Perfect for an overnight stop. A very pleasant small pub with rooms, excellent beer and what looked like good food (we didn't eat there (or anywhere) having had a large lunch). The room was clean and airy and the bathroom and shower were good. Very good place to stay at a reasonable price if breaking up a journey. Handy for Heathrow as well

We have been eating in the other two pubs in Denham for many years and decided to give the falcon a go as we had never been in, let’s just say we won’t be going back!! The young lad behind the bar was friendly and welcoming although the inside of the place is like a transport cafe with no atmosphere at all. Menu was very limited but we decided to give it a try. Food was ok but the service was terrible, the young lady who served us was rude and not someone I would want facing customers if I owned the Pub. The bill came to £170 for four pub meals which included a 10%service charge, way too much for some soup and ham egg and chips! Do yourself a favour and walk on by…….

Great little find. Stayed for two nights in the garden room. Spacious room, great hot powerful showers. We had a really warm welcome from staff and locals alike. Didn’t eat a meal at pub but did have some amazing chips as a snack. Couple of points: only two hangers in wardrobe. Complimentary breakfast could be ‘padded out’ a bit more. Maybe some yoghurts and biscuits…? Place is ideal for any concerts at Wembley. Denham station to Wembley was easy.

Sorry to say that the Cottage Pie I had here for lunch yesterday was disappointing. Bland and watery and most surprisingly not served with any vegetables. Would have at least expected a small portion of carrots or peas, but no, it was just presented on its own in a dish on an empty plate with a small jug of extra gravy. This was not necessary anyway as it was already quite sloppy. Very poor for £13.50! Having said that the rest of our party enjoyed their food so it looks like I may have just been unlucky.

Our second stay at this wonderfully authentic pub. It doesn’t style itself to be ‘gastro’, but the food is great with a good choice, the service is second to none and the rooms comfortable, spacious and well cared for. Oh yes, and the Ale is well looked after. This is a pub we hope never changes owners.

We stayed at the Falcon while doing the London Loop walk. The staff were really friendly. A couple of drinks and great fish and chips before going up to the room. We had the Dickens room. Olde world features but really comfy bed and all you would expect and more. Tea and coffee making facilities and juice cereal and fruit in the room for light breakfast. Cooked breakfast was option but this was enough for us. All this in a delightful village setting. Would thoroughly recommend the Falcon.

I have not been our a great deal since the pandemic began so it was nice to have a very positive and relaxed experience at the Falcon. They should be commended on their efforts to put safety measures in place. I can see a review further down has made a negative comment about being made to hand sanitise upon coming in when they had already done so - but I saw this as a positive sign that this establishment is taking pains to keep customers safe, please keep it up! Staff were friendly and we had a very enjoyable, well made lunch.

Visiting the area for the first time. Appreciating the COVID-19 rules but we’re berated as soon as we enter the pub. Having reassured the landlady we had just sanitised our hands, she wasn’t accepting and basically excused us of not doing so. New customers entering our pub for the first time should welcomed, not excused of lying. Very disappointing. Proceeded to go to another pub in the village and spend with them. Given the pub trade is struggling, it’s surprising that landlords/ ladys aren’t trying to promote themselves

Myself and a friend took advantage of the 25% off food offer in October and we weren't disappointed. We sat in the lovely beer garden out back, which when it got darker, was lit up with lovely lights. The food was delicious. I had the fish pie and my friend had the toad in the hole. Great drinks to wash it down. Covid measures in place, so all good. The one thing which could be improved is another light in the pathway at the side as it is quite dark and the light only comes on halfway through, at which point one might have already tripped over. The bill was reasonable and I was pleased to hear from the bar girl/waitress that the service charge is passed on to the staff. We were happy to pay for the great table service and that goes for drinks only too.

Our lunch at The Falcon, was one of the best meals we have had this summer. I had the pan-fried sea-bass which could be served in any of the best restaurants. It was beautifully cooked, a must try for any new visitors. The pork belly was mouth watering, served with a delicious caramelised barbeque sauce. The bubble and squeak was yummy and the ham and chips, was comfort food at its best. The service from both the waiters could not have been more attentive.Well done the Chefs and all at The Falcon. If you have still to try the new set up, I would encourage you to book. If you like good food and drink, no better place.

This place is terrible never will I step foot in this shabby dump again, the lady behind the bar was so rude towards me & my partner, we entered the pub & asked if the garden was busy as of the COVID 19 situation many pubs are full outside at the moment to which she replied I don’t know I haven’t been in the garden for ages with a rude sarcastic attitude which means if they don’t know how many people are in the garden they are not controlling how many people are entering the pub during these times! We left the pub without buying anything as did not feel welcome & went onto the coach & horses in Harefield to which was a much better choice with polite staff & amazing views. I have gave this a 1 star as no option for zero stars. If your reading this do your self a favour & don’t go here unless you want a bad day out!! & if your the owner reading this look at your reviews they are do something about it or give the pub to someone that knows what they are doing.

We had Sunday lunch there today (3 people). The baked potato was fine (one cannot go wrong with a baked potato and cheese). My husband, however, was not particulary happy with his burger as he could taste that is was made from a frozen one. Each time we had been eating at this lovely pub before the food was good and the burgers were freshly made (that is how they tasted anyway). Also, the food had always been inexpensive, was fair - not overpriced "Denham" prices for food like other pubs in Denham Village have. All of a sudden (when?) the prices have gone up (to match the two other pubs?) to being too expensive and the food is not what it was anymore (new chef?). Too expensive in general and for what you get. We paid almost £48 for 3 mineral waters, 2 burgers (came with fries and a salad garnish) and a baked potato with cheese and a little bit of salad! They also started to put a service charge of 10% on top of the bill which came to nearly £48 as mentioned! Far too expensive now. What a pity as it is a nice pub.We felt it was a rip-off hence only 2*. But to be fair I want to mention the young waitress in particular and the older gentleman who both served us: they were very friendly! The Falcon must have lost a lot of customers due to those bad changes.Should we go there again it will only be for a drink.

Visited on a Sunday and alarm bells should have gone off as the place was empty. Ordered drinks from a guy who wasn’t very friendly, and took an age to find a drink from the fridge, with us doing an imitation of Bernie the Bolt from the Golden Shot - “Left. Down. No right..” etc. Ordered chips (on their own) and a cottage pie. The chips came up and had a hair on them, the cottage pie had mince in it that looked like it had been unravelled from a ball of wool. I took one mouthful and it was tasteless, but seeing the state of the mince was enough to put me off. Both meals were left on the table and we left. 20 quid down the drain. Went down to Greggs at Beaconsfield Services for something edible. Not impressed and definitely won’t be back.

Difficult to judge a small village pub late on a weekday lunchtime, but this seems like a place that's doing it's job perfectly well but not exceptionally. The atmosphere was friendly and the drinkers/diners already there when I called in seemed to be having a good time. The service is friendly and welcoming. The pub has a reasonable amount of space inside, split into three separate rooms, two at the front and one at the rear. Then there's a quite big garden area at the rear, part of which is covered. There's a good selection of real ales and multi-national branded lagers. Given that there are three pubs close together in this quaint and very up market Buckinghamshire village, competition is everything, so I'm guessing that being the first of the pubs on the way into the village from the main road will give the Falcon an advantage. Overall, a nice pub.

Ah the food ? Yes the Sea Bass was good, very good and puddings superb, so good I had to order another ! I will certainly return here on my next visit, I thoroughly recommend The Falcon.

We called in at this beautiful, elegant place after booking at the awful Denham Grove down the road. The welcome was pleasant, prices reasonable, decor lovely . Sadly wasn't staying but will in future.

Stopped for lunch prior to walk around beautiful English village. "Greeted" by landlady whose attitude seemed abrupt, however, we quickly realised that was her humour! With the cider "empty" and the chosen ale "off" we were offered what was available and great taste too. Choose the fish and chips with mushy peas - excellent. Our lady showed us through to the rear garden, passed a clean and empty lounge area. Would return as attractive property, good food and well priced. Much more relaxing and uncrowded than The Green Man and The Swan which are nearby and certainly cheaper. Will definitely return and thanks to both Landlady and Chef.

The pub has just undergone a refreshing of the interior. It looks lovely. This is a small, friendly place with indoor as well as outdoor space for dining or just drinking. Located adjacent to the Denham Village Green, the view is lovely as well.

The traditional character remains at The Falcon and the food is, as ever, excellent both in quality and price. Compare this to The Green Man - long wait for (still) less than perfect delivery and The Swan (crickey they're expensive) - which is primarily a gastropub and The Falcon becomes a default choice. Add in the live music, falconry displays, Morris Men and the general ambiance that they've deliver so effortlessly and you'd be daft to anywhere else. The waiting time for food is conveniently short, the beer excellent, and the wine palatable (though it's a limited cellar by comparison to The Swan). , though we could afford the Swan or Da Remo's if we wanted the additional flair. If you like curries but don't mind waiting for more complex dishes then The Fat Cow on the edge of the village provides an antidote to village cuisine. Having tried them all, as locals (10 minute walk there - can be considerably longer walking back), this is the pub we go to for 90% of our meals out, and drop into for a chat with friends. You are assured of warm welcome and pleasant memories. Check their website for special events and their B&B facility.

Stayed 2 nights. Rooms clean, good sized and quiet. Beats a big hotel any time in my book. Can't fault the staff. Maybe some people attract rudeness from staff? Food and drink priced as expected for this part of UK.

We recently visited the Falcon which is an cute country pub having previously dined there in December 2012 and had really good food and service. Alas, that experience was not to be repeated. We were greeted kindly - but unfortunately there were no arrangements for children (no children's menu or high chairs - which was a shame, since we had 3 of them with us!). We basically wanted fish and chips, which was on a special early dining deal of £6. The wait for the food was about 30 mins, and I wasn't aware of any other diners putting in orders. When the meals arrived, they were really small and lacking the peas advertised on the main menu. When I queried this, I was told that the meals were small and lacking peas because they were part of the early evening 'deal'. WHAT DEAL??? I wanted to explain to the management (but actually couldn't be bothered, since I had come out for a nice meal, not a contretemps), that a 'deal' is when you are offering the usual item for a reduced rate, or similar, not when you are offering half the food for just over half the money. I'd rather have paid the full price and had an edible, reasonably sized portion….. Anyway, back to the food… where the fish, which was allegedly hand cooked in beer batter, was leaving a yellowy tinge on the plate. The batter was really unpalatable and vaguely spicy. The plate had bizarrely been sprinkled with something. Paprika? We nibbled instead at the dry fish inside the weird batter. The chips tasted as though they had been cooked in fishy oil which urgently needed changing. Apart from the lack of a 'deal' the most laughable part of the evening came when I was asked by a member of staff if everything had been OK. So I said, "no - the batter was really quite unpleasant and we couldn't eat it". To which the response was, 'that's £22.45, please". Now, that, my friends, is customer service. Well, at least I hadn't wasted a fortune in this joint, back to which I will not be rushing. There's plenty more fish in the sea!

I met with a customer before going to look at a project we are working on in the area, the customer had ordered a meal and a drink before I met him and he was consuming this, I sat down at the table with him but did not order anything to drink, after five minutes the owner came over to our table and asked what I would like to drink, I said that I would not have anything and thanked him for asking, at that point he (the owner) blasted out to me that it was not an office in a very rude manner, taking into account that my customer had already spent around £12 on his meal and drink I felt that this was totally out of order seeing that the place only had two other people in it.

The Falcon used to be one of our favourite eating places, somewhere that we recommended to others and used to host business guests. However, for a variety of reasons, we hadn’t dined there for some time and when we returned recently, we were extremely disappointed.Upon arrival, the greeting from the owner was somewhat curt and immediately made us feel rather less than welcome. As we were passed the menus, we were informed that ‘the ham egg and chips - the eggs haven’t been delivered yet’, no ‘sorry’. Then, when we enquired about the specials board referred to on the menu, we were told ‘there aren’t any today’ again no apology. Forget ‘Mein Host’, to us this seemed more a case of ‘Mein Hostile’Now let’s get one thing clear from the outset. The Falcon may be a pub but the prices charged for its food are as high as very many restaurants. The starters were very small, particularly given the prices, and not very well presented, whilst the soup was served lukewarm. We then had to endure a 40 minute wait between our starter and main courses being served. Several times we were promised ‘your main courses won’t be long’. When ‘won’t be long’ became very long, this was followed by several apologies for the delay from the waitress. When the meals eventually arrived, we were told that the delay was due to the fact that the stuffed chicken breast had to be cooked from scratch. However, at that point, just three out of four meals were brought to the table and we all had to wait another 5 minutes for the sea bass to appear! The burger was OK (difficult for anyone to get that wrong), although it was served in what resembled a cheap supermarket burger bun. The chicken was meant to have been stuffed with cheese and chorizo but the latter was noticeable by its scarcity. The chicken itself was anaemic with no sign of browning, despite the time taken to cook it. The accompaniments were sautéed potatoes (not properly prepared) and a small portion of what appeared to be frozen sweet corn and chopped peppers spread thinly around the plate. The sea bass was a small piece that had broken into two in the process of being completely overcooked. It was served with boiled potatoes and overcooked carrots and parsnips.Meanwhile the table next to us were still waiting for their meals - ordered not long after us. We had finished our meals by the time theirs arrived (again two diners had to wait some time for their companions to receive theirs) and we were staggered to see that they had been waiting that long for fish and chips and a chicken with noodles dish. The lady who had ordered the noodles requested some soy sauce (a fairly typical condiment for noodles) but was told that there wasn’t any!Had the pub/restaurant been busy, the delays might have been more understandable, though still not excusable. However, on the day in question, it was a relatively quiet weekday lunch with only two or three tables occupiedInterestingly enough, both our table and the one next to us had guests with recent experience of dining in the US and both could be heard commenting on the very stark difference in service standards.Rather than repeatedly promising that ‘your food won’t be long’, and then, when that promise was clearly wearing thin, starting to apologise repeatedly for the delay, an offer of a reduction in the bill or a complimentary drink might have been more fitting and helped compensate for the lengthy waits. Some time after our table was cleared, we were finally asked whether we would like a desert. The menu (singular) was delivered with several of the items crossed through. Having again waited some time, in vain, for someone to come and ask for our order, we decided to cut our losses and go to the bar to pay our bill. And that was where insult was added to injury. No enquiry as to whether we were happy, no apology for the lengthy waits, just a request for the best part of £90. That for starter and main (including ‘low’ cost items such as soup of the day and burger and chips) for four people, a pint, a small glass of wine and a couple of soft drinks.Maybe we should have said something. However, it was a special occasion for us, as our daughter had just flown home from university in the states and we didn’t want to spoil it. Furthermore, if the owner and staff can’t spot when their service offering is so dreadfully poor, then perhaps they shouldn’t be in the hospitality business.

Very Friendly and helpful staff with a great atmosphere within. Large bike friendly part-covered beer garden (important in variable weather). Food was good, solid but not magic, quality ingredients but uninspired classic menu, portions medium sized. Good selection of beers and three ask ales. Sheppy cider and local ales a must after a long cycle!

Top place for a carvery. We come here frequently. Staff are really lovely and it's a nice atmosphere, unlimited soft drinks are well worth it. Lots on offer but be careful booking a table late in the evening as there's a higher chance they'll run out of meat. Heartbroken you've taken the dauphinoise potato/hot pot dish off the carvery. Please bring it back! My only complaint is needing to get the drinks on the table a bit quicker. We're often still waiting for them after having already started our meals. Lots of discounts and deals available if you sign up to their mailing list or download the app so that's worth doing too.

We come here quite often, for special occasions, birthdays etc. Today, I had quite literally one of the best steaks, I've ever had. Period. The chef deserves a massive raise! It was cooked perfectly. Starters (calamari, koftas and camebert) and drinks all came out hot, promptly and were all scrumptious! Mains (steaks, chicken supreme tagliatelle, pie and burger) were all fantastic! So stuffed, couldn't manage dessert, but thank you so much! Hats off, Palmers Arms has done it again!!
