Lovely busy atmosphere. The barman Finn was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and current offers which was really helpful as we had received a £5 off code by email. He was very patient while we decided on food. The meals we had were very nice and we will definitely return soon. We were made to feel very welcome.

Lunch for under £22 with drinks in Brighton isn't heard of. We had the chicken katsu curry. Delicious and huge portions. Sauce was one of the best I've tried. Great for pub grub. Definitely go again

I’ve been a couple of times recently in the early evening, once with my family for a bite to eat. The staff have always been nice, smiley and attentive. Were happy to bring a Guinness to me rather me wait at the bar. Made a very slight mistake on a food order and when I mentioned it they went way beyond to make up for it. Service like this will keep us coming back over and over again. Thank you. 🙏🏼

we’ve just moved here and love this pub! this is our new local. kind and chatty staff, food and drinks are good and reasonably priced. Levi is one of the loveliest staff members, she always has a smile on her face and pours a great guinness.

I go to this pub after playing football every Tuesday and every time I am welcomed with a smile. The bar staff are very nice, especially a lad named cally. Great food, great aura and great service. I definitely recommend.

Very nice breakfast brunch Toilets spotless A very well presented pub will definitely visit again. Only downside tables and chairs not ideal for dining at due to no comfortable height foot spar. They look nice but are not comfortable.

Great locals pub. Plenty of food and drink choices. All of the bar staff are fab! Couldn’t fault any of them and they are always so friendly and welcoming ❤️ The best nights have been when they have had live music on….hopefully there will be more of those in the future - the atmosphere has been brilliant!

Popped in for some food on the way home to Essex after a day in Brighton. One member of staff was rude to other members of staff in front of customers and wasn't massively helpful in taking our food order. Atmosphere was good largely due to Brighton getting a deserved draw at home to Liverpool whilst we was there on the big screens which there are a few off too. Food wasn't great although it came out hot it wasnt very nice didn't eat it and stopped at a drive threw en route home. ( I get it was busy as Brighton were playing at home ) So would maybe try again when I'm the area but not for food)

This is one fine local pub with brilliant, friendly staff who offer support freely and with a smile! Great attention to detail, large beer garden with hut and a great venue to watch your favourite sport!

Went to watch a couple of RWC games. Sat in the covered beer garden with 📺. Good range of beers, fantastic eats between games attentive friendly staff. Overall fabulous experience.

Great atmosphere for the rugby World Cup, really enjoyed the vegan burger. The service was really efficient.

A standard large pub. There is plenty of space to meet up with friends but because of this it lacks a bit of atmosphere.

Went out with the family to play a quick game of shuffleboard. Lovely atmosphere, good beer, ended up staying and sampling some food too which was all delicious! Great evening, would highly recommend!

Great place to eat and watch the footie on a Monday night. Book a table if you want a guaranteed view of one of the screens. Beef and Ale pie with mash was excellent. Two main meals for £14.99 off the menu is a bargain. Good range of beer. Bar staff lovely and friendly.

Me and my son have been using the fiveways alot recently. The food is great value for money,the staff are a great laugh and brilliant with my son and his mates. We love playing pool and watching the sports. Good environment for families and adults who like a drink.

Came in for the speed quiz on Thursday and it was amazing so lively and interactive! Food was good quality and drinks choices were over whelming but there is always something for everyone! Will be returning again!

Was served by a barmaid with purple hair, didn't catch her name but she was very friendly and polite. Got served very quickly and efficiently despite it being the FA Cup final. The pub looks very nice inside and was incredibly clean and tidy.

Went for food and bus watching today with my autistic son.. He loved the nuggets & chips and ice cream (thanks for kids meal deals) found it friendly the man that served us was fantastic. Pulled pork tacos and a happy boy.

A group of 6 visited on the 4th April 23. The pub is clean and tidy and a very good selection of beers. So far so good, we had a few drinks and then headed to a table for our lunch. 4 roasts, 2 x turkey & 2 beef. 1 x mushroom chilli and 1 other ( I can't remember ) The beefs arrived missing the Yorkshire puddings and stuffing, the turkey roasts arrived with everything promised. After making the server aware they brought out the missing items. The beef was cooked ok as was the turkey luckily enough. The portion size was abysmal, I asked if we had been given a child's portion by mistake. The few peas were hard and the carrots were solid. The stuffing ball had been cooked in the deep fat fryer for a little too long and had a very solid shell protecting the small edible bit of stuffing in the centre. the Yorkshire pud was fine, they should be as all they have to do is heat them in the oven. A tiny portion of cauliflower cheese accompanied the plate in a tiny metal ladle pot thing. The wife told me later that the mushroom chilli was disgusting, it was virtually untouched and eventually cleared away. A couple of eton mess was ordered and a apple pie and custard. The apple pie went back as it was still cold, it came back after another quick blast in the microwave a bit warmer to be covered in luke warm custard. The eton mess came in an old fashioned nickerblocker glory glass which gets narrow at the bottom. Unfortunately the full size spoon was unable to penetrate the bottom couple of inches. It tasted ok, canned spray cream, a bit of ice cream and a sprinkle of meringue. Very basic with very little thought or care. The nacho sharer starters went down well. You can't really go wrong with nachos out of a bag with salsa and cheese! don't bother with the pulled pork for £ 2 as it was like playing hide and seek trying to find the pork. All in all a very disappointing meal! Quite embarrassing for all at the pub. possibly the worst £ 180 I have spent in a very long time! not including the beers we had at the bar before sitting down. It's one of those pubs where you need to chose something from the menu that is nice and easy to cook and hard to get wrong. It will be hard to find a meal as bad as this for a very long time. Avoid! now days in inexcusable to serve food as bad as this.

A local pub. Not the most glamorous but I go there now and then. Good tapas, decent lager. It tends to become noisier with football matches on TV, but thumbs up to the manager who saves a room for no football fans.

Visited two times now both times have been amazing. Both bankholidays and really freindly well run. The food is far better then normal pub food.

I came with a friend . Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. On top of that we got 20% student discount which was amazing as the pub already have a cheap drink menu. Food was value for money. I’ll be visiting again soon .

As frequent regulars to the pub . We love the new layout and the top area is perfect for chatting and dining with friends . But can I ask ?? Do you really have to bring in the outside tables and chairs so early ???...

I always start with 3 stars and adjust accordingly. We arrived around 3.15 Easter Saturday weekend, it was very quiet and there was a restricted menu. We saw four members of bar staff in or around bar area and one kitchen member of staff. Right from the beginning this was a very forgettable experience. Initial member of staff would not look at us, acknowledge us or smile, just kept on serving even though they saw us. We found our own table, took the number and waited at the bar for five minutes. When we were served there was no greeting or friendly conversation. We ordered, apart from drinks, a straightforward platter of chicken strips(20), a kilo of wings and three portions of chips. After 15 minutes only the strips arrived. We waited for ten minutes and enquired about the rest of our order. Ten minutes later the chips arrived. We had ate most of the strips by then unfortunately. Again, after five minutes we enquired about our wings. Five minutes later another member of staff, again not engaging, brought what was no more than half a kilo of wings to the table but insisted when I said it didn’t look right, that it was indeed a kilo. I waited and considered my next move. I returned them to the bar and insisted that my half kilo be returned and what I ordered be given. ANOTHER 15 minutes. This was a big mistake choosing this establishment for what should have been a very easy light lunch experience. Instead we experienced no friendliness. Staff pooling together at the end of the bar and needing signalling for any service. Food brought to table after long periods and not at the same time. Food missing. No apologies when issues raised except for one young man who acknowledged the portion error and returned the wings. The food was hot when each item eventually arrived but not tasty. The dips were not nice and obviously bottled stuff, not fresh. For a nearly one hundred pound lunch(inc drinks) this was not something I would recommend or will repeat. I will be reporting this place to Greene King. Staff 2/5. Food 1/5. Cleanliness 4/5. Service 1/5. Pricing 3/5. Service. 1/5. It

Booked table was seated fast. Food was served quickly despite being busy, was excellent quality especially the steak.

As regulars we are always looked after by the staff so cannot fault them - it’s nice when you walk into your local and the staff know exactly what you want without asking them.
