First time coming here, and honestly will definitely be coming again, the girls were so lovely who served us, and the food was amazing we had the beef brisket Sunday lunch and it was a taste sensation! Plenty of choice for kids too and my little one had fun on the and slide outside. Thanks all

£17.50 for afternoon tea of just 4 tiny sandwiches and a cream scone. Ordered vegetarian option and they gave me non-vegetarian tuna mayo after verifying that I was vegetarian. Hi. Thank you for your response. I didn't realise you had responded until I saw by chance just now. I don't know how to do a response so I thought I'd post it here. I came on Jan 27th as part of a baby shower. There were about 3 baby showers happening in your restaurant that day. I did tell the waitress. She was confused, and said she thought tuna was vegetarian. She took it away and replaced the 2 small tuna sandwiches with 1 small egg mayo. She didn't seem concerned and I had no apology. Woman with longish blonde hair. I hope this helps.

Just had Sunday lunch there food was really good, I am not one for Sunday dinners out as most of the time the veg is under cooked and dried up. I can highly recommend this pub, definitely will go back

Food was absolutely brilliant, the staff were very busy sorting out a party but still delivered excellent service. The food was absolutely amazing, best in the area to say the least. You cannot fault the brilliant atmosphere and the comfiest seating in the bar area. We highly recommend this beautiful country pub, best we have had in this area in a long while.

Staff seemed to want to spend more time getting the main bar ready for a party and we had to use the games room which it not comfortable

Set off the main roads, this is a lovely family pub. Great value for money, amazing food and lovely service. Will be going back to try other dishes.

Lovely pub with great food, good service & a friendly relaxed atmosphere. This is the second time I've visited during the last 6 weeks and both times it's been thoroughly enjoyable.

Had a lovely evening at a family gathering, nice food good beer great staff lovely location just one issue was the flys got us down a bit. Blue light would be best in the bottom room. I would still go for food but please sort the flys out. Rant over nice place 👍👍👍

Have been here twice for two very lovely Sunday roasts, our favourite in the area

One of the nicest carveries I've had in a while.

We don't live far away from this pub around 2 miles. Staff are excellent friendly and professional. as are most of the pubs around here. Food is very good, but portions slightly pricey for there size, could be bigger, especially the delicious homemade chips.(not enough of them) they come in a small pot The bar prices are Ok, the restaurant is large, but not dog friendly. Which means you have to sit in the bar, which is Just about OK but not too comfortable for us. wooden chairs cramped, Pool table. Its noisy and has a leather sofa in the middle, being climbed over by a handful of children (the managements children) The outside is good, and has a large children's play area. car parking is good, but on a Sunday. can be packed. Definitely Family orientated.

Came today for the first time. For a family meal. The food was amazing staff were amazing will definitely be coming again. I would highly recommend to any one 😍 my Mum can’t eat a full meals were happy to let her have a child’s meal she had cheesecake for pudding loved how it came out

What's the old saying? Any port in a storm... But when we're out walking it's sort of mandatory to have included a pit stop (pub) at some point in the circuit so you're never in the unforgivable position of hankering after a beverage but not having any local hostelry to divert to. Today though, a relatively small amble around the Wetlands centre didn't, initially, seem to warrant such way point marking simply because anything less than 8 miles isn't usually considered a "walk" worth planning. And so about 6 miles in and realising we'd underestimated the prevailing environmental conditions (freak heat, dusty and dry) we were quite literally gasping for one. Thus The Farmers became our port in the storm of miscalculated imbibitory needs. I've had many a coldy in hot places before but this one comes close to being at the top of my memorable best ever quenches list - just a swift pint of cider (Aspall in its own glass) for me and lager for the rest of the party. The menu looked pretty good but that'll be another visit for another day.

Pop in on way home from goldcliff. They had a bouncy castle there for the kids.

Can't recommend this place enough...very pleasant place..staff were lovely,they couldn't do enough for you and the roast dinner was amazing...2 for £20 midweek special...even tried getting the chef to mine on his day off haha ....thankyou guys we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fab hostess and a different take on afternoon tea. Unfortunately we were the only ones there on a Thursday afternoon so atmosphere was a bit flat.

This pub is the BEST. Hands down best pub food about - especially the roast dinner!!!! The staff are lovely, always make you feel at home and super friendly. And can bring your doggy so makes it perfect for a stop in at any time. Also they put on theme nights which are BRILLIANT!!

Have to say we were highly disappointed. After seeing good reviews and the place being recommended to us, I saw the homemade pie served in a dish with the puff pastry lid and mixed seasonal veg we just had to try. Well, I was served only green beans as the seasonal veg, a small portion of chips in some sort of metal pen pot & what looked to be a Peter’s pie. Don’t get me wrong, I’m partial to a peters pie but not for more than £1. I asked if the pie was homemade or bought in & the waitress said it was homemade. I guess the chef thinks like my husband, he says he’s cooked a lasagna after he’s warmed it in the oven. The starters were umm “ok”, similar to man of Gwent so we did expect a little more for a non-chain restaurant. The deserts we actually got refunded for so we won’t comment on those. There’s a reason it’s a set 2 course menu that’s all I will say. We always love to try new places especially pub type food as it’s usually homemade with a nice atmosphere but unfortunately it was our first and last visit. Ordering food which is slowly brought to the table (you have to ask for salt, pepper, vinegar & sauces they didn’t offer these) I was surprised to find we still had to go to the bar to order drinks. I didn’t think it was safe or appropriate for all those children to be in and out the kitchen either. Perhaps something to review. After dining at places like the rock & fountain, the gate etc our expectations were high as your set menu is the same price. Staff were friendly, just the standard of the food in comparison to other places of the same price was not there for us 6 food critics.

Chuffing shyte... Adult-£12 per head Child-£6 per head So x2 adult and x2 children £36 (without beer) Ordered pint of guiness to start. Thought it was bit off. But hey lets try. Firstly come the run of the mill coffee and bland tea. (Prob smart price) £2 for a good jar at aldi. Then came plate of small rectangle sandwiches with crusts cut off, half full of sandwich fillers to share for three adults. (What a let down) followed by bowls of mixed crisps with jugs of very cheap tasting squash. Kids didnt like because they were mixed. (Another let down) Then ordered a worthington which was foul tasting. Went back for another guiness which again was foul. After that it was cakes which looked like cheap bought ones. You can get better mr kipling in a packet. 99p Big dissapointment. Well over priced for what you can get elsewhere. £40 for a bad afternoon tea. Had to go to mcds to at least satisfy the taste buds.

Its ok, not as nice as the images suggests. £7 for kids meal which was two small slices of pizza chips. Some of the sides looked like they been under the hot lamp for some time.

A traditional spit and sawdust pub when you walk in but don't be put off by the lack of modern decor . The food was amazing . I had the chicken wings and double burger and my partner had the pulled beef chilli which was all lovely . Very reasonable price .Staff are really friendly as well . Give this a place a try ,you wont be dissapointed. 👍 from us

We were looking to go here after hearing good feedback, so went for lunch. My burger was very good, thick and juicy, full of flavour, in a brioche bun with all the trimmings, burger sauce etc. Chips were nice too. My wife had a Greek salad with feta, also very nice. The girl serving was pleasant, friendly and efficient. Will definitely go back, recommended!

Food was excellent and was a nice venue ,however service was quite slow and took 30 minutes just to get the bill! Was given the wrong food however when food did eventually come it was delicious just a shame for the shocking service

Recommended by a friend..what a fab place. We had a Sunday roast & it was fantastic. The portions of meat were tremendous. The beef fell apart & the belly pork was lovely too. We hadn't booked, but the staff were obliging & found us a table within 15mins. Service was quick and the meal arrived shortly after ordering. Would definitely recommend.

I was there first time few weeks ago. I was surprised that place in the middle of nowhere can be that good and have so nice,helpful,professional, friendly atmosphere. Loking forward for next visit

Booked due to the advertised menu which wasn't the same when we arrived so a little disappointed. It was busy, so waited an hour for our food after ordering. You could see the dish washer wasnt keeping up the way things were served in the wrong dishes hanging over the edge. The food was good although possibly a little over priced. Won't be rushing back as there were kids allowed to go behind the bar and help themselves to drinks (non alcohol) and they were also walking out the kitchen with food hanging out their mouths.

Food was really nice and the people were freindly..had a seat in the bar area but the only problem was that the sun was blinding..we mentioned this and they soon got it sorted ..i would recommend 👌

Booked this a week ago for afternoon tea for a 40th birthday celebration. Asked for 2x gluten free and they assured us that they could accommodate as so much notice. Turned up today & they denied all knowledge. Then they realised they did have it noted on booking but no one had told the kitchen. Said they could allow us to choose something off the main menu instead. Ruined the whole point of going. No discount or free dessert or anything for their mistake. Didn’t seem that upset. Drove from Dorset for this. Fully upset my wife who was trying to surprise her sister.

Absolutely amazing restaurant for my husbands 50th, food was absolutely fantastic, everyone there said the same, staff were perfect from start to finish, highly recommend The Farmers Arms. Will be returning ASAP for more delicious food and service. XXXXX

Iv always loved it here! Beautiful food. But disappointed with how they treat customers,booked a table for a special occasion and had a call the day of my booking to Say they have changed the menu for the evening to "tapas only" as they have a big party of people going In and they don't want to rush the chef... never heard anything like it! Booked elsewhere and won't return.. Check before you book!

Just had a fabulous Sunday lunch here. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious, it's the tastiest roast dinner we've had in months. I had the beef and it just fell apart, it came as one slice and was about half inch thick. My husband had the pork belly and his was equally as tender. Definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Food was awful, the worst Sunday lunch iv ever had. Potatoes were cold, gravy was tasteless, nicest part was the rolls they give you with the meal, I wouldn't go back here if it was free

My friends had to return their steak to rare. The staff were hard to see to us busy talking behind the bar.

Myself and my husband went to the Farmers Arms goldcliff yesterday for Sunday lunch it was really good and plenty of it.nice and hot .the staff couldn't do enough for us.lovely and clean .the only thing we both said the 3.choices of desserts was poor .it would be nice to see things like apple pie , cheesecake ,crumble and custard. other wise very good will be going back Thankyou

I had the best Sunday roast beef dinner with cauliflower cheese that I have had in a long time. Cannot fault it, would love to come back.

Food here was lovely , and very comfortable chairs whilst eating , staff were a little slow in there service (possibly because if it being busy I don't know) however we took our daughter outside in the playing area , I recommend you don't the amount of flies that were there were awful I have never seen so many weather there was food or something dead out there I do not know but we quickly left due to the amount of them . I've attached a photo not sure if it will show up well but when I say alot I mean alot ! ..

Very pleasant with nice pub grub

Lovely afternoon tea served on little picnic benches. Very good selection of sweet and savoury items. The savoury food was hot and included soup, mini fish and chips, chicken burger etc. A real treat.

Loved the food here was great, service was quick and polite very helpful too as we had my disabled mum with us.

Staff were lovely but not enough of them. Waited 55 minutes for first course and wouldn't have ordered desert if we hadn't promised our grandsons an ice cream. Ordered a child's meal for the 8 year old and an adult one for the 11 year old. This was smaller than the child's meal, so he shared my husbands curry and my salad. Noticed several tables ordered afternoon tea which looked lovely so may try this in the future.

Always have a great welcome from the owners and staff and the food is wonderful. They have stuck to the covid rules with masks hand gels and track and trace.

Good family atmosphere, children welcome lovely meal at a reasonable price. Bar staff were very good efficient and really friendly. Will definitely go back for another meal.

Really nice, friendly pub. Great Ale & prices. Very clean & tastefully decorated & great beer garden. Had homemade burger. Triple cooked chips were fab, sadly the bun was dry. We always look for burger/bap ratio, sadly burger smaller so you get a mouthful of just bread. Will go back
