was good, unfortunately the food is very bad!

Damp smell on entry. Three other tables in use. Walked towards bar area and asked for a table for 2. Polite staff member looked towards a manager in a suit who said “have they booked” this was relayed and we said no. Manager in suit said “you should have waited at the door” sat down studied menu £70 minimum spend for 2. I highly recommend the Indian round the corner.

This place is amazing. Your first thoughts are wow its pricy, but and it's really a big BUT It's not... The food you get for the price is of good value and quality. Remember, you pay once and can keep going till you have a card saying no, but then you can turn it over to carry on... plus you don't finish there, the afters are the same too, handy small sizes but you keep going till you've had enough plus they really are nice to... This, for us, has now become a must place to visit whenever we are down this way.. thanks goes to my cousin who introduced us to this place. Awsome highly recommended 👌 👍

We just had the best time at Casa Brasil! Kevin and Diogo and many other staff members were super nice and made us feel really welcome. The food was fantastic, especially the cinnamon sugar pineapple! —They even surprised us with some freebies and a whole pineapple to take home😭 Such a great place, and we’ll definitely be back!

A group of 4 Nigerians and British as a treat by one of us whose family frequents the place. Consensus was we all liked the service from when we stepped in till when we left. MeaI was fantastic and tasty. The corn cobs, the cinnamon-sprinkled pineapples, everything. We each shared some and also tasted different things. Spoilt for choices. Would go again.
