Really good. Beautiful fish curry, well cooked. Light soft Nan bread. Great staff.. excellent.

I was just walking through Summerton on Banbury Road and came upon Spice Lounge and decided on the spur of the moment to drop in. I had a lovely mutton biriyani with sauce and mango lassi. Thoroughly enjoyed! The mutton was very tender and plentiful. I totally recommend!

Mientras mi esposa y yo estábamos de paso pensamos que estaríamos en buenas manos, ¿verdad? ¡MAL! MAL Y MUY MAL! Soy indio y naturalmente tengo una inclinación natural por la auténtica comida india. Dicho esto, también estoy lejos de ser ingenua y me doy cuenta de que producir comida india dentro de los confines de un restaurante es definir la naturaleza de un oxímoron. Así que, teniendo esto en cuenta, uno está dispuesto a otorgar un grado significativo de “licencia artística”. Así que con una dosis saludable de ración y un grado igual de aceptación por algo parecido a “sabor indio mezclado con chile” decidimos enfrentarnos a las intrépidas calles de Oxford en busca de ese santo grial. Wow, esto era casi tan cerca de la “comida india” como un cubo de agua de vajilla es el mejor menú degustación de Gordon Ramsey en uno de sus mejores restaurantes! Pedí Lamb Rogan Gosht & Buttered Garlic Nan y mi esposa pidió Chicken Tikka Masala & Pilau Rice. Sería un sacrilegio dignificar la comida como india o incluso bangladesí. El material promocional que habíamos leído lo declaró como “el ganador del Premio al MEJOR Restaurante Indio de Oxford!”. Como amante de la buena comida y alguien que disfruta cocinando una variedad de cocinas diferentes, respetuosamente sugeriría que haría mucho mejor comprar una lata de pollo Tikka Masala en cualquier supermercado a un costo de £ 2. 60 junto con una £ 1. ¡50 paquetes de arroz! Disfrutarás de eso mucho más que la comida que me costó £ 59 incluyendo un cargo de servicio! Esta, por definición, tiene que ser una de las peores comidas que he tenido. ¿ALGUNA VEZ VOLVERÉ? ¡NO, NUNCA! La comida india, cocinada correctamente se compara con algunas de las mejores cocinas del mundo. Back here after a several year gap and we were remembered, and warmly welcomed, so that was a good start. Excellent Indian, three mains, three vegetable sides, all looking fresh, different and interesting and tasting excellent. Nice to be back.

Amazing, doesn't look like much outside but it was wonderful

We visited this establishment for the first time on Saturday night, it was my birthday. My partner booked it. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff couldn't do enough for us; they were really attentive but not overbearing. They gave me a birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday, which was not requested by my partner, which I thought was a lovely touch. If I have one criticism, I thought the wine was expensive, but it won't stop us from returning. I highly recommend the place.

Elegí Spice Lounge después de leer que había ganado un premio. Mi experiencia lo confirma aún más. Al no haber comido en ningún otro restaurante indio en Oxford (pero muchos en otros lugares) , no puedo hacer otras comparaciones locales directas. Spice Lounge ofrece una experiencia culinaria sofisticada de alta calidad. No es 'buena comida' en el sentido 'Opheem', pero aspira a la excelencia en lo que es, y en mi primera visita lo logró. Sin embargo, simplemente poner un porcentaje de dos dígitos en una factura ya robusta, es una arrogancia estadounidense irreflexiva – que no creo que sea en absoluto intencional aquí: es solo la tendencia que acompaña las percepciones de este tipo de restaurante (además de diferenciarse). Pero todavía no somos el estado de las 51 calles de Estados Unidos, y esta práctica debe detenerse. A pesar de estar muy contento con todo, no pagué este cargo extra. Uno espera un excelente servicio en un excelente restaurante. Esto no merece un reconocimiento adicional. Si el servicio de alguna manera (difícil de imaginar) va más allá de las expectativas, entonces, por supuesto, uno debe considerar voluntariamente dar una propina saludable. Pero ordenar esto, y la cantidad, desde el principio deja un mal sabor de boca, que, después de tener una idea del personal y el "ambiente", estoy bastante seguro de que no está justificado ni la intención detrás de él. En general, una vez más, este es un excelente restaurante indio con clase con excelente comida y gran gente. Tengo la intención total de hacer otra visita cuando de nuevo estoy en los alrededores.

It was a great experience, the Lamb was not tender, but the rest was great! I Hope that i can come back in the future! Especially the papadom was unexpecetedly good. Also the kulfi, and the chicken tikka were awesome!

I had dinner at an Indian restaurant, and the food was absolutely delicious. Every dish was bursting with flavour, from the rich spices to the perfectly cooked ingredients. The balance of spices was incredible, and each bite was an experience in itself. It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed a meal this much, and I’m already looking forward to going back!

We ordered takeaway from here after having a leaflet left at our flat. The food was nothing special, but it’s reasonably priced, especially since they deliver for free after you spend not too much.

Excellent food and great service. Meat was tender and well-cooked, prawns had a crunch that indicated their freshness. Really good meal.

Good food, attentive staff. Group of 10 very loud guys really spoilt it for us. Realise this isn’t the fault of the restaurant. Price a bit steep, starter/main and drink for two usually averages around £70 country wide. This was £104!!

We recently went to Spice Lounge for the first time in years and were really impressed with it. The food was excellent and the staff were all super friendly. We'll be going back soon, without a doubt.

We had a take-away. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. Very good portion sizes, but sadly the quality wasn’t quite up the standard I would have expected for the cost.

Wow! What a restaurant! We were on our way to the gym, but the Indian curry smells as we walked past were far too alluring to ignore, so we decided to treat ourselves instead! Next thing we know we are having the best Indian meal we have ever had! The customer service was second to none, and the food… to die for. Thank you so much, we will be regulars now! Just wow. We came here by accident; the restaurant we were intending on visiting was closed for staff training-and were so pleased. I haven’t been full up after eating out in years. The food was fabulous, full of flavour and a visual delight. Well worth the bike ride.

Went on a quiet night to be fair. Service excellent and almost too attentive. Food on this occasion fairly average but ok. Atmosphere was not great purely because there weren’t many people there. Try the chefs specials.

Has to be the best Indian I’ve ever been to for both food and service. It’s a shame I’m not local or I would definitely go here regularly. I usually stick to the same dishes but the menu tempted me to try other dishes and the staff were really helpful guiding my choice. I tried my friends dishes as well which were also incredibly tasty.

As a vegan and carnivore couple this restaurant satisfied both of us. Spice lounge was spot on. The flavors were very good.

We came to Spice Lounge this week for dinner with my friends as one of them had visited before and loved it. I found my experience was equally as delightful. The staff were so welcoming and attentive with us during the course of the evening and every dish we had was delicious. Bursting with flavour, portion sizes were perfect and well presented. If I hadn't been so full by the end of the meal, I'd have carried on eating! All in all a wonderful evening at Spice Lounge and I will definitely be visiting again soon.

Amazing experience! All the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming! I recommend the Tandoori Chicken Tikka, it was seasoned perfectly and was the chicken was juicy and tender.

This was the second time we went to Spice Lounge with my family which my son recommended. But this time we were very disappointed. We ordered 5 main meals and 5 sides. Two lamb dishes, one chicken, one fish and one king prawn dish. I called the waiter over and told him the fish was raw in the centre. He took the dish away and didn't even apologise. While I was waiting for them to recook me the fish dish I started to eat the king prawn dish. The first king prawn I ate was a little cold in the middle so I cut up another king prawn. The middle of the king prawn was raw so I called the waiter over again. He asked me if I would like him to take it back to cook a new one do I told him YES. Also did not apologise. The only sorry we had was the waitress came to bring us our meal. The manager did not even bother to come over to speak with us to reassure we were happy or not. We were charged the full price plus service charges. I paid the full bill unhappily. We are definitely not going back there again.

The hotel is clean and service is good. The only thing I did not like was they charged me £5.50 for pappadoums and some dips. Don’t fall for this. Rest a decent experience. Loved the dal tadka. Also, don’t order their onion bhajiya as it was not cooked well.

The vegan options are plentiful. The dish I had was tasty Dopiaza vegan. Service was great.

Just in the area for one evening, absolutely cannot fault this restaurant, the food was fantastic, beautifully spiced. A family run business, all of the staff were very polite, especially the gentleman at front of house. We would highly recommend.

The first time I visited Spice lounge, just before covid we had some very nice foods.we even tooaway some for friends. This second time,the lamb tandoori was tough and not well cooked.it was still red inside so was the lamb in tikka masala. The biryani sauce was tasteless.No salt The Aloo potatoes were half done.The servicewas excellent and place nice clean.

Nice place. Food was good, but generally lacking in spice. Everything was mild. However, the big issue was service. Booked for 7pm and we were early, and then we were rushed through with waitress pushing us to take next course before we were ready. At end, she took plates and then cleaned table whilst we were still talking. In context, we had not been offered desert at that point. We had paid and left by just after 730! Very expensive for bland food and poor service.

So disappointed, went with friends Saturday night and only 6 people in there! Freezing cold as front door open and closing. Food shocking, raw veg in that I couldn't recognise, ordered sharing starter for £15 and the other couples single starter was far more food for price! So many under whelming dishes I must have had an off day? Staff friendly, price was crazy nearly £90 per couple would not recommended unfortunately very sad.

Quite possibly the worst curry I’ve ever had… Basically none of the food was fresh and charged ridiculous prices! Popadoms weren’t fresh (store bought), rice was a packet rice and the curry tasted like it came out of a jar. Definitely do not recommend this to anyone..

Great atmosphere as only me and a table of 4 the other side. 2 staff constantly walk around in anticipation of a request from only 5 customers. Gotta give them 11 out of 10 for service.

Spice Lounge is the best curry house in North Oxford. I went for the first time in August and had rebooked to come back within the month. Would highly recommend

My college and I dropped in to Spice Lounge on a Monday evening around 10.30.Although they were probably getting close to closing they made us feel very welcome and the food we ordered was the best Indian food I have ever tasted. As an undergraduate student my friends and I wanted to get takeaway but the manager was very kind to let us eat in with takeaway prices and served us very kindly and the wait was not long. The crunchy papadums came with mint with curd, mango chutney and onions. 😋 I ordered the Chicken Biryani and it was delicious, a good mix of spicy, savoury and hearty and it was incredibly filling. My friends really enjoyed their paneer, tikka masala and makhan too. They were so happy. Music was great and service superb! Highly recommend!
