This is a small and very busy cafe where food is cooked to order. We went on a match day where they were busy and let us know that, but food arrived promptly and nice and warm. The staff are lovely and polite and found the time to banter. A lively brunch, thanks.

Food really slow to arrive. Tepid and overdone. It takes an effort to turn mushrooms into pieces of black leather but they managed it. Large portions of tepid food. And the tea was nice.

Outrageous, do not go here, 33 years old and have never experienced being shouted at or the level of disrespect as a customer in my entire life anywhere. Started off by asking if we could get an additional chair, the man (who was apparently the manager) said he’d get me one but after 5-10mins it hadn’t materialised, so I asked again and was told to get my own. Fine, fair enough and didn’t think much more about it. I then went to order and as there was a few good sounding options, asked for what the manager would recommend. He told me to read the menu and no swaps were allowed and scoffed when I asked for a sausage instead of black pudding. At this point I started to think he had a bit of an attitude problem and sensed this underlying issue. My friends poached eggs and avocado arrived however where on the menu it said sourdough, it definitely wasn’t and when it was queried, was told there is none. She then had no cutlery to eat and again when we prompted for some, was met with some attitude and a wait to get any. The rest of our food then arrived and I’d ordered eggs Benedict. I started on one half and went to pop the second but realised there was no yolk at all in one of the eggs so decided to point this out and ask for another egg on the side. Was told I’d get it right away however I carried on eating and the egg didn’t appear. I then chased it up about 5 mins later with a separate girl and she said she’d come back but I saw her start on doing something else entirely. At this point I was very disappointed with the whole experience however things took a turn for the worse when I went up to the counter to chase up and speak to the girl. Immediately she turned on me, started shouting unprovoked by me and told me I’d already eaten the egg and couldn’t complain now. This was a blatant lie as I hadn’t and had shown the manager early on there was no yolk in the egg. I’ve never been spoken to by anyone the way this girl did. She was angry and nasty and shouldn’t be employed in a customer facing role. Someone else had to take over and said she’d speak to the manager. He then swiftly arrived and said he’d bring the egg over but by this point it wasn’t redeemable in any way. I pointed out how rude the girl had been and how shocking the service is just received was and he didn’t care at all advising they were busy and I’d been “nitpicking”. In fact it was the opposite and just asking for basics like cutlery… He then suggested I sit down, finish my food and leave. Basic food and diabolical service. Unfortunately this was my first experience of Newcastle and I’ve only ever heard people are supposed to be so friendly there however sadly the staff at this establishment are letting you down, Newcastle.

On ordering coffee, priced on the board above the till at £3.00, I was charged £4.40. When I challenged this I was shown a paper menu where the price was £4.40. I was then presented with a cup of weak, undrinkable instant coffee. I did relay this information back to the staff, who made no attempt to rectify the problem. As my first time in the city of Newcastle, I feel very disappointed and quite frankly ripped off and will be feeding this information back to the industry.

We arrived and the place was packed which was promising. Unfortunately there were no tables that were clean. We were sat at the middle tables which were joined to 2 each side, so we basically had breakfast with 2 other couples. The table was dirty even after it was “cleaned”. There was a bucket of cutlery in the middle of the table which had congealed food on them and god only knows how many people had touched them. I had to ask for my drink as it did not arrive. I then got no sugar or milk with it,again had to go and ask. My breakfast came and was missing items. The staff seemed like they didn’t know where to be and were looking stressed. It wasn’t a big establishment and didn’t have a huge menu. I think there are too many tables and the middle ones need to go. It was very cramped and it was very much self service. I wouldn’t return.

Found this on a Google search for dog friendly cafes and it was just that... Dog friendly not people friendly! Various staff had seen me wait for a table while other people entered and went straight to counter. A lovely young chap offered me his table when he finished as he seen me wait for around 10 mins, just as I sat down a very rude young female came over and told me I couldn't sit down before ordering food. I informed her that I was in before any of those other people and she shrugged her shoulders at me. So I struggled back to my feet and stood back up with my crutches. One of the young men who came in after me, gave me his table and said he would sit outside. The lass at the counter spoke to the male behind the counter and this male came out and spoke to the man at the table behind me, moved him to another table, ran outside and brought the young man back inside, looked at me as he went past. I felt awful. They're were no notices which stated order food prior to sitting, otherwise I would have done so. Respect costs nothing. I honestly wish I had coloured my gut at that point and walked away. First and last visit.

My wife and I had breakfast here last Sunday morning and thoroughly enjoy the experience. On arrival we were lucky to find the only table available beside the door, under the radio so we named it the disco table. Service was friendly and efficient and we quickly had our Belly Buster breakfast in front on us. It was good value for money, even with the slice of black pudding being the slimmest I’ve ever encountered. The Queens Cafe is a good honest cafe, with no air and grace. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for breakfast down near the Quayside.

Great little cafe serving a good selection of food at reasonable prices. Stacked muffin was lovely. Nice friendly staff as well

Called in before an interview. This was my first time in the cafe and I was greeted by friendly staff who found me a good seat to get into the zone for my interview. They put me at ease. I sat in the corner with my little pot of tea. Ready to take on the world. The place itself was decorated well and in the perfect location, under the Tyne Bridge. Could be bigger but I think the size adds to its charm.

This cute little venue offers a great variety of breakfast options, despite the overall size of the cafe. It was just a delightful atmosphere with 3 ladies working together in sync, creating delicious made-to-order breakfast entrees. It was an easy walk from our hotel in Gateshead, just across the bridge and a few blocks away.

We hunted for ages trying to find a breakfast cafe early morning. Nothing open but then we found Queen’s. Lovely warm welcome and great breakfast. Tea enough for a party!

Found this little gem walking back from the quayside. Food is great and amazingly priced, staff are very nice and it’s dog friendly. Will definitely be back when next in Newcastle.

Beautiful large traybakes, huge and very scrumptious, which I got boxed and took home. Beautiful architecture and atmosphere in this old church. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Definitely will be back to sit in and try the all day breakfast menu.

In my opinion, this is the best cat café in Newcastle. The cats are well-behaved, well-cared for, and the tea is delicious. The only downside for me is that the interior feels a bit too bare—not very cozy and lacking in enrichment for the cats.

Great vibes, beers are okay. Certainly a date night venue.
