Wow! Most amazing experience! Visited on Saturday morning with a group of friends! The breakfast was out of this world! Service was very prompt and with a smile! Even though they were very busy the food was cooked to perfection and served quick and all at the same time! They even took their time to have a quick chat and banter! We have eaten here on numerous occasions, and have always found we get great service and food. There is a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food is delicious, and plentiful, and they will cater for any dietary requirements. A lovely cafe with great people and great food, and has the best view if you are lucky enough to nab a window seat.

Called in here for Lunch, on the way home to Suffolk after a brief visit to London. There were lots of choices for my gluten intolerant partner, and the cafe was very clean. The food was excellent and the service was very good too. All staff members were friendly and professional. We had a great experience and would definitely return if we are in the area again.

Brilliant Find. I went here with a couple of my girl friends for Breakfast. The food was delicious especially the homemade bubble & squeak. There was plenty of variety too. The place was spotless and the staff friendly and attentive. The place was full on a Thursday morning and I could see why.Really impressed and will definitely be returning and recommending.

Back visiting the area so had to visit the Chestnut as my Husband was botn in Chislehurst and remebers the cafe from his teenage years Had a wonderful breakfast - you really must try the Salmon Bomb - a unique combination of avacodo, poached egg and smoke salmon - i didnt want it to end My husband had a egg and bacon sandwich on white bread which took him back years The staff were very friendly - the place was spotless Highly reccomended Shame we live over 200 miles away else we would be there all the time

Mezze platters take away Delicious homemade food, second time we order those mezze and they are DELICIOUS! We had friends for lunch on Saturday and they loved the food, dolmas, houmous, couscous salad, Greek salad, halloumi sticks, onion salad, black and green olives, tzatziki, falafels. All was really tasty, I would recommend to anybody when they want some nice fresh food to taste at home. Just order at the cafe a few days before. The staff is so lovely, you always feel really welcome. A little gem in the heart of Chislehurst!

Nice lunch after our hour walk, my girlfriend had lasagne and chips (lovely and freshly cooked), I had the chicken shish with rice and salad. Both meals were delicious, washed down with a white wine and orange juice, all for under £20. A great spot to people watch.

Their food is always fresh and delicious and the staff are very friendly from the moment you walk in.( I am great friends with the owners!!) I have been using them for food during lockdown and they are quick with takeaways too! Not been here for a while due to isolation, although did order takeaway online. Nut finally went again yesterday. As always the food was excellent and substantial. The staff are great and very helpful. Shouldn't have left it so long.

I love this cafe, its a lovely family run establishment with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble and the food is great. It has a steady stream of repeat and new customers which speaks for itself as a popular choice. My visits to this cafe have included Sunday visits for a roast and weekdays whilst at work. Bustling, cheerful atmosphere in this cafe. Staff greeted us on arrival and quickly took an order for coffees while we looked over the menu. Great quality coffee, by the way - and I’m a fusspot. Food arrived quickly, I had the Healthy Option breakfast and my friend the Full English. They happily substituted an alternative to toast for me. I also requested a meal to take away which again was no problem at all. I’ll definitely return.

We used to visit the chestnut regularly until the food quality changed when the ownership did. Following a some dreadful meals last year, we gave it another chance last weekend. Cheap ingredients, no atmosphere, less customers and just a disappointment. This was once a really great establishment....

I was there yesterday for brunch with a friend. Staff were nice and caring. I had a salmon bomb and it was delicious. Very clean. There is plenty of parking space around the area, if you don't mind paying but the cost is minimal.

Every time i visit family, we always go to Chesnut Cafe. Food is always excellent and staff are friendly and helpful. Cannot beat it for quality or value.

I have been coming to the chestnut for a very long time and I am so pleased and impressed of the food and the service! All of the staff there are very friendly and the food is excellent every time we visit! It has a very warm and cosy atmosphere inside and there are plenty of seats to sit down and eat or you can get a quick takeaway if you want! The chestnut is the best place in chislehurst and we will keep coming back for sure in the future! We are also regulars there!

When you enter the chestnut you feel like you are dining with friends and family. The service is exceptional, the food not greasy!!! but very delectable and my son loves all of the staff with a passion as do I - they make you want to spend your time there and just feel relaxed and full of tasty foods and drinks.

Came here with my partner last weekend, we’ve been here a few times amazing food with lovely staff. My personal favourite is the Mediterranean breakfast and their coffees are delicious too.

Saw this place on Uber eats the other day. Good selection of food so I ordered a couple of omlettes and a lattè. Came in time and the first thing was that they were piping hot being protected by aluminium containers. As for taste and edibility i cannot fault them.Well done indeed, I will be doing business with you again very soon.

Had takeaway fish and chips the other day and was the best I’ve had in years, was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend.

Used to be the best cafe around. Good food, decent portions, friendly staff. Changed ownership and ingredients are cheap, portions worse and staff not as friendly. Such a shame. We used to love it here.

Just left the chestnut as they were so unhelpful and not nice at all. We are regulars but it was busy so we went upstairs. The noisy was unbearable especially from 1 table. Went back down and a family were just leaving so we waited for a few mins till they left. Sat down, 1 lady wipes table said someone might be waiting for the table!!! Then another said we had to move. Dealt with very badly and unprofessional. No help offered to find a seat or tell the loud table upstairs to ssssshhhh. They were not bothered at all so we left and went next door to another cafe. Felt embarrassed like I'd been asked to leave! Terrible way to treat regulars

Excellet value cafe with freshly cooked tasty food, there is nothing to complain about here. Was busy with people in and out all the time, always a good sign.

I visit the Chestnut 3/4 times a month when I am around the area. It does exactly what it says on the tin - good cafe, yummy food, social staff. My fave dishes are their jacket with chicken curry or their Chestnut no.1 breakfast. The only improvement I could suggest is perhaps being able to order at the tables but I know how busy this place gets.

Meet friends here regularly for a chat and lunch. Fantastic choice and value for money. Exceptionally clean and staff are friendly and helpful. Always look forward to our meetings here. Have been going for years and am never disappointed.

Very good sandwiches. Cooked breakfast a little above average. Sadly, I can't eat there anymore, as its food hygiene rating has slipped to 3 out of 5, so it's below my minimum standard.

Went here first time to get takeaway. Great food and very tasty. Very polite staff clean and bright. Second time went in to sit down for a breakfast. Very good. Quick service. Excellent tasty food. The only let down was the bread and butter. A blob of spread in the middle of the bread. Not spread properly and not even touching the sides. It's the little things that count. Such a shame to spoil a near on perfect breakfast.

If you're looking for a full english breakfast in bromley this is definitely your spot. They simply know how it's done - no qualms with any of the scran. On top of the quality of the food the staff and kind and efficient just like they should be in a cafe. Highly recommend.

Love this cafe, should pop in more often but we're over in Bromley. Just stopped off on our way to Swanley. We had a lovely spicy sausage and mozzarella panini plus a steak pie with gravy boiled potatoes and peas; really good. Loads of spicy sausage in the panini : ) Staff are nice and friendly too and the cafe is very clean. Just order at the counter and they bring the food and drinks to you. Prices are very reasonable for this area so I think this must be the best cafe in chislehurst!

Me and my family go here very often. We love everything about it. The food is spot on 100% of the time and the portions are generous. Be sure to try the apple pie, its the best ive had. As i work around the country i try a lot of cafes but never been to one as lovely as the chestnut. Very highly recommended

I have been a regular at this cafe since the new owners took over in June 2017. I have been to it under the previous management and I can say it’s improved immensely.

I eat here at least 3 times a week, the food is excellent, portions are very generous, the staff are lovely and attentive and the atmosphere is brilliant.

My family and I regularly visited the Chestnut when I was a child, and I hadn’t been in years. The place has had renovations and looks simple but welcoming. The staff are friendly and the food is still great. The portions are large and generous. Would definitely visit again.

Visited with friends...freshly cooked breakfast. Great bubble n squeak. Bacon cooked to perfection - Friends opted for all day breakfast which was huge ! Good coffee too. The chestnut is always packed and we were lucky to get a table for breakfast! Staff are very friendly. Spotless toilets too !!

Ordered a sandwich that wasn't on the menu and they made it perfectly. My only grumble would be thicker bread! But the sandwich was still fantastic

A centrally positioned cafe in Chiselhurst high st a straight forward menu I ordered fish chips peas it was just awful the chips and peas were hot but tasteless cheap frozen portions the fish was supposed to be cod in batter it was the worst I've ever been served grey in colour the batter wasn't greasy but had a rubbery texture never again!!!

Met a friend who lives in Chislehurst who recommended the Chestnuts for a Sunday morning breakfast. We live a couple of miles away and the weather was lovely so walked to it and so were well up for a hearty breakfast. So the key things. The place has very friendly staff. It was a first time for us and it was friendly but a large number of obviously regular families etc were there and all greeted with handshakes so a lot of happy returning customers obviously. Then the food. £5.95 gets you a really good plate of traditional breakfast fare, complete with toast and a cuppa. Exceptional value for money particularly for Chislehurst. There is black pudding if you want it (I DO!), fried bread, a real treat as I hardly have it now, lovely bubble and squeak if you want it, a veggie breakfast with grilled halloumi if you fancy that too plus omelettes and eggs benedict. Just a point to note, you have to go to the counter to order but all brought to you once you have done that,,,,dont sit and wait for a waitress. Highly recommended.

The Chestnut Café has been in Chislehurst for as long as I can remember and I am 41 and been a life long resident, The food quality is always good and I have never had a disappointing meal there. The décor has recently been upgraded as have the prices , I think that this is to compete with Mirage 2 which offers similar style food and is a couple of doors away . The Chestnut however will remain my first choice of café in Chislehurst .

We've been eating at the Chestnut for the best part of 15 years and we've yet to have a bad meal! Admittedly we tend to have the same thing - but it's always excellent - and I cannot recommend the "Breakfast number 1" highly enough! The décor at the Chestnut has changed recently - it's been 'done up' somewhat - but the food and service is still the same.....faultless!!

Quick bite to eat for a family of four. Plenty to choose from on the menu. Food was pretty tasty and good value. Four of us fed and watered and on our way happy :-)

I have been here multiple times but I have to say the refurbishment has made this cafe for the better! I used to come here at lunch with my friends on our days off in 6th form & it was more a builders cafe with good food! Now the place looks great and they still do great food for great prices! Well worth a visit especially on weekends for breakfast or lunch! Love this place!

Feeling hungry this morning, we visited The Chestnut after a fellow biker recommended their breakfasts. We ordered scrambled eggs with smoked salmon for me and a full English for my partner. Our steaming mugs of tea and coffee arrived within minutes of ordering and then the food....my scrambled egg was delicious, creamy and packed full of smoked salmon on top of 2 crispy slices of toast. The full English was apparently very tasty too! The café offers a wide range of breakfast options and next time I think i'll try the Mediterranean - spicy sausages, grilled Halloumi cheese and olives.....

In a superb location opposite the pond. A recent revamp has made it bright and light. It does not smell of the 'local cafe' anymore. The staff are as always incredibly lovely and the food superb. We have variations on the breakfast and my parents couldn't finish it all. It such good value for money as well. I will keep coming back, that in itself is recommendation.

We visited for lunch on a Thursday on the way to a memorial service. We thought the décor was tasteful, modern and the cafe was very clean. The paninis had some unusual fillings. We had goats cheese with roasted peppers and chicken and avocado. They arrived with a fresh, dressed salad garnish. The coffee tasted like coffee and although a bit strong for us we were happily given a top for our jug of hot milk. We would visit again if in the area.

We excitedly visited the brand new refurbished Chestnut Cafe yesterday and couldn't be more disappointed. Chislehurst is desperately in need of a great cafe and so we had high hopes that this would be what we had been waiting for!We arrived on a Sunday around 11am but couldn't get a table. As you have to order at the counter, customers were wandering around clutching table numbers looking for tables, which were all full, so we decided to leave and come back later. When we did return, at around 12pm, and found a table upstairs, we were then subjected to a room full of screaming children, which was just horrible. Admittedly this was not the fault of the cafe but we just wanted to get in, have breakfast and get out again. Little did we know that we'd have to wait 40 minutes for a panini and smoked salmon and scrambled eggs!! When the food finally did arrive it was clearly not worth the wait! The panini was slapped on the plate (not a piece of green salad even as a garnish) and the salmon was mixed in with some greyish scrambled eggs and looked like the most unappetising meal on earth! The Americano coffee was just instant coffee and all this was served by a gormless waitress who merely grunted at us and walked off! If you wanted another drink you had to go all the way back downstairs again, leaving your food to go cold, and other people in the cafe clearly had similar issues - we heard one family order milkshakes 3 times, receiving 2 lots of hot chocolate before actually getting what they wanted!!In out opinion The Chestnut Cafe has the look of a nice, modern cafe but that's where it ends. The food, service and atmosphere were dismal and there is absolutely no way that we will be returning. What an incredible shame, it could've been a treasure if the owners had just tried to make a tiny bit of effort.

A proper 'Old School' cafe.Whether we just need a bacon sarnie and a cuppa, or a full English breakfast - we always come here.The Chestnut breakfasts are made up of fresh, decent ingredients, cooked to perfection. We usually visit for a mug of hot, sweet builders tea and a Sunday morning 'Full English' when we're in the area, and always look forward to it.Many Chestnut customers are local regulars, but some come from further afield and you get a real cross-section of diners. They open early and breakfasts are busy, yet we always manage to find a table.I've not had lunch here myself, but there are various sarnies, and proper staples like: Steak and kidney pud, bangers & mash or apple crumble are on the menu/specials board.Service is well organised and friendly. You place your order at the counter and it is brought to you in a flash. One could easily linger and read the morning papers, or pop over the road and feed the birds by the duck pond and come back for lunch.........Maybe next time!
