Extremely poor service, waited nearly 25 minutes for drinks and almost an hour for food. No information regarding wait times on arrivql. Other customers looking at watches, trying to gain staff attention as they too had been waiting a significant time to be served. All in all, an unpleasant experience.

Typical example of complacency now entrenched in this place with expensive food and poor service. Visited today and had to wait a good 45 minutes for very average food. No communication, no apology, staff looked as if they would rather be elsewhere than serving paying guests, who at the end of the day pay their wages. Used to be a very pleasant place but certainly on its way down the pan - big style. Other guests looking at their watches and wondering when their food will arrive. I wouldn't be surprised if this place closes down soon due to a diminished customer base. Also surprised to see no response to any of these increasing in numbers complaints by the Manager....good luck! Eventually a vacant space to store your tractors....

Have visited The Deer Park on several occasions and have always had a pleasant visit and enjoyable food. Not on this visit! I will not be returning or recommending this place again. The restaurant was relatively busy, to be expected on a lunch time visit. We were seated quickly and after a little wait our order was taken. Drinks arrived and then we waited, waited, waited and waited some more! Other diners that had arrived before and after use were looking around, wondering what was going on. After around 45 minutes our decidedly average food arrived. We had waited all that time for a basic salad and hotdog! No apology for the wait, the waitress mumbled something and off she went. When we came to pay not one comment about the visit, was the food ok, was everything OK? £30 for a salad, hotdog and two soft drinks. At this stage I couldn't be bothered to even say anything. Really used to rate this place, not anymore. Overpriced, average quality and staff that didn't seem interested. Such a shame as the location is stunning. Reading other reviews it seems we are not alone in our experience. Sorry to see a once great establishment go down hill.

As we were staying fairly close to Deer Park we decided to visit today. We certainly was not disappointed. From arriving at reception we were greeted with a lovely warm welcome and then the same at the cafe area. Followed by a really detailed and informative tour by Kathryn to feed the Deer in the park. We will certainly return with grandchildren next time . We can thoroughly recommend a visit for all the family to the Deer Park.

Been recommended here by quite a few people. Told it was right up my street - posh cafe, nice little shops. As a member at Hoar Cross I've driven past here hundreds of times, but never even knew what it was - as there's no real signage to suggest what it is - they'd attract a lot more custom if it were signposted. It looks like any normal entrance to a private farm. I've come here a few times now - enjoyed the lunches. Came here with my wife last week and again this week with some of the guys from work for a business meeting/lunch. We all enjoyed it. Food and service was brilliant. It was a shame to see the butcher closed on the Monday. I am just marking this down for the following reasons; 1) I was in a party of 3, asked if we could sit at one of the tables by the doors, to enjoy the views, but was told they are only for parties of 4. Why then, have on both times, 2 elderly women been sat on those tables after us when there are plenty of free tables for 2? I suspect there's a lot of favouritism towards regulars. 2) The entranceway drive off Maker Lane is horrendous. Huge bricks sticking up to seriously damage your car. Considering the clientele they are trying to attract, most have nice cars and this could cause serious issues. These bricks sticking up are on the property line for Deer Park, so they would be fully liable should there be a claim from damage caused. I dont want to risk it again, so for the moment I'll be avoiding coming here. What a shame. You'd think the money they are raking in from this that they'd spend some of it fixing their entranceway. Come on guys, it's not acceptable.

Was just passing by and thought we'd have a cuppa. Dogs in cafe, just don't like it so didn't have a drink. Went in farm shop. Big sign at the entrance stated NO Dogs in farm shop, so why were 2 dogs in there. I mentioned it at the till and got raised eyebrows and a big wide grin. At the butchers counter I walked up and the server just dived into the back room and didn't come back. No 'I'll be just a second'. Not a good experience. Will not visit again.

We are regulars here as it is so close to home. Why travel when you have delicious food and excellent service on your doorstep? We have been for a walk around their woodland finished with very good coffee on the sunny terrace, many breakfasts and lunches - always prompt, efficient and friendly service. The food is excellent, never been disappointed. Everything we have tried on the menu has been a triumph. Their festive afternoon tea was also much enjoyed by a large group. 2nd visit to the deer park and probably the last. We were seated quite quickly and given menus and told it was waitress service . Waited more than half an hour for service and had to chase it up . We ordered 3 toasted tea cakes and a slice of toast , 3 coffees and a tea . Another half an hour before his was served and people who arrived and seated after us were served before us . After the wait the tea cakes were dreadful like boards and the toast was incredibly dry , the coffee was good but the tea was very weak . Was the worst value for money I have experienced in a long time . Won’t be rushing back anytime soon .

Have been a number of times up to the Deer Park but it’s certainly lost its charm and replaced it with greed and cost cutting instead. If you’re paying over £5 for a pot of tea, and you can only get one measly thimble of moisture out of it between two of you, there’s a problem. There used to be a nice gesture on the side of your saucer of a little biscuit or cake square, that’s no longer there. Ordered two slices of cake- these slices came to nearly £8 for the two and the size of the slices were a disgrace for that price! Who charges almost £4 a slice for the thinnest, driest bit of cake?! It what honestly as thin as a piece of bread (X2). Cutting quality and quantity and going for profits. Save yourself the bother, the money and the disappointment and give it a miss.

I’ve had a coffee before at deer park and I couldn’t fault it but the customer service I received the other day was just not up to scratch. The waitress sat us down next to the door but there were too many wasps landing on us whilst we was having our drinks so I went up and politely asked a waitress if we could move to table 4 she said it wasn’t a problem. When we received our food a different waitress told us that if a group of four came in we would have to move. Yet there was plenty of other tables of four. The table was not reserved either. I just thought they would rather make a profit from having 2 extra people than us having a good experience, overall just disappointing.

Nice couple of walks to choose from, lovely patio area to sit outside and enjoy the views.... unfortunately very much spoilt recently by the vast amounts of wasps that seem to have moved in. Hopefully they will try and sort this out soon as it is impossible to sit outside and enjoy a drink and lunch without being continuously pestered by wasps. Food is fantastic, nice to have a look round the shop too.

What a shockingly, unbelievable weird experience I encountered when being a served a Tetley teabag when they adverse on the menu Speciality English Breakfast Tea, in fact all of the teas on the menu are entitled Speciality Teas and the boxes are behind the counter on display. When I queried what I had been served I was told it is Tetley, because that is all we have and apportioned the blame on me for not asking? They reluctantly took the tea off my bill, and when I asked for an apology the woman refused .. said I should've asked..but why? I ordered what was advertised. She slapped my change for the rest if the bill in my hand and asked me not to shout, I was not shouting, just being clear about merely looking for the reasoning that had to be prised from her, because she knew it was wrong and false advertising when you order and they do not tell you there has been a change. I certainly do not go to a restaurant like that for cheap tea at top price. Very rude, unapologetic, no empathy or personality, in her approach.

Don’t be fooled by the welcoming message on the website. We have been regular customers at the deer park since it opened and always enjoyed our visits. When visiting recently with some friends, we were shouted at by the owner for daring to have a picnic on the woodlands walk. There was no signage saying we couldn’t do this, nor info on the website, had planned to go and get snacks from the cafe/shop afterwards to get snacks and ice cream. The owner came and shouted at us all in front of our children who were really upset about it. She could clearly learn a lot from a member of staff who was much more polite about it. We won’t be visiting again and I wouldn’t recommend making a visit. The owner was incredibly condescending and rude and I would t want to support this business. She has lost loyal customers and many onward recommendations by being so rude and upset my children who have enjoyed many previous visits.

Too few staff for the amount of tables and outside dining space. One girl was litereally dripping in her own sweatshe was running round and looked aexhausted. Food choice was boring mostly bread based and brought to the tiny table, in a ridiculous box. Ledging 3 boxes on a small circular table is a juggling act! How can you eat with a knife and fork from a crate with sides 4 inches high?! More imprornantly how do you properly clean a box! The wait was half an hour for basic food and I saw another couple get up and leave as their food never arrived at all. One of the benches outside was almost broken in half with the wood split in the middle and protruding. This should have been removed and was most definitely a health and safety risk. Im guessing greed for more profit is the bottom line here. Sad as this could be a lovely setting. The walk was pleasant apart from a path through a field of nettles and insufficient signage. Little to buy or look at in the "shop". Sad this could be a fantastic place to visit as the location is beautiful.

Absolutely shocked and appalled by the poor customer services at The Deer Park. This morning, 3 of us visited the cafe which was empty with the exception of 2 tables. Because there were 3 of us, we were told we must sit at a table set for 3. These specific tables were not situated to enjoy the beautiful outdoor views so we decided to move . We were shouted at over the cafe by, who I assume was the manager, to vacate the seats because it would be busy soon for lunch. The altercation was embarrassing and unnecessary. I said we had decided not to stay and the manager just shrugged. If the manager does read this, your tables for 3 are in fact for 4 if you add an extra chair to the empty side of the square table and your tables for 4 could actually seat 6. We will not be returning to The Deer Park.
