Loch Fyne in Portsmouth

Popped into Loch Fyne for lunch today with my husband and had an amazing meal😋 With fantastic and friendly service from the lovely Aimee and her fellow colleagues 👍

Had high hopes for dining in a fish restaurant. Sadly, these were dashed. Can't fault our waitress but when her shift ended mid meal, we had no table attendance. Also feel that ordering is not done to benefit customers but to boost restaurant tariff. For example, I asked for salad to replace mushy peas. Waitress suggested I order a side salad and give my mushy peas to hubby. Sounded good but billed £4.50 for a tiny portion of little gem leaves (my tortoises eat them in abundance), cucumber and onion...no colour and very bland! Had I been informed of the cost I would gladly wavered my peas! Salt and pepper squid was soggy and doughy but not asked when plates collected. 2x haddock and chips. My hubby and i both commented that the haddock was watery and questioned if it was cod. We were told no cod in restaurant (really? This is a fish restaurant)!! No discount offered! Ultimately a disappointing menu for a fish restaurant and doubly disappointing that the food offered was (in my opinion) over priced and not of a good standard/quality.

Sadly disappointing. Had booked for my 60th birthday with my husband and really looking forward to our first visit. But after sitting at an inside table for 15 minutes with no acknowledgment, we decided to leave. Admit we had moved from an outside table, but to be completely overlooked wasn’t really acceptable :(

I had an outside table for lunch at this restaurant. I had prawn cocktail, fish and chips and a bottle of cider. All really tasty. Very good quality. I was looked after very warmly and cheerfully by Charlie (Charlotte).

My wife and I visited whilst at gunwharf quays Portsmouth, the staff were very helpful and friendly the food was excellent.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here, attended by a very personable server. We had chilli king prawns, smoked salmon with pickled vegetables, capers and crème fraiche with dill and rye bread. Mains chilli prawn linguine. All delicious. Can’t wait for our next trip to Portsmouth.

Food was Yummmmm. Tried - Fish cake - Salt and Peper squid - Chili Prawn - Soup - Grilled Seabass - Mixed Grill Food was fresh and amazing.

Me and my partner have been wanting to go for a while and for her birthday we decided to go, we really wish we didn’t bother. We both love lobster and not something we eat regularly so were really looking forward to this. We arrived and were greeted by our waitress amber who was brilliant and very helpful. I had scallops and she had fish cakes for starters. They weren’t too bad although the scallops probably needed a bit longer cooking but was ok and not dead so could have been worse. I then went for the surf and turf with a half lobster. The steak was meant to be ribeye but ended up being sirloin and my other half had a whole lobster. These poor little things should have been put back as they were tiny and def not worth the £36 whole £18 half asking price which is pretty cheap but still too much. They also over cooked it which meant it was tough and barely enough to fill a fork for the half and yes I got all the meat out. I also had the prawns which I wish I didn’t bother with as they were as tough as old boots. We had enough as this point and didn’t bother with the dessert. Amber throughout was really good but she’s not the chef and doesn’t order the food from wherever it comes from but whoever does needs to sort it out as that was a really bad experience and will not be returning. Real shame but lesson learnt

Came here for our pre wedding celebration. Charlie was awesome! Big fan of her and her attitude. Would come again

Dad and I visited this lovely restaurant for a mid-week lunch. There is a specials board in addition to the main menu and the courses were knowledgeably described to us with enthusiasm by Amber who waited on our table. She was attentive and friendly and together with the excellent food made our lunch a lovely and relaxing experience.

We were waited on by Emma who was excellent. She was bubbly, friendly and was knowledgeable about the entire menu. She made our delicious meal even better with her lovely personality.

This was just a gorgeous restaurant, in a lovely setting with fabulous service! I dined by myself but enjoyed a relax meal with friendly staff who were great with my dietary needs.

Amazing food with so much choice for each course! We tried most of the starters and also the oysters which were stunning! The mains and desserts were also delicious. An amazing meal in a gorgeous location for a well deserved celebration!

We visited on a Monday evening. Although the day had been nice we chose to eat inside as the the wind had a cold edge to it. We were served by Charlie who was fantastic. We enjoyed our food and drink. If we lived nearer I am sure we would be regular visitors.

Nice salmon pate starter but driest fish pie we've had for a long time. The veg was very (too) al dente especially the asparagus. Also had to keep waving at the food chef to get any attention (needed more mayo). No argument though about removing...

From the moment we arrived we were thoroughly taken care of, the staff were attentive, fun and professional. Charlie our waitress was outstanding and made our dinner a wonderful experience. We look forward to returning soon.

Our first visit to this restaurant. Not disappointed. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice menu. The food was excellent. Good service. Tables could have been a bit more spaced apart. Would recommend and return.

Our second visit this year. Excellent food and excellent service from our waitress Lara. Can't wait to return.

Found this restaurant by chance on the edge of the Gunwharf Quay complex – just behind the crane – lite lunch with beer – me the smoked salmon – good sized portion – very satisfying and refreshing – my wife the chilli prawns – again...

Light and airy setting. Food was excellent and service very good. Nice location in Gunwharf Quay. Recommended.

Definitely a place worth visiting, the food is delicious and the service is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend asparagus with poached egg, chilli prawns and poached haddock!
