Place is perfect, pool table, dog friendly, huge car park, great staff, in here every weekend and it doesn’t ever disappoint me!

Our 2nd visit in a month to try the theme night menu, and yet again we were not disappointed! Steak night with free drink and a pufmdding after we are totally stuffed. Staff very courteous and we didn't need to ask for anything.

Came for steak night, good food for the money. Staff are lovely too. Been a couple of times now and both times were great. Curry night is lovely!

I went to the Cherry Tree on Monday night (13th May) because our darts team where playing there, I don't always go to away matches as I have to get two buses in from Dereham, however, I made an exception this week and went as I remember Simone and her family from their previous pub and have always had a good relationship with them, and I've not been in for a while. I've not been for a year probably now, but in the past it's been Simone or the other girl no issues. I don't play darts but keep in touch with the team as they used to use our club which closed down. So I was quite upset at the bizarre treatment I got on Monday, I greeted Dean as first time I've seen him in several years, and he served me a drink no problem. The later on I asked for two pints for myself and another player and he became aggressive, refused to serve me as he claimed him and his mother "had dragged me out of the pub" and I was barred. I've not been barred, nor have I even been in for at least year so I'm assuming it's either a case of mistaken identity or he's got some other reason God knows what, although he was off with a few other people too. Even two other customers who I think are regulars looked at me in surprise, although I remember he used to have random tantrums in Dereham, but you can imagine my surprise and embarrassment. As the dart team will confirm, I have never had any trouble in pubs, and I spend about £40 on a Monday night, so it's their loss. I just caught up with friends in the West End Retreat and had a much better night to be honest. I haven't got a clue what set him off, and I asked to speak to Simone, but he refused, so that's another customer lost. I was going to book our wedding anniversary family meal up, but have gone elsewhere now. Very disappointed, certainly not what I expected, and still confused, but not to worry. I'll take my customer elsewhere.

Hands down one of, if not the best roast I've ever been served in a pub. Portion was a generous size and at a rather reasonable price. I'd definitely urge others to try it and I for one will be back again another Sunday for one. Lady at the bar was super sweet and ensured we had a satisfactory experience.

Customer service is bad, staff very not bothered about customers then decided to turn the jukebox off so when money was put in no music. Really wouldn't bother. Will go elsewhere, somewhere with atmosphere where staff actually care.

Have not been here for sometime as my last visit was not great.This time was not too good either .The staff have a nonchalant attitude and could do with some training on customer service as a smile would be nice. Food was ok but could not have a little salad garnish instead of peas which i hate.What does it take to put a little salad on the side.The lady over ruled the guy who would have done this no doubt too much trouble.Better to keep your customers happy i think, will not be back anytime soon.

Ended up with food poisoning don’t bother going. My friends food was so burnt majority of it was inedible. I thought I got lucky however I ended up with food poising. The staff were not in uniform and our waiter was in a dirty superman top and when serving our food he had his ear phones in. We asked for sauces and stuff and he told us to go and get them as he sat and found a different channel for the tv. I wouldn’t waste the time or money going here.

Having visited The Cherry Tree on several occasions our expectations were met. Simone and her staff were excellent. Everybody all received their courses in time and we all ate together. I can honestly say the mushrooms for my starter were lovely and plenty of them. Second course the burger was truly one of the best I’ve had. All was well priced as we knew in advance. Lunch meeting catch up with former colleague. Perfectly o.k. for me. Lunch time menu of more modest portions at re4asonable prices was ideal The proposed forthcoming order at your table with your smart phone will not interest me in any7 way. I much prefer to talk to a human when ordering.

Our children have wanted to go here for ages after driving past on the way to school. Today was finally the day and the experience was brilliant. Both the food and the service were of a very high standard. It was lovely to visit somewhere with such friendly staff, including a couple of young new starters who must have been nervous but who were still brilliant. Will definitely visit again.

I was fortunate enough to win Sunday lunch for 4 with wine. I was sceptical after seeing the reviews but it was free so we gave it a go. Omg! It was the best roast I have had for ages. Great selection of veg on my plate. Sprouts, not hard and not soggy, just perfect. Carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, red cabbage, mashed swede, mash potatoes and roast potatoes. The Yorkshire bud was huge and the gravy lovely. It was like a proper home cooked Roast. Meat was lovely and a generous serving. The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble, even asking if we wanted extra gravy. Ignore the negative reviews and make up your own mind. We couldn’t fault it. Even though it was free I would happily pay the usual £10 for it.

Went at 7.30 on a sunday. Had searched their entire website for times of service and found nothing, only that they were open until 23.00. When we arrived we went to a table and after a few minutes were approached and told that they stop serving at 5pm. When I asked why there was nothing on their website saying this, he just shrugged and said he didn't know. If we had known this we would have gone somewhere else, instead of wasting time going there, and might have arrived before they finished serving as well! A nightmare evening, all because they couldn't be bothered to put something simple on their bells and whistles website like when they finish serving!

Allowed us to buy drinks and watched us read menus. Then told us when we went to order they weren’t serving food. One person said limited menu, other said nothing on offer except desserts! No signs to warn you, no communication. Just taking your money

Pretty sure they just stole menus from another restaurant because the food that came out was nothing like what was advertised.

We had high hopes that the Cherry Tree would have improved under new management. Sadly our much anticipated lunch was not enjoyable. On arrival at the pub there were four people on a table waiting for food and a few people just drinking. We thought we would be served our lunch quickly because it was so quiet but we actually waited for ages. When the food finally came it was hugely disappointing. It’s pretty difficult to mess up scampi and chips but the chef managed to do it. The other meal, hunters chicken, was dry and tough, side salad was a few bits of shredded lettuce, a couple of slices of pepper and some really tiny chopped up pieces of tomato (I think!). Nobody came to check if we were happy with the food, in fact we were pretty much ignored and didn’t even receive a goodbye when we left. It’s very sad as Costessey badly needs a decent pub. Hopefully the Marlpit will open soon and the lovely owner will provide a pub worth visiting. We certainly will not return to the Cherry Tree.

Beth was absolutely superb! After our starters and mains we ordered puddings; for the chef then to walk out saying his shift was over. But Beth to the rescue went from the bar to the kitchen and produced four outstanding puddings.

Since ownership has taken since late last year the meals have vastly improved on the remains they use to serve. The last management didn’t give a toss but the new landlady is a breath of fresh air. The bar staff are always friendly and can’t do enough for you. The entertainment nights are very good and always attract a good crowd. Give it a try ,you won’t be disappointed

Visiting friends in Norwich I came here for a 40th birthday and ate twice whilst visiting. The staff are all so friendly helpful and work there socks off, entertainment was good on the evening we really enjoyed ourselves, place was packed with lots of friendly locals. Food was lovely my daughter had curry and I had steak no faults at all then before leaving Norwich we called in for a Sunday roast yet again no problems. Will definitely be making a visit when I'm next visiting Norwich. Keep up the good work

Table not set with clean cutlery prior to our arrival even though we had made a reservation. Food was OK although the lunch menu has been shortened since our last visit there when it was under different owners. The young girl waitressing was pleasant but said my father was not allowed egg and pineapple with his gamon rather than saying she would go check ... then when he received his gamon he got 2 eggs and was told he could of swapped one for pineapple. Prices were reasonable overall was good .

Contratamos el conservatorio privado de funciones para el cumpleaños callejero de nuestra niña el 8/06/19. El personal era absolutamente fantástico. Fueron muy atentos y siempre se aseguraron de que tuviéramos todo lo que necesitábamos. Organizamos nuestro propio evento, sin embargo, nos permitieron usar su cocina para mantener nuestros alimentos refrigerados y también nos proporcionaron elementos esenciales, como cubiertos y bolsas de basura, y nos ayudaron a limpiar cuando la fiesta había concluido. The sausages were worse than that rubbish the Little Chef turned out, the chicken had to scrape the white slime off the top (both my friend and I), the gammon steak was very salty, however the steak and the egg was actually not too bad. The beer is ok, the televisions need repositioning as the pool table is infront of both screens, so we had two groups playing doubles throughout the whole football and intent on standing infront of the telly looking at their phones.

Llegamos a Cherry Tree como un grupo de amigos para el almuerzo del domingo. Nos dieron una cálida bienvenida y nos acomodaron muy rápidamente, lo que fue el punto positivo de este restaurante. Sin embargo, tuvimos una larga espera para nuestra comida. Pagamos por separado en el bar como parejas y aunque pagamos primero, nuestras comidas llegaron al final. La comida cuando llegó estaba bien, pero no hay nada que gritar. Ambos teníamos pescado, tazas y guisantes. Pedimos guisantes blandos y nuestras comidas vinieron con guisantes de jardín. Cuando le preguntamos esto a la camarera, ella dijo que se habían quedado sin guisantes el día anterior. Habría sido bueno que nos lo dijeran cuando hicimos el pedido. ¡Ambos dijimos que la misma comida es mucho mejor en Wetherspoons! Desafortunadamente, los alrededores en el restaurante están en mal estado y necesitan decoración. Al salir nos dieron las gracias el personal que estaba afuera cuando nos fuimos. Lamentablemente, no volveremos apresuradamente!

Sólo me alegro de que se llenaron. Se disculparon por la espera. Cuando llegó la comida estaba mal presentada. Tarta de queso y papas cruda en el fondo y definitivamente no hay queso, zanahorias duras. Rollo quemado en hamburguesa y tibio. En cuanto a la mantequilla, el pollo estaba tan seco que había que devolver. Nos quejamos y nos reembolsaron por 2 de las comidas ya que el miembro del personal dijo que miró curry y no era bueno. ANTIGUOS AMIGOS REUNITADOS POR BUENA COMIDA

We arrived at 12.30 for lunch to an empty restaurant. The manager was busy decorating the area beside the bar when we arrived. We thought perhaps they were not serving food.

Dio a este lugar una litera amplia durante aproximadamente 15 a 18 meses después de dos comidas malas. Me dijeron que tenía un nuevo gerente y un chef, así que le eché un vistazo. El club de almuerzos aquí es genial (sin tener que pertenecer a nada) con una comida de 3 platos para un increíble 5. 99 o 2 cursos por solo 4. 99. Tuvimos deliciosos cócteles de gambas para empezar, pollo de cazador y mini pescado y patatas fritas para platos principales y mi amigo tenía una esponja de frambuesa de coco y crema para el postre (algo pequeña tiene que decirse) pero para cualquiera que no quiera comer demasiado a la hora del almuerzo es un lugar fantástico y de gran valor. El fácil aparcamiento, un entorno limpio y un personal amable hacen que este sea un excelente lugar para pasar un agradable almuerzo sin tener que gastar mucho dinero. ¡Muy recomendable!

Debes regresar al cerezo. Volvimos a escuchar que hay un nuevo gerente y chef. No nos decepcionó. La comida no puede ser criticada de ninguna manera. Esperamos veinticinco minutos para nuestra comida, pero había siete de nosotros comiendo comida diferente. Definitivamente regresaría de nuevo. Sigan con el buen trabajo.

atmosphere was ok, bar staff nice and friendly food was almost forty minutes arriving and then it was cold ,left most of it on table and left and then had to run the gauntlet of smokers standing in doorway

This was a quick visit as I had just moved house and is now on my doorstep.I was pleased to see they had light bites on the menu as I am not a big eater.The staff were pleasant but we were kept waiting a while for our food but were not disappointed when it arrived.It was hot and presented well and well cooked.Speed up your waiting times to get a better result.

Ok I will be the first to hold up my hands and say I have always hated the cherry tree pub over the years as the food and service has been terrible.oh and the fact it only had a ONE star hygiene rating at the start of 2017 which said it all really but they must of had new owners and a new chef as it is now a FOUR star rating restaurant!

I have given food a wide birth in here for ages. Had a lovely meal today, couldn't fault it. It was hot even the peas and half tomato. The sausages were a little well done and were cheapy naff sausages but for the price we paid I was very impressed. They must have a new chef.

Came here again with some friends for a few drinks and ended up having something to eat aswell. Very hot day, so went into the garden to catch some rays... good atmosphere and it was busy outside. We all enjoyed ourselves. Thanks!

Esperamos una hora para la comida después de comprobar el pago. Intentamos conseguir dinero en el bar, y nos dijeron que la comida estaría allí en 5 minutos. Después de otros 20 minutos llegó, momento en el que nos estábamos muriendo, que es el motivo por el que en realidad comimos. Fue horrible. El pollo estaba seco como el papel y mi carne asociados estaba bien hecho después pidió que raro! Yo le detuvieron volver en caso de que significó otra horas de espera. El joven camarero era grosero y descarados. No volveremos. (Por cierto, no soy normalmente un quejica. Por favor, vea mis otros comentarios para confirmar! )

Lovely lunch in pleasant surroundings. The Cherry Tree is a Marston group pub restaurant with a quite extensive range of food at very reasonable prices, a 3 course meal for 2 with drinks for under £ 30.

No estoy muy seguro de lo que algunas personas van sobre como cada vez que he venido aquí el servicio ha sido nada pero educado y amable, y la comida ha sido buena. He estado en una mesa un par de veces y el extraño gemido puede aquí, pero de hecho están siendo demasiado exigentes. . . Es un pub, que tiene comida. . . . No es un lugar lujoso donde gastro/esperas la perfección. Es un pub con un personal amable y buena comida, y realmente me gusta venir a este pub. Gracias de nuevo a todos para cambiar este pub de alrededor.

Absolutely appalling and won't be returning. Ordered 3 carverys which it stated in menu which are actually roasts not carverys and they were stone cold, Yorkshire pud I could of smashed the window with, barely anything on the plate and no crackling like advertised. Only 1 meal out of 4 was warmish. Took 1 hour and 10 mins to deliver food no apology nothing and we had to keep to toddlers opcupied. another elderly group asked where the food was and they were told they were busy and had a mad rush. Only 2 other people were in ordering food the rest were just having drinks and others finished food and not even having dessert. Poor customer service also. After driving a fair few miles to meet family there we won't be returning. I came here on a works meal a few years ago and loved it but not again. Cold, tasteless, not what we ordered, overcooked, poor service, long waiting times and not even busy time. I have no idea how it's still running.

A visit of contrasts with great food but truly appalling customer service. The Sunday carvery was delicious, the food hot and a really good selection of seasonal vegetables. The desserts sinfully good and a decent selection of beers. Really let down by the majority of lack lustre staff who were unable to raise a smile and the 45 minute wait for a cold dessert which needed no more preparation than placing on a plate - in a half full restaurant.

Popped in for a bite to eat wish we hadn't! We ordered food and a drink. Starters were good. Main meal terrible, my meal was advertised as half a chicken with sweet and sour sauce, it came as a very overcooked dry chicken breast with tomato sauce and a tiny splash of vinegar poured over it, missed my other quarter of the chicken which it stated I would receive. Garden peas also ordered had no taste whatsoever, the only good part was the chips which were fresh and hot. Also ordered spiced coleslaw which wasn't fresh it tasted a day old, asked for normal coleslaw and was told they don't do that which proves it isn't fresh! The lettuce included with the meals was limp and obviously not fresh. Service was polite and good.

Would like to say, what excellent service and food was top rated. Full marks to chef, also top marks to cathy for her service. Lovely to have a local place so good.

Very good customer service, however the food was not as good as the friendly staff, steak was very fatty and not very tasty the pees were cold the onion rings were good the chips were hot and good,the toffee pudding and custard nearly made me forget the steak as it was good, however I payed for a nice steak.

Further to being contacted by Danny the manager, we went back to try again.The food was 100% better this time, and everything we wanted was on the menu and very tasty.Atmosphere was much nicer as depicted by a large table full of people who had a very tiny baby that they had obviously brought out to show people, and the restaurant is now more separate from the sport tv area.All in all a much better experience and I would be happy to go back again!

That's being polite Such a shame ....

I have often popped in here for a bite to eat. It's simple everyday food but it's cooked well. They are good at cooking chicken and steaks correctly. Shame about the cheap sausages but we all have faults. A good cook who is wasted. Would be nice to see this place used more.

Went here again for a few drinks with some mates and had a lovely time. As before, pub was clean with efficient service and friendly atmosphere. Was only going to stay for an hour or so, but ended up staying for 3 hours.

Reading previous reviews of this pub would suggest it has gone through a rough patch and a change of management. Me and my girlfriend ended up here by chance and were concerned looking at reviews after we ordered. However, the food was good, the service was polite and speedy and overall we had a lovely evening. My only criticism is it would be nice to have a larger selection of spirits. All was to a standard of expectation and met are needs. Would recommend to others as a quick, easy and reasonably prices meal. Staff were polite and helpful.

Went in Tuesday 11th October for a meal with friends, and to be honest I wish I hadn't bothered.They had "missed" their delivery so there was a list (as long as your arm) of things that they did not have.Order placed, all having to chose other things, and looked forward to starters and main courses... Well, don't do the looking forward thing, man came over, sorry no lettuce for the prawn cocktail ( I did point out that there was a supermarket over the road!) therefore, no starter for me (the other 2 had to change their starter orders as there were no mushrooms).No salad in the place, no waffles, no salsa for the nachos, no garnishes and basically just a thoroughly rubbish service.Also there was football on at full blast so you couldn't have a conversation, we had been coming in once a week, but I will NEVER set foot over the threshold again after this experience.

You can get good or bad food here depends on the day defenitely not one of my favourite restaurants but not the worst either.

Came here last week with two friends and the change in management is clearly obvious..... the pub is clean and the outside area already looks better than of previous times when i have been here. At last 'the undesirables' have left the pub, and you can tell already that the atmosphere is more friendly. At last it seems as though they have got the right manager. I will be making regular trips. I have to give 5 stars as compared to how the pub was before, things are looking alot better.

First time in this warming pub and I have to say I'm impressed, the staff acknowledge you even though we had to Waite no more than a couple of mins. We were seated and food ordered. Very nice food, plenty of it as well ... the staff were great as I have certain food allergies and some places get funny but not here. ! Would defiantly recommend.
