Our experience of Pasture Bristol was exceptional! Not from the area, I was shocked that I had to book so far in advance for a table, but the experience was fantastic. We walked in on a Wednesday in November, and the entire restaurant was packed, this was wonderful to see. We were well looked after, and were helped with a presentation of the available Steaks. The restaurant was incredibly clean, plenty of staff so you’re well looked after, the food was incredibly tasty, and I would recommend and plan to visit again.

Great service & atmosphere & remembered our anniversary! Nice touch, steak was outstanding, recommend & will go back.

UPDATED REVIEW: Went for dinner on Friday night with my family and it was a bit "hit and miss" tbh. Most of us had an excellent meal, but my daughter and son both had very fatty steaks with very little meat. I know this can't always be helped, but bearing in mind that this is a place serving, ostensibly, Steak, this was disappointing. We did mention it to our waiter who was apologetic, but nothing was done about it and it did sour our experience. Especially when you're paying well over £400. Overall, the service was very good, but I just felt a little bit like they weren't bothered about our experience.

Good steak and chips in a variety of forms, some very expensive, with vegetarian options for those who are so inclined. Everything on the menu that our party sampled was very good quality, nicely cooked and served. I'd probably not choose to go again, it's not a particularly convivial atmosphere, though the views of St Mary Redcliffe are beautiful. My starter, Char Siu Pork Belly, was one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten!

I didn't have a chance to eat there, just had a cup of coffee. However, the strongest smell of air freshener was so annoying... Was happy to go out as soon as possible

Excellent and accommodating staff. We had a nightmare arriving late and they were very accommodating, despite the time pushing us past last orders. We celebrated our anniversary and received surprise decorated desserts for the occasion which was a lovely touch. I don’t think we could have had a nicer time, and will 100% be recommending pasture to our friends in the future

A very polite gentlemen Gavin suggested we visit this restaurant and we were not disappointed. We had an amazing time as a group of 7pp. We had an excellent waiter Dean, who was very attentive and most importantly exceptional food! We left the restaurant very happy and full. :))

We had an amazing lunch yesterday and as always were so impressed with the quality of the service and the food. We had the short rib croquettes which were absolutely delicious, followed by chateaubriand to share, with delicious peppercorn sauce and garlic butter. The sides, chips, macaroni cheese and spinach gratin were amazing. I also managed to find space for a lovely sticky toffee pudding. I would like to say a special thank you to our server who was so friendly and helpful. Such a lovely lunch. Thank you to all of the team.

Come for a company dinner, the place offers the possibility of tables separated from the main room for more privacy. Unattractive quality/quantity/price ratio but good choice of cuts of meat.

First class service and a great menu

Made a reservation here after good recommendations from some work colleagues. I have had a history of disappointment from steakhouses claiming to be good only to find we have been able to cook better at home... but this place is the real deal. The tomahawk steaks were cooked to perfection and we could not find a single fault. Any self proclaimed steak lover needs to eat here. We will be back!

Go here for the meat obvs, but the burnt cabbage dish (with bacon butter) was unreal. Never had anything like it before.

Sunday lunch, Adam our server was great and did so much for us and knows by far lots of knowledge about the drinks off the top of his head even down to each larger or where something off the menu is from which is always nice to hear, he's definitely an asset to your overall team, patient and definitely introduced us all very well so credit to him as he knows what he's doing. An honest review of the food, We came for a Sunday lunch, all meats cooked perfectly which is great to see. If I had a few niggles, Roast potatoes were nice but all agreed could be more crispy and seasoned up a little more flavour packed on them. Gravy & yorkie was great and tasty. If I had to be really picky the veg however some rock hard large tender stem broccoli stalks and some very small over cooked maybe a little more attention to how the green veggies are prepped/cooked could be taken into consideration so it all cooks nice and evenly, but again this is only constructive feedback . Red cabbage was great and tasted lovely. Brussels spouts were lovely and charred but after a couple of mouthfuls we definitely seemed to be left with a funny unique afterflavour that we couldn't quite seem to pair well or enjoy with our roast, again only our opinion. Desserts were all fantastic. Ambience great. Good service timing. Rest of the staff were lovely too. Sourdough bread was top stuff with that nice salty butter.

I have allergies and the staff were super knowledgeable and professional. Excellent service. Would recommend.

Amazing Roast, totally worth they wait

One of the best restaurants in the UK in my opinion. The steak is some of the very best I have eaten anywhere in the world, the atmosphere is lively and buoyant and the service is fault free. Its not cheap, but you get what you pay for. This was my third visit and I have thoroughly enjoyed each one! Highly recommended.

Our favourite steak restaurant in Bristol! Guaranteed amazing food & service every time! We had a Sunday Roast on this occasion and it definitely didn’t disappoint! Would also highly recommend their Salted Caramel Espresso Martini!

Really stunning evening enjoyed by myself and our small party. The staff were so attentive, friendly and authentic. No pretentiousness here, just really solid service and food that speaks for itself. Our server Sophie was a star, really helpful in explaining all the cuts and helping us pick out a great selection with personal favourites. The sprouts and carrots were the unexpected delights, but every dish was a standout.

I think it’s nice, but I am not sure about if it’s as nice as reported. My steak could have been salted more. Chips were nice and so was the wine

This restaurant is the best! Everything from service to food to atmosphere to location is just 100% We were served by Flyn. He was super accommodating but to be honest all the staff were lovely . We had allergies and so some dishes were changed to accommodate us . Just wow, wow!!!!!. The food was so tasty and flavoursome.

The food was very good. Had a Porterhouse steak, 1.2k plenty big enough for three of us. Sides were good. Service/staff was excellent. Only downside was the noise level. As a hard of hearing person it’s hard enough in public spaces, but as well as the restaurant being very busy, in the centre there is a large open area between the restaurant on the top floor and bar/eating area on the bottom floor. Even my perfect hearing daughter and husband found the noise somewhat overwhelming. Just bad design which mad communication impossible for me. Clearly a very busy and popular restaurant, so presume the noise doesn’t bother most.

There's a reason there's a massive wait list for this place - we've been a few times, and every time has been faultless

November 2024: still best steaks in Bristol! If you like well hung, beautifully cooked and presented beef, this is the place for you. Probably the best Ribeye steak I've ever had. Happy diners everywhere. Large former warehouse gives a certain down to eath feel which is comfortable and welcoming. Excellent.

If you like beef this is the place to go. A beef focused menu and a great selection. The service was very good, the food was very good. As an observation because of the history of the building the acoustics in the upstairs eating area makes it seem noisy. overall a great experience.

This is one of the best restaurants in Bristol. I'll definitely be coming back here again. The customer service was amazing and is personalised. The atmosphere is tasteful. The food was delicious, filling and reasonably priced.

I had the porterhouse steak with peppercorn and chimichurri sauce, truffle fries, and fried broccoli. It was all fantastic and I particularly reccomended the fried broccoli. I was given a complimentary starter while I waited for my main and a complimentary desert after. The service was fantastic and the pasture, Bristol has a great atmosphere.

Only popped in for some assistance after my daughter fell and cut her lip and they were fantastic and so helpful. Thanks to them she won't have a right corker of a swollen lip on our holiday. Will definitely be back for food one day soon.

The place to go for the best steak

Superb food with a great selection of drinks to compliment the dishes. The Pasture use local produce and if you're not familiar with all of the cuts of meat they will bring out on a board for you to choose which steak choice you would prefer. Fine steak with sides created to perfection. The steak tartar starter came on a wooden plinth with a glass dome which encased the tarlet with smoke. The recipient was stunned into silence. He commented that it was the best thing he had ever eaten. Would most definitely recommend. 100% Second visit as visiting Bristol again. Can not fault. All of the staff are very knowledgeable whether it's wine pairing, which sides would compliment the main dish (if required, they do not stand over you) I personally feel that there would never be a complaint about anything at all at Bristol, The Pasture. They also have a private room which we haven't tried yet. Still best place I have eaten steak to such perfection. Sublime desserts to die for. 👌

Gorgeous, gorgeous place! Great yet simple selection of stakes. I loved their garlic butter, it’s a small thing but adds plenty of flavour which I appreciate cuz I wanted the stake to be the main star and it definitely was. Being honest when my portion arrived I was a bit nervous because it looked smaller than I expected, but I got so full and I usually eat fairly normal meals, like there’s nothing more annoying than leaving restaurant hungry…but here your all good and safe! I was also visiting Bristol myself and got lovely service (I know some places are not so welcoming when it’s just one person) + few tips of what to see in Bristol. Would 100% recommend, If I’m back in Bristol, I’ll be back in Pasture as well.

Visited this evening which was a busy Saturday evening but the service remained amazing from all staff. Elysia was our server and she went above and beyond for us, nothing was too much hassle. She was so friendly, had a lovely conversation which is refreshing nowadays! The food was excellent, well worth the price!

Just spent a wonderful evening here to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. Chateaubriand was sublime, and the staff were so knowledgable and kind to us. Can’t wait to find an excuse to go back!

Best dinner I had this year, steak Is fabulous will never regret have one, sauce are great and sides are also great, I'm amazed by starters especially the fried squid 🦑 service was unbelievable sweet and kind, elegant manners and careful contact made me feel like home. The cocktails Is better than most of the bar in Bristol highly recommend.

Had the most wonderful time today at Pastures for lunch, the food was incredible, the atmosphere was fantastic and all the staff were really friendly and welcoming. Big shoutout to Miriam who looked after us so well and was so kind! 100% recommend and will be returning again and again!

My only criticism was the toilets were pretty scruffy and hadn’t been cleaned - could also do with a toilet on the first floor as well as the ground floor. Otherwise brilliant staff. Really innovative delicious cocktails and the food was spectacular - great vibe. Went at 5pm on a Saturday and it was packed. Great atmosphere. Nice crowd. Carpaccio and crab starters and cote de boeuf - stupendous. best cocktails were Long Island old fashioned and the shaky Pete

Pasture is THE venue for a premium and luxury meal, best steaks I've eaten only matched by the level of service that you get, all the staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful! I'd recommend it every time

We went there last night and had the best dining experience we had for a long time. The food was full of flavours and tasty, my rump steak was perfectly done and the staff was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the food and wine. Will definitely go there again when we are back in Bristol.

What a place! The service was exceptional. Otto, our server, demonstrated what real customer service should be, a true master of his trade. We mentioned it was our first time there, and he took the time to explain the menu, the different cuts of meat and his recommendations. I would describe this place as casual fine dining, down to the attention the staff pay to customers. Even on a Monday evening, it was busy with a nice atmosphere. The food was, hands down the best and they make an excellent cocktail too. We left extremely happy, full and very satisfied with the price of the meal and drinks. The first thing I did when I left, was call a fellow steak-loving friend to recommend it. Thanks to all!

Me and my partner came for our anniversary and our server Alex was nothing short of amazing - he was so lovely, so helpful and made for a very stress free evening! We wish him the best :)

Been a few times now, food and service were faultless. Stunning!

A friend and I visited, we only wanted a drink and were told that was fine, we were told to sit down and someone would come to take our order.It was quiet and there were hardly any other customers. So we sat down and waited and waited and waited and we were totally ignored so after 15 minutes left.

Good service but I find all dishes have far too much salt, oil and flavourings. This was my third visit here. This time, a Friday lunchtime, was fully booked but we could sit in the bar area and order from the bar menu. The waiter was great and helped make sure that I didn't over order. I had crab and a separate dish of sugar snaps and ate some of my friends' chips. The sugar snaps were so over-salted I struggled to eat them. The crab, while nice, wasn't plain and was too highly flavoured. That came with a brioche, which had various fancy butters and oils on it but was too flavoured and oily for me to eat. When I've been in the past, the steak is amazing as you would expect (if aslo covered insalt), but everything else, from mushrooms to jacket potatoes, are covered with salt, oil and either butter, cream or cheese - or sometimes all of the above. I'm used to cooking food that is much plainer, so find that I often feel quite ill following all of this. The basic steak would be wonderful but I would need an option to have everything else much plainer in order to return.

Another great meal as always. Our server Alice was fab, very friendly and attentive. Each time we come the service is great and such a lovely atmosphere. One of our favourite places to celebrate occasions, we will be back ☺️

Great ambiance and service - they go over and above! Great place for special occasions and delicious food! Not cheap but worth it. Tables in the middle tend to get loud. Utterly delicious max and cheese, croquettes and cocktails too.

My first Sunday roast in England and it did not disappoint. It was a walk in, and I was lucky to have had a table availed to me. The caramel expresso martini is to die for; had two. The steak was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside with a smoky taste delicious taste. The service amazing, everyone is attentive and ready to assist….definitely going again and I highly recommend🥂

Well worth a visit, food was excellent. Steaks cooked just as we asked, and sides and starters full of flavour. Real positive buzz in the restaurant. It's got that special something that makes it a fantastic destination place to go to.

Fantastic Food. The only let down was when I asked for a bottle of wine that was almost one of their most expensive and the waitress told me she would have to ask her superior if that was ok. She told me it was fine but brought me a different cheaper bottle. I couldnt be bothered to make a fuss. Maybe it was my thick bristolian accent but snobbish comes to mind. Will never set foot in here again.

Steak anywhere else will never be the same

My husband booked this 2 months ago as a birthday treat. I can see why you have to book well in advance as service was extremely good, served by Max, what a lovely person. He gave us a couple of recommendations and what a great choice. Croquettes were delicious. Chateaubriand was exceptional and seasoned well, seasonal greens very nice, beef fat chips, tasty. Sourdough bread very nice and fresh. Chocolate dome, delicious. Couple of drinks. Thank you for my little birthday ice cream with candle on birthday plate. Definitely recommend

From the moment we walked in, everything was flawless. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, and the service was impeccable. The food exceeded our expectations – we had the Sunday sharing roast with the Chateaubriand, and it was hands down the best roast we’ve ever had. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely be making the trip back to Bristol just to enjoy it again!

It was our first time at pasture in Bristol and we had an incredible Sunday roast! We were so impressed with all the staff who talked us through the menu and how it all worked and even explained to us what was in the famous short rib croquettes which we had as a starter. We ordered the fillet steak for our roast experience and the steak was cooked to perfection, the cauliflower cheese was out of this world the best we’ve ever tasted, it was all amazing. Special mention to the staff for giving the best service, you can see why Sundays are booked months in advance so worth the wait, we will definitely be booking again!
