Went to cafe in Edinburgh Woollen Mill Southport. Very disappointed. Would not visit again or recommend this cafe to anyone. It was as if the staff couldn't be bothered to make a proper sandwich or didn't know how. The advert outside the shop isn't what you receive inside. Give it a miss. Tesco meal deal better value

Stumbled onto this tea room .... you don't expect one at an Edinburgh Woollen Mills Store. But head upstairs into a vintage tea room era. So as is this is a first time here then I will use my formula below to rate. FOOD: Lovely and they do a butty and soup deal and have exotic home made dishes of the day. And the coffee was excellent. PRICE: Very reasonable £3-4 for the soup and butty deal. SERVICE / STAFF: Super friendly and helpful ... nothing was too much trouble AMBIENCE: That vintage tea / coffee parlour vibe with original stuff all around and lots of wood. FACILITIES: The reason it drops that final star .... the bogs are done in and in a poor state and need ripping out and refurbishing.

I called here with my daughter monday afternoon. We both had a panini The presentation was awful the so called side salad was a limp lettuce and colslaw slapped on a plate !! My daughter doesnt like Mayonnaise. We were not asked if we both wanted colslaw ? We ordered 2 coffees 1 latte 1 capuchino . The service was really slow !plus i had to wait at the counter...... when i asked if i could go and wait at the table .The look of contempt from the waitress was very upsetting . After 10 minutes the coffee was served onto my tray . Got to my table , then my daughter asked which is yours ? She realised they had gvn us 2 latte??? Went back to the counter . Then when the food arrived .it was very disappointing 😞 a few pence short of £20 was a complete waste of my money !!! VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER !!!

Visited mid week in Mid January at 1.45. Ordered baked potatoes with prawns. Lady behind counter looked at the time and told us there were no potatoes left (there were 5 on the counter behind her). She also told us they had no prawns. Eventually ordered soup, cheese and onion sandwiches and toasted bun with our drinks. Waited ages for the food and when it came the bun had been forgotten. Sandwiches thick, dry with little or no butter. Filling adequate. Soup thin and watery. Bun cold and unbuttered when it did arrive 5 minutes later. What a miserable cafe experience! No wonder only two tables were occupied. One to avoid.

Very disappointed. Went for lunchtime sandwich. Husband had cheese and onion toastie which he said was lovely. Plenty of cheese and good amount of onion. I however was very disappointed with my panini. I chose a Bacon,(which was underdone so the fat was still limp and fatty), Chicken, which was fatty sliced chicken (I expected chicken breast) and mozzarella cheese, which was orange and definitely not mozzarella, at £5.50 I expected more. The restaurant area wasn't particularly great either although clean. Toilets need a facelift too.

Having to keep a diminutive South Korean happy who was looking for a 100% cashmere scarf (apparently cheaper in the UK) and wanting to sample a traditional afternoon tea, we ventured in this direction to kill two birds with one stone. Unfortunately the scarves were only in tartan and made her look like a Bay City Rollers fan but the afternoon tea was very good. The cafe is situated over the shop and is very pleasant with a nice view over Lord Street. For around £15, we received two rounds of sandwiches (the prawns were excellent, the chicken a bit basic -- we should have gone for the cheese and pickle), two large scones with jam and clotted cream (brilliant but no good for the diet) and two cupcakes (too sugary for me but a great hit with South Korean tastes). Untraditionally, we enjoyed a large pot of very good filter coffee. Highly recommended!

A small, compact cafe with a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. Definitely a cut above the average park cafe - nice coffee and a good selection of cakes and traybakes. The breakfasts looked good as well.

I briefly popped into Waterfields today and I was very pleasantly surprised at the selection. The cakes and snacks were extensively stocked behind the counter and were very reasonably priced at under £2 each. I bought a cupcake with vanilla cream on top which was delicious! The staff serving were friendly, polite and efficient. You can also sit in to eat, if you wish. The only issue was that the loaves of bread/toasties were running out, then again it was 3pm so this was understandable. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit!

Expensive for what you get. Service was great but you can feel the place is just designed to get as much money as they can for what little they give

This used to be a good bar but is now just a high priced dog compound. 9 dogs in this very small bar. Wouldn't order food given the smell of dogs and lack of washing of hands by bar staff after feeding treats to the dog. Don't bother, there are better alternatives in Formby.
