Fab roast - stunning massaman gravy and beaut pigs in blankets 🤤 Defo somewhere to check out!

Roasts were divine, the Massaman one was top tier, lovely pints and service

Food was lovely. The place was rammed when we first entered but calmed down over a couple of hours. Good prices on food, like Thai food with a twist.. Worth a visit

Just do it! Thai food is second to none. Amazingly fresh, piquant and packed with flavour. Perfect for a mid week (or any day) chilled out lunch in an old school bar environment. Bar staff are stickin out (Norn Iron complimentary colloquialism) too

Not sure what the food tasted like as waited 45 minutes before we were told it would be another half hour!!!!! Be honest with your customers before taking their money!!!!

Currently our favourite pub to go to, chilled atmosphere and staff. Cocktails are great and a good selection of beers. Thai food is delicious too.

Honestly, what did it for me was the portion size of the food and the flavors! Best Thai food I have had so far in Brighton! Their lunch main menus are quite pocket friendly!

Came here on a Friday. Was very busy but service was fine. We got a pint and a cocktail. The cocktail was a pronstar martini, which wasn't that great. Better options for pubs around

Popped into The Eagle pub in Brighton to catch a Euro 2024 match, and it was brilliant! The atmosphere was buzzing with footie fans, and the big screen made it feel like we were right there at the stadium. The grub was top-notch; proper pub classics with a bit of a gourmet twist. The fish and chips I had were spot on, best I’ve had in ages. There are plenty of great beers and ales to choose from, too. The staff were lovely and really on the ball, which made the whole experience even better. And, it's pet-friendly, so my dog could join in on the fun. If you’re after a cosy pub with cracking food, a great vibe, and a place to watch the game, The Eagle is the place to be!

Was served by a really nice fella called Matt, he helped me pick out a nice larger that I loved. He helped me pick out the best curry aswell. Amazing service

We came here with a group of friends for a celebration because historically it was a great pub to spend sunny days at. All has changed. Thet served us mouldy soda water which they admitted was stinky once i mentioned it. The food was awful and overpriced-no one enjoyed their meal. Some of the staff were quite rude to us and a friend got locked in the toilet. Overall it was a very disappointing experience. Much better off going accross the road to basket makers as the Eagle has crash landed

Overcharged. Over £30 for three half pints, no response after various emails.

It's ok - it's pretty obvious why the Basket Makers, opposite, was full on a Monday evening and the Eagle much quieter. The Eagle feels like more of a corporate pub - it's got that bland essence to it. Not in a significant way, but like too many Brighton pubs - the same overpriced ales from the same style taps etc. It's fine, elsewhere in the country it'd be great, but in Brighton it feels a touch bland.

Ambience and service is very good

The atmosphere is like a cold wet cloth. But the people make it. I once kissed a long hair bucktooth man here that looked like he was from Hanson. Many people have told me secrets I'd rather forget but then what's memory but a rollerdecks of pondering. I spill my shots, but Jessica said shoot your shot so i did. It's a great place to write a post card to your mum you might send or make a pact with a kind soul. Anyway what am I like I haven't even told you about the staff the do so much with so little and the location is to die for. If you ever find yourself of a Tuesday I recommend anther establishment but for the most part it's a great place to catch up on your coripondense and eat a vegan ham sandwich 🥪 😉

I'm so fed up of paying £18 for a Sunday roast and receiving a kids sized portion, being ripped off just leaves a bad taste in your mouth! Literally our whole group of 11 was still hungry and disappointed with the food here. The taste wasn't bad, it was the pathetic portion that was the problem. Either charge £18 for a huge roast that people struggle to finish or charge £9 for the portion we received. It's an absolute joke. We used to go out almost every week for a roast when it was £10-12 just a couple of years ago and you were stuffed afterwards but now it's more like once every 3-6 months because the prices and tiny portions don't make it enjoyable any more. Seriously just give us 5 or 6 potatoes and we'd be a lot happier, it would cost you about 15p!

Superb place. Re visited today and had some excellent Thai food.

The food was simply amazing. I still dream about the pork belly dish and can’t wait to be back and have it again. Love it

Fantastic Asian food! Definitely one of the better pubs for food, if you can get a table.

So the food is REALLY good! I don't love the seating options though, it can definitely fit a bunch of people but none of the seats are comfortable and everything is so close together you're perpetually sharing your table with a stranger.

Nice pub. Food served pretty late. Clean, spacious, joce crowd. A bit on a pricey side though- pint is about 6-7 quid and bottle of wine is 30.

A delicious and good value Thai lunch away from the crowds. Good mulled wine and a good pint, couldn't ask for more. Had the panang pork belly and the prawn rice, very good food indeed! Will definitely stop here again. Thank you!

The tap range, though craft, is mainstream - for example, the guest beers were Lucky Saint (0.5% abv) and Gamma Ray. Though its great to see 'alcohol-free' style beers on tap, £6.50 for a pint seems steep. Food was great though. We both had a Pad Thai which includes Chicken, tofu and prawn as standard - perhaps a little too sweet but very enjoyable. Lots of other Thai options, all of which seems popular with the the Monday evening crowd.

Always a great roast, meats are good, great selection of veggies and roast potatoes, would like a few more spuds but overall the roast is consistently good. The atmosphere is chilled and the staff are friendly

Just had a lunch here with an old work friend on a Wednesday lunchtime. Thai food is restaurant quality. Kitchen is subcontracted out, cooked and served by Thai people. The food is fantastic. Very good value. Irish chap behind the bar was top notch. Deffo a 10/10 for a mid week lunch.

Disgusting treatment to customers. I am absolutely appalled by the treatment from the manager. When trying to raise an issue with the manger, she ( Northern Ireland lady with dyed platinum blonde hair and nose ring) told me quote on quote that she “had better things to do than listen to me”. My friends and I had been drinking in the pub for 2 hours prior to this. After two hours We were refused to be served and were asked to leave my the managed as one of our party ( who is 26) did not have a physical ID card, but had a photo on their phone. We wanted to discuss this further when the above interaction with the manager occurred. We have ever been treated like this before and will never return to an establishment who will not listen to their customers.

Love it here. We had a work do, lots of us. Great place, friendly staff and a really good menu. Food was lovely and served quickly. Thanks for a fun night

An absolutely superb roast, plenty of great beers, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere.

Great little Gem tucked away.. Nice food and good selection of beers and wine. The service was brilliant, visited on a Sunday and had the roast dinner washed down with a few beers watching England v Fiji in rugby.

The Thai food here is some of the best I've had! I've been to Thailand and this food is authentic. It also is very cheap compared to other food in Brighton. Lively staff, clean place and good music. Slightly slow service.

Unbelievable thai food, great atmosphere

Going to be honest considering I’m vegan I was surprised that across two visits just how good the vegan food on offer was. Even a good selection of zero beers. Good service well priced

Roast potatoes to be ashamed off. The worst roast dinner I've eaten for a long time. Beef over done and chewy. The roast potatoes tasted like they had been cooked days ago. Gravy was obviously just granules. No pride in their food. Felt cheated.

The best Thai in town with no doubt! The atmosphere is great, staff and service efficient and courteous… what else? A must try, highly recommended

Got a pint of Aspall for £6 - pretty regular, though could be slightly colder. Also had a beef roast & pork roast - beef was excellent, while pork was slightly dry & the crackling was a bit tough. Yorkies were excellent, and so were the vegetables. Minor downside is that the food took ~40 minutes to arrive for us - to be fair, it did seem quite busy.

Went for a roast here the other day. Lovely smiley staff! Really nice pub, roast chicken was delicious. Loads of meat, yorky. Only downfall, very stingy on the veg (I never understand why when it’s the cheapest element?!) half a carrot, couple bits of kale, one brocolli stem and some red cabbage. Everyone commented on the lack of veg which would’ve taken this to a 5/5! I would say better than the roast across the road at the basketmakers because their roast potatoes were so bad!

Great pub, proper thai food - tucked away so an eager crowd that are mostly Brighton and not many ‘walk-ins’. The food (made by Thais) is good, but there is a lot of rice and not much sauce so it can be very dry. They explained they do this as the sauce is very hot, to which I suggested more sauce, less hot, chillis on the side. I now ask for the rice to come separately, and they’re very happy to do that, hence still five stars.

Went for drinks and Thai food last night. The food was really excellent. A great choice of small plates and larger curries and noodle dishes; several vegetarian and vegan options. Very reasonably priced too. Will definitely be back.

Went there for a Sunday roast and it was so delicious! I had the veggie wellington and it was some kind of mushroom mix and it tasted so good and the extras were amazing! Definitely worth it ! We got cauliflower cheese on the side and some extra gravy and I’d recommend doing that. The broccoli was a bit hard and the potatoes a bit burnt and it could’ve done with some more proportion of the vegetables because it was quite carby but overall a really nice and super filling roast! The service was really good and it was nice to sit on the outside benches in a not too busy part of Brighton :)

Lovely pub and food but wouldn’t go back as two pints of Diet Coke £9.60, don’t mind paying over the top but when you feel like having the mick taken out of you with prices like that for not drinking alcohol its enough to put me off going back

Came here with my parents and some family friends for drinks and dinner on a Friday evening. I had the Udon goong which was yummy. We also tried the squix which was really good. It's nice to come to a pub that provides thai food which differs from the norm

I've been going to this pub for many years on and off and it's a great place to stop for a drink. The Thai food is also out of this world!

Nice vibe in the pub, good drinks available, the Thai food is beautiful and refreshing to have on a pub menu. The staff are also friendly and care.

Busy busy busy, noisy but good service, pricey for out of towners but good choice of drinks. I liked it.

This pub has a ridiculous policy for off pints. Just visited with my boyfriend who ordered a Guinness. He drinks Guinness all of the time so knows how it should look and taste. It was not clearing properly and had a very strange aftertaste as if it was off. He told the barmaid who refused to pour him a fresh pint or even a pint of a different beer. She said it was company policy. We therefore had to hand back both drinks and go elsewhere as the Guinness was not drinkable and we didn’t feel we should have to pay for a fresh pint. It’s a shame because we like this pub but they’ve now lost our business in future for the cost of replacing one off pint.

Lovely pub. Close to the lanes but just far enough to keep a quiet atmosphere.

Thai food is sometimes superb, sometimes a bit meh and slow. I can only assume it depends on who is cooking it. The pub has a good selection of drinks on tap and the staff are always friendly. There are cosy booths and tall group tables and it manages a cosy and airy atmosphere at the same time. Toilets are upstairs and in a reasonable condition for Brighton though I was unable to find any baby changing facilities, a great shame as the space is good for lunch.
