Loved this place and love doing our pop ups there, great staff who are very helpful and friendly.

The friendly opening hours are complimented by the friendly staff, guests (and Rolo the dawg). Smashing place!

Lovely local pub. Nice beer garden. Fair prices. We didn't try food but it looked like there was a limited range of bar snacks and sandwiches. Would happily go again.

The Goats Head has recently been refirbushed by the new landlord. It is clean, well decorated and inviting! The right hand side has everything a sports bar needs. A pool table, dart board, gambling machine and stools looking out over the Butter Cross. The right hand side bar has tables and chairs to socialise with family and friends. It also has a wonderful piano. The pub offers a wide range of snacks which includes a selection of nuts, pasties and baps. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. They are also doggie friendly which is fab for my two 4 legged fur babies. Would definitely reccomend a visit!

Since the Goats Head has been taken over I’ve been in several times and have loved every visit. The new decor is beautiful and compliments the building and ties in fabulously with the village. The garden is stunning with its fairy lights and a couple of occasions there has been a bouncy castle for the kids. The homemade baps are a lovely lunchtime snack, along with the Cornish pasties and sausage rolls. I can highly recommend this village pub for a friendly welcome and a good pint or G&T.

me and my partner have recently been to the goat on several occasions and we were greeted with a warm welcome and friendly smile from the lovely Emily. Beers good also has good selection of wines and we particularly enjoy the social aspect of having banter and playing pool. The pub has the added bonus of being dog friendly which is great for me and my partner. We would definitely recommend this pub.

What a fantastic job these guys have done!! The goat is back, better than ever. They've had some cracking events on with some brilliant choice of drink and snacks. The staff are excellent and super friendly they will do anything to accomadate you and give you a excellent experience. Well done guys you should be super proud

FANTASTIC PUB! What a fantastic job the new owners have done to The Goats Head it has been decorated it very tastefully with a great addition of a pool table and darts board, there is a huge enclosed garden which is great for children, amazing selection of wine, beer and spirits. This place has such a warm welcoming environment to enjoy a few social drink with friends.

Wow what a refurb! Popped in on Horn Dance day (11th September) and was super impressed. Now back for lunch and to have a proper look around. The Goat has the professional look and feel of an upmarket City-centre pub/bar, but with the warmth and friendliness of a great local pub. The new owners are dog lovers, and there's even a doggie refreshment bar! The outside entertainment on Monday (Horn Dance day) was outstanding, so I'm looking forward to the next event. Today I had a quick pub lunch - their cob meal deal . Delicious. The Goats Head is open 11-11, so Ill definitely be back to try the evening menu. Love it!

Came here to explore historic Abbotts Bromley and was particularly excited to visit such a historic pub. Turned up at 9:40pm to be told they were shut because it was too quiet. What a shame. Won’t be back.

Friendly welcome but limited ale on tap. Sat in the beer garden away from the main road. Shame the beer wasn't quite right.

went in at the Abbots Bromley Horn Dance.They only reopened the previous Wednesday with a new landlord.Beer was OK,served in plastic because of the day.The pub was clean and tidy but finishing touches being put to it .The barman was efficient and friendly.I wish them well.

Use to go here regularly then it changed hands and has changed hands yet again, not sure if I am looking back with rose tinted glasses but now it's just an average place. The only exception is the actual building.

What a lovely friendly atmosphere with good food; we never tire of spending time here. Great with kids; pets welcome and treats waiting for them and even a chair if required.

We moved to the village just over a week ago and the management, staff and customers have been so friendly and helpful... and as we have no kitchen, we’ve eaten there most nights and the food has been very good ... although the pizzas are fantastic!!

Nice old pub in the centre of Abbott's Bromley village. Didn't get to try the food but it looked good, so will be back to try it. Ask about the Dick Turpin story.

Incredibly warm welcome from the minute we stepped foot into the Goats Head. The pizzas are THE best ever tasted and the rest of the menu doesn’t disappoint either. Very accommodating and dogs welcome.

Just on way back from Uttoxeter and decided to call for lunch. We had not been for quite a few years. We were very pleased that the food was excellant(one 10oz steak and one fish) plus a lovely roaring fire. Will be back again soon.

A really tasty lunch and great value. Meat cut nice and thick. Staff very professional and attentive without being over bearing. Beer great also! Loved the beer brewed for them called mc cracken I think? Intend to return with family soon.

Darren has just started doing 2 4 1 pizza on a Thursday so we decided to nip in tonight. The service was warm and friendly, the pub was cosy, the ambience was lovely, the drinks were spot on and most of all the pizza was to die for and unbelievable value. Can’t recommend highly enough!!

We were fortunate enough to win a three course meal for two at this pub in a raffle which had been kindly donated by the owner to a local lady who is running the London Marathon for Meningitis Now. Couldn’t fault the staff and the atmosphere, really friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed all our food, but especially the chicken wings for starter and the pizza which was lovely with a nice thin base. Lots of people seemed to be having these and they can be taken away too. Very reasonable prices on the menu and an original cocktail menu which was also good value at £5.50 a drink. Thank you for a lovely night!

Would definitely recommend this village pub. Food is lovely, especially the pizzas! Great value for money. Staff are very friendly & the service is great. Roaring fire makes for a cosy atmosphere.

Pleasant lunch in traditional village pub.

We are local to Abbots Bromley and visited the Goat so we could all drink too. We all had one of the Pizzas which were really good value at £10 each, allowing a choice of 4 toppings from a large selection. They tasted great too! The atmosphere was back as it was really relaxed and chilled but the bar was buzzing with life!

Visited Wednesday evening. Roaring fire, great feel to the place. Called in for drink but had food too. Superb quality, excellent service, lovely staff. Can highly recommend the place.

Have not been here for some years,even though a local resident. Now under new ownership only in the past few months. Very good, attentive staff, service and food. Excellent steak, cooked to my liking. only open for 6 weeks doing food again, but a great traditional inn with a good atmosphere. We will certainly be back.

Visited this pub with my children during the school holidays. The staff were very welcoming & the food was lovely. Lots of choices on the menu & very reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning.

Very sad to see that the previous owner has moved on. It’s turned back into a mediocre pub serving mediocre beer and standard pub food. Shame, this place used to be a fantastic village pub with quirky food and live music every time you visited. Don’t think we’ll be returning.

Very disappointed the beer was terrible, the service poor and the place looked grimy. will not be going back and we did not bother to order food.

What a find. Nestled on the corner in abbots Bromley - the old grade 2 listed building is awesome . The staff were so friendly and very helpful. The service quick and fast, the food beautifully cooked simple and delicious. Plenty of parking scattered around the village. Do yourself a favour and pop in for a swift pint or rhubarb gin and tonic

In the past, I have experienced disappointment after disappointment when visiting The Goats Head.

We went out for a lovely drive with the kids and decided to pop in to this beautiful pub for a beer and some snacks great place to relax and have some food and drinks and we will be going back again soon when we are up to that way

Why this is not the highest rated pub restaurant in Abbots Bromley is beyond me. We had a fantastic lunch including goat sausages, halloumi salad and nachos with melted Stilton sauce and cranberry. All delicious, along with super fresh French bread and probably the best chips I have eaten. The owner/chef and bar manageress were both delightful and committed, and you could really have trusted the chef to bring you whatever he recommended, in the knowledge that it would be thoughtful, well prepared and good value. Many thanks for a memorable visit.

Stopped here by accident and decided to have lunch. We got a very friendly welcome and a great explanation of the menu. All food was locally sourced and very interesting. Went for the cheese and meat platter and Goatwurst. It is probably the best pub food we have had and great value for money. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. If there were 6 stars I would give it that score. We will definitely visit again when we are back in the area.

Popped in on our walk around the reservoir. Pub had only just opened when 14 of us landed for coffee, drinks and a spot of lunch. Nacho plate and chips for one group and falafel platter with meats, cheeses and breads with a delicious selection of chutneys . The famous platters are well laid out, generous and exceptional quality! Even when the cheese had run out, as they were so amazing, more people were ordering them... the chef made a shopping dash to the local butchers to get extra cheese! Everyone had what they wanted and thought the food was outstanding! The lady at the bar was very welcoming and accommodating, wish we lived near this lovely village. Oh and if you’re musically inclined there is a selection of instruments to pick up and play, including an accordion, violin and piano!! Would definitely return when we’re in the area again! Thanks for being excellent hosts today! And the gin mixers are also great!

We arrived at 3:00 pm after a long drive and even though they had closed their kitchen we were received with such warmth and an offer to serve us lunch. Not only did they offer up their lovely menu for our choice but it was served so beautifully! Great food, awesome presentation and lovely company ... thank you for one of the highlights of our trip!!!

Really amazing food . We had ham hock , beef shin , a meat and cheese platter and a variety of chips. Everything was fantastic - well cooked , and big portions. Excellent service and great wine and beer

Had such a lovely evening last night with a couple of friends in the Goat. Warm welcome when we arrived; Chris and his staff were so friendly and lovely and couldn't do enough for us to ensure we were comfortable. The cheese and quiche platters were ate were delicious, such fantastic value, and the pizza looked amazing! Liqueur coffee afterwards completed the evening. We will be regulars from now on for sure!!

Whether you're local or just passing through Staffordshire, I highly recommend this pub. You will be warmly welcomed by Chris and his team. Very friendly staff who will make you feel at home instantly. The food is freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. The carrot and coriander chips are to die for. Would definitely visit again and recommend to friends.

We arrived at the Goats Head after attending the opening of Dave's new exhibition at the National Memorial Arboretum. Arriving with no prior notice at 9pm, we held out little hope of a warm welcome or hot food. We were genuinely pleased and surprised to receive both. Chris is the kind of person who makes you so glad that you chose their place for a meal. Warm, genuine, entertaining and rightly proud of the Goats head , he persuaded Dave & our friend Chris to have a goat speciality - which they really liked - along with bags of chips. I asked for a one off birthday pizza ...arguably the most artistic and tastiest pizza I've ever had. A great place , great people & we look forward to returning in the coming weeks / months. I dont even know where to start the second we walked through the door we were welcomed by the most friendliest of people that opened up there arms to welcome us in this cosy old style pub. We came in on the off chance for our date night and im so glad we did the food was exceptional, out of this world, we had the burgers and both were amazing ! Presented neatly and modern on a plate i couldn’t recommend this place enough definitely planning another visit soon !!!!

We called in by chance . Lovely old pub, really friendly bar maid who told us there was a large beer garden at the back of the pub. We are vegetarian and she took the tie to check with the Landlord / chef and they did us a lovely felafel cheese platter. Very impressed and we could also have our dog in the beer garden with us. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

At last a great landlord has got the Goats Head. The pub is now a welcoming place, full of conversation and laughter.

Had a really good night at the goat food was excellent and Chris the new landlord and his staff are very welcoming and create a great atmosphere. Look forward to going back again very soon.

Visited with GF - heard good things about the food so that has to be worth checking out! 30 mins drive for us but nice rural ish location. menu is limited pizza burgers and platters, although 2 specials were on. i'm not a massive burger fan was tempted to go else where, anyway we both ordered burger and chips and wow, they didn't disappoint. Food was fresh, contemporary without been pretentious, the taste was lovely and the chips... best iv'e eaten in a pub for ages. the platters coming out were generously sized too. NOW get some pub classics on that menu, steak, pies, and i'm on it!

The new landlord Chris couldn't be more accommodating for any visitor's needs. He had a great and ever-changing specials board and even expanding vegetarian and vegan foods! The atmosphere in the pub is delightful and everyone so welcoming and friendly. Great gins too! Been twice and certain to go back

Since Chris took over just before Christmas this has become our favourite pub in the village to pop in to ... then to stay ... perhaps for too long ...! great food, great array of drinks, always an open fire and a warm welcome. What’s not to like?!

Having drunk and eaten in the pub for many years it was great to see that the pub has finally reopened and is better than ever.

We were not even sure if The Goats Head served food on a Sunday, so we were prepared to be disappointed. We were delighted then to find out that food was available.

We arrived on a wet and windy January weekend: two couples (2 vegetarians), two wet dogs and one excitable 18 month old. We were greeted warmly by friendly staff and a roaring fire.

A place to sit and enjoy a wonderful platter, great wine and feel like you are at home. Chris, the landlord has brought the Goat to the heart of the village again. Long may it last

Great atmosphere. Good beer, lovely wine and a selection of gins. The meat and cheese platter was fantastic, and the special of beef rib and chips was tender and tasty. Welcoming staff, and a new landlord who is friendly and genuinely cares that his customers enjoy their evening. Food reasonably priced. What's not to like!

Ten of us arrived for a pre booked birthday party, we received a warm genuine greeting from Chris the new landlord. There was a big, warm log fire going and the atmosphere was lovely. We had ordered a meat platter, wow! when it arrived we were blown away! There was ribs, oxtails and ham hocks, as well as different cheeses, meats, pork pie and spiced sausages. What a feast! we ate and could not finish it all, the food was truly magnificent, the staff were genuinely friendly and very helpful. This was the best pub meal that many of us had had for many years. There is no doubt we shall be returning again and soon.

Iconic pub in Odle England recently under new ownership. Pub was heaving with people who were not eating and the lack of division between diners and drinkers was an issue for me with people backing into the chairs of my table. The noise was deafening as well and location of my table on the main service route to tables made it a bit uncomfortable. The staff WERE polite and very attentive - a definite positive. The pub grub Fish and Chips for me was average, but not what I anticipated as a Flag Ship Fish Friday offerings. The cod filet was thin, a bit watery, but in a decent batter. Chips and peas nothing special.
