Excellent way to treat my Mum and stepdad on Mothers Day as they love going to places they haven’t tried before. Food was amazing lots of it and very tasty, welcome fizz also went down a treat as did the wine !!! . No room for desert as we were all so stuffed from the starters and roast. Service is always spot on from the team from start to finish. Such a lush place to go night or day. Thank you very much and you have 2 new customers as my parents will be back x

Our first time visiting and wow what an experience!! The food was incredible, we highly recommend the sharing platter as a starter! We have been to lots of places and the way the sauces complimented the food was delicious! The only small downside was my fillet did have fat running through it which I personally don’t like but everything else was spot on perfect! The desserts are to die for & the cocktails are delicious. Thank you to our lovely server Bec’s she was so friendly & chatty, a real asset to your company. We look forward to coming back!

Dropped by for a walk-in as had seen good reviews. Nice ambience, food wasn't great: Grilled lettuce oversalted, sirloin was tough at medium rare. Not an issue with cooking, just might not have been the best source nit of meat. Service on the whole friendly,although when I gave an honest response at the end to 'how was everything?' it got implied I should have ordered the sirloin medium. If its good it should absolutely work at medium rare.

We had a great time at the Cow & Sow after winning a competition for a free meal. The food was delicious but the service was even better. Jamie and Estelle looked after us and were so attentive and kind - particularly with our two year old - and it made the experience even more special. The hispi cabbage side and bone marrow starter were really standout. Would highly recommend.

I dined at the Clifton restaurant on 21st March for lunch. It was my birthday treat to myself. Busy but not noisy. Greeted and escorted to my table. Staff very attentive, helping with my choices. Menu is not too fussy which is great,l. My Ribeye steak was perfectly cooked and the dauphinois potatoes yummy. The apple tart tatin was delicious. Will definitely return for a 3rd visit. Well done to the chefs as well.

Give it a go for dinner .. had the pork tomahawk .. very fatty .. hassleback pots and slaw .. mac and cheese Didn’t enjoy the slaw / hassleback potatoes were ok / mac and cheese pretty tasteless and quite dry .. Overall not the best / staff were fine . Also had to wait a good 40 mins for food !! Probs be our last visit to cow and sow ..

My fiancé and I wanted to try new restaurant for date night and was recommended the cow and sow. By far the best steak we’ve ever had! I went for the flat iron steak and my fiancé went for the ribeye. Beautifully cooked and full of flavour. Services was amazing! I believe we were served by a Lily and Marta, both fanastic and even told us about their Sunday roasts! We will defiantly be back again soon with friends and family

Average for nearly £600 dinner …….For a steak place and the value of the food I can tell ,they can do better. Tomahawk instead Medium rare came rare/blue . Cocktails were average, water we had to ask 2-3 time’s . Bone Marrow was very smelly and really strong taste compared to other places. Poached pear was more likely NO POACHED , was really hard to cut and tasteless. If I have to be honest service was good ,staff were polite and the girl had the knowledge about the menu.,but no thank you again.

It's been on my list of places to go to since we moved to Bristol a few years ago, but we never came round to it, until this February. We visitied on a Sunday for a family celebration, and liked it so much that we wentagain within a week and a half when we did not have dinner ready and needed a mid week pick me up. The food is delicious, the Sunday roast portions which the rest of the family opted for were very good with plenty of sides, and the fillet steak I had was fantastic. On our second visit we had the steak to share, and again we loved it. The staff is very nice and attentive, the menu is vast but not overwhelming and everything is prepared with a great care. The pork belly bites starter works so well with the grilled pineapple one - it's absolutely worth ordering two of these together. The hispi cabbage is a gem, I would return just for that. The steak was cooked perfectly on both occasions. I think our server on our second visit was Evie? who was very helpful, and moved us to a quiter section of the restaurant when requested with no problems. The music can be a bit too loud at times,but it's the only minor issue I could find.

Food was incredible steak literally melted in my mouth and the hasselback potatoes with garlic and paprika were cooked to perfection - crispy on outside and soft on the inside. It was well priced for the quality and my partner said the cocktails were lush. £110 for 2 people including cocktails, great quality steak, 2 sides and a shared starter. Our server Jess was extremely personable and professional. Thank you for making our visit special on my birthday and we look forward to returning.

Melt in the mouth beef , great starters and really good service , well done to chefs and service was really really good especially thanks to little blond waitress, dont know her name but was so friendly and attentive but not overly, took attention to one of our guest who was not very well superbly definitely recommended

We had dinner here on Saturday night, and overall, the experience was just okay. Our booking was for 7:15, but our food didn’t arrive until 8:45. While we were informed that the sharing steak would take 45 minutes, waiting an hour and a half with no updates from the staff felt excessive. We ordered the 600g Chateaubriand, which, despite being tender, was dry, flavourless, and overcooked. The fillet steak was requested medium well but arrived medium rare—almost rare. The side dishes were decent but nothing memorable. For dessert, we ordered the Apple Tarte Tatin, which unfortunately was the biggest letdown of the night. Instead of the delicate, caramelised dish we expected, we received half an apple on pastry with an overly bitter sauce. It was so tough that we had to request a knife and fork to cut through it. Overall, it was an okay experience, but ultimately a bit disappointing.

My friends and I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The food was exceptional, and the staff made us feel right at home with their warmth and friendliness. The Sunday roast dishes were perfectly cooked and outstanding also bursting with flavour. We had a range of starters and the selection was delicious. The BBQ pork ribs, were irresistibly tender and rich in flavor. We arrived 15 minutes early and the staff were very flexible with my booking. Overall, this is an outstanding place to eat. O my what a wonderful early evening meal. I had the most delightful male waiter with brown wavy hair. He so polite and made sure I was comfortable as I waited for my son to arrive. The food was quick and perfectly cooked. The half price wine offer on a Monday is a must, I had 2 nojottos’s as I am choosing not to drink, they were perfectly blended and so flavoursome. My son and I were extremely impressed, we definitely recommend.

Great location next to the railway station, and a great atmosphere - decor, music and lighting was just right. The staff (Estelle & Asa) were very friendly and helpful. Me and my misses ordered two starters, two flat iron steaks and three sides between us. That was more than enough food for us as they were generous portions. And every bit of what we ordered was delicious, and perfectly cooked. We found it a more enjoyable experience and better food than we’ve had in other restaurants in Bristol that cost maybe twice as much as our meal did in Cow & Sow.

Came in for lunch, food was fantastic (flat iron steaks, pork belly, chips were especially good) and they had a nice lunch menu that let us taste the best offerings but with smaller lunch portions. Service was a bit slow which was the only drawback, took us 2.5 hours from sitting to paying with appetizer, mains & 2 deserts in between. Overall we'd definitely come again!

I had a great dining experience at this restaurant. The food is excellent, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The steak, especially the sirloin, was amazing—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The fillet portion was a bit small, but the taste made up for it. Me and my partner arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation and were seated immediately on a very very nice spot in a nook right next to a window. We were given time to go over the drinks menu while they grabbed us some water and were speedy at getting us our drinks and taking our food order. My partner got the sirloin medium rare and it was cooked perfect, I got the ribeye rare and was also cooked just to my taste. I would say if you want a less fatty cut to avoid the ribeye. Highly recommend the sticky pork belly and the burnt ends. The chips with beef dripping were sensational! The waiter we had was pleasant and friendly, was extremely satisfied with the experience.

My partner and I went to Cow and Sow for dinner and we were not disappointed! We had already visited the Queen Square location and very much enjoyed it. I would say the only major difference between both locations is that the floor of the Whiteladies one is a bit more spacious, therefore you can have a bit more privacy. The ambiance is very nice for a date. We ordered both starters as well as a steak to share (which comes with a couple of sides) and a bottle of wine. For the amount and quality of the food, the price is reasonable. The burnt ends starter was incredible, the meat was tender and melted in the mouth. I just wished the serving came with more sauce. The steak to share was delicious and worth the half an hour wait. The portion is definitively enough for two! As you can see in the pictures attached, the sides were very good and accompanied the meat well. There is a wide variety of sides to choose from as well. Finally, I want to thank Anna who served us during the evening. She was very nice and attentive. The team was very welcoming in general. I would recommend it for a special occasion or if you enjoy a good steak!

The first time I visited this restaurant (at Queen Square), I ordered a chateaubriand cooked to medium. It was an excellent steak very tasty and juicy so we decided to return. This time, we went to the Clifton branch and ordered the tomahawk to try something different. Unfortunately, we were not satisfied with the steak as it was overcooked and lacked any juices. The meat had a much tougher texture and exterior. When I raised this with the waitress, she explained that the cooking outcome depends on the cut of steak. She mentioned that tomahawk has more fat than chateaubriand, so the chef cannot cook it to the same standard. For example, ordering chateaubriand at medium will result in a medium-rare steak, but ordering tomahawk at medium will result in a drier steak. I don’t think this explanation is reasonable. Customers should receive the steak cooked to the level they ordered, without needing prior knowledge about how different cuts should be cooked. A well-prepared steak should meet the requested level of doneness, regardless of the cut. Driving to Bournemouth for dinner at your restaurant last time felt disappointing and not worth the trip.

We were there for my sons 21st Birthday meal. The food was excellent, the welcome from Gio was great, but i have to say our waitress was not well received. She seemed she didn't want to be there when taking our booking and then she was heard by a member of our party, who was going to the toilet, that she was speaking to a colleague saying "I've had enough of this place!" I must say, it showed in her approach to taking our order and her manner. We spent £690, the meal was good as i said, it was a little cold where we were sat with the door open and closing, but that's not really your fault, but our waitress did kind of ruin the occasion by seemingly not wanting to be there. There was gratuity included on our bill (£61) , which I should have taken out, but i didn't want the kitchen or the other staff who were accommodating, to miss out on their efforts. The Tomahawk pork was the best hes had, was the opinion of my old fella. A restaurant such as this with a high google rating, really need to ensure they employ the right people and not allow their staff to ruin the diners experience or the special occasion.

This was our first visit, but it won't be our last. The food was exceptionally prepared and tasted sublime, the best ribeye steak by far, the sides were just as good. The hosts were absolutely amazing,very polite and informative ( Gio and Jamie ) In all a very great experience (Looking forward to sampling their Sunday Roast)

We had the most fabulous lunch at pasture and our waiter Glen was amazing, he was so enthusiastic and advised us with wine and menu choices. The food was absolutely delicious, steak perfectly cooked with great sauces. The beef croquettes a must so were the padron peppers, the best we’ve had!

Mugshot offers a different experience of cooking the steak yourself. (You can also have the steak cooked for you). We opted for cooking it ourselves as we thought that was the point of the restaurant. The servers were lovely and explained everything clearly as there is a process. The steak was great quality unfortunately didn’t have much flavour. The butters you choose definitely gave it a bit of what it was missing. The chips were amazing and so were the side of peas we ordered. As for the actual cooking of it yourself it was definitely a fun experience which myself and my wife enjoyed. The only ‘problem’ is when you’re hungry, cutting the stake, seasoning the hot stone, waiting for the stake to cook and rest is a bit of a faffy process especially when you have to do it several times. The other ‘issue’ we faced was the stone getting cool and the server having to replace it. (Which we were warned about). I think overall it is definitely niche and worth a visit if it could be your type of thing and I’m glad we went. I think if we went again in the future I’d have it cooked for me and hopefully negate most of our ‘problems’. I still give 4* as the serves were amazing and so was most of the food. The ‘issues’ we encountered weren’t ideal but we were forewarned so it didn’t come as a surprise.

Amazing service from Hannah and Kayla. Very prompt with taking our order and great recommendations! Luke the assistant manager was very knowledgeable about what wines would suit our pallet and came through with the perfect bottle of red! Thank you so much! The kitchen staff perfected and defined every single dish with passion, flavour and presentation. We Will be back again with out hesitation! If I could give you 10 stars I would! Great team! Xx

Un pequeño y auténtico restaurante griego. El entusiasmo del propietario era un poco fuera de lugar y un poco intrusivo. La comida estaba bien, pero un poco grasienta para mi gusto y la carta de vinos es exclusivamente griego, lo que añade a la autenticidad, pero habría apreciado más opciones. Como nuevo visitante a Bristol en un fin de semana largo, los otros 2 restaurantes que visité fueron más de mi agrado.
