Visited for drinks, was nice and cosy before the theatre emptied and people began moving tables and chairs around.

Popped in for some Dinner,very relaxing setting once you stepped inside,very polite and friemdly staff, good choice on the menu and the drinks menu was good as well,I ordered Minted Lamb Hotpot,and my wife ordered,Beef and Guinness stew,both meals were very well presented and we really enjoyed them both,my wife's only critique was she only got one bread roll ,and she asked for another which the gave her ,but said there was only so many to go round,but obviously with a stew there's a lot of Gravy and she didn't want to waste it,we also had two whisky sours that were lovely and quite strong 👌 all in all we would definitely go back and would happily recommend you pop in and have something to eat if your visiting the Great City of Chester

I was incredibly lucky to win a £50 voucher for dinner for two as part of the Chester Metric Marathon golden ticket goody bag. And what can I say, we had a great time. The food was awesome and included two starters, two mains and a bottle of Prosecco as my prize. Our waitress was wonderful, the food was delicious and we were very happy. Had lunch at this pub for the first time on a recent trip to Chester. It's a former coaching inn, ideally located right in the historic centre, between the town hall and the new market, close to the shops, with the cathedral only a couple of minutes walk away. The outside tables are right next to an ancient Roman column. Although the building is Victorian, the interior has a very contemporary decor and vibe, with comfy plush chairs. The barman was helpful and friendly, and although it was busy and some of the tables were reserved, he found me a nice place near the bar. Good selection of beers, wine and gin (chose a nice Merlot). The lunch menu offered a wide variety of small plates, burgers, and main courses, with plenty of veggie and gluten-free options. I had the slow cooked minted lamb and potato hotpot, served with mixed vegetables. It was piping hot, with really tender meat, and lots of herbs that gave it a delicious flavour. The vegetables were crisp and lightly cooked. Could not resist one of the tempting desserts - a mouthwatering lemon and white chocolate pavlova with raspberry coulis - and a large latte. Overall, an excellent meal, and not too expensive given the quality of the food and the location. Would come again.

Very disappointed. No lunch menu, no offers which there usually is. Menu has 4 burgers!!! No chicken - apart from a risotto- no salads- no smaller plates. Reason we were told - we are busy as Christmas markets are on!! They were not busy! Christmas menu not available which would have given a set menu priced meal. The Coach House has always been a “go to” place for good value but won’t be going back. Locals obviously not wanted when Christmas market tourists are around. Can understand that special offers are not usually available in December on run up to Christmas- but this is November!

Called in this evening without a booking, place was busy but staff member advised we could have a drink and he would let us know when a table was free. Two mins later he told us a table was free. Ordered From the main menu, Gammon and chips for me, perfect! Husband had half rack of ribs, he said best meal he has had out in years. He told the waitress and the chef actually came out to thank him for his comments. 5 star service from all the staff, ran so efficiently too. Don't wait get yourself down there for a meal, you definitely won't regret it.

Went here for lunch 6th November, we were served by a lovely young man,didn't get his name ,but he had a lovely head of curly dark hair,he was so polite, helpful and friendly, a fantastic asset to the pub,he couldn't do enough for you ,and the food was scrumptious and well presented, and a very nice atmosphere, would definitely go back and recommend to anyone.

We had lunch, sandwiches and chips, cheese and chutney, prawn and marie sauce and chips it was super market cheap bread with Branston chutney and cheese sandwich and the prawn sandwich was on cheap bread again with some chips, I wish I had taken a photo to show how disappointing it was, not going to return, we have been there loads of times before and been happy with the quality of the food but it was awful this time, not returning my advice don't bother!

Found this pub by accident and had drinks. Spotted the food being served and decided to go for lunch the next day and I'm so glad we did. The delicious food was served quickly by a very efficient and friendly member of staff. Really nice atmosphere in very pleasant surroundings. This would be a regular place to visit if we lived in Chester

Great location with outdoor seating and a super friendly staff. Emily and the team were super accommodating for our group of 6. The food was excellent too! Reuben bagel, steak sandwich and coronation chicken were amazing!

The location is perfect, right in the heart of Chester, making it easy to explore the city. My room was cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated, giving it a welcoming and homely feel. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure I had everything we needed. As a coeliac, there were great gluten-free options available. The food was delicious, and I felt well taken care of. Overall, The Coach House is a fantastic place to stay, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Chester—especially those with dietary needs!

Always a friendly atmosphere in this pub from both staff and fellow pub goers. We visit here once a year when we are on holiday and must say the decor has improved a great deal over our last few trips.

Clean efficient polite but unremarkable pub slap bang in the centre of the city. Nice ale, unimaginative menu but a safe bet on a Monday evening.

Been here for a few meals, dinner, breakfast and Sunday lunch, always excellent. Today was absolutely terrible, dregs of the chips, soggy battered fish, one of the worst meals I have had for sometime, waste of money.

This Inn is superbly placed for just walking into Chester. Parking is just round the corner in a multi story.... £20 for a night and a short walk to the Inn. Room was lovely and a good size with lovely en suite. Large fan provided which was needed the weekend we stayed. Staff were very attentive. Breakfast was extra but well worth it, set in a gorgeous, air-conditioned dinning room. We would definitely recommend as you can walk to all the attractions

I don't think we could have gotten anywhere more central for such a good price! The rooms were well done, very comfy bed, and the breakfast was excellent! If we ever stay in chester again this will be my first place to check for a room!

Really good place to stay. centrally located staff really friendly and helpful rooms are comfortable and clean with hairdryer TV safe iron and ironing board. Will be returning here on our next trip to Chester

The Coach House is in a perfect central location in Chester, just opposite the cathedral. The room we stayed in was genuinely huge and, most importantly, very clean. I can understand some people commenting about noise, from about 9pm until 11pm on a Saturday night you could hear people outside enjoying their evening, but tbh is that surprising staying in a city centre above a pub? After around 11pm the noise from nearby establishments seemed to stop and peace resumed. We had a great night's sleep as the bed was so comfy and I would stay again without hesitation. The breakfast was delicious, so good we forgot to take a photo as we just dived straight in! Most importantly all the staff we met were lovely, and seemed to actually want to start a conversation with you, which absolutely made our weekend. Thank you for a fantastic stay in Chester!

This place is unreal. We was welcomed in by Emily. She was amazing. Sat us down and got us our cocktails She was attending to everyone never mind us. All three customers loved her. The one place was booming with atmosphere and the staff was amazing. Great place to come

Use to love eating here. Food use to be top notch. Visited for Mothers Day with family. Really disappointed, waited ages for our food (not busy at all when we were ther)and when It came it was grim. Potatoes were hard, 1 piece of meat few green beans, couple of cut up carrots and a bit of swede with no real flavour. Not a patch on what I remember. The only saving grace was it was 2 for £20. I'd of been really miffed playing full price for it.

Came here for dinner as staying locally. Got to say surpassed expectations. Food was on a two for twenty deal. Shepherds pie for my fiancé and burger for me. Food was well cooked, very tasty and then to wash it down a bit one get one cocktail. Who doesn't like a deal. I had the coachman signature cocktail. Very much based on a disarrano sour and so nice. Staff warm and friendly. Service fast. Definitely a recommend from me.

Went to Chester for a day out with my family and visited The Coach House Inn for lunch. It was a fantastic experience with the most amazing service staff, excellent food and a great atmosphere. The price is excellent and I can not fault the restaurant. I will be calling in there every time I go to Chester. Just wanted to say a big thank you for making our day a great day out.

Just had 2 nights at this hotel location is perfect right in middle of town centre the staff are first class carnt do enough for you the food is absolutely lovely and very good prices would recommend this place will definitely be going back.

Wi-Fi was difficult to access and the central heating intermittently noisy in room The breakfast although cheap was limited in choice.

Called in for lunch while visiting Chester, we had the fish finger sandwich which comes with salad and crisps, very filling, lovely decor and friendly staff, our food was very nice and the meals being served to others looked lovely. Highly recommended

We were on a day trip to Chester and after walking the wall in the pouring rain decided to have lunch at this conveniently located pub. It was warm and welcoming. 3 of us enjoyed the beef brisket baguette and it was a large serving and very tasty. One of us enjoyed the cauliflower soup. They made our 3 year old granddaughter feel welcome with crayons and colouring in. She enjoyed her kids meal.

An outstanding pub (I've not stayed in the hotel rooms) where lovely staff do a wonderful job of serving amazing food and drinks. I've only recently moved to Chester but it's already become one of my favourite places to go.

I think I've given an amazing review before for the coach house but I had to review again after our visit today. This place has to be the cosiest and best place to enjoy a drink and some lovely food in Chester. It's family run which makes it even better. The food we had today was absolutely gorgeous, the service, the atmosphere was just perfect. Even my mum who is the fussiest vegetarian in the world gave her beetroot burger 5 stars! Keep up the great work guys we will definitely be back again and again!

I booked this as a present for my parents for my Mum's 80th birthday. The night before they were due to go, a tree fell on the roof of their house in the storm. The hotel were so accommodating and without any hesitation they said we could re-book. They didn't have to do this as.id already paid in full. My parents went the week after and had a lovely stay and meal in the res. Ryan was particularly helpful.

Came here for food before going to the theatre. As always the food was very nice, typical pub grub style. The staff could definitely have been more attentive but in their defence it was busy. Would definitely return

I booked here for my GF's birthday back in early August 2022. We were both thoroughly impressed by the food & service. The location is great also. I'd highly recommended this place to anyone looking for very good food and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

we were really looking forward to Christmas meal, The soup was disappointing bland and the bread rolls were tasteless and inedible, the turkey dinner was appalling the meat was under cooked, the pigs in blankets weren't cooked, the sprouts were disgusting, the potatoes weren't cooked, the gravy was fine, the Christmas pudding was very nice,

We appreciated the friendly welcome, and table service. Lunch was tasty, and reasonable value for the city centre. They found us a nice table with a view out towards Abbey Square, just made lunch that bit better. We decided not to order one of their main meals. Where weights were shown, they were too large for lunch. But there was a good range of lighter options, in particular we enjoyed the wild mushrooms. I had a very nice glass of red wine, It was a very cold day, and I found the room just warm enough, perhaps if we’d been further from the door it might have been warmer. Toilets were excellent and on the same level as the bar. Although they were busy we didn’t feel rushed, but had time to enjoy the food and good service. We’ll be back.

Have been coming to this pub for many years and is now the venue for our meet ups and lunch, always a good clean pint, prices are City Centre, food is usually quite good, and there appears to be a constant stream of people using the accommodation which is highly rated. The team, Alissia and her staff, are always friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble, a good friendly pub.

Stayed here for two nights, the staff very welcoming and friendly from check in to check out. Perfect location for wander around Chester town, walk out the door and straight into the Market Room was clean and comfortable. We only ate breakfast here, but so good. Certainly recommend and would stay here again.

Found the Coach House while looking for a pub dinner.They were just finishing food service when we arrived, but they let us sit down and order. Our evening meal with two friends was excellent. The welcome was very friendly and our drinks order was taken quickly and served without delay. There was a good choice on the menu and my wife's Gluten Free diet did not cause any problem. Our food was well presented and tasty and I can certainly recommend the gammon. Portion sizes were good and prices were good value for money. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good meal.
