Nice friendly pub under new management Sam and pete :) The suet pie is too die for and full too the brim unlike some restaurant s !! Parking next door is cheap and only a short walk too town . They do Xmas Sunday lunches at the moment but will resume traditional Sunday lunches after the seasonal period Live music at the end of the week If your shopping in town I recommend u try The Fareham .. Its a nice size pub so that can cope with family’s or a group

New ownership here! Wow food is lovely and staff are so friendly. This pub is definitely worth a visit. I had burger and chips and it was well cooked and fresh. Dog friendly pub. Most of the staff know the dogs name and not ours 😂

New owners just started doing food, tried the sunday roast and it was fantastic, really tasty, lots of fresh veg and more than enough to fill you up.

Just popped in, and found out the Fareham is under new management, new staff seem eager and friendly, although no food at the moment. Hope to get it sorted soon, 3 to 4 weeks. Hope it keeps the standard they had before

Martin once again makes you feel welcome, and your business is wanted. As far as playing pool and not buying anything. You did come into a pub and not buy anything, why not?

Came in for a game of pool,with my husband and our friends! With the intentions of buying a few drinks and ordering food. Sadly we were put off by the unwelcoming atmosphere in the building, We put some music on the juke box and started our game! further more we were then approached by the landlady, who very rudely and abruptly stated that we are in a pub so therefore we are expected to buy drinks and not just play pool!! we felt very uneasy, as we were under the impression, that an establishment such as a “pub” as the landlady put it!! Is ran for its customers, so we believed that we would be able to purchase, the services there at our lesiure!! Not when we are told too, all that needed to be said was a polite “hello would any of you like a drink! But we were talked down too instead, it is also a breach of consumer rights to force sales on customers without their consent! I have visited the fareham quite a few times as the food is good, but have always found the staff exceptionatly rude,which is why we do not come very often! We have only ever been given good service when the young barmaid has served us! unlikely to visit this dive again!

Nice traditional pub a lot of effort has obviously been made to make the place look nice lots of lovely flowers outside. Food very reasonably price and very generous portions. No problems bringing my dog welcome inside and out. I can see the Fareham becoming a firm favourite.

Martin and the staff are spending a lot of time decorating the Fareham, and it looks great. This is a real old fashioned pub with are warm atmosphere and now even more family friendly

The chicken goujons starter was tasty, cooked perfectly too. Scampi and chips was good. Fish and chips was nice, lovely fresh tasting peas, shame there was still skin on the fish. Waiter was friendly, doing his best, but more training and better communication needed. He came to our table twice with the wrong meals before eventually arriving with ours, obviously he wasn't told which table to take the food to. I didn't notice any numbers on tables either, perhaps that would help. Reasonable prices for food and drinks, would be happy to return if in the area. The whole place was clean and looked good as well, made us chuckle to see some of the light fittings had been put in upside down.

I had a Brilliant Sunday Roast Dinner at the Fareham Pub. I. have tried many other venues in Fareham and I would rate the Fareham as the best of them all. The staff.was also must welcoming and this was a real plus as well.

Came down to the Farham on the Sunday have a roast dinner and it was the best one I have had for a very very long time I would like to thank the landlord and and landlady plus the bar staff for making us very welcome

Cheap and ... Cheap. Pub food. Served quickly. No frills. Think brewers fair with slightly less frills ;)

Once again visiting Fareham, and a great welcome from Martin, Diane and Jade. Always happy atmosphere here.

An interesting visit with a disabled colleague. No jugs for his beer but was given two options for alternative vessels. Diana the Landlady then tracked down a glass that will do the job next time which will be kept behind the bar. Staff were very friendly and helpful, big smiles and well trained. We arrived when the restaurant area was fully booked out for Christmas parties but our food was plentiful, hot, tasty and the best value we have seen for a long time. Good menu selection.

It's been a while since I last visited this place. But nothing has changed. It's a straight forward no thrills pub that's serves pub food. All the classics- ham egg chips, burger chips, liver onions, chilli con carne, etc. Good portions and no nonsense. If you want go in have some hot filling food with a half an ale then this place is for you. If you are a pretentious self righteous up yourself person, maybe go elsewhere.

Wonderful to find a pub that still has a dart board, pool table and the ability to serve a decent pint. Well worth a visit for a good night out

Popped in on a Wednesday evening for a beer and it was quiz night...the landlord lays on a buffet for people taking part in the quiz and it was a great evening

Visited on the recommendation of a TripAdvisor review. Had a lovely lunch- generous portions at a reasonable price. Very nice menu and friendly service. I've just moved to the area and have been looking for local places to eat- we'll be going back!

A great pub serving Real Ale. The staff are very friendly. Live music at weekends. A place like this is hard to find these days.

Went to a Saturday gig for the first time, great pub with great locals and staff. Unfortunately the landlord is a bit irritable and moans if you go out the front to order a taxi, instead of explaining his concerns about the volume and neighbours he attacked. Ruined the evening. I personally won't be returning as he could have been nicer about the misunderstanding. Otherwise was a good night.

I must say that the Fareham pub itself is such a lovely welcoming pub but I must say I was really well impressed by the Gents Toilets clean well immaculate lovely smell well lit only thing missing was an old gent with a hair brush and mints really impressive

We chose the Fareham for my daughters 18th Birthday party as it is probably the best pub in Fareham. The staff really look after their customer and keep the idiots out, there is always Live music at the weekend and they do food.We weren't disappointed - we had our own area at the back of the pub that we could decorate however we wanted - the food was great and plentiful - so much food !The band was great and the pub was its usual lively self.We were given everything we needed including bin bags, cutlery, etc etc.I felt safe with the customers the band attracted because the pub is well known for not letting in undesirables which is great .My daughters friends were all asked for ID which I was pleased with and I pre-warned them that they would be asked.All in all a great night in a great pub - great fun !!

Myself and a group of friends were looking for a new local pub that held a quiz night and couldn't be happier that we stumbled upon The Fareham. Right from the offset the Landlord and Landlady were welcoming and friendly and the quiz was a great laugh. As for the food, what can I say, 100% value for money and you certainly won't leave hungry that's for sure. So pleased this is our new local!

Myself and a group of friends we're looking for a new pub that had a quiz and thought we'd try The Fareham. All I can say is we've found our 'Local'. The people are all friendly and welcoming, and the landlord and landlady are terrific and so entertaining. Just had a lovely Christmas meal and we all agreed it was the best Christmas pub meal we've had.Everyone should try here, we love it!

Just been to The Fareham with friends for Christmas Dinner, and it was so good. The service was spot on, thanks Di, the food was hot and most importantly very very tasty, and exceptionally good value.Will have no hesitation in returning in the New Year.

I have visited this pub for pub quiz and food quite a few times now and I have to say, I love it! Extremely friendly staff, very vey tasty home cooked food and a fab quiz!Can't recommend it enough!Go and you won't be disappointed!

We came upon this pub and liked the look of it so we decided to stop and have our last meal in the UK before flying home. what a great idea that was. Great old pub best meal we had, mind you we had some good meals else where. The young lass who served us was a delight, very helpful, very bubbly and just a lovely young lady. We loved the pub so much that we decided that if we moved to the UK that's where we would settle.I recommend if you are visiting the UK take the time to find Fareham and have a meal at the pub

on the 16th July 2016 myself and my new husband held our wedding lunch at the Fareham Right from the start when i asked about having it there the staff were brilliant and so helpful. meals were affordable for everyone coming and were well worth the money. The staff set up the room we had lovely and even put the name tags on the tables. All of my guests were very very pleased. Thank you guys so very very much.All the best from Mr & Mrs Bowman.

I hadn't been to this pub for a while and was very pleasantly surprised. It has been refurbished, the bar staff were efficient and friendly and the prices very reasonable. The little garden looked amazing. Definitely will visit more often.

Very good beer, lovely service, very friendly. Music on some Friday and Saturday evenings. Food is plain but well cooked and tasty

Visited again and Martin and Diane have updated the restaurant area and the back room with very stylish and modern furnishings. The outside areas are very well kept with beautiful flowers and outside pictures on the walls. Went on the Saturday night for the live music and for a Sunday Brunch with my daughter and the portions are indeed generous. There are now large flat screen televisions to watch sport etc and the live music is brilliant. The bar staff are very friendly and helpful - The best thing about The Fareham is there is NEVER any trouble, which makes it one of the only pubs in Fareham to visit and feel safe!

Came to the Fareham to see my friends band and enjoy a few beers.Not been here in many years but after Saturday night will definitely be back.The band -The Targets were brilliant and the pubs atmosphere was friendly, fun and lively. The drinks prices were very good and the staff were friendly and quick to serve our drinks.I got to talk to Martin the landlord while waiting for our taxi at the end of the evening and I found him to be a great friendly Chap.Thanks for a brilliant evening and will be back to see more bands in the future. I had let the pub know that I was meeting some ex work friends and colleagues for a drink to mark my retirement. Arrived to find not only a semi private room had been set aside but a 'small' buffet had also been laid out. Very, very touched by the kindness. The pub has a good choice of real ales, friendly staff, very good food, and a nice atmosphere. Sadly, we didn't get to take part in the quiz but it sounded like good fun and we will definitely come back and have a go! Thank you Martin and Diane for making the evening special.

Made a visit to the pub the other day with my wife & our doggy Shakira, as The Fareham are a dog friendly pub. I ordered the ribs, chips & peas, my wife had Lamb Stew. Neither of us could finish our dinner as the portions were nice and big. The meat fell off the bones in my ribs, and my wife's Lamb was cooked lovely. We will be making a return visit to the pub, so I can work my way through the menu. And also as they are dog friendly. Strongly recommend a visit.

Stopped in for a quick drink to watch England play. Martin the landlord was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. Food that we saw looked delicious. Will definitely return if we are in the area.

My Nan and her friend came to your establishment for a meal having seen a black board outside advertising an All Day Breakfast. Having looked at the menu both decided on Steak Pie which they have described as beautiful although slightly too large on portions for elderly people. Nan saw you had Bread And Butter pudding for a very reasonable price so treated herself to a slice as it's her favourite. Nan was blown away with the "Original" taste of the pudding saying she hadn't had it made that ways in years. Your staff were so friendly to Nan and her friend they couldn't wait to tell me all about it! Both would be back, especially if they felt they wouldn't be wasting so much food having small stomachs. Very good value lunchtime menu. Very friendly and helpful staff, good range of beers and excellent weekend live bands. Owners make a real effort with keeping the place comfortable.

Will drink there again, was really busy because they obviously know how to run a pub!....the young female bar staff member, her name is Kate or something....is totally gorgeous.

Had a great night here spent with all my friends and family of all ages and all were welcomed by owners Martin and Di and their extremely friendly staff. I booked the pub for my 30th Birthday and was offered complimentary use of the Bbq area or I could pay for buffet services. The atmosphere was great and the live music gave a great vibe to a very enjoyable evening. We had a few children with us that were welcomed by the staff. All in all a great pub not only for a few beers but also for functions and family friendly too. Certainly worth a visit!

Visited many times in the past, went in the other day nothing has changed Martin and Di still running a good ship. Many of the old faces still there.

A decent rock band, reasonable prices what could go wrong?Time was called at 23:45, "oh we thought you were open till 01:30" we said to the young pleasant barmaid. "Um well, you need to speak to the landlord".The landlord appeared behind the bar and we said the same to him.In a flash and quite aggressively he said "where did you see this?". Having two bottles of wine & a couple of doubles "er Google" "yes but what website?" "er yours!"He then went on to make excuses about not owning the .co.uk and not having any control over this, his site is the .com. Well would you believe it the .com site says open till 01:30. Okay so we get that he has had a long day and been up since 06:00, if he wants to call time then that's his prerogative. The conversation went around a few times and we left. It turns out that his aggressive defensive demeanour has lost him a couple who have disposable income looking for regular weekend nights out. All he had to say was oops I'll get that sorted. Even maybe to keep the customer happy and perhaps as a last resort "sorry".Don't want to be picky but the website also says Sunday lunch £6.95, on the black board inside £7.95, again misleading.

I recently spent 3 weeks in Fareham area and went to this pub a good few times, Jade made us very welcome (take orange club biscuits :-)) and Martin looked after us very well.. All in all a good top place. Darts, pub quiz all enjoyed

The title says it all.Been coming here for a few months now and I can't think to spend my free weekend evenings in any other pub. From fantastic live music to the most amazing bar staff you could possibly be served by.The landlord, Martin, is an absolute geezer. Always interacting with his guests, talking about the latest football news or anything else, he is what you want a perfect landlord to be. To me, Martin is the hard, solid brick that The Fareham needs and won't let anyone or anything hurt his staff or the pub.The landlady, Diane, is an absolute beaut. I love this woman to bits. Always smiling and very easy to talk too. I love having a chat with Diane and she always makes me feel welcome. Her smile is infectious and always makes me feel happy. She even remembered it was my birthday the other day when I spent the evening here which was a lovely QNT. Diane is the best landlady I have ever come across, and I don't think there is anyone out there who can match her.I can't forget about the classy bar staff. Katie, Jade and Chloe. All three are beautiful young ladies with an amazing smile, personality and a joy to be served by. All different, all perfect.I enjoy my real ale, obviously fussy as I have my own taste, but when I see one on pump that I would like, it's always been kept well and tasted great. If there isn't an ale on that I would like, I move over to Somersby Cider on tap which is always served perfectly chilled with fantastic clean lines. I can't comment on the food because I've not eaten here, but I'm sure it's quality, pub food.The charity work the pub commits to is amazing. They have done so much for the local area. They are a real credit not only to Fareham, but the whole of the country.I can't praise or love this pub anymore if I could. It really is my favourite local.

We visited the Fareham on recommendation and weren't disappointed. Food was plentiful, piping hot and you didn't have to wait too long. That said, if food is freshly cooked to order and comes out piping hot I'm never going to complain. Menu choice was limited but it's better to do a few dishes well than lots of dishes badly in my opinion. Good value for money, advised to book as it get busy particularly on Sunday lunch.

I had a reception for my son's christening here and the service was fantastic. The buffet was exceptional value for money and we were made to feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend.

We had our club Christmas meal at the Fareham and I can only say we had nothing but great service and lovely food all served with a smile. Will definitely return for more food and drink very soon.

we went to the fareham for christmas 2015 on christmas eve the salvation army band came in and played carols to the people in the pub their was about 150 people in the pub and they all had avery good tme

Told off for swearing, wearing a hat inside and finishing a game of pool. Rude staff and no Stella, will visit again because there's a pool table but the staff are horrible.

We visited The Fareham for a works Christmas do (meal and drinks) and we definitely made the right choice. From our initial booking right through to the night The Fareham was very helpful and always contactable, which was a big positive when organising food orders and details for 25 colleagues. Despite a party of 25 people for a 3 course meal and drinks the Fareham staff were very attentive and organised. We arrived to a good atmosphere and fully decorated pub. We sat down in our specially set up area and everything ran like clockwork. The food came out promptly and everyone got just what they ordered. The food was lovey, nice and hot, well presented and VERY good value for money. A great start to our night.After our meal and a few more drinks we left the Fareham for a show but came back after to finish the night with a live band they had on. The atmosphere was great, the band added entertainment to an already good night and the staff provided a great service right the way through. We stayed till closing.I would definitely recommend The Fareham for a place to eat, drink or to have a do; no matter how many people you’re out with.

The landlord and landlady of the Fareham,Martin and Diane do a terrific job at the pub,always raising money for good causes.They are always friendly along with their staff and their food menu has plenty of choices as well as being reasonably priced,would definitely reccommend IT for food and drinks and entertainment

This pub is the best place to go if visiting Fareham, live music most weekends, good food and hospitality and the landlord and landlady are very community focused.Wouldn't want to go anywhere else in town to spend my hard earned cash.Highly recommended

First time we went there food was very good. On a Monday night bit noisy due to darts match. Next time we went was a Sunday. We had the roast. Very disappointed as it was tinned peas and carrots with cabbage as the veg. Meat was very nice though and very reasonably priced.

I recently came for a christmas meal one evening with my partner and her work colleagues. I must say that the not only was the three course meal fantastic and completely fullfilling but the quality of customer service was brilliant and executed in very proffesional manor. We felt at complete ease and really enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere the pub brings. The meals were delivered promptly and we left feeling extremely satisfied with our whole experience.I would highly recommend The Fareham Pub to anyone and i also thank the land lords for their first class hospitality and lovely food we enoyed that evening.

Been here multiple times and have zero complaints. The staff are always nice, they make you feel welcome the second you enter. Only had food a couple of time (scampi both times) and was happy with the taste and impressed by the portion size. They have a wide array of alcohol for sale all at reasonable prices.

I have eaten many breakfasts in many eateries and restaurants, but for freshness and prompt service this was really good. a warm cosy orthentic pub atmosphere was very welcome too. not sure though enough people know of the location to be fair? a must try if you are in passing, will revisit and try something else on their menu.

A meeting with friends for brunch.Warm welcome and pub grub at very reasonable cost. Public car park adjacent and close to town centre.Several steps up at front.Those with mobility problems follow the arrow up the side through gates for access.

Had a fantastic 50 th birthday party here the staff and landlord mr Martin Munns made it a great evening to meet up with old friend and family. Everybody was welcome and nothing too much trouble. The food for the Mexican mariachi night was overwhelming couldn't fault it apart from too much! Not only that Mr Munns would not take any money for it instead asked for a charity donation for thier ongoing guide dog appeal. Great night. Great pub and good food!Thank you

Had read reviews so was expecting good food but was disappointed.The staff were very friendly and. the menu choice was good I had the lamb casserole with dumplings which had been reheated ,had very little lamb and very little flavour.My daughter had ribs which were fine.So maybe I was just unlucky with my choice.

If you fancy a really warm welcoming pub, attentive, friendly staff and are looking for excellent food with above average portions then look no further!I've just moved into the area from Devon and having read a couple of good reviews about The Fareham, we (as a family of 4 adults) decided to book a table and try the place out and we weren't disappointed.I will be returning again in the very near future.

We had parked in the car park next door, we wanted to look round town and get something to eat as it started raining we decided to try The Fareham so glad we did the food was great!! we had the all day breakfast and priced at £3.99 it was great fat free and very filling the staff were lovely too so glad we called in if your in the area give them a try

The food was surprisingly good, the outside area was lovely in the sun which also made for a very nice atmosphere which my mum and I could talk it. Although it was on the one way system the sound of the cars couldn't really be heard. There was also a very lovely bar maid with black hair who instantly made you feel welcome and was very helpful. Would defiantly recommend this place!

Cannot fault it! Nice warm welcome on arrival. Bearing in mind there were nine of us and had not booked we were welcomed brilliantly. A wide range of food ordered from different meats with roast dinner and various other meal but food all came quickly, together and piping hot. Very polite staff and a family friendly pub with areas set aside if you are looking for a bit of quiet. Nice range of beers and soft drinks and very resonably priced. Highly recommend a visit!

Cannot understand the last review. We were made very welcome on Friday 27th February 2015. Called in for lunch. Could not find fault with anything. Our food was delicious. I had the Liver and onions with Mash which was perfect. Quite a large portion which unfortunately I could not finish but it was excellent. My husband had the Steak, mushroom and onion pie with a very nice portion of home cooked chips, again a excellent choice. Will return again to sample more of the varied choices on the menu. Well done to the Chef and the very friendly and polite Bar Manager.

We popped in for Sunday Lunch and were more than happy with the whole experience. The food itself was delicious, two of our party had a Sunday Dinner with Pork and the others, chicken. The portions themselves were quite big and we all left with appetites satiated. Desserts were offered, a nice selection I thought, but we didn't any room.Service was attentive, prompt and efficient. It is also family friendly and children's portions are available. The dining area itself is small but not in an oppressive way, it's actually quite cosy. The other tables soon filled up with other diners and I'm not surprised. Good food, reasonable prices and a warm welcome.

We booked our pre-Christmas dinner here as we wanted Christmas Day but it sold out sooo quickly! Excellent food, excellent service and excellent value for money. Gonna book in January for Christmas 2015, don't care what's in the menu just guessing it's turkey, just so we don't miss out Christmas 2015!

My sister had her wedding reception here recently due to short notice. The food was great (nobody could eat it all there was too much) and the bar staff very friendly.

me and my family were in the Fareham recently with my 4 year old and 5 month old and the staff couldn't be nicer to us,my 4 year old had a lovely childrens meal very cheaply and it was very nice.i would recommend the Fareham to any family who is visting Fareham.the staff were very friendly and martin was very nice too,will look forward to visiting again.

I decided to take my in laws who were down for the holidays and my family for an evening meal after reading recommendations on trip advisor. Suffice to say the pub, the service and the food was first class and lived up to our expectations. The lovely Jade and the owners Diane and Martin provided a first class service and looked after us and the children throughout, with nothing being to much trouble for them. The food was excellent and the portions fit for a king and very reasonably priced. All agreed that we will def be back again to what surley must be the best pub in Fareham

Fantastic bar staff, beer, atmosphere and food. The owners are always present and easy to speak to made to feel right at home! Highly recommend even for just one pint!

The young blonde girl behind the bar was bang tidy!The managers Martin and Di are lovely!!!Lovely pub. Locals pub. But at as an outsider to Portsmouth area. Made to feel very welcome. Just be conversational and the staff and locals are great!
