Ideal place for lunch and a couple of beers before Uttoxeter races.

Beccy made our visit pleasant, quick and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. Will be visiting again.

The atmosphere is friendly, thanks to the manager, Mark, and staff members, Daniel, Anthony, Mimi, Eliza, Alice, and Shaun. The food is great tasting at a reasonable price.

Food was very nice and dan was very helpful for accommodating our table would of been nicer if I had a bit more cream on my chocolate brownie Sundae but other than that it was very good

Yes it was a Saturday night and expected it to be busy. Found our own table which wasn’t cleaned or cleared of plates. Food was okay but one of our party didn’t get theirs till the rest of us had eaten which wasn’t great. Staff were pleasant and friendly Overall not bad.

We called in today for their activity day they had on. My kids loved almost the different things that were on offer. Free facepainting and balloon modelling was a major win for the kiddies. Mark and Ellie did a fantastic job keeping the kids entertained for 2 hours. Thank you.

Ordered gammon and pizza the gammon looked over cooked and had clearly been waiting for the pizza so when it arrived at the table the meal was cold after notifying a member of staff who said would sort it I found that my meal of gammon chips and garden peas had been pinged in the microwave, we understood the restaurant was busy #notimpressed

The children's meal was awful. The pasta sauce was bland and revolting even after trying to make it better with seasoning. The baked beans side was congealed and inedible. Our child ended up not eating most of it. The halloumi fries were overcooked and hard. It took over 1 hour to get out food and we had to chase. We were told it all hinged on the mozzarella dough balls and when these came out, they were raw. So we had both raw and overcooked food at the same time. We had to complain and the dough balls were remade. Absolutely awful experience and it wasn't even that busy.

Although the pub was busy we had booked ahead. Seated straight away and fast service at the bar. Food arrived quickly and looked and tasted great.

Just got served by Mark. Absolute gentleman with a great sense of humour! Made all of us laugh on table 3 and 4 and made up for a rather short and sharp bar man.... Mark was brilliant, it was a busy service and being a chef I appreciated the demand of tables. If there is a staff reward scheme then reckon Mark is up there for one.

Nice and clean and not too noisy. Wanted somewhere to have a catch up chat with family and a quick snack. Hot baguettes were tasty, although the bread was a little soggy. Service was good and quick.

We were celebrating my mothers 85th Birthday, but because I had needed to visit A&E that day, we were later than we anticipated in going to get food. The tables were clean with sauces and condiments available. It was easy to order at our table with the QR code too. However, when we were ordering, rather than a friendly greeting, we were told "you know our kitchen shuts at 8pm." Senior staff appeared less friendly than our previous visit when we were there a couple of hours earlier. However, we had no complaints about the food which was lovely. It was a shame that nobody bothered to see if we wanted coffee or dessert. In future, we will continue to use the Dapple Grey if we are just taking our youngest out for food, but for special occasions, we will very likely eat elsewhere.

From my experience when I have been here. Not saying all the time. Busy, standing around at bar. Not the place to go for a quiet meal. However if you don't mind that atmosphere then the pub has pretty much everything you should want from a pub. It's ideal for kids too as there is a play area along with some machines for them to play with.

The food was really nice and the price was good. The place was quite empty but we did go on a Monday night.

Been here several times now each time the food is better or on par with the last. Staff are always friendly and happy to help, atmosphere is semi chill music isn’t too noisy just the perfect volume. Don’t hesitate to go for a meal just do it you won’t be disappointed. No photos as food was too good to wait.

Popped in for a quick business lunch and were met with a friendly welcome. Ordered some food and it arrived promptly and more importantly piping hot. My burger was very nice. All the staff were incredibly friendly and polite especially the manager Mark who popped over a couple of times to check if our food was ok and if we needed any more drinks. Will definateley visit again.

Booked an 18th birthday party before Christmas including location for the guests. Turned up on the evening and we were seated further away from the end we required for the meal. A few used the app to order food and drink and after 40 minutes no drinks arrived bearing in mind that there was only one lady serving behind the bar. I then found the order tickets sat on top of the fridges so not only was the drink neglected the food on the same ticket hadn't been given to the chef. Food took over 1 hour and some of the meals where smaller than a child's meal. I wanted a medium steak which was well-done, and another wanted well done which was that burnt and black it had shrunk to the size of the sausage and couldn't be eaten. The young lady serving the drinks needs a medal as she was dealing with every customer on her own and what we assumed to be the owner/ manager showed face once in a blue moon. A completely ruined 18th birthday party apart from the drinks. Will never go back after this unless it's taken over. Food was warm and rushed, or well over cooked. Absolutely horrendous!!! Would of gotten better service at the local chip shop

Went for Sunday lunch with a friend. 30 min wait for food advised but waited 45. Food was tasty but cold but we were so hungry we just got stuck in. Jane gave us complimentary drinks to apologise

Great Landlord foods good. Large inside with seating also outside. We'll worth a visit. The new 2025 updated menu arrives soon so why not pop in and sample a meal? The Pedigree Burton bitter is as good as you will find I recommend trying a pint as soon as you can.

The place is a nice place to go and the service is great. This visit, the staff redeemed themselves. Had a lovely dinner for myself and my daughters. All the food was excellent and the service was just a good. Definitely go again

Came on Christmas day for lunch. Party of 10 with family Food was good Service very good All 3courses were enjoyable. Told chef could cook a blue steak arrived medium, also requested medium rare arrived will done, eaten here on many occasions to meet with family, but will be seeking out a new venue.

We booked for a meal, we booked a table of 11. We got our table as planned, I had seen from previous reviews the speed of food can be slow, however the staff were very clear about this. It was very accurate of how long it took the food to come out. All of our food was very tasty, everyone was very pleased, we had a mix of burgers, pizza, fish and chips etc. There is no children’s play area in side only outside. There is a small area with children’s car toys and payable claw machines. Great pub food very friendly staff.

It was easy to book, staff were pleasant and provided good service. Using the app meant we were able to order quickly and received our food in a reasonable time. Unfortunately the quality of the food was poor, eg beef pie had no beef. Also we were expecting a festive menu and the only items on this was a festive burger and mac and cheese, neither of which seemed very festive. Overall experience was let down by the food quality and menu choice, which was a shame as the staff were very polite and helpful

The service was fantastic, it's always a friendly environment when we go to the restaurant. The quiz is always a great community event and brings out a lot of people for good competition. Even with the increased capacity the food is still delivered to the table in good time and the food is brilliant, never had a disappointing meal.

Yet again the Dapple Grey served us with great food done to our liking and wonderful service. I must give a special thank you to Alice and to Debbie who made us not only feel welcome made us feel special. Smiles all round too

On arrival told 40 mins wait for food. I personally ordered the mega grill, the ga.mon was really good, the steak absolutely inedible, chips had been reheated and the peas were not good. We use this venue for meetings, and usually order small dishes, but this was not good, the chicken breast was also inedible. The server was lovely, it was clean, but the food was way overcooked which indicates a chef well over pressured. Shame really. Not what we expected, and I was reluctant to complain, as they were obviously trying their best

Lovely staff and good food. 👍 The only thing that was of concern was my wife's leak and potato pie. The crust was too thick for her liking. For the atmosphere it was a bit cold.

Food was satisfactory. Tbh, we wouldn't rush back. The pie was a bit stodgy and I was sat under a speaker. The chips were lovely. We were both a bit chilly.

A large party were there, three people before me, then then rest of the group started coming up to the same till, about 15 to 20, all ordered separately and had a voucher that had to be manually put in, made everything run late. If you have such bookings, staff it so it doesn't impact others, and make them queue separately if they order separately.

Was busy, the lady who welcomed me was very friendly explained they had some issues with the fryer and there may be a bit of a wait, found a seat ordered through the App there was a bit of a wait but not to long. My only issue was my drink didn't come till meal was ready would of like it while waiting.

Loved the food, the Hunters chicken is very tasty and comes in just for £8 under the lunch menu. Would recommend!!

We had a great meal at the Daple Grey. The food was served hot and cooked to our liking. The staff were excellent especially Jane the assistant manager who made sure that we were looked after.

We use the Dapple at least once a month. Always friendly and welcoming staff lovely food great service. The Dapple always has a nice atmosphere.

The initial drinks and food orders went through in a timely fashion and the food was delicious. The member of staff that gave us our first drinks also checked that the food orders they had were correct, as there were two sets of orders for the table. The additional drinks order after took over 20 minutes to be filled, however the when I went up to the bar to check that they were aware of the order it was obvious that the two bar staff were extremely busy with a couple of large orders. They assured me that they were aware of my order and were aiming to fill it as soon as possible. Less than 5 minutes late it arrived. Adding another bar staff might have helped move things along but the two that were there were doing an amazing job of getting things done.

We arrived early but still didn't expect to wait half an hour for food after ordering. Bar service was polite, friendly and professional. The food and drink however, could be improved. The earl grey tea had no flavour, (possibly not an earl grey) the puffy pastry should have been described as rock and the sweet potato fries looked like they'd spent 3 weeks sunning themselves in benidorm. Will not be racing back.

The Dapple Grey is an outstanding example of what a Marston's venue should be like. You walk in and are greeted with smiles, the place looks and smells clean, the food is some of the best Marston's food I've tried. You get a real sense that the management and staff actually care about the product they are serving. There a few other Marston's venues within the area... I think they need to visit this place to see how it's actually done.

When we arrived, we were told there was a 30 mins wait on food which is fine and we were grateful for them telling us that. The food was really good and comforting, we would definitely return if we come back to Uttoxeter

Had a very enjoyable visit last night to the Dapple . Hadn’t been for a long while but was really impressed We had 4 burger meals that were 1st class we all loved them Along with the drinks served by friendly still we were really satisfied Thankyou Dapple for a nice evening 👍

Just a bit slow service but they were busy

We were staying at Alton towers which is about a 15 minute drive away and we didnt want to eat on site and risk a bad expensive meal. We found this place and booked originally for half past 8 but on the day called to change to 6pm with no issues what so ever. The pub its self is on a retail park and although there isn't much parking outside the pub there's ample parking within a 1 minute walk. The staff were amazingly friendly and couldn't do enough to help. They made us feel relaxed and informed about a 30 minute food time Our food arrived within the time they had specified and maybe even a little earlier and i have to say it was very tasty. If visiting Alton towers (or even staying in the area) its well worth a visit

A massive thank you to the team. A great deal of care and thought went in to my food allergies and very well thought out including the oil used to cook other foods that contained foods with my allergies. Colleagues very attentive couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you everyone and a special shout out to chef!

My sister, mum and I visited the Dapple Grey for lunch yesterday and the food and service was great!! My mum is gluten intolerant and they have plenty of gluten free options on the menu. I can highly recommend the gammon, it had a gorgeous flame grilled flavour and the chips, egg and pineapple were also really nice 😋 we will definitely be visiting again to try something else off the menu.

We booked the Dapple Grey last minute, half hour before arrival as our hotel restaurant was closed but boy were we glad we did! By far the best Marston’s we have ever ate in - the food looked like the menu photos which is always a massive plus and the staff were friendly and understanding of my son’s quirky taste in food 😂 We had a lovely table where we could enjoy a family meal, lovely food and drinks, not a single bit was wasted (2 adults and 3 children so that’s unheard of in our house). This will be our regular when we do the 4 hour trip to Alton Towers every year now! Thank you!! X

Looked at the reviews so thought we would give it a try on a Sunday tea time. Fairly quiet so no trouble finding a table. Ordered everything through the app. Drinks arrived fairly quickly. Unfortunately the food is just average pub food.

Came for a family meal , ordered via the app.Staff came and checked order was correct before making which I thought was a good idea .We sat in the family area which provided games etc to keep kids busy while waiting , this is a fantastic idea !! We had a few games of connect 4 .Food and drinks arrived promptly and was really nice , we even ordered puddings ! Would return if in the area again.

We had an absolutely delightful evening at The Dapple Grey Pub in Uttoxeter yesterday! From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic family outing. The variety on the menu ensured that everyone in the family found something they loved. The drinks selection was equally impressive, with a great range of options to suit all tastes. The highlight of the evening was the quiz. It was incredibly well-organised and a lot of fun for all. The quizmaster was engaging and kept the energy high throughout. It was a wonderful way to bring the family together and enjoy some friendly competition. Overall, The Dapple Grey Pub provided an exceptional experience with excellent food, drinks, and entertainment.

It's a chain pub but as far as chains go, this one is pretty good. Lovely service from a very helpful young lady who helped with gluten free meals. The food was very good, a tiny bit of gristle in a steak but still very good and nicely cooked. The only slight downside with the atmosphere was that we were sat near an older couple....the woman was berating the man pretty much constantly and quite loudly and the poor bloke was sitting there taking it all with the world weary look of someone who's been dealing with this rubbish for many years. I hope he wakes up, sees her for the harpy she is, and goes for a different model.

Came in with my family but also on a work trip, what a pub, first impressions when walking in is it’s a very clean and inviting restaurant. We were greeted by the manager and he had such a lovely bubbly personality. Very friendly guy! We were told to find a table we wanted and upon doing so we noticed that there were little toys/activities for the children’s also a children’s corner which went down amazing with my kids. Ordered food and it came so quickly, nice and hot pizza that was freshly made. And the normal chicken nuggets for the smalls. From start to finish I was highly impressed with our visit and even though we live an hour away, definitely will be returning. Highly recommend and will be telling family and friends about you. So Thankyou to all who was working.

Great place for a meal out and very good prices

A typical nouveau pub pretending to be a few hundred years old on retail park. service was good, staff where welcoming and helpful. The visit took place after lunch before the 17h rush so it wasn't as busy as it had been, there was still a large amount of people lots with children and they were well catered for the pizza oven was in use pity it wasn't a "feu de bois" hand made pizza deserve the special flavouring this brings. Meal was ok and reasonable for the economic climate we're in. Well worth a return visit
