Fantastic historical pub with a gorgeous interior.

Relaxing atmosphere - colour changing artificial lighting and great natural lighting from glass ceiling above. Cosy Decor. Plenty of Plants. 😍 Busy but not overwhelmingly crowded (Friday around 12-2pm). Enough space to sit privately and chat with friends and also to move around freely. Toilets were clean and well maintained. Staff were down to earth and friendly. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I had a bacon & sausage sandwich which was perfect whilst my friend enjoyed the steak salad which honestly looked divine. 10/10

Excellent historic pub - amazing tiled interior and wall mural. Good choice of real ales (several Firebrick beers on my visit) plus wide choice of national keg brands). Food looked reasonably priced reflecting it's location on Newcastle central station. Didn't eat though. Knocking 1🌟 off as the gents toilets in a bit of state - a refurb required maybe ... Overall 👍 from me. Historic note - used to be the 1st class waiting room. Historic note # 2 - was used in the 60's up until closure as holding cells for football hooligans

Price of a pint is eyewatering it was 1 and gone wont be back

Drank there for a long time, however, on this occasion we had a poor experience at the bar. I ask for 4 pints of various beers and then for a pint of Guinness, the young lad serving was annoyed because I asked for the Guinness last! He said " you could of told me earlier you wanted Guinness as it takes ages to pour" in a very angry mood. Not good at all, and he shocked all of us with his attitude. It was 3pm on the 27th of September.

Most bar staff seemed alright, but barman was rude about ordering a pint of Guinness, said they didn’t have Coke Zero and walked away when I asked if they had Diet Coke, took extra time getting the ice and laughed with bar staff standing around in the back, charged £10 for a Guinness and Diet Coke. During the entire time the other barman served 3 pints to 3 customers. Rudest service I’ve had in Newcastle

If you time it right when not too busy with commuters and partiers it has a lush atmosphere. Thel breakfast both English and Scottish is yummy. Doesn't break the bank either.

Looking for some lunch - pop here - it doesn’t look much from the station but the warm welcome from staff and then the food - don’t go past. The only reason I marked it down one a was simply the table wasn’t clean - but to be fair to the staff they were busy Amazing value for money - excellent service - will definitely come back

Long standing venue, plenty of choice. Even though it was packed, Service was quick.

Lovely traditional pub in Central Station. For a station pub there is a lovely variety of local ales all served at reasonable prices. The interior itself is stunning, with beautiful decor. The only downside is the music being far too loud, making it difficult to have any kind of conversation.

End of night drink. Worth going to see amazing wall tiles.

Groovy bar at Newcastle station, Burmantoft tiles are stunning, beer is okay.

I was really surprised by the service. My partner asked if they did IPA on draught and was told no, asked if they happen to do IPA cans instead and firmly told no "I just said we don't do IPA". When he went to pay and said thanks, the barman just walked away. I was just so confused on why he was being rude and blunt with us. Wasn't an inviting place at all.

Breakfast was bad, all food was either over or under cooked. The mushrooms were hacked to death and seemed to be boiled? Very unpleasant. But the place is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. Little coffee place attached, where you need to order hot drinks separately (which is weird but no biggie) is lovely and the wee croissant given with the coffee was delicious.

It was the first time I had been in there and I found it a great visit ,Will go again the next time I am in Newcastle

Fantastic historic and atmospheric bar in Newcastle central station.

Former first class lounge of the station. Well worth a visit for the unique tiled decor. A meeting place for the folks of Newcastle, great Atmosphere especially at the weekend, food and drinks pretty good too.

A pub in the Central Station. Can be a bit cold but the architecture is interesting. Staff can be a bit disinterested but if all you want is a pint before or after a train ride then this is a good choice. There are better pubs not far away.

Our server had the personality of a soggy Kit Kat and the bar is looking really run down. The sticky tables and expensive pints mean we'll not be back.

The place is an experience. The decor with the tiling is breathtaking. Great beers range, good bar service.

We had a drink while waiting for the train. A largish venue with plenty of seating. A large bar with a decent choice of drinks to cater for everyone. Pleasant staff and quick to serve.

A very nice bar at the central station with plenty of seating and a good selection of pints on draft. The bar has wonderful decor and the customer service is very good. Unfortunately the pints were very expensive, over £6, but it's still a very decent bar and worth popping in for a visit.

Grand old pub that could tell some stories, only had a pint but service was quick for a Friday night.

Lovely old building and very convenient location. It's very rare to get a smile from the staff though. And the toilets are utterly disgusting. Every single time I go in it's horrible. It puts me off wanting to buy food.

Great watering hole, you feel safe and the atmosphere is pleasant, pint was £5.20 for Carlsberg, bit pricey but worth the setting, definitely worth a frequent if your a traveller

Just popped in for a quick pint. Great selection of beers, lagers, and wine. Canny staff too.

The live music was excellent when I visited, though the bar was massively let down by their two agency security men, who think its appropriate to approach every table every 3 or 4 minutes for the last 40 mins or so of business. We couldn't sit and enjoy a quiet pint without "20 minutes lads.." "15 minutes lads..", let it down massively.

We popped in on the way back from a visit to Newcastle I went to the bar and had to ask over and over again for three drinks I do speak the queen's English and it wasn't busy or noisy but we won't be going back as I don't like drinking out of a plastic glass two drinks they didn't have and what we paid for three drinks will definitely not be going again

Pub is beautiful and the first guy that served me was great but the customer service from the short, blonde young girl behind the bar today was nothing short of rude and inhospitable. Im a head chef so work in hospitality and kniw what goid customer service looks like. She was a rude disgrace that was only interested in flirting with another member of staff

Possibly one of the most grand looking places I have ever had the pleasure of drinking in. It may not be massive, and there may be the odd wonky bar stool, but the impressive architecture more than makes up for it. The beer was clean and well priced, a perfect place to wait for you train in.

I was here while waiting for a train to York. The service was quick and staff friendly. The bartender who served me was professional and provided great conversation about my upcoming trip.

Really good pub, we are local and often pop in. Great when live music is on and also good for live sport. Guinness there is a steady 6.5/10 but all the drinks are quite pricey. Stay for 1 and enjoy, stay for a few and you will notice the cost.

Bar so beautiful that it deserves your visit. It seems to be the old Victorian first class waiting room of Central Station. Staff very friendly. Friday afternoon and already pleasantly filled with people enjoying a drink and chat. Good place upon arrival in Newcastle to drink your first Newcastle Brown Ale.

Barman looked like he had just got out of bed.Scruffy t shirt. Not a pleasant charge for at all. Next time ask if we want ice in our drinks before pulling a face when we ask you to take some ice out of drink.

Ideal for grabbing a quick pint before your train. No food on, even though it says serving food all day and it was only 3pm!

On the plus side it's a beautiful room and obviously very convenient for the station. The beer was a bit expensive but given it's a prime city centre location, not unreasonably so. I had Ham, Egg and Chips and the Ham and Egg were fine. However the chips were some of the worst I have had in a long time. Hot, browned, artistically arranged and soggy. My guess is the oil wasn't hot enough. I'll go back for a drink and eat elsewhere.

Stood at the bar at 8pm, with no staff in sight. Got served by a grumpy barman, then paid nearly £6 for a pint that tasted like it needed a good line clean. Very disappointed.

Ok . Food order taken wrong. And brought with 10 min gap at breakfast so we ate alone

All very strange. No opening hours on website. Google states close time of 12 on a Friday. All street doors closed and station claims to close at 11! So no entry for me

The Centurion is a cavernous pub at Newcastle Central Station. It's a traditional, no-frills boozer with a historic vibe. On match days it shows sport on a big screen, so can be a decent place to meet friends or have a last drink before a train ride home.

The staff in the CC Hudsons eat and go need a good kick up the backside, 2 of the staff were standing chatting behind the counter when tables needed clearing and wiping, very limited interaction or exchanging of pleasantries. Only positive was that the coffee was nice

A traditional English pub with a good atmosphere 👌🏾. Staff are polite and friendly. The Centurion pud has some fantastic artistic features. You can sit and admire the craftsmanship. The toilets are clean and most of all the prices are not too bad.

Amazing building the tiles are though the pub had no music playing it was silent . Maybe great for some. Parking in the long stay in station v expensive.

Met up with friends. Had food & drinks. Food delicious. Staff great. Will definitely be back. We all had lite bites (4) and (1) had a scampi meal.

Un local únic dins de l'estació de tren de Newcastle. Tenen una oferta la qual consisteix en el fet que et serveixen un croissant petit per cada beguda calenta que et demanis fins a les 11 am. Qualitat preu força recomanable. Servei agradable i un local que t'impressiona un cop entres a dins. Consta d'una primera sala més petita i després una sala molt extensa amb una barra de bar i una decoració molt bonica.
