Dosapark in Oxford

I have eaten dosa in Delhi and, whilst it in no way makes me an expert, this is very good dosa.

Mohammad is an asset to the company - provided the best service and food.

Went today for a lunch with 12 of us. They were really accommodating with us. Great with the kids, served the food pretty quickly. I had a lamb biriani, chicken dosa, and some left over chicken tikka (stolen from my son). The chicken tikka was probably the best I've ever had.

We had mostly dosas over here once during our trip to Oxford. Its dosas are good for people who don’t know what is a good dosa. Since there are no other better south Indian restaurants over there this shop is running.

I’ve been going to this South Indian restaurant for the last three years since I moved to Oxford, and I still love it as much as the first time. The food is absolutely authentic and full of real Indian flavors. Everything tastes amazing, from the crispy dosas to the flavorful sambhar and fresh chutneys. You can tell they care about the quality of the food. The staff are friendly, and the place feels warm and welcoming. If you’re looking for delicious South Indian food, I highly recommend this restaurant. You won’t get bored of it—I know I haven’t!

I should have checked the reviews before I went there. I ordered Chicken biyarni and masala dosa. The dishes are blend and not tasty. The service is also terrible. It seems that there is only one waitress and she was using the phone and she didn’t hear me at all when I wanted to get serviced. The atmosphere is a bit not great. I have tried many indian restaurants and this is the worst so far. I wonder abt the hygiene of the dishes. All in all, I wouldn’t probably go back.

Dosa's are delicious as well as the spicy idli. We have tried paneer butter masala and naan and that was also very nice

Dear Dosa Park, I/we am/are disappointed in your menu, I am visiting a friend and we decided to order a curry, we ordered 3 main dishes, all were just way, way, too oily, two of my friends ordered dishes that are usually the creamy consistency but were faced with a tub of oil in each and also their particular dishes said no spice, yet it was so spicy they couldn't eat it, the lamb in mine was cheap and fatty. Our pilau rice had what seemed to be frozen mixed veg in it, we've never had mixed veg in a pilau rice. The naan was hard, like cardboard almost, and what topped off our night was we had ordered at 20:05 and it arrived at 21:45. I would not recommend this place, I wish we had read reviews beforehand but we were so hungry and clearly we've never had issues with other curry houses so trusted this one to be good. We are looking to get a refund because we've had to go to the local tesco to get a microwave meal, which we know will be much more enjoyable. I would not call this authentic in the slightest.

Aparcamiento gratuito por la noche cerca y un restaurante 'indio' muy diferente. Interesante comida del sur de la India - Wada y Dosa por ejemplo que son espléndidos. Ordered idli, plain dosa and methu vada for breakfast, hoping they were freshly cooked. Totally disappointed. Idli was not fresh, too hard to eat, seems like cooked couple days ago. Plain dosa was average. Please cook fresh idlis. Couldn't eat a bite.

Vine aquí con unos amigos para el diwali y tuvimos la fiesta thali. Fue increíble. Todo era muy sabroso y el personal era muy agradable. El tamaño de la porción era enorme y no quería ser derrotado por ella, ya que era tan sabroso. Yo estaba con una amiga india y ella dijo que es muy auténtico también. También nos dieron una caja de golosinas para llevar a casa que fue fantástico. ¡No creo que haya comido mejor comida india!

Extremely friendly service and wow the food! Delicious. I had the Tandoori Chicken Biryani and it was just amazing. Definitely try the Chai as well. Definitely go when in Oxford.

When we enter into the dosa park the restaurant smells very bad and the floor was too much slippery and we are about the slip down in the floor which is very bad.we had ordered tandoori chiken biriyani veg biriyani tandoori chicken ,in chicken biriyani the chicken was not cooked well and also same for tandooori chiken was not cooked well and tastes like old one overall it was very bad experience and to owner :if you are not able to provide good food i dont y u had opened the shop sorry to tell you

The food was okay, tried chicken noodles, idly sambhar, butter chicken and naan. Everything tastes good.

The food is by far the best Indian cuisine being served in UK, have tried some of the most famous Indian restaurants but the food served here is too good, flavours, spices, presentation, quantity, price everything is just perfect.

I ordered the butter chicken and it’s the worst I’ve ever had. It looked bad and tastes worse. It was basically tasteless watery concoction Dosa park needs to do better in the preparation of the meals, it’s actually people’s hard earned money at stake here

I came here the first time 11 years ago. Already then it mesmerized me with some of the delicious food I’ve ever had. Today, I came back after 5 years. And it’s still as good as the first time I tried a dosa. Highly recommended.

Tried south indan dishes like Dosa, and Idli. It was good. Sambar was also good. But Coconut chutney and Tomato/chutney are not authentic for me as a south Indian. Coconut chutney seemed like some dal power mixed with water. (It may be normal for North Indians who have never tasted original coconut chutney made of fresh coconut).

I usually don't put on reviews - But this place was really really bad, shocked at the 4 star rating and also shocked how this place continues to be in business. Stale old food, no flavour, no salt , tea made with old milk. The sambar is powdery . Really really bad food.

The place is certainly homely. However, the rasam and tomato chutney were the only good things we ate. The utthappam was hard, the veg kothu paratha was below average and the curd rice was PIPING HOT, with a hint of curd. I'm not sure how any Indian can accept HOT curd rice.

I've always loved the food here -- great portions for a great price, and completely authentic. The interior is rustically decorated and great for a casual lunch or dinner. Service is a tad slow in busy periods, but still faster than most places.

Food is below average.Almost every dish lacks salt.Vada was undercooked .If you are south indian dont visit this place.You will forget how good south indian dishes are.Not sure how people have rated 4 for this place.

8 pound Gobi Manchurian, I guess 1 pound per a piece of cauliflower. Ridiculous. It was a take away can't even demand more. But it does taste nice, wish there was a bit more.

Absolutely love this place! Dosa Park is the best place for Indian in Oxford. Their masala dosa is 100% recommended. Such authentic taste! And the chutneys are so very delicious! All their items are great- be it the thalis, biryani, lassi, or paratha. Everything is delicious here! What I love the most is that, unlike many Indian restaurants here, the taste is honest to the original flavours. And not pretentious at all. I like the simplicity. Super quick service. Very polite staff. Excellent hospitality.

We were in a hurry to catch the train back to Manchester when our fell onto Dosa Park. We hurried into the restaurant and requested them for a quick take away option. The food was prepared very quickly and was very delicious. We had the menu vada sambar and spicy fried idly. It was very tasty, the team was very helpful and cheerful. I would truly recommend everyone to go dine in this authentic Indian restaurant.

Went recently when I was visiting Oxford. Ordered full breakfast ..not flavoursome food. Idli so hard .parotta ..oh my god . My tooth got loose . My crown almost broke . For south indian ..it is far from it . Food is not tasty . Service was reasonable . Place decor is decent . Prices ok . My advise ..avoid parotta and idli .

Worst south indian food i have ever eaten, too much oil in every thing like Rasam, chutneys, sambhar, dosa, and chilli paneer. It seems that the cook believes that oil alone makes the food tasty. Aweful coffee.

We had a lovely meal at this restaurant last night. Most of us tried the thali, which was superb. I think we all agreed that the food and service excellent. Will definitely return to try more South Indian specialties in the future. I’m looking forward to trying the dosa on the next visit. The mango lassi are amazing.

Dosa park has good range of vegetarian options. However, service is bit slow. We ordered full meals, by the time they got us second Roti that I asked to serve I had finished my meals. It was a little disappointing.

South Indian food is my absolute favourite, so much so, my wife tells me I'm fussy. If this is the case I'm here to say the food here is excellent. I was in Oxford for work. I came three nights in a row, I was that happy. The staff were great.

We left our bags here for storage and the went walking around Oxford before returning to eat. This is an outstanding Indian Restaurant. The Chicken Vindaloo is the best I’ve ever tasted. The staff were very hospitable and our orders for five diners arrived quite promptly.

I recently had a disappointing experience at Dosa Park, I visited this place on a weekday. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was hit with an unpleasant odour that lingered throughout my meal. I ordered a set dosa, vada, chana masala, paratha, and chapati. The batter for the vada and dosa was completely unsalted and lacked flavour, making it bland. The chutneys and sambar served alongside were unsalted and tasteless as well. The chana masala was a letdown, with undercooked chickpeas and a runny gravy that was essentially just tomato puree with no seasoning. To add insult to injury, the paratha and chapati were made with maida (self rising flour) and were not cooked properly, which could have resulted in digestive issues given the uncooked chickpeas. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food and would not recommend Dosa Park to anyone. It's unfortunate that an Indian restaurant would serve food that is so poorly prepared, as it reflects poorly on the country's culinary reputation.

Dear All, Please DO NOT visit and avoid DISAPPOINTMENT and don't tell me that I didn't tell you in advance. I am a South Indian and love the food from my part of the world. It was lunchtime. Me and my friend unanimously decided to do for this place. She read positive reviews for "Dosa Park". Hands-on heart, this is the WORST South Indian food joint I have ever been to. I wish I could give a negative or ZERO star to this place. The moment we entered, it had a horrible stench in the air. We settled down and ordered Medu Vada as a starter. There was no salt in the vada and also there was no salt in the sambar. Then we ordered set dosa and chapatti and channa masala. The chapati were made from self-raising flour rather than wheat flour. Wow, what a horrible look. It was undercooked and I had to leave half of it. The plight did not end there. The chana masala was awful. In water tomato gravy, without any salt again, less than half of the tinned chickpea was added, heated and served—absolutely tasteless and horrible food. Look at the audacity of the waiters, they could say it was chana masala. A self-respecting South Indian would die of shame. I wish I could ask the chef to come to my home and teach him how to cook. Poor natives of this country think they are having "South Indian" food. What a disgrace. If you want to enjoy real South Indian food, please visit Sarvana Bhawan or Chennai Dosa. Dosa was not nice, potato mash seemed stale, tomato chutney was from raw not fried tomatoes which didn't taste good, the other white chutney was mostly water. Overall not the best South Indian food I have had.
