The dishes were well-balanced and used the best ingredients. We had the oak smoked salmon, then the saddle of local roe deer, followed by creme brûlée with raspberries. Everything was perfect.

A very pleasant evening with first class dining, well presented and excellent service. Not cheap but then the food is worth it so no issues there.

Two weeks before Christmas. Table for 10. (At least 1 a vegetarian) What could possibly go wrong? Answer? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Food was excellent. Well cooked, served hot and exactly as described in the menu. Special shout-out to the beef cheeks, the twice baked soufflé and the smoked salmon. Staff were knowledgeable and professional. I’d like to thank all those who served us, took our orders and generally looked after us - Thank You. You made a good evening even better. Varied options on the menu for various tastes and a comprehensive wine list. What more could you want? Haven’t eaten here for 15 years. It was good then, it’s good now.

A very beautiful building in the countryside. The intimacy of the small, beautifully decorated interior rooms made it feel very homely. The table was very well presented with a crisp white table cloth and fresh flowers. The menu was small, but with a good variety of dishes, all freshly prepared and beautifully presented. Well cooked and very tasty. Service was impeccable, professional and friendly.

The Dew Pond never fails to impress. I really must visit more often. Delicious starter and main course for £36. Fine dining at its best. Discrete, efficient waitresses For a mid week evening the restaurant was almost full which shouldn’t have surprised us. Compliments to the chef. We had a birthday lunch for 19 people of very different ages here recently and it was faultless. We had a private dining room with access to a terrace and garden. Everyone had chosen their three course meal from the menu beforehand so the service was very smooth. There is an excellent wine list with a wide range of prices. The food is seasonal and often locally- sourced apart from the fish which is often Cornish as is the chef patron. Highly recommended.

Wow!!! Came here with a group and they had provided a set menu for us. The food was absolutely superb, honestly I could not give you a negative comment about any of it. Pear Salad to start, duck for main and a chocolate dessert. Everyone in our group commented on how fantastic it was. Could not fault the service 10/10

Lovely evening celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. We sat outside with a drink in a pleasant seating area with very nice views whilst browsing the menu. Needless to say our choices of starters, mains and dessert were absolutely delicious and so beautifully presented. We will definitely be going again!

Fantastic experience at The Dew Pond! Beautiful food (cheese soufflé and beef, very much winners), excellent ambience, lovely selection of wine and all very reasonably priced. Very underwhelming all round chef needs to understand that food should be seasoned overall pub food at best

My first visit and sure it will not be the last. Dined with friend who has enjoyed meals here for many years. Seems that a consistent high standard is maintained, as can be seen from other reviews. Food was delicious, served by staff who really know their stuff - no dashing back to chef to answer queries! Menu is not extensive, which is generally a good sign as here, with favourite dishes regularly on the menu such as the twice baked cheese souffle and duck breast and confit leg - highly recommended. Definitely a good idea to book in good time as deservedly very popular.

Seriously good, rather traditional feeling restaurant. Could have chosen many different items from the menu. Double cheese soufflé to start was brilliant. Service good without being overbearing. Came away wanting to return soon.

Celebrated a joint anniversary with friends and we left feeling full of delicious food. The menu was a m eat lovers dream but felt vegetarian options were limited. Food was very reasonably priced and gave fixed costs for 2 or 3 course options. Service was prompt but a couple of staff members lacked the warmth to engage or smile at times. We were asked for our drinks order without having seen the drinks menu which we had to ask for. These are just minor niggles for which was a enjoyable evening of tasty well portioned food.
