I wanted to take a moment to share how wonderful our experience was at the Derby Arms, and it’s all thanks to Lydia. From the moment we were seated, she was fantastic—so friendly, upbeat, and genuinely polite. It’s rare to find someone who balances professionalism with such a warm and welcoming attitude. Lydia really went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. Her positive energy made the entire experience so much more enjoyable. Whether it was recommending dishes or checking in on us at just the right times, she made sure we felt completely looked after. It’s clear Lydia takes pride in what she does, and it really shows. She’s an absolute credit to the team, and we’ll definitely be back thanks to her!

Fantastic xmas meal for our company head office. The place has been recently refurbished and is looking wonderful. The staff are so welcoming, friendly and pleasant and we were seated at a nice table. We had 3 courses from their festive menu and we would highly recommend the scallops as a starter, the pork belly inc delicious crackling as a main and the mince pie tart for pud although all the dishes we tried were incredible. After our meal there was a band playing in the bar area so we got some more drinks and sat and enjoyed the music which finished off our evening perfectly.

Shocking experience Staff really can’t be bothered and the chefs clearly don’t have a clue A Monday night - not busy at all. My order was eventually taken after 45mins in an almost empty restaurant Then “the iPad didn’t work” so my order wasn’t registered. When the Lamb rump arrived and was such a poor, fatty, cut and so overcooked it was as good as inedible. I dread to think how this place makes it through on a busy night - maybe just a classic example of this part of the country. Overpriced poor quality

Sunday lunch after a decent walk around Langley Vale Woods. Lovely roast, brilliant service from really lovely considerate bar team and we will undoubtedly be going again. Bravo Derby Arms!

Visited Wednesday for lunch with mum and Nan, Last visited nearly 10years ago. Lovely pub, food was wonderful and the customer service received by the shift supervisor and waiter was outstanding. Will be returning soon and personally recommend. Thanks you to the team.

Tables in the garden area needed wiping down. After waiting a very long time for our orders the food was dry and over cooked. Myself and guest left most of our lunch as we found it inedible. The one point I gave was for the cleanliness of the ladies toilets.

We have always driven past and thought it was about time to go and try it out and we weren't disappointed. We hadn't booked and they had a couple of tables left for a late lunch. Service was good and a good atmosphere. As this was mid-week and 2.30pm, it was mainly late 50's and older, no children running about. We had the 2 course lunch, parfait and panznela prawns and squid and fishcakes. All the food was lovely and just the right size for a lunch, no pudding was necessary. We felt there was plenty on the both menus for us to choose from. We will be back.

I came down for a spot of lunch and a quick beverage before embarking on a golf day on the wonderful downs. I was served by Rhea and Francesca. Both had a smile on their face and did their utmost to ensure my experience was as delightful and enjoyable as possible. There was a lunch menu which was only 18.95 for two courses. For starter i had the squid which was bursting with flavour. However, the main event blew me away. The fillet steak sandwich was rich in flavour and prepared me for my golf day in spectacular manner. The quantity and quality of food for the price takes some serious beating and if I am in the area again the Derby Arms will most certainly be my first port of call.

A lovely Sunday lunch at this great pub on Epsom Downs with the best and friendliest staff. We were served today by Charlie Junior, who was not only very smartly attired but also extremely attentive and charming to the guests. I can only think that he must have learned his impeccable manners and easy going manner from Charlie Senior! This certainly won’t be our last visit.

We recently enjoyed a meal at The Derby Arms in Epsom and were thoroughly impressed. The management has done an excellent job creating a welcoming, well-run establishment with a charming blend of traditional and modern decor. The food was exceptional. The Steak & Ale Pie was tender and flavourful, and the Beer Battered Fish and Chips was crispy and delicious. My wife’s Superfood Salad looked also fresh and vibrant. The service was top-notch—friendly and attentive, with great care taken for our young children. The kids’ menu was well thought out, featuring children favourites like Chicken Goujons. Their cocktails were impressive, with the “Derby Daiquiri” being a highlight, and the wine selection, including a crisp New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, complemented our meals perfectly. Overall, The Derby Arms is a fantastic choice for families and offers a superb dining experience. Highly recommended!

I came with a friend in February, and it wasn’t good. I have to say that when we returned last night, all very much improved. It was busy and all ran very smoothly. We were looked after by the manager, James, and also David and Emma. Drinks ordered and delivered quickly, food all delicious and nicely presented, courteous, helpful and efficient staff. Only slight niggle was that some of the cutlery was dirty, which is something we experienced in Feb. This wouldn’t put us off returning again though. Praise goes to all involved. We had a lovely evening and thanks for having us! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very slow service and extremely small portions. I had the gammon and chips which was mediocre with chips very hard and crunchy followed by the poached pear which was VERY hard. Tables could do with a good clean. Side plates were both dirty and cutlery could do with polishing before being put on the tables as to the wine glasses. Very smeared and looked unappealing. Prices were quite high end which was expected being on the Downs.

Had lovely meal with friends on bank holiday Monday, the Hake from the specials was cooked perfectly. We was welcomed and seated my Carla who we have been served by before always very friendly and helpful. Definitely our favourite pub in the area. We will be back soon.

We visited on Easter Saturday for a lovely lunch, we sat in the bar area food was delicious, I had the special Ray wing and WOW. While waiting for our meal we was approached by a lovely lady Carla offering our girls to go on Easter egg hunt in the garden, the children were thrilled, especially with the treat at the end. Have to say was a lovely touch, we will definitely be returning again soon.

My friends and I went for a lovely pub lunch on Saturday last week, as a vegetarian I was delighted with the plant-based burger! The service was brilliant, particularly our waitress Issy who was so attentive and was able to give brilliant recommendations for our table.
