Food was ridiculously good. Best ribs ever had.

Great atmosphere, food very tasty, thoroughly enjoyed whole evening, staff very attentive….but, but, but….dogs!.. can you not go out for an hour and leave your dog at home..I don’t want to play with your dog

Met with35 relatives 4 Sunday lunch at 5pm meal all came out hot .staff were good.can recamend proper Sunday roasts.

Quality food, well priced, excellent service

Fantatsic service always with a smile. Food was amazing. From the sea bass to the rare steak perfectly cooked. The 6 of us couldn't have been happier after our day at the races.

We popped in with no booking on a busy Sunday and were able to find us a table. The menu was limited, but the roast dinners were awesome.

What can I say popped in today for the 1st time with my wife for lunch. The two ladies who were on today were fantastic so friendly and perlite the food was excellent will definitely return thankyou.

We had a really lovely meal, with very friendly staff. We stopped in on our to our holiday. Welcoming log fire. I would highly recommend!

Sunday Roast diiner was fantastic. Between us we ordered 1x Lamb, 2 x Turkey and 1 x Sirlion pink beef. On the plate came a few generous slices of meat, real roast potatoes, gravy and a large yorky. The shared veg was carrot & swede mash, squeeky beans, red cabbage, broccoli , leeks in cream sauce and new potatoes. Everything was absolutely gorgeous. The pub was full of diners and drinkers and the atmos was lively and buzzing. I real treat. We were so impressed that are booking for the Mixed grill night on Monday. Well done team !!

This place never fails to satisfy. The food is fantastic quality and price, atmosphere is always warm and welcoming and Christine and Dawn are always so accommodating.

Wow, what a fabulous pub. Went there for a lunch with my best friend, the mushrooms were lovely as a starter, but the Stilton and Beef pie with home made chips was unbelievably good. Great service and excellent value for money, thank you.

The best Sunday Roast we have ever had

I visited the pub and have steak and stilton pie ,veg and chunky chips. Me and a friend martyn fessey decided to visit .The food was excellent .pie was probably the best ever. The veg was cooked perfect and the chips were also cooked perfect . I couldnt find fault with the meal 11 out of 10. The service was excellent also. I live local and this is the best pub for food anywhere in the area for miles. Forget other locals The swan , ( pub further down road on opposite side to the swan, cant remember the name.). The forresters The boars head , ,barton under needwood pubs , abbotts bromley pubs , burton on trent. Ive had food in all of these places and more. This is the best no contest .

What a gem of a place to eat and drink. A beautiful little village pub with the most friendly staff. Food was delicious and the services was outstanding. Dog friendly too, and our dog was fussed over. Highly recommend a visit if you are passing through or even for a drive out to.

Another awesome meal with Ash and his crew, had delish calamari n the most beautiful cod in chorizo crust n linguini sauce... oh to die for! N ash the perfect host, atmosphere spot on, a lovely evening out with great friends who also appreciate great food n had the same as us! Highly recommend n u need to book to guarantee ur spot! Found this amazing restaurant everything was 5 star and the food was amazing would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for good food, it is always nice to find new places to eat and loved the fireplace with a lovely fire, we will certainly be going back. The staff where amazing

Possibly the best Sunday lunch I’ve ever had in a British pub. From start to finish the staff were friendly and attentive. The pub itself is warm and inviting and buzzing with a mix of those enjoying a drink and diners. The food was simply outstanding, the lamb was perfectly cooked and plentiful and the veg was fresh and beautifully cooked and presented. It was bread and butter pudding for ‘afters’ which was quite simply divine. This was my second visit and definitely will not be the last, the first time I went I had the monstrous mixed grill which was so amazing it would need its very own review. A wonderful visit and a beautiful meal, thank you.

First visit and def not our last. Basically how a pub should be. Not sport in any way. Lovely atmosphere lovely staff and above everything else lovely food. Even though busy not a particularly long wait. Appreciate a Saturday night so other nights may not have the same atmosphere but I will be trying another night soon.

What a fabulous little country pub! Came for lunch and was not disappointed. Staff were friendly and accommodating and food delivery was quick. My fish and chips were lovely and fresh and the portion was very, very generous. Prosecco batter was beautifully crisp and fish was perfectly cook. Hubby's chicken stack was plentiful and the side of veggies with herby butter just right. Best value for money I have seen in a while. Oh.....and the NZ Savinguon Blanc and Timothy Taylor rounded things off nicely 👍👍👍

Delightful dining experience was recommended by friends, and we were not disappointed. The Carpark is a bit small,I don't think there would be anywhere to park on busy days and evenings , so we'd probably stick to lunchtimes. It's definitely worth a visit, though.

Whether it’s Sunday lunch, Monday grill night or main menu on a Saturday, the team deliver time and time again! What a gem of a country pub. I never take time to write reviews but the consistency and quality of every meal keeps us going back time and time again! Especially for music Sundays. Huge credit to Ashley and Team D&P for creating such a rarity. Waist line friendly portions not served here

I don't know how I have managed to not visit before. This was the best pub meal I have had locally for as long as I can recall. A lovely proper village pub with low ceilings, a warm fire, and great service. I can't recommend it highly enough.

What a wonderful pub, we were looking for somewhere to eat on our way home from Chester. We were not disappointed, the customer service from Harry and the food was excellent. Best steak and ale pie I have ever had and an amazing bakewell. tart. We will definitely be coming back.

From walking in to walking out, we had absolutely no bad words about our visit. The staff were wonderful, the atmosphere lovely and calming and the food just A1+. For the 3 of us, there were plenty of veg, an amazing amount of succulent meat and the gravy.....😋just the best I've had in a very long time! Well done to all involved in todays service.

Recently reopened under new management. Excellent local pub, one side for drinkers and the other for diners. New chef and menu....Excellent food. Beer choices are good and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

Arrived 5pm,meal arrived 5.30 Sunday beef,piping hot all the trimmings and gravy to die for.

The food was beautifully presented and tasty. Portions were generous and great value (we had the lunch menu). Booking was easy online and they were flexible in moving our booking slightly later on the day too which was most helpful. We felt very welcomed by staff when seated and they checked we were happy in a personal, warm and approachable manner at appropriate points. This visit really added to our day- thank you!!

I came here with friends/family for a little treat. We decided to have a cream tea/afternoon tea. Whilst we were waiting for the rest of our family to come we ordered some drinks, my gin and lemonade was lovely. Then out came our afternoon tea which was beautifully served on a mini wooden tables. There were 7 of us so we ordered 3 of them and it was more than enough. All the sandwiches and cakes were amazing and super tasty! The atmosphere of the pub was nice and relaxed which was exactly what we wanted. Staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us, I would definitely recommend this pub if you want something special in the countryside. I will definitely be back and I urge anyone reading this to take a visit!

We were recommended to try the D&P by friends. Went for lunch and we were very impressed. Friendly staff lovely home cooked food and real value for money. Will definitely go again. If you haven't been yet would suggest you give it a try. If you've already been well done you.

We dined on a Friday afternoon , so a bit quite. Still the service was very attentive and efficient. Definitely come again. The steak bab was to die for !!

Went 12th Aug for lunch.We had a lovely welcome and staff were chatty.We both had the Fish ,chips and mushy peas .Fish was a fantastic size,just the right amount of chips and both the peas and tartar were home made.To top it off they sell Timothy Taylor Landlord......very happy 😊 Thank you to all concerned for a lovely lunch

Just stopped in for a drink after a day out, we'd seen it earlier as we passed. Looked beautiful! Very friendly and welcoming, gorgeous little beer garden, we didn't eat, but there were plenty that were, so obviously a very popular place.

I highly recommend the D&P. We visited a couple of days ago and had a fantastic meal, very reasonably priced for the quality of food and the service was faultless. The pub was busy and has a great atmosphere, the staff were very welcoming. I would recommend booking in advance as it’s appears to be very popular now under new management. Looking forward to our next visit.

Meals ok, limited menu. You need to like chips ! Very clean pleasant surroundings, great outdoor beer garden.

I looked at the menu, saw there was nothing as such I could eat as I have dairy and egg intolerance (ie vegan), mentioned it to the waitress,who went to the chef, who offered us a Thai curry!! Fabulous plate of food arrived, curry sauce made from scratch, nearly couldn't eat all of it but managed 🤣 Definitely recommend

We are so lucky to have Ashley as landlord of our much loved village pub. The menu is extensive, food is faultless, and excellent value for money. Daytime offers a budget lunch menu, afternoon tea (need to book) or just pop in for an afternoon coffee and homemade cake. 😋 😋 Even the background music is good! The service, ambience, (including candle lit tables), excellent ales, top notch friendly service and attention to detail sets the benchmark for what a country pub should be.

Fantastic friendly and hospitable staff, superb pub. I only knocked off 1 star because the piped music which was played in all of the bars was just a tad too loud which made having a decent conversation during the meal a bit challenging.

Had a lovely few hours at D&P yesterday afternoon. 12 of us went for lunch before Uttoxeter races. The staff were amazing and very accommodating. The food was very good and great value. The group had a mix of sandwiches, fish and chips and pies, all very good. It's nice to see a traditional pub bustling with punters and we felt very welcome. First time going here and now it'll be our go to ore races lunch spot. Thank you.

A fantastic, cosy pub with a lovely atmosphere. We visited for a drink as it was my other half's birthday. Children came along too. Lovely Bass beer on cask! No less than three fire places to keep warm and snug. The bar staff were friendly and attentive. It got really busy towards 18:30 ish and the atmosphere was lovely. Every table also got home cooked delicious chips, for free! Will definitely visit again.

Came up from Crewe to meet family who were staying the weekend in this area. Had lunch today not realising it was a limited menu on Mondays but wow it was fantastic. Fab food, excellent value and a very friendly and efficient guy who looked after us. Highly recommend this pub.

We turned up without a booking on the first Sunday back open. The staff were really accommodating finding us a table for an hours time. It was worth the wait. Lovely little pub with roaring log fires and a cosy feel. The food was delicious and reasonably priced for the quantity and quality. Even better, the staff were attentive, helpful and friendly.

Really disappointed. No high chair for a child provided and was given the worst table with not much space. Food was great but the experience wasn't good for us.
