The Chequers Headington in Oxford

My sister and I had an amazing home cooked Sunday lunch at the Chequers last weekend. It was fresh, hot, plentiful and great value for money. The pin was quiet when we walked in but we recurve such a warm welcome we thought we’d stay. Everything was excellent. If you’re looking for a proper pub and a home cooked roast then look no further. We’ll definitely be going back.

The owner Rosie Jenkins is the best cook ever and she cooked me the best Dino nuggets ever they were perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper they have a PlayStation 6 and they have a flying dog called jager

Popped in to this local for the first time in ages and was bowled over by how warm my welcome was by staff, so much so that I felt I’d come to someone’s house! The barmaid was attentive, genuinely interested and very accommodating. Every inch was clean (a rarity in pubs), all the Sunday football you could want was shown and the Indian restaurant next door (Monsoon) brought a delicious curry to my table. Will be going here every big match!

Visited last Boxing Day to see the Mummers and Morris Dancers . Very busy as is normal on the day . Landlord very friendly and served everything quickly .

We liked the look of the menu I orderd fish dish which they didnt have Its friday evening so why is full menu not available ? In the end i had fish and chips when i cut my fish there was littleraly the smallest piece i have ever seen so i sent it back The young lady came back saying the chef said it was sole so it would be small Small wasnt the word ridiculous The young lady was very apologetic and very good but thats all that was good about the place Will never eat hear again

Nice service, Good food but not a lots of variety. Its value for money. This is good place for someone who wants quite restaurant environment :)

Este pub tiene un aspecto realmente precioso de cotswold, y ocupa un lugar clave en el área de conservación. Tiene una buena selección de cervezas y una razonable selección de vinos. Aunque es normal en muchos aspectos, es dominado por el restaurante indio, que ocupa la mayoría de sus instalaciones. Supongo que es mejor que cierre. Lo que realmente me gustaría ver que se está convirtiendo en algo más como brazos Los carniceros en Nueva Headington. Que tiene un estilo tradicional combinado con un menú ligeramente continental y es un éxito entusiasmado. Estoy seguro de que si el chequers demasiado los carniceros como modelo de las valoraciones).

Visited yesterday as part of the traditional Boxing Day Morris dancing activity . Very busy but staff were able to cope with the numbers which was great . Good range of beers

Great pub food, wonderful fish and chips. Indoor and out door seating. You order at the bar and they bring your food out to you. Needless to say great selection of beers and gin.
