Hands down the worst indians iv had, dupiza wasn't dupiza was swimming in grease and had absolutely no flavour..the homemade chips were frozen chips, the poppadoms had the worst taste ever to them... the only thing half decent was the nan bread... won't be ordering again

The food never arrived stopped replying to my phone calls after they picked up and inquired about the order

No phone call replies and they took the money accepted the order and never responded,

Ordered 3 bags of chips, we received none only received the three pizzas one of which was covered in mould and the chips on the London pizza were stale and old

Have not had a takeaway from here for a while, and it has certainly gone downhill. Waited 1 1/2 hours. It was lukewarm. Tikka chips were ordinary frozen chips with just a little bit of chicken tikka added. Korma sauce was watery, and didn't taste of anything. Onion bhajis were dry and also tasteless. Never again!! Oh, also mint sauce was a very strange colour.

This used to be an outstanding takeaway which I gave 5 stars to. We considered it the best Indian we had been to in Gosforth. However, over the last year it has gone downhill in my opinion. Last time I went I thought that the food was bland and the the naan was dry (not sure, but it tasted like it had been under a heat lamp for too long). Honestly not a great experience. Won't be going back.

AMAZING FOOD!! LOTS OF SPICES and the customer service is excellent expecially the lady in the front.

my go to take away great portion sizes for price and so delicious best kebabs i have ever had!

Pre ordered and waited over 1 hour, onion bhaji burnt, one missing out the mixed kebab, currys were watery and tasted just like a curry you make at home, bombay potato no taste and like water. Mint sauce was like water, poppadoms tested old. The portion are realy small now compared to what you used to get

Ordered £40 pounds worth of food came on time peshwari nan .did not taste like one .garlicchips were Tikka £7 for delivery even though I live less than a mile away. 6 small bits of chicken in Masala rice was OK. Sagaloo had no taste bombay potatoes had no taste delivery driver came all I could get out him was I give you discount next time could not understand what he meant.containers had been placed on top of each other in bag which had open containers . Will not be ordering from here again . Rang to complain guy who answered very sarcastic not really interested .asked for owner said he would get him to ring sometime as he was a very busy man .

2.5 hours delivery time (40 minutes informed on ordering), rude, unprofessional staff (‘I don’t care, you’re only one customer’), cold, foul tasting food, I could go on. Awful, don’t waste your money here.

Honestly the best Indian place I have been to in a very long time. Finally a place for authentic cuisine and delicious flavors! Extra bonus for the staff that is so welcoming and friendly, full of advice and always there to recommend the chef’s specials or personal favorites. I would highly recommend and would suggest not missing out on the garlic naan, one of a kind. Thank you The Spice Cottage, and definitely see you soon :)

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!! Microwaced dry kebab. The donner meat was a greeny black colour and hard like plastic. When we called to complain they said they would give us some free garlic and chilli sauce next time after spending just short of £16 on a kebab I wont eat. I posted pics of the meat on facebook and my phone hasnt stopped with people informing me of how filthy the kitchen is there and stories of rat infestations. Safe to say I wont be ordering from these scruffy bamps ever again

Absolutely revolting. Took over an hour to deliver a kebab and when it got here the meat wasike plastic and was a dark greeny black colour. Bunch of stinkers

We ordered two meals, both of which were really really poor. My wife described it as the worst curry she has ever eaten. Just plain bad in very respect. Pakora dry and tasteless. Bhajis greasy. Bhutanese bland and salty. Khaki tasted weird. Naan more like a pizza.

This is worst Indian food in the north east and I am Indian! Stay well away! Had a terrible stomach in the middle of the night! I should be issued a refund due to the quality of the food!

This is possibly the worst Indian takeaway that I have ever had food from! only 4 small pieces of meat and the chicken chat was like water disgracefull! never ordering again from here! the nan had that much garlic butter on that it was soggy! The only good thing I received was my rubicon mango!

Absolutley beautiful. I ordered chilli and garlic chips, chicken Jhal Jul, chicken tikka masalla, mushroom pilau, special kebab starter, and 2 garlic chipattis. They followed instructions that I added to the order and it was absolutely gorgeous. Can't wait yo order again ❤️

Should have ordered a vegetarian pizza I may have found some meat on it. Meat thali was meat free and I'm sure a keema naan should have meat in it so it's not mistaken for a plain naan . Can't remember making a new years Resolution to go veggie.

What an absolute lush meal that was. 5 stars I would give more if I could. We had the lamb rogan dish chicken tika masala and onion Bhaji. My plate was 100% empty by the end. £20 odd quid. More than we pay for Chinese but oh my what a nice treat that was. We always get a spice cottage for special occasions. Top marks to the friendly staff as well. 10/10 5 star 100% happy customer.

Used this takeaway twice so far as we live in Preston Lancashire but visit family in Kenton. It is by far better than any Indian we have experienced in either Preston or Newcastle. Authentic delicious flavours and extremely helpful owners. Order through their web site and it saves your previous orders....very helpful as I couldn't remember what i had 3 months ago😊 We look forward to our next trip so we can get another takeaway. Jacqui

Had the most amazing curry and naans from here! My other half ordered a grill box which he absolutley loved! I ordered a Chicken masala with some plain Naan and it was mouthwatering! Best Indians in town! :)

Placed an order lastnight...was told it was £35 ,which we thought was very expensive for what we ordered! Got rang back and was told it was now £33 as they had calculated wrong.was told would be there in 45 minutes ....an hour and a half later it turns up cold .after bighting the bullet and warming up a bit in micowave we started to eat. Poppadums soft not fresh ,starters small (even though one was a special) on eating it i thought i had a piece of bone in my mouth but what was in the food was a piece of razor sharp plastic 1cm long. (Which could of caused injury) . After finding this i rang to complain and ask for a full refund.was told ok by the lady who then put the manager on who said he would not beable to do that.Astonished! He offered a free starter next time we placed an order. Which was laughable. Completely put off the which was bad standards anyways. DO NOT EAT HERE! waste of £33 and discraceful cusomer services. Shahe Wansbeck is 100% better especially the restraunt . Will be reporting to FOOD STANDARDS AGENCY .

This Indian takeaway, after changing their name and chef. It became fabulous. Great service. Nice food. We got chicken tikka masala, korma dishes, biryani and prawn omelette were so far so good. Keep it up.

The food at this place was delicious and probably one of the best places in Newcastle for a quick bite; as well as having great customer service, especially from a new kid called aman who seems like a top lad.

Just enjoyed the best takeaway. Service was also excellent . Have been getting food here for years and this was far superior than I have had before. Have just been informed that it has new owner. Excellent!!!!

Llamamos a la orden y esperar por la comida y el personal era muy amable y servicial a la hora de recomendar platos. Había que esperar un poco, pero la sala de espera estaba limpia y era cómoda. La comida era decente pero no increíble. La nan peshwari era excelente, pero el curry y dal eran normales. Aunque nada malo con la media!

Fantastic food never a let down

Got my order few nights ago chicken pokoras were burnt curry was too hot when I asked for it not to be and garlic coriander bread was dry not much garlic n as for coriander there hardly any chicken was beautiful n fresh tho.

The prawns were gone off and the cream they used in the curry I got was also gone off and missed something off the order and the Popadoms were old and soft. Nice delivery driver though.

Ordered quite early on in the evening on Thursday night with my dad and step mam and the food was just as good and I'd highly recommend this to anyone, we've used the same Indian takeaway for 11 years and only just recently starting using this one and it's by far the best also the staff are lovely and friendly :)

Tasteless muck, new chef bad ideas, Has changed classic recipes for the worst, IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT, Thought I'd found the perfect Indian food and have been using this place for years, and now it's all been ruined because some idiot thinks it's a good idea to take almonds and cream out of a tika mossala and replace it with tasteless fruity mush that could be mistaken for wallpaper paste...... Brilliant customer service, great value, but unfortunately an idiot for a so called chef that can make something classic taste worse than baby food... I will not be going back and will never recommend it to anyone...........!!!!!!!
