Just had a lush Sunday dinner service and staff were super I was impressed with their lovely Sunday dinner 2 for £12.49 choice of beef or turkey and both tasty and tender will definitely come back again

There was a minor issue with our order and the staff were very apologetic and brought us free extras to make it right (unnecessary as it was totally fine but still very appreciated by our hungry table!) we love it as our local and will be back again soon!

We wanted somewhere family friendly to bring our son to watch the Euros. We looked at a few different options, but after seeing the way the pub was decorated and the videos on social media, our son decided The Wackum had to be the place. It did not disappoint! Laura, Damian and all of the staff were so welcoming and friendly and really made it special for our absolutely football crazy son. There is a dedicated family area and TV's on nearly every wall, so wherever you sit, you have a great view of the game. We have eaten there a couple of times as well. The food is typical pub grub and is great value for money. Just 1 more game to go... ....It's coming home!

Got advised to pop in to this pub by a few of my friends , due to the food cooked by a certain chef there ? Not really keen on steaks at all not much of a meat eater really , I listened to my friends Shanghai reviews on this places and it steaks Had to give it a go Chef Charlie lsit? Fully converted me and I've been back three times since Such kind lovely person , came out to check that the food was cooked to how we asked So kindly got to meet him Justin who else works there as a bartender is amazing as his job to I highly recommend this place and of you can to meet these staff members

I'm a NHS staff nurse I know Charlie very well the chef that is Hes been going on and on and on about me and the wife coming into his work for a bite to eat I've never trusted him to cook DoD me before lol But he twisted my arm I came in and he wasn't wrong about his steaks he always GOES on about Ordered a sirloin rare and med rare for the wife I'm really fussy with my steaks Why I never really came in Ever heard the saying never cheat on your Barbour? I've never cheated on my chef on his steaks ha But boiii can he cook a steak well rested full if flavour and juicy as anything Well done Charlie I'll tell all the Docs and nurses Highly recommended

I came to into this amazing family ran pub on my travles , such a brilliant atmosphere and kind staff ,i also meet one of the chefs called charlie we asked for a recomendontion for food he told us the serlion steak , as he a mean cook 🤣🤣 he stood corrected as the steaks were well rested and full of flavour i highly tell any one wanting to come here please come in you wont regret it we didnt Still thinking about the steaks now

THEEE most underrated pub in bristol. You don’t even know!

What can I say about this pub that my star rating isn't already telling you. It's a lovely little pub on a corner of a residential area, everything about it screams cosy. The staff are very welcoming and helpful and are always so polite. I've been here a few times now and every time you get the same welcome. They really like to keep the pub enjoyable for everyone so very occasionally the staff have to deal with the behaviour of a few. They are 100% not tolerant to any kind of drug taking and will swiftly remove anyone found to be in possession or using. Thus making it a very child friendly pub too. Food here is lovely,always hot and good portions. Sunday lunch is amazing for the cost(2 for £12) definitely recommend but you will need to book a table as they get booked up really quickly. Wednesday night is burger night (beef burger/chicken burger) £5 for a burger,fries and onion rings again would recomend. Not sure if they do a vegan one. If you like a night out then this pub is great too,not only is it on a bus route(stops outside) so you can drink without drink driving but they also have some fantastic live acts on a Saturday. They do quiz night and a meat raffle raising money for Macmillan on a Sunday. Altogether I have to say that all the staff are great and I love Justin's hair(go and have a look,you can't miss him lol) he changes the colour every few weeks. If you like sports then this is the place to go too as they have several screens showing the different sports on any given day. They really get involved too which is great. They have a pool table and a dart board (there is a small table under the dart board so you have to ask to use it). The pub has a outdoor area for smokers which also has a tv so you can watch sports outside. My advice to you is pop in and have a drink,this pub is not clicky like some and the regulars are always happy to chat.

Seems quite a nice pub during the week, only on street parking though. Has a pool table and sport on tv's. Service at the bar was slow and without a smile and we have to park a long walk away! I can see that many people do have a good experience here but mine was just meh, sorry!

I'm not local but this pub truly does have the 'local' friendly vibe for all who visit, you feel included. Fabulous food, such a great variety too and Damion and Laura were the perfect hosts.

The place show they are open @ 11am and they are not so I drove 30miles for no reason so I am very pissed off

In all my years I've never been here, but I'd have to say.....what a brilliant venue. The landlord Damian was really friendly and welcoming, the food was off the charts, so so good and as for the Guinness, well let's just say you can tell that Damian keeps his cellar well!! Defo going back for a revisit!! Thanks 👍🏼

It is amazing but the last time I went they were doing 1 burger for £5 every Wednesday but they didnt have like any of the customizable things like onion rings bacon or mozzarella sticks

Genuinely my favourite pub in Bristol. It's not hard to get to with bus route literally stopping outside. Great price, always got sport on. Don't have a bad thing to say. Would give it 6 stars if I could!

great local pub with lovely staff, amazing food and value for money. they have great vegan and vegetarian options and always a good atmosphere. the burgers are great, especially the quorn burger with add ons like hash browns and mozzerella sticks. all the staff are so accommodating and friendly and management is amazing. they have a good range of entertainment, sports, karaoke, pub quizzes and jukebox nights alongside live music. a great community pub and a lovely place to spend an evening !

I've started going to the Wackum Inn recently (on my own!) to watch football and rugby and it's great. A really good atmosphere and got chatting to landlords Laura and Damion this time and they're lovely. Give it a go if you're in the area and you'll like the prices too!

Lovely lunch again with my friend, we meet every month. Gammon cooked to perfection as usual, well done to the chef. Very pleased to see, don't know his name, the chap behind the bar with the coloured hair, he hasn't been there for a whi!e he does an excellent job.

Sad to be giving a bad review. Waited 45 minutes for them to bring me the wrong burger, to then be given a chicken burger when I ordered a veggie burger and by that point I was already eating it and genuinly could not be bothered to take it back for the 2nd time. Been veggie for 8 years aswell and this pub fed me a chicken. Also very greasy chips. Gordon Ramsay would not be happy with the quality of food in this place. However the staff redeemed the service and the atmosphere was bustling and lively. Good to hear people laughing and enjoying themselves none the less. If you’re a vegan or vegetarian I highly suggest to question the staff to make sure they give you the right food. I sadly won’t be recommending or coming back. I think the pub would be better off not being a chain pub and dragging their service down.

Staff are rude. Went out to the smoking area for literally 10 minutes after eating our food. Left a half full pitcher on the table which I asked one of the staff members not to clean off the table, as we weren't finished with it. Low and behold, we come back to a completely clear table. The table next to us told us that the owner had cleared the table and when the owner was asked he simply said "I don't know". We then went and spoke to the older lady on the bar whose first reaction was to get extremely defensive. She tried telling us we were out there for 45 minutes, which is funny since it snowed last night and the weather was freezing. She then started being standoffish and assumed everything we were saying was argumentative and reluctantly decided to remake our drinks, after 5 minutes of back and forth discussion and since the guy who I told not to remove our pitcher admitted that I had said this. The ridiculous thing is, we werent even mad, it was simply a miscommunication between staff memebers. If this would have been admitted by the older lady on the bar, we would have been fine, but the fact she tried to shift blame on to us by saying we should have brought her the pitcher so she could put it in the fridge and lied to our faces about how long "we" were outside, is a joke. This establishment has bog standard food and is good value for money, however, the staff must see that as a reason to be so unprofessional in how they deal with customers. Over the years I have been there and the amount of negative stories I've heard from others and experienced myself, it's clear they don't value customers and think because they offer such cheap services they can treat and act however they want. I guarantee who ever runs there google account will respond in a defensive manor because they all lack a level of maturity to actually be normal with how they respond. This review is not a deterent, I'm simply leaving a review because this is a place we decided to spend our hard earned money for us then to be treated as non valued customers and express our disappointment in how unprofessional most of the staff members are there. I can only imagine this ethos starts from the top. Edit: I'd love to hear the owners excuses for why my account of yesterday wasn't an accurate representation. Especially since you ran off and left you're bar staff to deal with us😊 Also, easy to use good reviews as a reason to dismiss our experience. Again another example of the owners lack of maturity and lack of understanding that just because you're establishment has good reviews/experiences, doesnt mean people can't have bad ones. If anything, you can see from the lower rated reviews that YOU and YOUR staff memebers have issues with treatment of customers. PS - the guy that I spoke to about clearing the table was really nice about it. He simply acknowledged the mistake. The older lady however, clearly expects there to be issues, which I imagine is why she was so defensive and was looking for an excuse to make me feel like I was being a problem. For example, telling me she wasnt going to put up with my behaviour because i looked at her in a way that she felt was confrontational. I was trying to concentrate on what she was saying due to the loud TV's/music and that resulted in my facial expression changing. From my personal experience with the owner. Over the years we have interacted I always felt you don't care when someone is unhappy with the service. On the three occassions i have visited. When i expressed my dislike for the quality of your food, you said "what do i expect. Its pub food". The second time took place during covid where you told me and my small group of friends that we have to stay outside due to covid restrictions despite us being from the same house hold but let a group of builders come in and drink at the bar. The third time was yesterday and i only came to your pub as a friend wanted to. After this experience, I hope business booms for you but I also hope you can take on the constructive criticism from customers bad experiences.

Just came back from being treated to dinner, 10 out of 10 all round , there's always a warm and friendly atmosphere no matter how busy they get, the food is always top Notch I keep meaning to take photos but I always manage to quoff my food before I get my phone out, the staff are so lovely as are the owners Damo and Laura, thanks guys for another outstanding experience

Went for lunch Saturday with my elderly friend. Food was plentiful and of a good quality. Excellent value for money. All the staff are lovely.What more could you ask for? The landlord Damion made a point of going over to chat to my friend, which she really appreciated as she doesn't get out often (being 94). Really nice place and I would recommend.

Fantastic pub! Laura and Damion run it so well, always a great atmosphere. They always go the extra mile to keep the adults and children happy. The kids parties are amazing! High recommend visiting to see for yourself! :)
