We highly rate The Cafe Terrace, having been going here for a number of years. Our go to food is either to wonderful Full English Breakfasts or Sausage and bacon, or bacon and Brie baguettes. The cafe serves a wide range of sandwiches and food. Tim and his team are always happy and cheerful. We go to the cafe as a family, but also breakfast business meetings too. I can’t rate the cafe highly enough - by far the best in Hook.

So welcoming and hospitable! Had a power cut at home, phoned up to reserve a table and Tim had set it all up by the time I arrived. Awesome coffee as is the food! Huge kudos to Tim, his wife and the team! Life savers!

I used to love this cafe. Now it is so expensive. Today I popped in for a plain beef roll. I didn’t want any salad. It’s not a massive roll and the butter is a very average spread from a large tub. The beef is pre-sliced from a supermarket, nice, but nothing special. They charged me £3.70 When i started my surprise the staff spoke to each other under their breaths in a foreign language (rude behaviour) and told me that was the price. Never going here again. They have lost my business through pure greed.

This place is not cheap for a lunch time sandwich. I ordered ham salad sandwich on white bread when it came it was on brown bread. So, I took it back and asked if they could change it and the pay looked at me as if it was my fault! No apology and they did make me another one but it looked as if it had been thrown in bag. When this place first opened it was brilliant (When Annie owned it) but not now it has cheap food and a very rude owner (Tim?) who I have never seen smile at his customers. I used this place 3 times a week but I will never be going back again!

I had to get some work done to my car and needed to kill an hour. Walked and found The Cafe Terrace in the village centre. Great cafe menu and good options - green tea etc - but opted for a benchmark cup of tea to wash down a lovely cheese and onion toasted sandwich on brown bread - just perfect.....recommendation of pepper really added. If you want a snack or light meal in Hook - this venue is perfect M-F 07:00 to 15:00 and Saturday when I visited in the morning. Great stuff guys!

My work colleagues and I have taken on some over time at work so we wanted a quick affordable breakfast to take away. The baps and Baguettes are incredible! the meat is all fresh and sorced from local butchers (i am fussy with meat so i asked before hand) so i took the chance and the quality is 10/10! no processed cheap meat from icelands frozen etc. speedy, friendly service. only down side - on the door it says only open monday-friday!!!!! its saturday and its open!!!! need to make people aware youre open weekends as you are losing out because the food really is amazing. will definitely be back here :)

This café is excellent for tea, coffee and snacks, run by a very friendly man who enjoys a chat and a bit of banter. The espressos and bacon rolls are both excellent. A good sign is that it has many regulars. It is also excellent for lunches and opens at 7am during the week, a definite bonus for the early riser.

I began visiting the cafe when i started a new job last year. It was nice to find somewhere walking distance from my office where i could order something fresh and sit and read my book in my lunch hour. They have a selection of fillings fresh under the counter to make a sandwich or roll just the way you like, but also offer salads, jacket potatoes, toasted tea cakes, coffees, cakes etc. The staff are always really friendly and the place is kept clean tidy. Every time i visit the place is busy, but a lot of people order food to take away so you can still sit inside without feeling cramped. There is car parking right outside as well. A nice little find and mini escape from the office, and much better than grabbing food from the local supermarket.

I feel torn writing this review.Hook is an unprepossessing large village / small town and this is our only coffeeshop. The manager / owner is Tim, who is friendly. The coffeeshop is in the middle of a small parade of shops with parking that is in bad need of totally re-surfacing (The owner of the shops and parking needs a swift kick in the patootie but that's not the fault of the shops themselves). They've placed a flat-screen TV in the window, which contains announcements of local news.As for the coffee, it's great. Served promptly too.Just somehow it lacks a bit of atmosphere. I badly want to rate this five stars but I can't yet I feel there's nothing stopping The Cafe Terrace getting to a five star rating if they added a certain je-ne-sais-quoi to the place. And perhaps, a slightly wider selection of snacks.Having written this, I am going to pop in to see Tim in the next few days to discuss it. There are about six coffeeshops in the next village and I am sure if he took a couple of hours to look around them and saw decor and so on he'd be at a five star rating promptly.

Regular weekly lunch for two. Owners very friendly and food fresh tasty and well served. They now know us well enough to know or order each week. For the critics it is not a five star restaurant it is a cafe serving good quality and fresh sandwiches, salads and baked potatoes. Coffee also good. Can't see an issue with the decor, first it is a cafe and secondly is clean and I don't go there for the scenery go there for the food.Keep up the good work guys and girls

Our first visit as fairly new to the area. Very welcoming, friendly, helpful staff. Enjoyed looking at the cars as it was a Motor fest event. Food was lovely, my husband had the pie of the day and I enjoyed roast beef. Will definitely be returning. Great country location near the Basingstoke canal.
