Had a birthday celebration there on Monday evening. The food was absolutely delicious & the staff could not have been more attentive & friendly. Great night, thoroughly enjoyed the experience

I went to the shahe for a family meal on my birthday. The staff were very tentative and the food was extremely good. Would highly recommend.

First time ordering from just eat. Excellent timely delivery and the food was so fresh and tasty. First time from an Indian restaurant the chicken actually tasted fresh and like chicken. Real home cooked Indian food. Thank you, will will return.

Such a friendly and welcoming restaurant! My wife and I were provided with a table for two without a reservation, and felt very welcomed as soon as we arrived. We ordered from the new menu which was fantastic. We shared two starters, poppadoms and a main course, all of which were fantastic. I highly recommend the lamb chop starter, and the rice & chicken side from the new menu was incredible. Staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, and I’m already looking forward to going back. Highly recommended

We had the new menu and the whole meal was absolutely delicious. Went for the lamb and chicken tandoori starters, both meats were cooked perfectly. We followed with the butter chicken and a fluffy chicken rice delight which I highly recommend, we had the lightest, crispiest garlic naan and a mint chickpea dish which finished the entire thing off perfectly. We are moving to Regent Farm soon and are over the moon to have found the place. We will try their traditional menu next but feel very lucky to have them almost on our doorstep. Lovely people too. Absolutely worth a try.

Amazing food😋 I had a takeaway for dinner and I love every bite of food. I had Dal makhani, chole, zeera rice and paneer mushroom starter. Dal makhani and chole with zeera rice is perfect for the Indian palate. The way the new management is attending the customers and customising the food orders according to the customer's palate is appreciable. I have had food from here few times before under old management, but every time it disappointed me in spite of instructing about the food taste i.e., Indian palate. I am glad that I tried food here under new management. I definitely recommend trying this place.

Ordered a takeaway from the new Shahe Dastarkhwan, there's not much I can say apart from the food I had was probably the best Indian food I've had in a long time. It certainly exceeded any other Indian food available in the area. I had Lamb Rogan, chapati, pilau rice, garlic chips and a bottle of cobra. Honestly please give the new Shahe a chance, you won't be disappointed

Still under a bit of renovation after the management change. Really delicious food, nailed the curry dishes. Enjoyed a wonderful night out here with some extended family, glad we chose our local favorite.

I am very particular about food & this restaurant is my favourite. Best Taste, best ambience, best people who delightfully prepare freah meals, no restaurant in UK serves such yummy Indian food and its my favourite. I tried so many veg cuisines like butter paneer chola bhatura it was soo yummy and my friends ordered butter chicken, chicken biryani they said it was super awesome. Recommended to all my friends in New Castle and they now come very often bcoz they loved the taste toooo❤️

We went to dine in as the new owner had taken over and had offers 😅 we wanted to see what new things were on offer. Food was really amazing and the atmosphere was very friendly. Good Vegetarian options and our kid loved the food as well.

Tried Shahe under the new management and it is the best Indian food I have ever had!! We had a wide variety of food and could not fault a single thing. Huge chunks of delicious meat, beautiful flavours. The delivery driver was very polite and we will definitely be coming back! Chanchal has done an absolutely incredible job, I can’t stop thinking about the butter chicken!!

I recently visited this Indian restaurant in Newcastle while meeting family, and it was an incredible experience!😍 The owners were very welcoming and approachable😊, and the food was some of the best Indian cuisine I've tasted in the UK. Authentic flavors can be hard to find, but this place truly delivered💗. They even let us try some new taster dishes😋 they’re planning to add to the menu, which were simply outstanding✨. Huge thanks for the warm hospitality—I highly recommend giving this place a try!

The new owners were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The festive menu they introduced is impressive—a really nice spread with something for everyone. One standout dish was the new Butter Chicken. It had a rich, authentic flavor and is a must try !! I’d also highly recommend the Dal Makhani to any vegetarians craving a true taste of India; it's absolutely delicious, creamy, and perfectly spiced. They are offering 20% off every Monday through Wednesday if you dine-in, which is a great deal and makes it the perfect time to try them out. Wow! My new favourite Indian! We got a delivery and it was still nice and warm. The chicken was big chunks of breast and the lamb was amazing (I don’t usually like lamb but it was delicious and tender). I think they gave us an extra starter which was yummy and had a nice popadom with yogurt sauce which was delicious. The nans were also yummy especially the peshwari. Couldn’t have been nicer! And a good price too. Thanks

We get our weekly takeaway from here and both the food and service are excellent. we pass other Indian restaurants on our way but this one remains our favourite.

Sadly, a little disappointed. Last week I ordered a vegetable Thali via the website and it was poor. Thought I’d give it another go as had a stamp card saving. Food was just ok. I’m a meat eater but Indian Veg food usually so great - this all tasted the same again. Not the same standard I’ve been used to Shahe.

Awful, would not recommend. Ordered through FoodHub for a Saturday night takeaway and it was disgusting. Chicken pakoras were rock hard, meat was soft in the lamb biryani but the whole meal was just so salty, no taste other than salt and finally the mixed naan wrap was salty and chewy.

Takeaway - one meal didn't arrive, had to chase it. Service over the phone was awful. I appreciate things get missed off an order but its the attitude in putting it right that counts. 1 meal was fine, the one that arrived a lot later was just ok at best.

Yummiest food, I came to celebrate my daughters birthday. The owner, the food,the menu the atmosphere is amazing. I am looking forward to eat the yummy Indian food again. Kudos to the chef for making such yummy food

Dined here for my mams birthday, really good food and staff. The night we dined was the new owners first day with the business and told us his plans, a really exciting time for welbeck road area, with dine out options sparse in the area, anyone wanting a authentic meal in good settings should go here.

10/10 new management would recommend will be going again. The food was hot, nice private setting attentive staff and homely settings.

We dined in. There was no one else in but can't fault the place. Clearly make their money from takeaway as the door never stopped for collections.

After reading a few of the reviews I was a bit concerned but I need not have been. Food was delicious, piping hot , the chicken in my meal was cooked perfectly and the sauce was lovely. Would definitely recommend and come back again. Thank-you

Good food was fat with every order loved it

Food came fast but besides the naan bread it was really unpleasant. The curry just tasted like vegetable soup and everything was soft like it had been sat there for ages, the saag paneer only had a few chunks of paneer and the samosa had zero flavour. The rice was normal and garlic naan was tasty, but we left most of the rest.

Before we left, my partner put £60 in book and I handed it over and then we have been accused that he has not done that one of their stuff decided to shake his head up me and tell me that he didn’t do that I know for fact, I am 300 positive he put that money in because I watched him do it and I handed it over to them and now we have been accused that we have not done that. I’m sorry but the food is lovely but we are not getting accused as common criminal

Only a short wait for the food,and it was really nice too!

Lamb chops were rubbery and bland, the chicken tikka masala was too sweet and the rogan Josh was watery with no flavour whatsoever.

Our order was delivered, quickly identified it wasn't ours. Rang them, it took 10mins to convince them that we didn't have what we ordered. Our order was delivered 20mins later however it had been collected from someone else's house and our food had been opened. It was also by this point cold. Absolutely disgusting that they think this is OK. Been ordering for 16 years from there however won't be doing so again.

Such a good take away, I asked about a free Naga pickle (not something they normally do), he rang back and mentioned that it isn't a part of the menu due to cost of product etc. He was very pleasant about this, really appreciated the time he took to ring and explain rather than just ignoring the request, great food and great customer service. Received my take away and they've only bloody given me some of that sweet sweet firey pickle and the lamb Naga was to die for, just the right balance of spice and flavour combined with genuine lamb rather than the cuts of mutton that are so often prevelant in curry houses. Really impressed with the okra dish too. EDIT - THE BEST DAHL TADKA SINCE I WENT TO MUMBAI Shahe is an absolute bae of a takeaway, 10 out of 10 would go again any time ❤️

Was a little cold but enjoyed it anyway

Was 40 mins later than the latest time suggested - said between 19:50-20:10 and arrived at 20:50. Hence it was cold, which lowered my quality score. All food taste wise was actually delicious apart from lamb being tough - some bits unchewable

I've been using the Shahe on and off for years now and I've always spoke very highly of the place but this time I was very disappointed with the food I got, pretty bland and I'm sure the nan breads get smaller very time I get one and it's not exactly cheap, would think twice about returning.

Lovely flavourful food as always but way too spicey! R21 and a Tikka Balti were so much spicier than the last time we ordered them. Unfortunately I couldn't eat mine, so really disappointing this time.

Food is always brilliant from here & tonight was no exception. Not only that but the driver turned up without the bottle of beer I had ordered, before I even had the chance to plate my food another driver turned up at my door with my beer! Exceptional customer service!

Food always arrives piping hot and quality is exceptional

Curries didn’t have much flavour in our opinion. A medium hot curry that doesn’t have any heat at all was fairly disappointing.
