Staff great, however I found Milo quite intense

Cracking boozer. The landlady is top notch and I've been coming here for over a decade now. The only criticism I have, is that sometimes you come across some very rude staff members which can really kill the over all vibe if you're out trying to enjoy yourself with friends. I hope management can crack down on this before they lose regular punters.

Been going to this pub for 15years. It did used to be better, especially on Xmas and Ny eve, before noise complaints and they had to calm the place down, which is understandable. But still a great little pub with a cracking atmosphere. Karaoke, pool, not crazy cheap, but doesn't cost an arm and a leg either for the location. They actually have another huge beer garden 6X the size of the main one that they never seem to open which is odd because I'm sure they could pack it out. Seen it open just a couple of times during the summer, maybe this is again because of noise complaints from residents who bought a house next to a pub and then realised they were actually grumpy f****rs and instead of f*****g off decided to complain and ruin it for everyone. 4*s just because of how good it used to be compared to now. That being said, it's still a cracking boozer. Thanks for all the good night's over the years!

Lovely down to earth pub with a warm atmosphere and friendly staff. Also very immersive experience - I popped round back for a cheeky cig and a Tom cat named Mitchell milked me whilst I ran some laps on a giant hamster wheel. Good Sunday roast. One of my favourite places in Bristol, if not the entire world. Staff: 10/10 Atmosphere: 10/10 Fun: 20000/10 Good prices, pool, jukebox, excellent quiz, multiple gardens. Can't beat it.

Good student deals for pints. The beer garden is great, nice and big and divided into sections so it's not too loud.

Present place, rather not for me but me and my mate enjoyed a random check out and the lady at the bar was super friendly. + they love dogs too

Great location, very sizeable beer garden with TVs and heaters! Lively atmosphere and karaoke on Thursdays is a good laugh. A few pints under £5 which is decent but can be quite studenty.

A group of 8 of us (students) came here at 11pm on a Tuesday evening after having a lovely dinner elsewhere for a friend’s 21st birthday. When we arrived at the pub, it was practically empty, with the only customers being non-students. This pub professes to be a cool and fun pub for students, and on friday-Saturday is usually pretty rammed. However, on a Tuesday this is not the case. We went because most other pubs shut at 11, and we wanted a pint or two to end the night. Upon arriving, 4 of us (girls) went to the toilets whilst the others bought a pint each (bar one boy, who does not drink alcohol). When we got to the bar, we were met by the landlord (bald short man), who was telling our sober friend that he had to buy a drink, or he could not sit with his friends, in a practically empty pub; one hour before close. Obviously we were all stunned, having never heard such a bizarre thing by someone working in hospitality. When my friend (female) tried to get the landlord to expand upon this, he replied in a very condescending, irritated and irrational manner; essentially being very rude to a PAYING CUSTOMER. We told the landlord that everyone except our sober friend would buy a drink shortly, and that we just wanted to get settled first (having had a big dinner shortly prior), but he disregarded this quickly - we HAD to buy something as soon as we set foot in the pub, or we had to leave. The birthday girl did say that some people may not want to buy a drink at all, or get one after sitting for a bit, and mentioned that a lot of students (and others) may not be able to afford drinks out (cost of living crisis etc), to which he replied “well you just should stay at home then if you can’t buy anything when your friends go out”. Sorry????? That is the weakest, most unsympathetic, ignorant, and frankly unoriginal response and is laughable - We have come into your EMPTY pub, sat by the window by a busy road - we could have brought in a few students at the end of the night by advertising that students were actually there. We told him that everything he was saying was ridiculous and unsubstantiated, but he was a brick wall - repeatedly telling us that his pub was “not a youth club”, and that people buy things in pubs to keep the facilities open. If this narrow minded man would have been SLIGHTLY more welcoming, our sober friend would have bought a soft drink, and the remaining ‘customers’ would have paid for one or two pints EACH - we would have given him our business. This man’s logic is entirely flawed: he said that he would’ve been happy if the rest of us had got a half pint of lemonade each, instead of waiting 10 minutes and then getting a £5 pint. It is apparent that this man has 0 manners and no respect for PAYING CUSTOMERS. Also the toilets are grim. Thank you for making my friend sit outside with her pint - what a lovely way to end a 21st birthday!

By far the worst pub in Bristol. Bald-headed manager bloke was exceptionally rude to my friends, questioning our reason to be in there, asserting that we were only there to use the pool table, demanding that was bought a drink within 3 seconds or threatening to kick us out, refusing to give us our food back, seems to hate young people saying ‘it’s not a youth club’ despite the fact cat and wheel makes all its money from students pahah, condescending our entire group from the start. Also called us ‘too poor to be in a pub’. Piped down when it was given back to him lol

Very upset and disappointed with my experience here last night! Brought a few friends to the pub to celebrate my 21st birthday. A few of us had bought drinks when one of my friends was asked what he wanted and he responded that he was just going to wait a bit before getting anything. The response from who I believe is the manager was extremely hostile stating that he could not stay without purchasing anything immediately even though 7 out of the 8 of us in the pub were buying drinks. Considering the current cost of living crisis as well as being students I cannot believe the lack of empathy from this man who when I explained that it was my birthday and that I just wanted to spend some time with my friends responded that my friend should have have come out with us if he could not afford to buy a drink. I have never experienced this kind of attitude in a pub ever… when I myself have been out elsewhere with friends and not been able to afford a drink the staff do not even question such a sensitive topic as struggling with money. Anyway, not wanted to leave our friend waiting outside by himself, we left taking our drinks in cups. Honestly having to sit and drink my pint in a plastic cup in a bus stop really put a dampener of what should have been a great birthday! It wasn’t even busy in the pub and by us leaving you missed out on business anyway so I hope you think twice before doing this to someone else.

At one point everyone in the pub got up and started singing along to Sweet Caroline. Ew.

Had an awful experience here, the manager made me feel really uncomfortable here tonight, aswell as all of my friends. We were all up for a nice evening and all he did was made us feel uncomfortable and I honestly cannot believe his behaviour, I can’t believe someone like him works here it’s appalling and I’m never going back again. He ruined my friends 21st birthday, and I need to add we did nothing, he had a issue with us the minute we walked in because 1/8 of us didn’t buy a drink because he’s quit drinking but doesn’t want to miss a friends birthday. I really hope this man (bald man) is told never to treat people like this again or if not is fired. Disappointed as thought it could be fun.

Good atmosphere, just shame toilets are not good condition

It's a pub. Not a gastropub, not a restaurant, not a takeaway.. IT'S A PUB. OLD SKOOL PUB. With music at weekends. Go somewhere else if you're hungry.

A fun place with darts and pool and karaoke. Good value, filled with locals but don't go if you're expecting a high class, gastro pub!

Sunday night Karaoke is the way forward...and a quality little snuggy cig area with some great locals. The guy who either runs or owns the bar is a top top swanky dude too.

Went out to Cat & Wheel on Friday and have to say it is such a fun night. The atmosphere is great & I have to say a special mention to the manager Ziggi. He was so accommodating the whole night & you could tell by the extra thought he put into everything that he genuinely loves his job. We will certainly be returning very soon. Lovely place to have a good time and enjoy a few drinks, whether with some friends or by one's self, the space is laid out nicely, there are music machines, darts and even pool. The staff is friendly and caters well to the customer's needs. Definitely recommend this pub for all ages 18+, will be visiting again soon!

Excellent Wickwar pub, with down to earth attitude

You can't really turn your nose up at free pool! It's a nice pub, there's one of those machines where you can do the quizes and all that which is a bit of fun so that's nice.

A super fun pub with live music and friendly people. The staff there are what makes it one my favourite spots in town. Super helpful, always up for a chat and very welcoming. I lost my purse there and they returned it 3 days later with everything inside intact! It feels great to go out to unwind knowing you're safe.

It's a classic boozer. Bar, games, outside smoking. Not the nicest of pubs to go along to, but still somewhere you want to sling into for a few bevs on your way to anywhere.

Took 30 minutes after we had been seated to finially get served and during this wait we were left with the pervious punters spilt drinks and empty glasses all on our table.

Great pub good beer, lovely staff and great live music at the weekends. Plus there's a garden and they stock Malbec. Best pub around.

Show sports and good selection of drinks. It was very busy and lots of people weren't socially distancing which was really sad. Obviously I don't blame this on the pub but it's worth noting.

A traditional yet casual pub, set in vibrant hub of Gloucester within the shadow of the arches. There is a very spacious and pleasant beer garden, which is particularly welcome during these strange yet sunny times. The staff are equally always welcoming and accomodating whilst selling a typical selection of alcoholic and soft drinks alongside your typical bar snacks. Always an enjoyable evening and a definite recommendation for anyone in the area.

Bartenders were drunk and insulting. Despicable. I spend a lot of time in this area, this was without a doubt, my worst pub experience. She mocked me for my politeness. I approached with a smile, I left with a scowl.

Ridiculously loud til 12:30 on weekdays and 2:30 on weekends. Not sure how they’re allowed to have people shouting drunk in their beer gardens until so late. Feel sorry for the poor neighbours. It’s not even a good pub. Surprised multiple noise complaints haven’t been filed. Dingy, lack of atmosphere, 10/10 would not return.

Absolutely love this place. Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is always welcoming. It's a brilliant spot for a quiet drink or a great spot for a bit of karaoke or live music
