The Cafe in Newcastle upon Tyne

This cafe is a great little find! Delicious breakfast with a warm welcome and really reasonable prices. The Stacked Muffin and BLT were delicious 😊

We arrived and the place was packed which was promising. Unfortunately there were no tables that were clean. We were sat at the middle tables which were joined to 2 each side, so we basically had breakfast with 2 other couples. The table was dirty even after it was “cleaned”. There was a bucket of cutlery in the middle of the table which had congealed food on them and god only knows how many people had touched them. I had to ask for my drink as it did not arrive. I then got no sugar or milk with it,again had to go and ask. My breakfast came and was missing items. The staff seemed like they didn’t know where to be and were looking stressed. It wasn’t a big establishment and didn’t have a huge menu. I think there are too many tables and the middle ones need to go. It was very cramped and it was very much self service. I wouldn’t return.

The best cafe in the Quayside area of Newcastle and possibly the best in the Toon. Definitely great food and in all the years we have been going, we have NEVER been disappointed. The breakfast's are a particular recommendation 😋. Although Queens cafe is small don't be put off if it looks full as there is additional seating downstairs. It's clean & comfortable and the staff are always friendly & hospitable. All in all, a proper cafe, serving good food!

Found this on a Google search for dog friendly cafes and it was just that... Dog friendly not people friendly! Various staff had seen me wait for a table while other people entered and went straight to counter. A lovely young chap offered me his table when he finished as he seen me wait for around 10 mins, just as I sat down a very rude young female came over and told me I couldn't sit down before ordering food. I informed her that I was in before any of those other people and she shrugged her shoulders at me. So I struggled back to my feet and stood back up with my crutches. One of the young men who came in after me, gave me his table and said he would sit outside. The lass at the counter spoke to the male behind the counter and this male came out and spoke to the man at the table behind me, moved him to another table, ran outside and brought the young man back inside, looked at me as he went past. I felt awful. They're were no notices which stated order food prior to sitting, otherwise I would have done so. Respect costs nothing. I honestly wish I had coloured my gut at that point and walked away. First and last visit.

My wife and I had breakfast here last Sunday morning and thoroughly enjoy the experience. On arrival we were lucky to find the only table available beside the door, under the radio so we named it the disco table. Service was friendly and efficient and we quickly had our Belly Buster breakfast in front on us. It was good value for money, even with the slice of black pudding being the slimmest I’ve ever encountered. The Queens Cafe is a good honest cafe, with no air and grace. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for breakfast down near the Quayside.

Could not ask for a nicer breakfast. Lovely feeling in the cafe. In a world of pretentiousness, this place brings you back to how things should be. Will be back soon.

Absolutely bob on, no pretentiousness, just great food served by lovely ladies, clearly proud of what they are serving. As a veggie it was excellent, my wife loved the Queen breakfast.

Had a great breakfast (try the breakfast bun) served quickly despite a busy morning. Accidentally left my wallet behind and when I returned (in a cold sweat - I’m a tourist and all my cards were inside) the staff had found it and kept it for me. Thanks for your honesty, guys, it meant a lot!

This cafe is in a perfect, and accessible location. We benefitted from excellent friendly service. The food was great and surprisingly inexpensive.

Small, friendly, clean, Victorian type cafe close to the quayside. Very large menu, service quick. I had the stacked muffins with bacon, black pudding, mushrooms, poached eggs. Was lovely. Would recommend.

Brilliant wee cafe with welcoming staff. Tiny but fantastic food and drinks at very good prices! If in the area don’t miss out. I had a mushroom omelette and it was GORGEOUS and my husband had poached eggs that were devine. Washed down with lattes and only £12! Well worth stopping in.

Been visiting this establishment for years when I visit friends in Newcastle. Classic greasy spoon menu at ridiculously cheap prices. Service is usually excellent but I’ve seen it manic busy so expect a little wait if in big groups which I usually am. Again, great value for money and classic hangover cure if you’re on the quay

El Quay Ingredient obtiene toda la prensa y elogios en este rincón oscuro debajo del puente Tyne. Se encuentra en un gran rincón similar al Flat Iron en Nueva York. Cocinado para pedir comida por las damas detrás del mostrador. Este es un servicio antiguo en el que el personal está encantado de conversar contigo y de conocerte. la comida es buena, solo he estado aquí para el desayuno, pero siempre ha sido encantador. Un entorno increíble también debajo del arco del lado norte del puente Tyne y me recuerda mucho a la experiencia de un café de los años 70 con sus botellas de salsa de tomate sqeezy en forma de tomate y para salsa marrón, HP, por supuesto. Called in before an interview. This was my first time in the cafe and I was greeted by friendly staff who found me a good seat to get into the zone for my interview. They put me at ease. I sat in the corner with my little pot of tea. Ready to take on the world. The place itself was decorated well and in the perfect location, under the Tyne Bridge. Could be bigger but I think the size adds to its charm.

This cute little venue offers a great variety of breakfast options, despite the overall size of the cafe. It was just a delightful atmosphere with 3 ladies working together in sync, creating delicious made-to-order breakfast entrees. It was an easy walk from our hotel in Gateshead, just across the bridge and a few blocks away.

We hunted for ages trying to find a breakfast cafe early morning. Nothing open but then we found Queen’s. Lovely warm welcome and great breakfast. Tea enough for a party!

As stated, can’t go wrong with a full English breakfast for £4. We will be back again and again! Typical British cafe style order at the till venue. Loved it

Popped into my favourite cafe on visits to Newcastle and yet again not disappointed I had the eggs Benedict by far the best I've ever had John and Jane the proprietors and their fantastic staff always make you feel welcome I can't recommend it highly enough

Weekend visit to Newcastle for the races saw us visiting queens cafe both mornings for excellent food so cheap and nice interior , staff very helpful and nothing any trouble £12 for 2 big cooked breakfasts , big pot of tea for 2 and a coke ( the price of one breakfast via my hotel ) , will defo be returning on my next visit too the toon :)

Fabulous brunch - best coffee and hot, tasty food. We had Omelette, Eggs Benedict, toast, coffee and juice. Would definitely recommend here as reasonably priced and food lovely and hot. Empty plates all round!

Stumbled across this place whilst wondering round Newcastle. Staff were really kind and friendly and even got a sausage for our dog whilst we had breakfast. Food was lovely and good coffee too. Can't fault this place. 10/10

I went for breakfast this morning with my partner and his colleagues. The menu choices are fantastic - suitable for non-vegetarians, too which is a bonus. I opted for the full english breakfast which was filling and satisfying. Other choices included Eggs Benedict, stacked muffins, scrambled eggs on toast, omelettes, hot sandwiches (bacon / sausage) etc.

Found this by accident whilst roaming aimlessly. Friendly staff lovely atmosphere, good food/coffee at a good price.

Great little cafe, near the Quayside. Good selection of cooked breakfast rolls/full breakfasts/Porridge/toast and jam. Lovely tea in pots. Good selection of sandwiches too, all outstanding value. Worth finding, you'll save yourself money when you do.

After reading the fantastic reviews we called in for breakfast on tuesday, and it lived up to the reviews, the staff were lovely, and friendly, the food great, cheap and hot, my husband told the lady serving us how lovely the honey was that he had with his porridge and when she said she'd brought it in from her own bee's, I believed her, till she started laughing haha. great, comfortable place, we will be back, many times

Teniendo en cuenta que el lugar es bastante pequeño, hicimos todo lo posible para tratar de no estorbar a nadie o bloquear cualquier existencia. Cuando tomamos un trago de nuestras botellas de agua, nos dijeron que no podíamos, ya que solo se permitían las bebidas que se compraban en el café, lo aprecio, pero la mujer fue muy grosera al respecto y nos hizo sentir muy incómodos, si no lo hubiéramos hecho Ya ordenamos nuestra comida nos hubiéramos ido. La comida estaba bien, pero el personal era muy grosero y poco acogedor.
