The pub was celebrating it's 2nd birthday with the present owners and it was an amazing day. They really made everyone feel welcone and laid on a hog roast and a band. It was busy all day. Lots of laughing and smiley faces. Well done Kerry and Alan

The Cricketers Arms is a very nice looking pub, old world, with a patio at the front and side with plenty of seating. It was a nice welcome, obviously a really sociable pub and I had a quick look over the menu, which looked decent. I've been there a couple of times mid week now and sorry to say, both times the cask beer was past it's best and not very enjoyable. This is a shame as they have some local beers on and they're clearly trying but it's obviously just not turning over quickly enough. I suspect most of the beer is sold at the weekends when more people are coming for meals, then if not many of the week day regulars are ale drinkers, it just isn't selling. There's no point trying to sell beer on a Wednesday or Thursday that's been sat there since the previous weekend, it's gonna be horrible. It's really three days max on cask beer. Maybe cutting down from three ales to two at the weekend and just the most popular one during the week, could keep turnover/quality a bit tighter?!

It was promoted as Shrove Tuesday pancakes. I’m not a big fan of pancakes per se, but I came along any way to support #shonaskitchen who was delivering tonight’s delicacies. I’m not big on sweet things these days, so ordered the savoury ham, mushroom and cheese galette with salad garnish and tomato relish. WOW, what a delight…. Tasty 🤤

If you like an old basic unspoiled pub, then this could be for you. Full of locals and their dogs, with a huge woodburner fire in an inglenook. Plain but wholesome fare, with a nod to an old patron, the late actor Oliver Reed, who once climbed up the open chimney to esconce himself in the hidden priest hole.

Wonderful pub! This is genuinely the friendliest pub I’ve ever been in. As soon as we walked in we felt welcome and as if we were old friends. Lovely landlords and a lovely, friendly atmosphere. Can’t recommend it enough.

Welcoming landlord, well kept Ringwood Razor Back, characterful interior with low beams and has a beer garden at the side. Food a bit disappointing and pricey.

We have been visiting this pub for years but not recentlyGiven the usual home-made food and good beer we came for a necessarily quick lunchWe were told after 10 mins that it would be another 10-15 minute as they were doing a fresh lot of roast potatoesAfter 35 minutes a mediocre meal appeared and if the potatoes were freshI'd like to see the restThe meals were adequate but not for the time taken and there were only 4 other meals before us

After a friendly welcome...we ordered drinks and food. The food was lovely - hot and fresh...perfect. It's not cheap...but you get good quality food for your money. The wooden beams can be low...so mind your head. :)

Don't go!! Arrived 6.30p.m OPENING TIME place in complete darkness. Thought it was closed but we had wait for our friends to arrive. Then the pub landlady arrived at 6.50p.m running from the car park. We then followed her into the main bar where the wonderful log fire "as advertised" had gone out. As the pub was so cold rather than order drinks we suggested that it would be best to re-light the fire as this was the only form of heating. It appeared that everything was too much trouble. The beer and food is best not to say anything about it. The two steaks ordered were not edible and were sent back. The evening did not improve and we could not wait to leave.

To start tempora prawns and chicken liver pate. Both were freshly prepared and plentiful. We chose Roast beef to follow and we were very pleased when it at arrived to see lots of perfectly cooked beef, a huge crispy Yorkshire pudding ,five beautifully cooked vegetables and crunchy roast potatoes. Not to mention lots of gravy. We took a break before ordering banana soufflé light as a feather and lush for my husband and deconstructed winter berry crumble with baked custard.. heavenly. The service was attentive but not intrusive.I have never written a review before but the meal was soon good I just had to.

If I had been eating here 30 years ago, this would have been considered an early gastropub. It certainly makes a big deal of where the meat is sourced from, but the world has moved on, particularly when restaurants like Cote are 15 minutes away in Dorking.I only had a main course, steak. It was £20, but it was not good value. I ordered medium rare, and got medium, but I'm not going to waste the meat and send it back.Irrespective of that, the meat was slightly tough and chewy, and for a £20 steak, that is just not good enough anymore. Cote will do a great steak on a specialearly bird menu for £12, and it cuts like butter, and is seasoned perfectly, when this one wasn't seasoned at all. It's not the only pub around Surrey that I've eaten in offering the same kind of food. The reality is that it's perfectly okay, but because the world has moved on, it's not very good value for money anymore.Lastly our waitress was grumpy, and had to be reminded on more than one occasion for our drinks order, and extra ice.Without wanting to damn this with faint praise, it's perfectly okay, but nothing more.

I had the sausage pie off the specials board and really enjoyed it. The chips and presentation of the food let it down a bit. It looked l like canteen food, which was a real shame as the pie was excellent. My drink was crisp and nicely kept as well. Staff were friendly and we had fun playing bar billiards after dinner. It was a bit quiet but we had a good night and would recommend it. Good value too.

This is smallish pub with about eight tables, some more comfortable to eat at than others, and bags of character (read low ceilings and brass tat). There's also a small garden. Food was simple but very good and well executed. Which is how pub food should be.

Always a hearty meal and always prepared to make me vegetarian gravy unlike other more expensive, more well-known venues.Extremely good value for money and house red excellent.

We were booked in for a birthday tea specially, even though they weren't doing teas that week. When we arrived a lovely big table with white tablecloth and napkins was ready for us. We were offered coffee and tea, which came promptly, followed by a plate of hot snacks and a cake stand containing a mouth-watering selection, including egg mayonnaise, coronation chicken and cheese and ham sandwiches. The bread was beautifully soft, with the crusts cut off. In addition were warm scones with jam and clotted cream, topped off by a selection of mini cakes. We were so full we had to take the cakes home! Thank you to Penny, who took such good care of us, and the other members of staff who made us feel very special.

We went for 'Breakfast with Santa." It was absolutely perfect. We had told the staff that we were unsure of how our 2 year old granddaughter might respond to Santa. The pub was decorated beautifully and they found us a table where she could observe from a distance. They provided us with little Christmas craft activities whilst we waited for our breakfasts. When our granddaughter felt brave enough to approach Santa, he was brilliant with her! He took her cues and met her exactly where she needed to be. We can't speak highly enough of the warmth, helpfulness and efficiency of the staff. This is a true family pub and we couldn't have wished for a better place for our granddaughter's first meeting with Father Christmas. Thank you, The Woodman and merry Christmas!
