We went in for a quick pint and I went to see if there was a pool table. On the way, a dog was sitting. Being polite and liking dogs I went to pat its head. The next thing I experienced was its teeth gripping my hand. This was the first time I had been bitten by a dog and it hurt. That was a week ago And I am still considering going for tetanus. This dog was savage. The barmaid whose dog I think it was put it behind the bar and pointed out that there was a small tag on its collar saying do not pet. Five minutes later the dog was prowling the public area. Had I reported this to the police the owner would have faced a fine, the payment of compensation and the dog most certainly destroyed. This could have happened to a young child with far nastier results. I am an ex-police officer so am well aware of the action taken against such a dangerous animal. I was given tissue and some plasters but this just was not good enough. My advice would be to stay clear of this pub or check for that damned dog before you stay.

Popped in for a quick drink on a Saturday afternoon/evening. Bar staff very rude and a very unpleasant visit. Had a pint of Fosters which when served was very flat, asked if it can be changed to which I received a “tut” and give me a minute. 5 minutes had passed and still stood at bar waiting , give up in the end and left.

On a visit to crewe with friends we needed a drink and relax after a lovely day and this was a nice looking pub on the outside and the name sold it hahaha we went in did what the bar person told us she came and got our drinks sorted lovely girl(long brown hair in her 20s) But then when it was time for another drink we went to notify the staff we wanted to order we were told someone will be with you after 5 mins and seeing staff take orders from customers who had come in after us so after 10mins we went again and was told the same and after 20 mins I went back to the bar and I told a blonde hair woman that we still not been served she in the most horrible tone told me to sit down pull my mask up and said it's my 1st day back you'll have to wait I just couldn't believe her obnoxious nasty attitude towards customers as I would have normally asked who she talking to in that tone I thought no just leave it don't get barred on 1st time in pub We were finally served by the lovely girl who served when we went in No need for bad attitude to customers think she needs some training on customer relations or find another job were she not in contact with public Lovely pub just not good service unless you like it with bad attitude

Called in for a pint, had to ask for top up, girl behind the bar pulled her face, took a sip and it was rough, really rough! asked for replacement to be told when you lose the attitude followed by more abuse which left us both shouting and then to be messaged by the landlady telling me next time I'm in I'll have her to deal with. Excellent way to do business, some people should not be in the public eye.won't be going back as I've barred myself. NO food. Poor beer. Very very poor service. Why bother.

I have been going to the Cheese Hall in Crewe for a number of years now and everything has been wonderful with the refurbishment and the resident DJ Snowy on a Friday night. Since the new Landlady took over Danni most of the original bar staff have left and now i have just found out that the DJ has been replaced with what can only be described as a joke! DJ Snowy was told that he was no longer needed as there had been several complaints about him which is a total lie! Amber Taverns you need to seriously find yourself a new manager as this one is hardly ever there always leaves one member of staff on their own and walks around the pub in her pink fluffy slippers! She is a disgrace and i for one will not be visiting the pub and i know there are plenty of other people who will not step foot in the place again until a new manager takes over. Why should she spoil a very decent pub for the locals.

The beer is fairly cheap and there are plenty of TV screens to watch sports. I went outside to see a friend but he had left. I inadvertently went upstairs and thinking it was a smoking area as the area downstairs was very small and was told by some woman to leave, rather rudely I might ask. I guess people were right about this pub, the landlords are rude and up themselves. What a shame that I hardly ever go to visit it, am beginning to see why.

Got into the cheese hall at 20:10 to go and watch the football with 4 friends, I met them in there, I was the designated driver for the I rarely drink alcohol. It had been twenty minutes and the Tottenham game was becoming very interesting. The owner of the pub come over to me and asked if I was buying a drink which I replied yes I just happened to lost track of time watching the football match, he then replied it’s not a youth club. I felt embarrassed, humiliated and felt I was being bullied into buying a drink, five minutes after he asked me again which I said I don’t appreciate being bullied into getting a drink when I was going to buy one. I was then told to leave the pub. My friends left as well. Part of the customers in the pub said they were also embarrassed by the way the owner spoke to me. I thought it was supposed to be friendly in there not to be bullied into buying a drink.

Went with my family for a weekly visit to watch the football, got rudely approached by a terribly obnoxious lady and got asked for ID. Baring in mind I'd been here 5 times prior drinking alcohol and not been asked for ID. This time however I wasn't drinking alcohol as I was driving my parents and she told me to leave because I didn't have my ID. I am in fact 21, she made it very public in her "time to shine" that I didn't look over 18, and I should get up and leave and wait outside for my parents to finish off their drinks! I was very embarrassed and will never be returning to your pub, disgraceful and rude behaviour from your staff.

Luego me dijo "moverse fuera del camino". Protesté al personal del bar, entonces le envió hacia mí para más de intimidación, ni disculpa él pensó que era su derecho a hablar a los clientes de esta forma. No hace falta decir que sin duda no se va aquí

Don't be put off by the exterior. This is not fine dining, this is a quaint pub serving good food cooked by Gordon Ramsay (according to mine host). We were greeted by much Bonne Homie by the landlord dressed in rather natty black trouser and colourful braces (suspenders). The pub is obviously frequented by locals and has a range of offers on the go for locals and students alike.Food is relatively cheap as are the drinks. What sets this apart rom others is the good humour on display from the staff. We worth a visit.

Needed a quick lunch and didn't want to spend to much money when I spotted a deal for £3.50 for main course of £4.50 for 2 courses, so decided to give it a try. There was a choice of about 6 different meals and I went for the 1/2 chicken breast with bacon and bbq sauce. It turned out to be quite good and better than most things you can get for £3.50 for lunch in a town centre.I also had the apple and custard pudding, which was also good and filled me up.There was plenty of other options not much more expensive. The staff were friendly.I'll be going back the next time I need a quick cheap, tasty meal.

Two bar staff. Between them couldn't use the til. No diet pepsi so I asked for any low calorie type drinks. They couldn't determine if they had anything else to offer. So in otherwords no other slimline drinks.. really?? Questioned if we wanted Ice - No thank you. Lemon?? Yes please. Three drinks with ice served up, this having finally establishing which drinks I had ordered 5 seconds earlier, for a second time. An abrupt woman stood nearby seemed to be taking an interest in what was happening and just seemed annoyed to have to point out that there were no tongs for the lemon when one of the staff began searching about. A member of staff on her break maybe?? Staff didn't understand the menu options either. Long wait for the food. No other people in there and by then we understood why. Gravy like glue had to go back. Vegetables (note plural) was a small group of peas.Microwaved anaemic coloured pies looked extremely unappealing. Melted chese and ham baguette. Cheap unmelted cheese hiding cheap fatty ham. Had we not already paid, would have asked for money back. Once the plates were collected and we were asked if we had found everything okay. My response was "no not really. It wasn't nice at all". The response? Silence. So rude. The place was grubby, the decor dated. My niece starts uni next week and unfortunately I doubt will bother with the place again. Perhaps recently changed hands? Even so, complete waste of time and money. Sort it out pronto.

We didn't eat here - just stopped in for a quick pint after looking round the shops. We were the only people in at 5-o-clock on a Friday, even though it's located between the main shopping streets and the Market Hall. Booked a groupon for afternoon tea for my daughter’s birthday. The deal was for 4 people. My 2 daughters obviously weren’t going have tea or coffee and when the waitress declined a hot chocolate (which we had no issues with), she offered them a glass of water instead. Seeing as we’d paid for 4 people I think a glass of squash for them wasn’t really too much to offer. There were no sausage rolls/cheese wellingtons as stated on menu, so we were given lots and lots of finger sandwiches. Unfortunately they were all tasteless. We’d had nothing since breakfast and still they tasted so bland. The scones were so soft they were falling to pieces as we spread jam on them. The cakes weren’t at all inspiring. The macaroon was the only thing that was average. The room itself was so hot and made the meal even more uncomfortable. A thoroughly disappointing experience. I’m glad we booked a groupon for it but still found it a waste of money. A shame really as I was planning to return for the Sunday roast deal. The location is breathtaking but completely ruined by the lack of quality of the food.

Been visiting jodrell on and off as a cyclist for the last 5/6 years, from when the modern caterer was responsible for the cafe, sadly that came to and end a while ago and the university took back charge. The food seems to have been going downhill ever since. Todays (Sunday) breakfast offering consisted of sausage or bacon barms. Precooked and left to slowly cool in a pot, not kept warm or reheated, served on an unbuttered barmcake that was left to dry out in a paper bag. The whole thing soon disintegrated because it was dryer than Gandhi’s flip flop. And they have the cheek to charge £5 for it. On the (only) plus side the coffee is still decent. May be better in the week but today was embarrassing compared to how good it used to be.

Used to be quite good, but gone down the pan. Soup, now I can make better. Appearance and texture of cheap packet stuff. Chips, now how do you manage to serve hot chips and cold chips in the same serving? Poached salmon fillet; thin piece of tail end, over cooked and dry. Got to get your own cutlery, sort of like self service. Staff doing their best, but run off their feet. Really disappointing and dare I say it, overpriced 🫤
