100% reccomend this place. The owner is staff are lovely and very welcoming. The food is brilliant. My husband had a burger and I had lamb koftas all food was cooked fresh.

Food was not good .. we had burgers and nachos , nachos freezing , burgers tasteless in a soggy bun. Toilets dirty , cobwebs and dirty tiles disgusting . Saw a review from back in August complaining toilets were dirty , come on they should have been cleaned by now !!!

Back here again and Wow what a gem of a place met by the owner and made to feel so welcomed. We ordered our food and drinks everything was spot on had check backs by the owner and we had some great banter I felt so relaxed and chilled. Thank you for a wonderful evening we will be back and will definitely recommend this restaurant.

Didn't go as when I rang to book I was told 4 day waiting list. Person on phone a bit abrupt. Not likely to Try again.

We come to the cow shed each year we come to brixham it’s one of our go to restaurants Paul is a brilliant host and we enjoy the banter which makes a relaxing atmosphere the food as always was excellent we had serloin steaks and they were superb cooked to perfection by Paul’s wife Jill. We look forward to returning next year.

We found this little gem after reading the reviews and we were not disappointed. We went for our daughters 6th birthday (family of 5). The food was absolutely delicious with a really good selection. The service was great and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend.

I couldn't fault the venue, from the moment we walked in without a reservation to the end of the evening , staff pleasant, food was excellent, good selection of beer and wine . If you didn't know where it was you could easily miss it as it is down an alley way .

Booked in advance and was really looking forward to my meal due to the menu and other reviews. The food was average apart from the sirloin steak which was beautifully tender and full of flavour really really good.The portions were generous. That's where the good stuff ends for me.The visit was a let down the deserts were not good,the profiteroles (my all time favourite)were in a glass in what tasted like cheap chocolate mouse or angel delight and were soggy, my son ordered the creme brulee and shortbread.The shortbread was not shortbread at all but a cheap packet shortie biscuit of this I am sure and to be served this and charged good money when it is very easy to make shortbread or at least buy some decent stuff to serve is shocking deserving of a 1 star review by itself.

Not great… we booked this restaurant after looking at the menus online and couldn’t wait to try the food! It’s a strange place to review, some good bits but Unfortunately lots of poor bits too! The atmosphere in the restaurant is strange, it’s a very hollow building which echoes and we found ourselves whispering. The owner came round and I’m sure he is a nice man, but doesn’t understand what ‘personal space’ is… touching, holding our hands, coming right up to our faces with cigarette breath put us all off straight away… I know some females would feel very alarmed by this too Unfortunately! The drinks were nice, the rhubarb cider was very tasty! The food arrived - I ordered ‘the shed’ burger and the ‘rooster balls.’ The burger bun was not toasted and due to the amount of salsa on the burger, just turned the whole thing into a bland mess. It didn’t taste good at all, sweet salsa and just a tasteless beef burger. It was a shame as I was really hoping it would be great!! The rooster balls were supposed to be shredded chicken… but it was just slop, not shredded chicken at all! A real let down. Another one of our party had the ‘ribs and wings’ - tasted like it was frozen/out of a packet and not fresh as like other restaurants! I wouldn’t return, lots of better fresher and tastier food around brixham harbour including the Prince William, Albero and The Market House.

I really struggled with my review for this place.. because I really want to like it, and I love local establishments.. there was just a couple of issues which will prevent me from returning.. I will say though our friends love the place so please take this review as my own personal opinion and not a generic one. The two issues for me was not the place as it’s done out in a great way, nor the staff as they were very prompt but busy, it was the quality of the food we had. My chicken burger was cooked fine but flavourless sadly, and the wife fajitas had the wrong colour peppers for that recipe which made it far too sweet to the point she couldn’t eat it. Such a shame as I would love to rate it higher..

Nice food but nothing special, and a little overpriced, only had 1 choice of lager but to be honest tasted disgusting

If you like fried food this is going to appeal. I ordered the chicken balls and massive cock, and whilst the balls were small and tasty I left most of the cock as it was too hard to be enjoyable.

Went to the cow shed with my wife and daughters for a 6pm sitting and was served by Sophie and the owner. The service was first class and both catered for our needs faultlessly. There were 5 of us who had ordered and all meals came out together and was piping hot. I would highly recommend this restaurant and fyi the massive cock is a meal and a half.(just read the menu and you will know)
