This is a pub at the centre of Yately. It is a community pub, a little expensive when compared to the rest of the pubs in Yately, but at the heart of the community.

Brilliant pub. Food excellent. Staff excellent. Service excellent. Will be going again very soon :-)

Beware if you have an allergy or Food intolerance. I stated quite clearly in front of my friends what the intolerance was, only to have strong stomach cramps the following day. ADVISE - read ingredients list on bottled drinks very carefully YOURSELF. The bar staff assured me the drink did not contain it, but the listed ingredients for this product clearly includes the problem ingredient. Very dissappointed! ☹

What a great pub and a fantastic garden. Covered, heated, fire pits and good seating options ideal for all weather and all year round dinning.Covid safe, text orders, good prices and friendly staff.Pizzas can be taken away.Love music available some days and inside is equally as nice with open fires in the winter. Would need to book near them though you can just sit around.This would be nice though is a snug area was created in the winter.... music inside and friendly atmosphere

First time out since pubs opened. So impressed with the effort made and quality of the outside dining area. The tent is amazing with lots of lovely lights & heaters throughout. So easy to order and the service was friendly and very quick. Our food was gorgeous so all in all a great night.

I get that things have been tough for the pins lately, however they had long enough to plan for tables of 6 returning outside. The text service was Shockley slow about 30-40 mins for drinks to arrive ( there were all 20 people in the pub at the time) the pizza we ordered was under cooked and £5.10 for a shandy is over priced. Very poor

Went for a meal for six of usSteak and Guinness pie was the best two of us had ever had.Never been disappointed with anything I’ve eaten there. Jessica and her team are running a great pub that is truly at the heart of the community.Very highly recommended

I have been here a few times and now twice since the new ownership. Can’t fault the place! The food is incredible, I have a few allergies which are never a problem and there are lots of gluten free dishes which makes it so much easier to pick something on the menu. The staff are really lovely and very attentive. Yesterday was very busy (so happy that business is back for you guys) but there was no compromise on quality of food or service. I could go on and on, but the place is really a gem.

Had the trio of meats; pork, lamb, beef. Each was absolutely superb - flavour & how cooked. Plenty of vegetables to go with. Great friendly service, All in all, very enjoyable experience

Tuesday lunch, superb, and Sunday Roast amazing, fabulous local meat, all fresh vegetables and a pig in blanket, stuffing ball and Yorkshire pud 😳 Definitely not tight on the portions, and beautiful gravy

We love the D&P & we love that it’s walking distance but what we love most is that all 3 of my children can find something on the children’s menu that they like that’s gluten free, it’s still such a rarity these days. Now that our favourite local chain has closed we will definitely be visiting more often. Thanks Jess & Lucy, you and your team are always so welcoming.

The staff were so friendly, all the tables were well spaced out. There is a good system with arrows clearly marked on the floors. The Sunday roast was delicious, with every vegetable possible. Very good value, will definitely be back!

We visited for lunch on Monday with our daughter and grandson. It was 'pizza' day, so we all enjoyed delicious, well cooked pizzas. Between us we tried all four on the menu. They were all excellent and good value for money. The only shame was that there were very few customers. You can be assured of a really good meal and they deserve everyone's support.

There were six of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. They were able to meet our dietary needs. Excellent roast. Very good, friendly service.

We reserved a table and were seated straight away. We ordered only mains and dessert before other 2 diners however our food didn’t arrive for nearly an hour.My husband had the Steak with Shrimp and mashed potatoes but it came with chips..?I had Hunters chicken and sweet potato fries.. The food was good.For dessert we had Belgien Waffle and Choco brownie; the waffle was hard as a rock... The 3 stars are purely for long waiting time and the hard waffle as I am not too sure if it was an reheated old one ?

I didn't want to write a public condemnation of this place but as they haven't bothered to reply to my complaint on their website, here goes.After arrival, and a drinks order taken, upon delivery of said drinks, the waitress knocked a bottle of coke over my 82 year old mum and my son. After clearing it up she promised a fresh one. It turned up 20 minutes later. Unlike the jug of water which never turned up at all.Dinner took another 20 minutes and we were given one small dish of vegetables between 6 of us. We were told we'd get another. 15 minutes and with our dinner mostly eaten, I called a waitress over. She apologised and brought another. Because of the amount we had already eaten, it was pointless.The food on the whole was good but the service was awful. Two waitresses were inattentive and the only way to get their attention was to holler loudly. The chef came out and asked if we'd enjoyed our meal. We said yes but it was purely that I didn't want to get the waitress into trouble as they were busy. Even so, I would expect better service. I drove 36 miles to my son's local as he'd heard good things. I doubt he'll return, let alone my wife and I drive all that way for it.Not good at all

We sat near the fire but even so we were chilly. The food was average typical pub food. Nothing in particular to commend or offend. I did point out that grooves in the table were full of crumbs, the waitress said they were cleaned weekly.

Last minute option as we were going a bit stir crazy in the hotel. Lovely welcoming staff with a nice log fire for cold nights. Great food for reasonable prices and decent portions . Great find will come again.

Popped in for a quick bite to eat & so glad we did! My wife requires Gluten Free options as she is coeliac and the menu here is fantastic. A really friendly warm welcome from the minute we walked in the door gave a great first impression & the service thereafter remained as good. The food was fantastic, it's also Dog friendly so we will definitely return very soon with our two pooches

Do not be put off by the rather bland exterior. This pub has a lovely atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, good food, reasonably priced. Above all they are very welcoming to dogs. And there's plenty of parking.

Delicious vegetable lasagne, reasonably priced. All home made. Really enjoyed it. Pub was quiet but staff friendly and helpful

Booked a table on strength of positive reviews, not disappointed. Table ready at time booked very friendly service by all staff. Three of us had the roast trio of meats the other had lamb, great size portions with plenty of veg good roast potatoes and parsnip, Yorkshire puddings huge.Finished with rhubarb crumble excellent.We meet up every two months for Sunday lunch try somewhere new each time over the last 15 years, would say this is one of the best. Also good value for money.We will return, Thank you to the team.

Fantastic place for Sunday lunch, great roasts, plenty of vegetables, roast potatoes and amazing Yorkshire puddings, but because of its popularity you do need to book. They also do smaller roasts and a children’s menu.

Went there for Sunday lunch with my wife (booking required). Great beer, great food & great service. Be warned LARGE portions! An absolute gem of a pub. Highly recommended!

I recently booked Sunday Lunch for a family group here, not having eaten here before but impressed by the reviews on this site. They were correct! We all had a roast and I must say that every component of the meal was top-class: beautifully tender meat, tasty vegetables and plenty of everything. Add on friendly service and prices that compare favourably with local chain eateries and you've got a winner. Definitely recommended.

Not long moved to the area and was told to book as it was always busy. Had a lovely Sunday lunch with friends. All four of us had something different and everything was cooked beautifully. Staff were very nice as well so we will will be coming back soon.

Really enjoyed a couple of meals here in November. Service is good, staff extremely pleasant and good pub food.

We had our Christmas party last night with 11 friends - the food and service was Superb from start to finish. One of the best meals we have had there for a long time. Not only was the food great it was plentiful. Loved the pickled red cabbage.

Visited here for a late lunch after doing some Christmas shopping. Just what we needed ! Good food, good service and a warm cosy atmosphere. We visit this pub/restaurant regularly and are never disappointed. Keep up the good work !

Came here after reading all the fab reviews. I have a few allergies, which can make eating out tricky, therefore messaged the pub prior to my visit. I had very speedy responses and was reassured they could cater to me. I had a roast and I have to say, it was one of the best! Tender meat, crispy potatoes and beautiful veg. All of the staff were extremely friendly and happy to help. (Thanks to the girls who were waiting on our table.) Also, one of us is a vegan and that was catered to wonderfully!

It is not often you can sit down in a wonderful local pub and have an excellent and wide ranging menu for those of us who are Gluten Free.

Always a welcome with a smile; efficient service; tasty, decent sized portions and fair pricing. There’s always a specials board with interesting options. This pub is a great meeting place with inside and outside seating, cosy in the winter and airy in the summer.

The food was as good as our last visit.

We went to the Dog & Partridge for their Caribbean Night. The entertainment was great and the atmosphere was lively. The food was absolutely top class, I had the Sweet potato fritters, the Curry (goat) Lamb and the Cinnamon fried banana. The portions sizes were perfect and the presentation was on point but the taste of the food was absolutely amazing. I recommend anyone visiting the area to go here for food as this is a great place to eat and it was all very well priced.

Been here a few times recently and the food has always been superb. The starters, mains and puddings offer a wide range of options and there is a good number of vegetarian choices too. The Sunday roasts are incredible!

Fab village pub with a lot to offer in atmosphere and really good food. Never had a disappointing meal there. Bar staff friendly. Uses the village green outside for entertainment and just watching the world go by.

The food when it came was good (but where was the bacon with the calves liver?) but it took an hour to come. We were a group of 12 but a place of this size should be able to manage that.

Following a lovely Sunday carvery back in July, we decided to visit the Dog & Partridge again so we decided to have lunch with a couple of friends today. The menu is varied, giving us a wide selection of choices. The light lunch option was the choice for all of us and we were not disappointed with our meals being flavoursome along with prompt and friendly service. Highly recommended.

The service was quick and everyone was very friendly and polite. The gluten free menu was extensive and the food was hot and freshly cooked. Full marks to Jean and her two excellent lady chefs, a great venue for a Sunday roast.

My new favourite place to eat! Came this evening for dinner with my husband. Was very busy but we didn’t have to wait long for our food. I had the cod which was on the specials and it was to die for. The food is just sublime. I came a few weeks ago with some friends and had the jambalaya which I hope returns soon as it was delicious. I love how diverse all the food is. And the waitress serving us made sure we were well looked after. Lovely atmosphere. 10/10

Hands down best Sunday roast around. Been here a few times and just gets better and better. Generous portions, and always presented beautifully. The yorkies were out of this world and everything just tasted sublime. The young waitress was lovely and looked after us really well. Desserts looked incredible.

More of a pub than a restaurant with lots of space for drinks inside and outside on the green area. Live music some Saturdays.

Been here a few times for the Sunday roast it’s the best around extra veg, potato’s and gravy can be ordered free of charge if you can eat more!

Even though our meals came out at different times the food was excellent would highly recommend this pub for service.

Visited with family for Sunday lunch, 12 of us in total. The roast was delicious and a good variety of starters and deserts. All the meals came out beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. We’ll be back again soon.

Great place for a Sunday lunch. Food excellent and very yummy. Well presented. Service also excellent. Good Value for money. The chef visited the customers and invited comments. [rare these days] The only minor fault was that the portions were a little on the large size. Option for smaller portions needed.

This was our first visit to the Dog and Partridge and we will definitely be back again. Fish finger sandwich was delicious and came with skin-on chips and a very generous portion of salad. It was a very varied menu and good choices on the children's menu. A very enjoyable meal. Also despite how busy it was, the service was excellent.

I went to visit my grandparents with my boyfriend they took us out for lunch . When we arrived we were quickly seated. It was very busy however, the service was excellent. All four of us ordered a roast. We all thoroughly enjoyed it! I had roast lamb, the lamb was delicious and the roast potatoes were to die for! Perfect portion size. The yorkshire pudding was unfortunately bit hard and bit overcooked. However, not complaining as this was honestly the best roast I've ever had! Unfortunately I don't live near this area, but will happily return when visiting my grandparents again!

Very disappointing visit and experience. I ordered my son (7) chicken strips, raw carrots and fries. It came out really quick and I was pleased about the portion size. Then out came my 5 pound soup, it was in the tiniest of bowls, more like a thimble, although nice it incredibly small. The bread that came out was stale and rock hard, this was inedible. I also ordered Koftas, this cost £7.50 i expected more than the measly portion of 3 tiny kebobs on a toothpick on a bed of a few leaves of rocket. My partner ordered a £9.50 Salad, this was extremely disappointing. The portion was tiny and was like a side salad not a £9.50 size portion for an adult. Incredibly disappointing, she complained and got a refund for the food. I was too embarrassed to moan about my food as the size was incredibly small. We won't be eating here again, well we hardly ate at all.

Sunday lunch as a treat. Thanks to the old folks for baby sitting duties on Saturday night. Seven of us but no problem having booked - just as well as otherwise we could not have got in. The needs of three generations all comfortably dealt with by very pleasant efficient staff especially the young man that dealt with our table. Excellent starters, though somewhat pricey maybe, and all roasts excellent. The idea of smaller portions is excellent - though not for me! Plenty of vegetables and the extra cauliflower serving avoided the arguments we often have when the youngsters attach with gusto. Yes, all our family are into cauliflower! First serving of, I think, two but no sense of being rushed. Sweet course was enjoyed by all who had room for it. Overall a pleasant experience - easy to see why it is so popular.

Booking is advised as this pub is very popular. We arrived as a family of 7 and were welcomed like one of the family by Jean who is an asset to the Pub. She made everyone welcome and nothing was too much trouble. She was good with children and grand parents alike and soon knew everyone’s names.

Very friendly pub, varied menu with lots of gluten-free options. Lovely food and service. Lots of dessert options for gluten-free, which I appreciated, especially the sticky toffee pudding, that I don't often see available gluten-free! :) Very nice :)

Four of us had dinner tonight. Good job we booked, it was packed and no wonder.

Popped into one of our local pubs for a game of pool to discover the table has been removed. In its place was a cheesy crooner singing motown songs.

We have visited to Dog & Partridge before and enjoyed it but this was our first Sunday roast and we werent disappointed. Good quality food, good size portions and for the benefit of my coeliac wife a gluten free version complete with Yorkshire pudding too. Add in the good value for money and we will be coming back again.

Came here with my husband for an early Sunday roast. We did not book but managed to be seated and we were glad we were as the roast dinners we had were great value for money. Big portions and good service.

Hello we have been in this pub many times either for drink or Sunday lunch a great meeting place with friends a great atmosphere best pub in Yateley It had so many different managers but these managers really turned the pub around & made it a great success.. with great food & child friendly garden

Lovely welcome, super efficient and attentive staff set the tone for a fantastic Sunday lunch. Could not fault the meal. Very busy pub with a real buzz. Definitely be back.

Had lovely meal with family. Quiz on Monday evenings is noisy so avoid this day/ time if you want a quiet evening.

Always love if here as do our friends. It is now a regular place to come. As ever very good food and good atmosphere. Large party next to us and restaurant was busy which is a credit to a good management team

We’ve been dinning here for a few years now ever since winning a Sunday lunch in their raffle! After our first visit we keep going back, food is excellent, the Sunday lunch is delicious, the wife loves the homemade pies! We have also eaten here during the week equally as good.

two of us had an enjoyable meal with friendly service. We were looked after. We were given a table in an annexe by a window which was nicer than in the pub.

This was my first visit to the Dog and Partridge in probably 40 years and I was incredibly impressed.

This is Janes local and we have drunk here a few times. We are always remarked that the food looked good and we should eat here. The opportunity arose for lunch and a good choice. Good menu, with a large selection and a great selection of gluten free too. Also a lunch menu. We were going to have a light lunch but got side tracked and I had fish and chips, whilst Jane had the 3 sausages and mash. Great taste, large portions. Glad we came. £33 with drinks.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to you all. We redeemed our raffle prize that had been donated to the Westfield School raffle in the summer.

I work not too far away from this pub and frequently visit for lunch and we have never had any complaints! The place is super clean, really quick and efficient and the food is great! Will continue coming to this pub!

The service was extremely good and friendly, the nacho starter to share was OK although too much cheese on the top and only 3 little pots of sauces not very much salsa. The Portuguese chicken burger was excellent although the piri sauce was not so good, leave that out and the meal is lovely. It's worth a visit.

I have now eaten at The Dog and Partridge several times and each time has been a pleasure. Staff are very welcoming and accommodating. My family and I have eaten both the Roast and other meals, all have been delicious with ample portions. The Chef comes out to ask how you found the meal and generally say a welcome which is a nice touch. I would certainly recommend.

Whilst the starters were pretty average (the buffalo wings are not realllly buffalo wings, but they were nice and the bbq sauce was amazing) I wasn’t too optimistic about lunch BUTTTT they were incredible, the pie was really tasty, meat was very soft and the pasty nice and crisp, the mash was 10/10 the horseradish and chive is a nice touch. The beef bourginon was so tasty, once again meat was really tender and had a nice rich flavour.

Super ambiance, beau cadre, billard, plats excellents, super service, bon choix de bieres locales. On a adoré.

Want to take the opportunity to thank the whole team for a wonderful evening. Group of 6 for a meal for my son's 6th birthday on Thursday 30th August and had driven past a few times but never visited before. A special mention goes to the front of house team. There were 2 young lads and a girl and they were impeccable hosts. From the warmest of welcomes to finding last minute candles for our cake the whole experience was how every pub should be. When you have such amazing hospitality and warm welcome you know the food is also going to be treated and served with care. Ordered a mix of food and everything was amazing. If any pubs or restaurants would like to know what a 1st class experience in terms of food and service is, they should bring their staff here as all could learn something from visiting this establishment. 1 thing they manage to do really well is have a sit down restaurant, and also a social drinking spot where neither feeling like it's competing for space.

This is a well frequented pub that caters for all age groups. A very talented chef the food is always wonderful. Great ambience very helpful friendly staff. They have some great bands on a Saturday evening

Visited here with my friends for a catch up. The pub is very nice with a good selection of beverages available and the staff were very welcoming and pleasant. Didn't try the food but it smelt nice. Would definitely recommend for a visit.

I have been to the D&P; twice now. Both times I have been disappointed. The first time was several months ago for an evening meal which I can only describe as mediocre. I always believe in a second chance so revisited last week for lunch with friends. This time was worse. Two of us ordered a ploughman’s (the pate and cheese were of poor quality). Another friend ordered lasagne. The portion size could only have been described as child-sized! We assumed it was a lunch-time size and would be priced accordingly but no, full price was charged on our bill. As she was still hungry she asked for a slice of the rather delicious looking coffee & walnut cake on the bar. This was very dry and she couldn’t finish it. We didn’t complain at the time because the staff were lovely and we are not ones to cause a scene. Please don’t use the “we are very busy” excuse - there were only 3 other tables in use! I will not be returning for a third time.

Good food, excellent service , absolutely nothing wrong (except the weather!), we asked for something not on the menus “no problem” , you can why it’s busy.

We found this pub by chance as our son has moved into the area and oh what a gem! I am Coeliac and I was astounded on our first visit to find a GF menu on the table. I just couldn't believe how much choice there was. I opted for the fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding which were divine. We have since returned about 6 times now, most recently last Sunday for the roast dinner. It was lovely, plenty of meat and trimmings and vegetables and I even had yorkshire pudding! Our son not a fan of roasts asked if there was anything else available and they very kindly prepared and cooked him a Chicken Kiev which was huge and he said was delicious. The service is brilliant and the staff are very friendly. A nice touch at the end of the meal was the chef;s walked around the restaurant meeting customers and making sure we were all happy. What's not to be happy about!! We also came for a Saturday lunch with our little grandson and he loved the ice cream cone, brilliant idea! We will keep on returning as its certainly worth our 40 minute trip to get tasty, fresh and most importantly for me, safe gluten free food. Thank you.

I love this pub in the village where I live. My Mum and I like to walk from my house down to the Dog and Partridge for a quiet lunch in the week. There is an excellent menu to choose from and always extra choices on the specials board, I recommend the fish and chips hot and tasty with home made tartare sauce. We have also been for Sunday lunches numerous times and rate them as delicious. I Highly recommend visiting not only is the food great all the staff are really kind and attentive as well

Came tonight with friends for dinner as we have always enjoyed the food here. Tonight it was poor. The peri peri chicken was ok but quantity wise was lacking. I asked for mixed veg with it and had one broccoli florets and 4 slices of carrots.
