Become our go-to place for curry after trying many, many restaurants/takeaways. Great range of dishes, generous portions sizes, good price and always delivered piping hot.

The food was not very nice at all I would never go back ..... small portions and only part of the menu was available....no set meals available prices was shocking too

Ordered today for the first and last time from them, they cook their food in petrol I can assure you of that because you can taste and smell it especially from their crispy potato. I have never spitted food out of my mouth my whole life but I wouldn't just spit that dish out of my mouth but also burn it making sure even insects won't have to suffer through it. Any chicken dish will have a massive proportion of onions in it and the minimum amount of chicken. Feels like they cook their food at the start of the year then freeze it and then serve it to people for the whole year. This restaurant should be banned because I believe they are probably selling poison.

Have visited several times with friends. This is a small, family-run eatery with tasty, freshly cooked (so takes a little while to arrive) food at very fair prices. Husband and wife team are quietly friendly and welcoming. Bring your own drinks, too - makes it even better value! What's not to like?

My friends and I loved this place before lockdown and now back to normal personal service fro the lovely attentive husband and wife. The food is delicious the most perfect rice ever and you can have your curry however you like it made. My friend sometimes eight in number cannot speak to highly of the food and service.

Just moved to Newcastle today after living in Stirling and Bradford and thought of having some good food, tried lot of asian restaurants but what I can say is worst Indian food I have tasted so long in terms of quantity and taste and worst decision to order from this restaurant. I called the restaurant for complain but instead of apologies what response I got was rude and arrogant response that if I am expecting Indian food, I am mad because chef has been preparing this food and running takeaway/restaurant for 21 years and he is 46 years old. Rarely gave negative review to any takeaway in past but I would be very much happy to give 0 star instead of 1 star. Anyone can get in touch with me personally to know the issue.

Got a Just Eat delivery from here arrived on time and still hot! I got the Punjabi Chilli Chicken Tikka (Hot) which was nice i also got a Garlic Nan and A King Prawn Bhuna.. the Nan could have done with more Garlic butter on it but it was really nice and soft and tasted quite nice. The Bhuna wasnt the usual style im used too being quite yellow in colour and really oniony however that being said it did actually taste nice especially the big juicy prawns. All in all it was a nice meal 👍😁👌

Never one to write bad reviews but this was crap, took two hours to come and they wouldn’t answer the phone so we drove there. There was another group who had driven there as they had the same problem. They shut the door in their face and were extremely rude. The food eventually came but when it did it was disgusting, the korma was that sweet it would’ve been better in Charlie the chocolate factory rather than a curry. As students we can’t afford to spend a lot so we treated each other for a pals birthday, we are extremely disappointed as they got £60 altogether between us but couldn’t even provide good service.

I write this with a heavy heart, as I don't really like criticising something that is someone's livelihood. However I feel I have to. I had a take-away from Chillies and it, well wasn't great. Firstly I ordered a chicken chaat, and got chickpeas. Secondly I'm pretty sure the onion salad pot was off - it smelt and tasted bad. Thirdly the chicken tikka bhuna was truly poor. Tiny pieces of chicken, and not very many. Swimming in oil, and the sauce was basically just diced under-cooked onions. Come on. Either blend them, or leave them sliced. Not diced. I wouldn't be surprised if they were bought in diced. They really ruined the dish. And lastly the naan was undercooked and the dough not fully risen. On a positive note (and I like to leave on one), the mushroom bhaji was pretty good. I'm afraid there are way better curries in the area.

Delivery confirmed for 18:30 to 18:50. Now 20:00 and still no delivery and Chilies not answering phone. Abysmal service!!! If they can't cope with the orders then they should not be accepting the order and taking the money!!! Last time I try this lot. I recommend Cafe Spice and will be going back there for future orders.

I order from here all the time. The Chicken tikka masala is delicious. All the food is high quality. Service is fast. Nicest indians for miles.

We have eaten in at Chillies several times in the past, and it has been reasonable. But we had a takeaway tonight and it seems to have gone down hill in quality and value for money. The chicken tikka masala was bland, with very little chicken. The naan bread was overcooked to the point of being crispy. Sad that it isn’t what it used to be.

We recently visited for our annual sport Christmas meal and had a brilliant time. The staff were friendly and attentive and nothing was too much of an issue for them. The food was divine and came out very quickly. Would recommend to others as had such a good time. Thanks once again!

This is the 3rd time i have ordered from chillies and its always a disaster! No more. They always miss something off the order that you have paid for!! I like the food when you go to the restaurant but please don't order food from them to be delivered.....it takes forever there'll be stuff missing and itll be cold!!! No more. Theyve sadly lost my business.

Been dining here for a few years with family, friends and colleagues. The food is always delicious, the staff are really friendly. The menu has a good selection of various dishes, and they can adapt it to your taste too. The restaurant is spacious and cosy, unlike most restaurant this doesn’t feel like over the top decor, more down to earth. The staff are very attentive and the owner/manager, Hussain, is always serving with a smile and willing to go the extra mile every time we visit. I highly recommend this place, you won’t be disappointed.

Very accommodating for my disabled daughter nothing was to much trouble and the food was the closest thing to eating on the streets of Bali as you can get in the uk this is a all round hidden gem

Been to Chillies yesterday as this place always top on my fav list. Enjoyed my Lamb Tikka Karahi. Got chance to talked to the Chef and I got amazed by knowing his depth knowledge about curry industry. Good food, excellent service. Good job Chillis.

Been there before food is exclusive and the staff nice and polite really friendly and me and my family really enjoyed food service plus free car parking that's a bonus will be recommended to anyone to give them a try. Manager mr Hussain is polite and very helpful and the price is very reasonable..

Had been with my friends during the weekend. Good and friendly service with good food and fabulous taste. There was no much waiting time as they had a quick service. Varieties of items on the menu. The soothing music was a plus point. Prices were affordable for students like us. Would visit it often and would recommend to others.

Came here Friday night with my boyfriend who has previously been and recommended we try together. Service was very poor with the main waitress not having much of a clue about anything they served.. though the owner/manager was apologetic. Only one other table in the restaurant and it took over an hour for our main after a bland chicken tikka starter. Ordered a ghost dish which was stated as “really spicy”... no flavour and not even a touch of heat which was disappointing. Only positive was BYO, shame!

Staff were rushed off their feet as the takeaway orders were coming in thick and fast, however, regardless they looked after us well and the food was on point. Hidden little gem with bring your own alcohol!

This is a great place to have a curry. Loads of choice of dishes, including some wonderful speciality dishes. Hossain and all the staff are really knowledgeable about their food and really helpful if you aren't sure what to order. Generous potions and really delicious food.Can't praise them highly enough. Just ordered food from here, after waiting 1hr 30 mins, they sent the food out for delivery, then out of the blue notified me that they've cancelled the order. Absolutely starving, ridiculously bad service.

A hidden gem. Explanation about the Karahi form of cooking tempted us to try new dishes. Wide selection of side orders and boy, it had a bite. Good value as no table licence meant we had a carry in. Great value all round.

Hi I was today in chills Balti house food was fantastic and service was great . I got tandoori mix grill and Peshawari nan absolutely fantastic I love it . Staff was ver friendly and family atmosphere.

This is a little gem of a restaurant we found as a couple a few years back by chance, and still come when we can. Proper authentic Indian food- excellent value and friendly staff. We always get our takeaway curry’s from Chillies and their partner shop spice 14. They do the best tasting curry which always lives up to expectations. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. We will be back time and time again

We have been coming to this restaurant since it first opened and we have always found the food to be fresh, tasty and excellent quality. Hussain and his team are very welcoming and helpful.The restaurant doesn’t have an alcohol license so it’s BYOB and there isn’t a corkage charge!

Chillies is off the beaten track as far as newcastle city centre is concerned but well within the ambit of many student halls of residence around the ouseburn and Heaton. The dining area is having a makeover with a fresh coat of paint and the tables and comfortable chairs are arranged spatially to give diners plenty of room. But the main reason to eat here is the high quality freshly made Indian food menu that has offers galore for the afficianadoes of Indian cuisine. The reason we go there is we always have a warm welcome and no matter what you want they go out of the way to please. Bring your own drinks has always been the policy here with no corkage to worry about. Special blackboard offers are displayed on the wall to tempt you into new tastes but best of all you can still order all your own favourites from the extensive menu. Try it and see how your taste buds respond. We return on a regular basis to enjoy the food and the warm welcome. Now open every day of the week from 5pm to 11pm.

this is not the first time i have been to this restraint, when walking in im always welcomed by staff who make you feel welcome, food is amazing and always on time without fail, the staff are very helpful to offer something that will satisfy your taste buds also if you are not into hot foods they will be more than happy to dull down the spice for you, all round nice place to eat with love ones

Me and my family go to chillies balti house atleast twice a week if not then we get our food delivered. The atmosphere in the restuarant is welcoming and friendly and the food is abdolutely delicious, great portions for an even better price. When we get it delivered the driver is always quick and always early and even let me know when hes leaving the restaurant with our food. Me and my family cannot recommend this place enough. Not many places in heaton/byker where you can have a nice meal out with your family, or a cheeky curry with your mates, they also allow you to bring in your own alcohol aswell so thats a bonus. The guys who work there the boss and delivery driver are all friendly guys who work hard to provide the best food and best service to there customers.

My fave place to get a great Indian takeaway but seeing as I live so close it’s so worth going in for the fresh Naan and hot off the hob curries!The tikka paneer and onion baajis were also brill!Great service from lovely staff!Will be returning for sure!

Chillies has been our choice of Indian food for over 5 years now since being introduced by a friend who only discerns the best food, and we need to add our support and recommendation to their new trip advisor site.What can you not enjoy when the food looks and tastes so fantastic (no greasy oil compared to so many), portion sizes are great (you will not leave hungry) and cracking value for money (helped by BYOB). The sizzling starters are fantastic main course selections great and delicious nan breads just add to the spread.Hussain the manager and his staff work very hard to make sure you have an enjoyable meal and evening.The dining area is small but gives an intimate feel and if you AREN’T looking for a lively/noisy venue with lots of frills then look no further Note they only take cash now but there’s a cash point 20 yards away.Be compelled to go and give the restaurant a try as well as using them as your No 1 take away !

From walking in, staff were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is small, basic however clean and tidy.
