I can honestly say that, after our recent visit, Cow & Sow became our favourite steakhouse in Bristol. Food was amazing, from delicious starters (Miso & chilli jam glazed Hispi cabbage is out of this world!) to juicy and tender beef fillet and delicious desserts to finish off our anniversary meal. What needs to be mentioned is an amazing service throughout our whole dinner, from waiting ladies to the bartender that made me the best mango margarita I’ve ever had. Jess, Evie and Gio thank you so much for making our anniversary evening so special! We will be back and recommend Cow & Sow to everyone!

We went for our 22nd Wedding Anniversary and the team made us feel special all evening. Food was stunning and the atmosphere was just fab too. Would highly recommend.

The recommendations were accurate and the friendly staff served us very well, so we had a great time. I chose it for my friend's last dinner who was visiting from Japan, and it was a great choice. Both the alcohol and food were good. I chose it because it had high reviews on Google, and I'm satisfied with it. Recommended. I have a soba allergy and am worried about eating out, but they took good care of me and I was able to enjoy my meal with peace of mind. Super friendly and kind staff. great wines and foods. they also handled about my allergy very kindly. I spent really good time with my friend. Thank you.

The women's bathroom literally next to the kitchen had 30 flies in it (dead and alive), kinda concerning the fact it's basically in the kitchen. The food took 90 minutes to come out, and we weren't exactly impressed. Just kinda tastes of normal steak, nothing special, and the portions were small and all different sizes. I had three small slices of steak, and then my partner have 4 bigger slices, he had essentially double my meal.

We stopped for a bite of lunch and loved our visit. Gio and Tom looked after us very well and our food (the sharing platter) was delicious. Would highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back! They also donate £1 for every review to charity which is a terrific idea.

Enjoyable evening, food and service was excellent.

Went on a Friday night 50 min train with the fiance, slow service then we sat down had menue explained to us only to be told the Chateaubriand was out of stock and the burger wasn't available, left me with choice of the £32 fillet as I which came out tiny and after 40 minutes of waiting, we then had to get someone's attention again for another drink! All in all a wasted journey night was ruined and we went straight back home on the train as it was close to the last one due to how long we spent waiting in the restaurant. Shame as we were really looking forward to eat here.

Went here for lunch. Absolutely superb. I love food and so can be hard to please at times, but this was a brilliant lunch. Food was delicious, and all came hot. Service was too notch and friendly too Thoroughly recommend

First time visiting, and was very impressed. Sunday roasts looked fabulous but we chose steak (love that you can choose your cut from the fridge) which was beautifully cooked. We also had the sharing starter which was perfect to try a lot of the small plates (the chorizo in particular was lovely) They were very busy so recommend booking, but all staff were working hard and very welcoming. Bec served us and was attentive, knowledgeable and smiley. I popped in the booking notes that it was our wedding anniversary and the welcome with a glass of fizz was unexpected and the cherry on top of a great meal. Thank you - we will be back :-)

A truly special afternoon. Greetings from a lovely server named asa who was a magician on the cocktails. Jamie was extremely pleasant, placing a bottle of fizz on the table upon prior request as we were celebrating my partners birthday. Alongside Odhran and Evie who were fast and attentive. Now the food was exceptional; credit to chef Harun, Jordan and Vinnie. Explained the intricacies and pairings of wine with our steaks. Plus a beautiful birthday dessert. Couldn’t recommend the restaurant more!!

Fantastic steak, pleasant staff and excellent service. A lovely evening meal. Only downside was the rear seating has a loud extractor above it but we asked to sit there and staff warned us about it first.

Went for a 90th birthday with a party of 8. Excellently looked after by Bex, who had the patience of a saint. Food was good and the small plates suited the smaller appetites

First visit to Cow & Sow in Clifton yesterday and I was really impressed - particularly with the great service from all the staff we encountered. Extra bonus was 15% off our food bill when we presented our cinema ticket for the Everyman. We didn’t realise until we mentioned we were going to the cinema later in the evening to our waitress and she told us about the discount. The icing on the cake to a very pleasant evening!

Really enjoyed our dinner here: the sharing platter to start gives a nice selection. We had the chateaubriand steak to share for main course. It was cooked beautifully and the sides/sauces were lovely. Service was excellent. Highly recommend!

I visited with my partner before going to the cinema, and I think I can say it is probably the best experience I have ever in a restaurant. The service from Evie, Tom, and Harun was exceptional, the atmosphere was perfect and the food was to die for. I know this will be a regular visit before our future cinema visits. Thank you all very much, it made up for the film being rubbish.

Amazing meal as always. The tomahawk was amazing, and the Mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes, and even the burger. Lily and Rob were super helpful, great service.

Lovely spot, lovely menu, excellent service. Just way too much salt, the steak was over salted, the sauces were over salted. Judging by the other reviews we perhaps got unlucky, but everything was just so salty.

Amazing Sunday roast! Was hot day but restaurant was lovely and cool. Nice breeze through the back door. Service was perfect, staff very friendly and helpful. I had ‘the cure’ 3 meats roast and really enjoyed it. Although this isn’t a cheap roast it’s worth the money. Definitely return

Great place with great food. I had the set menu for £22. The starter and desert were amazing but the main was a little too small for my liking. The streak however was perfectly cooked. The 'black ends' starter was also amazing. Would come here again. Best place I ate in Bristol.

We came in and made a last minute booking, they were more than accommodating. The food was great, the service was exceptional. Our servers were Lily, Sam and Gio who were lovely, attentive and had good food recommendations. Sam kindly let us know it was Wine club and that we would have half price (we love this). All in all a really nice night, would recommend and will be coming again :)

Absolutely smashed it - the person serving (Lily, I think) did an outstanding job, recommending a truly wonderful bottle of wine (in fact it was so good and she upsold me so well, I bought a bottle to take back to my air bnb and drink!). Absolutely loved our time at the Cow and Sow from start to finish. The retsaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, the staff are attentive and respectful. Our meal was the best I have had for a long time and would say better than pasture your nearest rivals. Well done don’t change a thing

My mum and I had the sharing chateaubriand - perfect Medium Rare for us 😚. My family all enjoyed their meals too! I definitely recommend coming here at least once. Went for daughters graduation at lunchtime on a Friday, which is why it was probably quiet (so 3 stars for atmosphere/ fair). However the service, food & venue were all excellent! Lots of knowledge about different cuts of meat, delicious food, special thoughtfulness regarding our personal celebration. Would absolutely return and expect it’s ‘buzzy’ in the evenings. Very pleased to have found this restaurant!

Steak good, but accompanying dishes served lukewarm. Replacements arrived still lukewarm! Pity.

Great Sunday Great service. Firstly I had managed to book the wrong day, the were very accommodating and found us a table anyway. The service was spot on not in your face but there when wanted. The Sunday roasts were delicious. We will return.
