What a night! The food was incredible, atmosphere was perfect and our serve Luke truly made everything seamless. He was witty, funny and on point. 100% returning to mugshot!

Been here in Bristol for some days. I’ve gotta say that its the nicest restaurant we went to. The guy who attended us, which was named Luke, was very nice, and the chef was also a great person, he took a request about some of my food preferences. Wish I could had tipped him too. I recommend coming here. Good vibes, extremely tasty food, and a very chill place with good accommodation! 😌

Over all was good, prawns were very good choice as a starter. Don't order the carrots. Steak was nice the novelty is good but takes away from the date night as you're so focus on cooking your own steak. Service was okay bit not attentive at all and felt rushed. Especially on a quiet Wednesday night. Will return but will have my steak cooked by the chefs rather than myself.

We arrived early, and they were able to seat us. We had some drinks and waited for the rest of our party. Fantastic staff. Very engaging and fun to talk to. The waitor made a little mistake with our order. However, this was rectified so quickly, and they decided not to include it on our bill. However, the service and staff engagement was so good. We paid for the missed items in our tip and some. To say thank you for an amazing night. We will be going back.

It's like a fast food joint but with expensive steak. They give it to you pre-seared on a hot plate and you have to cook it yourself. This is apparently 'their thing'. The dining area was cold and drafty, the tables in the booths were higher than they should be, and nothing felt like it was done to a high standard. Definitely not worth the £60+ per head.

I think this is one of the best places where very good quality steaks are served. Meat was so tender, almost melting in the mouth. Honey butter with steak is must have - extra level. Very nice, cosy atmosphere. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Next time- Sunday roast🫶

Absolutely must-try steakhouse in Bristol! I’m so pleased to be arranged a cosy corner seat as I had requested a quieter spot to celebrate our anniversary. The service was absolutely fantastic, and the food was equally brilliant. We ordered the chateaubriand for the first time, and it did not disappoint! The meat was perfectly seared by the chef before being served, and the flavour was incredible. The hot stone steak experience, with different flavoured butters and dipping sauces was really great. The staff even replaced our hot stone before I had to ask, which was such a thoughtful touch. Highly recommend this place, and thank you for giving us a truly wonderful evening!

Whilst staying in Bristol, I decided to find somewhere to watch rather than the rather dire in house hotel restaurant. After checking for reviews, this eatery was the one that caught my attention. Managed to be seated straight away. After checking the menu where I could have selected multiple courses, everything looked and sounded great. The waitress (Sian) was attentive and knowledgeable, which came in useful as she demonstrated how you prepared your steak using the hot stone that the steak came with. The food was well presented. The steak was delicious and combined with the flavoured butters and sauce it was both theatrical and memorable. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a steak and is prepared to participate in the cooking.

It’s a meatiors must in Bristol. The meat was melt in your mouth outstanding, served seared and finished on hot plate style cooking, accompanied by flavoured butters and sauces. The atmosphere was understated yet inviting and the service was attentive but not intrusive. All round a lovely evening!

Had an amazing evening at Mugshot in Bristol for an early birthday dinner for my boyfriend! We went with the Chateaubriand and loved the interactive touch of cooking it ourselves on hot stones - something we've not really done before! We got to pick four butters, so went went for béarnaise, garlic, and café de Paris and two sauces, we went with wild mushroom and beef dripping. I would recommend going for the wild mushroom sauce as it was super tasty but also because you don't see it that often on menus! Highly recommend Mugshot for anyone craving a great steak night with a bit of an interactive twist.

My partner and I dined here today and went for the set lunch menu. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated promptly. We asked to switch tables and staff kindly obliged which we appreciated. The environment was comfortable, intimate and cosy. The staff were helpful in explaining the hot stone and the quantities of butter to use/how long to cook our steak for. Everything we ate was of great quality and we enjoyed taking our time with our meal. Thank you!

Once is probably enough. Visited here with a group of friends on a Friday night. The food was okay but certainly nothing remarkable and you’re very much there for the novelty of the experience of cooking on a hot stone. Once you’ve done it once and realised that it’s a terrible way to cook meat, you’re unlikely to go back. The restaurant is themed as a 1920’s speakeasy style place. Like so many midrange places, they have the usual faux cut crystal wineglasses which are far too thick and feel like you’re drinking wine from a mug. The toilets are nice however, be advised that they’re unisex with only two cubicles for the restaurant, and they’re downstairs.

Mugshot Restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with an elegant atmosphere and top-notch service. The experience of cooking your own food on the hot stone is so much fun and adds a unique touch to the meal. The menu is fantastic, with a stellar selection of starters, mains, sides, and desserts. Some of my absolute favorites include the creamy camembert, crispy pork belly bits, perfectly cooked fillet steak with two indulgent honey butters, and the rich beef dripping gravy. The triple-cooked chips are to die for, and the sorbet is a perfect light finish after the feast. I’ve visited multiple times and have never been disappointed—each meal is consistently amazing. Plus, their cocktail selection is on point. Whether you’re there for a special occasion or just a great meal, Mugshot always delivers. Highly recommend!

Trendy hot stone steak house and bar in the town centre. The aroma of delicious steak hits you as soon as you arrive. Great selection of cuts of meat and choices of cooking butters and sauces. The sides are great too especially the peas with bacon and broccoli in chilli oil. Really enjoyed the cocktails too with some great unusual choices.

Muy decepcionado con nuestra visita. Vinimos la semana pasada para un almuerzo de celebración - había mirado en restaurantes y Bristol y vi las críticas positivas así que reservé una mesa. Después de haber mirado el menú antes de nuestra visita, estaba bastante emocionado de probar la pizza 'Al Capone'. Cuando llegamos también pedimos los bocados de panza de cerdo (que eran fabulosos) y un filete para mi pareja. La pizza salió y lamentablemente no era comestible. La masa estaba mal cocida, mal preparada o simplemente no estaba hecha con todos los ingredientes. Además, goteaba absolutamente de aceite, hasta el punto de gotear del plato de servir. Honestamente tan decepcionado después de esperar esta comida específica. Tuvieron la amabilidad de quitar el dinero de la factura, pero desafortunadamente se hizo daño. We had a lunch at the restaurant, a lovely time with tasty food, perfect service and great atmosphere. Tom explained everything about the hot stone dining which we felt it was a great experience. I really liked the music and enviroment. All course came in time and we didn't feel rushed at all like few reviews mention that. Everyone liked the steaks, sides, butters and sauces, pizza was delicious too. We liked the starters but only the "bread and butter" combo was a bit underwhelming because the butters were hard but the bread was cold and dry, if the bread is warm it would be much better as it would melt on it. But it is maybe my personal preference so no fault. We will be back! Thank you.

La comida estaba bien, pero nos pareció que la carne de cerdo del vientre que teníamos para empezar era muy salado y no pudimos comerlo, también las patatas fritas que teníamos con nuestro principal estaban muy condimentado para nosotros y también no se comió, todo lo demás estaba bien, pero he tenido mejor en otros lugares, lo que realmente no estábamos de acuerdo era el cargo por servicio que se añadió automáticamente a la factura que era de £ 15 , teniendo en cuenta que solo éramos 2 de nosotros cenando creo que esto es un costo extra que debe dejarse a la decisión individual cuánto les gustaría propina y ciertamente no pensamos que el servicio que recibimos valía la £ 15 , no volvería a visitar en el futuro.

Overpriced steak which wasn’t great quality, watery sauce and waiter rushed us from the get go “you have until 8:30” while we were having starters then took ages to bring the hot rock and then proceeded to tell us he managed to get us another 10 minutes. Pizza was ok. No time for dessert apparently as waiter said shall I get the bill.

This restaurant is very beautifully decorated, excellent food and service and a wonderful bar. The theme is 1920's American prohibition style in a very high end approach. We had the pork belly bites and they were amazing. The filet for dinner with the mushroom dipping sauce. That mushroom sauce was so good I asked the server for the recipe and I will be making it very soon! The steak quality was top-notch. If excellent quality food in a unique and upscale dining room is what you are in the mood for - this is your place!

I took a large group here based on the great reviews but left disappointed. Overall nice atmosphere and the hot some element was a fun addition however some of the food and particularly the service fell short for me. Spending almost £650 we tried a lot of the menu, starters were ok, variety of steak sauces and butters were fun although mixed review of the steaks as some came out very cooked, sides were good. Desserts weren’t great, I couldn’t eat the Oreo cheesecake and many others left theirs also. My steak arrived and I took it off as instructed with the waiter next to me, I cut into it I said it was already cooked to what I would consider at least medium rare and didn’t need cooking on the stone, I was quite rudely told by our waiter it wasn’t it was blue. I should say most of the party had blue steaks and cooked on the stone as normal 3/9 were like mine, as I was hosting I felt bad for my 2 other guests but like I couldn’t say anything further without a scene, which I didn’t want. I actually left most of mine, it was asked if it should be boxed but said no. Generally our waiter seemed very miserable and it impacted our experience which is a shame, I felt like an inconvenience.

First time at Mugshot yesterday evening, wow what an experience, situated in the Centre of Nightlife on St Nics street, a tiny walk from Baldwin street, Bristol Bridge end, we actually walked along the harbor from Queens Square, passed by where the old Glassboat used to be, is now the Gin House?, crossed the road, climbed the steps , the crown directly opposite looked busy, we turned left and literally there it was on the right, The management managed to squeeze us in as there was a problem with our booking, but it was quickly resolved. Many thanks to Luke for sorting it. The starters were amazing, we had bruschetta and pork belly, the staff were on it and extremely friendly and helpful, especially Tommy, we had a Japanese beer and a spiced rum, which was provided with a non regular cola, very nice actually. The whole place was buzzing with activity, waiters bringing out food and taking orders, The main came out, we shared the Chateau Briand, it was clearly explained, by Tom, exactly what we had to do, out came the hot plate, the fillet was blue, literally seared and cut into slices, you then have to cut bite sized chunks and choose one of the available butters, we had 4 different ones, 1 of each, The meat was good, the experience was good, the customer service was good, the sauces were divine, the thick cut chips were good, all power to mugshot, they are 'Getting it Right' Will defo consider eating there again, many thanks

The idea is ok, place nice and steak was tasty. Was a bit disappointed by the service, chap was nice but we had a spell of not being able to eat our steak while we waited for a new hot stone. Chips went cold and just felt it was a bit silly that we couldn't eat the steak while we waited for the stone refresh. Bit too meh for the cost. Pork belly bites were very good though.

I have no words for the steak other than it was fantastic, probably the best steak I have ever eaten. The butters that come with the steak complement wonderfully and I’d recommend the honey butter! If you're thinking of booking this restaurant, do it, I’m confident you will not be disappointed.. its our first time staying in Bristol and couldn’t have wished for a better meal, We now hope that the Massive Attack gig were here for matches up 🤞 Thank you mugshot for a great experience and meal ❤️

We went to Mugshot last night for my friends birthday and I have to say it was completely underwhelming. If I was on my own I would have asked for a refund. We paid £88 for a Porterhouse and it comes out on a stupid hot stone so we have to cook the steak ourselves. The steak tasted like nothing and having to cut up little bits and cook them before eating them just isn’t steak. When you cook a steak you need to cook it properly and then let it rest, I can’t believe anyone thinks this place is good. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had, places like this shouldn’t exist, if I pay £88 for a steak I want it cooked for me. 1/10

Fantastic experience, great conversation starter when the hot stones come out, food quality is top notch. Highly recommend the pork belly starter, cooked perfectly and comes in a honey and soy sauce mix which is gorgeous. Portion sizes are very generous and we all felt we received great value for money. Harvey was our server and he was friendly and knowledgeable, giving great recommendations on the steaks and keeping drinks topped up. Best meal and dining experience we’ve had in a long time and will be back next time we’re in Bristol

My husband and I booked a table to celebrate my birthday. I struggle to eat out because I have many allergies. Most restaurants get nervous about hosting me, or can treat me like a nuisance, but not Mugshot. The food is epic, and they are completely unphased by my dietary requirements. We were hosted by Torrin, who was incredibly on the ball, in addition to being very welcoming, knowledgeable and funny. He immediately made us feel at ease, and was able to help us work out a slap up feed that we could order without me getting ill. I did suffer afterwards, but that was as a result of greed, and not my immune system, because the food was incredibly tasty. This restaurant and its' staff deserve every success. 10/10.

The theme for the restaurant is awesome, it feels like I am back in a 1960s steakhouse. Cooking steak on a hot stone is nothing new but they have definitely done it in the best way possible. However, the quality of the steak is lower than my expedition for a thirty-quid steak. Still, I am enjoying having lunch in this restaurant.

Great find while in Bristol. The bread and butter were mediocre, but that is my only complaint. The bloody mary was amazing, as was the steak and chips. I thought the hot stone would be gimmicky, but with the flavored butters, it was actually amazing. The steak was well seasoned on its own, though. Also tried the gargonzola sauce. Everything was wonderful. I would recommend if you are in the area.

interesting concept of a hot stone, wasn’t particularly impressed with the taste, the butters didn’t much change the taste of the steak. would reccomend the mushroom sauce or beef dripping, chimichirri is too oily

So I’ve been here twice now and I cannot rate this place enough! For me, Mugshot has always been top notch! We have given mugshot 4 stars instead of 5 due to us having one issue with one of our party’s steak being already too cooked when it got to the table, but once this was mentioned, it was rectified quickly a new Blue steak was given and tasted even better the second time round! We came here for a friend’s belated birthday celebrations, and they treated us with a free home brewed, DELICIOUS! shot and him a tasty coffee sorbet this was a wonderful touch. The two staff serving Lucasz (apologies if this is wrong) and the lady behind the bar who’s name I have forgotten (apologies if you’re reading this) they were amazing; very attentive and were energetic, which, from working in customer service scene myself, it’s refreshing to see as it’s not often you see people keep up great energy all the time! If you’re having starters at Mugshot, We all highly recommend the Mugshot Camembert and the pork belly bites! You will not be let down. Overall this was a great experience and my friend enjoy his birthday dinner here! I look forward to coming here again soon!

I have eaten here a few times and it's always been good, the food is tasty and we have enjoyed our time there. However, on my last visit, we wanted to order a pudding to finish off the night and we were actually told to leave as the next table was arriving soon. The person who was sitting next to us even offered us his table so that we could have the pudding as he was leaving early but we were still told no as they were moving the tables together. Rushing us out really did spoil the evening and has put us off going back, or recommending Mugshot to friends and family. When you are spending £££ on a meal, being rushed to pay and then pushed out was a big no no. I did contact the restaurant afterward, but didn't hear back about it. Probably won't return sadly.

Food was ok, but it was very smoky and loud in there, bathroom needs some updating. My biggest problem is it felt very rushed to finish the meal, we were told to have 2 hours before we had to return the table. We had drinks and starters, so by the time we finished the starters, we only had one hour to cook our steak and eat. In the end, we bagged the rest of the steak and left the drinks we hadn’t have the chance to finish. In fairness nobody came to chase us out but we didn’t want to overstay.

Lovely family dinner where we cooked our own steaks on hot stone slabs. We were incredibly well looked after by a very attentive waiter called Harvey. Left very full with no space for desserts as potion sizes were very generous. Decor was amazing. Great experience

We came here for a birthday celebration and had booked quite last minute. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed by the team and the service we received really made for a wonderful experience. The food was excellent and there is also a good choice of drinks, including some delicious cocktails. The cocktail menu is detailed and links in with the 20s gangster theme which all works well with the atmosphere. It isn’t just a standard restaurant as it gives you the chance to partially cook at your table. This might not be for everybody, but the team do give lots of information and encouragement. Overall highly recommended and we would definitely come back if we’re in Bristol again.

Food was fantastic. The quality of meat was exceptional. Despite lots of side sauces, the meat alone would suffice. Harvey, our waiter, was delightful and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much for him. Customer service as good as the meat!!

You are instantly hit with the delicious smell of juicy meat, and it tastes even better! The staff are very friendly and attentive. Two members of our party had multiple food allergies which are not included in the "14 common food allergies", and often makes eating out difficult. Tom greeted us, and delivered an annotated menu to meet our food requirements (kindly edited by the chef, Neil before we arrived). Tom was friendly, professional, patient and funny. He even noticed when our hot stones had cooled down, and promptly swapped them for hot ones. The other staff member we interacted with was Harvey, they were also friendly and professional. Given my food allergies, steak is often the only thing available on a menu for me, so I have eaten a lot of it! I can honestly say this was the most delicious steak I have had. The different butters and sauces available were also delicious and add an extra layer of flavours. The standard chips come slightly undercooked, however, if you hold it on the hot stone for a few seconds over the beef dripping and butter, you get another flavour explosion. Thank you for not making us feel difficult, and a big thank you to Neil and Tom! You have some excellent staff members.

Mugshot is so much more than a steakhouse. We indulged on the caveman steak served on hot stone accompanied with flavoured butters and sauces, our server Tom expertly guided us through the menu along with adding some personal recommendation, a superb host. Big shout out also goes to bar team serving up some phenomenal negronis!

Amazing service from Hannah and Kayla. Very prompt with taking our order and great recommendations! Luke the assistant manager was very knowledgeable about what wines would suit our pallet and came through with the perfect bottle of red! Thank you so much! The kitchen staff perfected and defined every single dish with passion, flavour and presentation. We Will be back again with out hesitation! If I could give you 10 stars I would! Great team! Xx

We had the most fabulous lunch at pasture and our waiter Glen was amazing, he was so enthusiastic and advised us with wine and menu choices. The food was absolutely delicious, steak perfectly cooked with great sauces. The beef croquettes a must so were the padron peppers, the best we’ve had!

Give it a go for dinner .. had the pork tomahawk .. very fatty .. hassleback pots and slaw .. mac and cheese Didn’t enjoy the slaw / hassleback potatoes were ok / mac and cheese pretty tasteless and quite dry .. Overall not the best / staff were fine . Also had to wait a good 40 mins for food !! Probs be our last visit to cow and sow ..

Un pequeño y auténtico restaurante griego. El entusiasmo del propietario era un poco fuera de lugar y un poco intrusivo. La comida estaba bien, pero un poco grasienta para mi gusto y la carta de vinos es exclusivamente griego, lo que añade a la autenticidad, pero habría apreciado más opciones. Como nuevo visitante a Bristol en un fin de semana largo, los otros 2 restaurantes que visité fueron más de mi agrado.
