fantastic food would go again for sure ,we did find the table up the steps to the left a bit dingy we had to use torch on phone to read menu

Shocking food tonight. Ordered steak with peppercorn sauce. I think I had one mouthful of nice steak, the rest was fat. The peppercorn sauce didn’t taste like peppercorn at all. I complained and sent the sauce back only to be told that is how she makes it. Very poor and disappointing.

I am genuinely obsessed with this place! I’ve been twice in as many weeks and I live a good 40 minutes drive away. This place serves up some of the most amazing Thai food I’ve ever eaten. I’m pretty well travelled (including Asia) and have eaten in so many Thai restaurants in Leeds and London, and none of them even come close. The food is insanely authentic and the price is fantastic. Two weeks ago, 5 of us visited and we all had starters, mains and sides with a round of drinks. The bill was £115. On Mother’s Day, 3 of us visited and we ordered 5 starters to all share, a main each with sides, desserts and a round of drinks. This bill was £77! I cannot wait to go back again. I almost don’t want to tell people about this place, and keep it a secret lol

Called in for a a couple of drinks and a bite to eat to round the evening off. Was not disappointed. The food is to die for and the portion sizes are more than generous. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The manager Carla was great and we had a fantastic evening.

First visit and won't be the last. Great staff great atmosphere. Amazing food the value an portion size of the Mixed Grill all freshly cooked n delicious 😋

After frequenting this establishment for decades , tonight will be the last time . Ordered medium to well done steak , it was like boot leather with lots of gristle. My partners mixed grill was mostly well done when he asked for well done gammon only . I have to be fair & say everything else on the plate was nice . We did have to wait unusually long for the food to arrive too although it wasn’t busy 🤷‍♀️ My complaint wasn’t acknowledged therefore I won’t be back !

Fantastic food on our late afternoon visit. A warm(ish) welcome when we saw all tables had a reserved sign, Managed to fit us in though and so glad they did. High quality Thai at very reasonable prices. Fantastic starters "wait till you taste the mains" the server told us. He was so right. My main was subtle with hints of ginger and chilli and super tender pork. My better halves minced pork salad was at first tasty then fiery in that wonderful Thai way.. Jasmine rice accompaniment was a very pleasant relief. Together with the attentive service made for a perfect meal out.

We met a friend for Sunday lunch and everything from the food, service and price were brilliant. There was a choice of Thai and English food, which included Sunday roast. The spring rolls for starters were crispy and tasty. I opted for Sunday roast for my main course, with a choice of 3 meats, roast potatoes, new potatoes, yorkshire pudding and veg with lashings of gravy, excellent value at £8.95. We will definitely be back!

We called here before going into Halifax, We had some tapas nibbles . Food is amazing. staff were friendly

Love this place we go as a family as much as we can the food is fantastic, surroundings lovely and we are always made to feel very welcome .The Thai food is outstanding 10 out fo 10 .

Our first visit for a long time and was very pleased with the quality food served by lovely staff at a very reasonable prices. Very busy with lovely friendly atmosphere and will be back to try the Thai menu which smelt and looked delicious whilst been served.

Well what a terrible experience this was. I went with a friend, and after quite a lengthy wait at the bar I was able to order a starter and a main course from the menu for the both of us. I chose salt and pepper ribs as a starter and a Prawn Jungle Curry as a main course. My friend also ordered a starter and main course. After about 20 minutes the starters arrived which were very accepatable and as descibed on the menu. After another 20 mins or so the main course arrived and this is where the problem starts. My jungle curry came as a chicken one which I thought, ah well perhaps the staff had misheard my order but I fail to see how they could have done given the diffrence in the pronounciation of chicken and prawn. But I was okay to eat the chicken. I did at this point relaise that I had forgotten to order rice to acccompany my main course so I went back to the bar and ordered sticky rice. After 15 mins my rice hadn't arrived, so I again went back and asked where my rice was.. The reaction from the staff was "what has it not arrived I ll chase it up for you". I returned to my table and awaited the rice. After 10 mins the rice arrived. I decanted it from its container only to find the rice was solid. So solid in fact that I was only able to cut through it with a knife. My fork was able to be stood up in it. It was totally overcooked and inedible. I again went to the bar and raised my discontent with the rice. I received an apology and was told that my rice would be replaced. I again returned to my now going cold curry and after about a further 10 mins my rice arrived. Again it was vastly overcooked and inedible. I agin returned to the bar where i attemped to speak to the owner of the establishment but he was busy. I went back to my table and decided to attempt to eat the curry without the rice as I had given up on getting a decent portion of rice. Within 5 minutes the owner came to our table and asked what the issue was. I explained the issues that I had encountered explaining that I had eaten sticky rice on many occasions and had eaten the same on visits to Thailand. I demontrated the consistency of the rice on my plate but he was of the opinion that it was edible and aslked do I want the chicken curry re- heating. I have a background in food hygiene and stated that I didn't think that would be appropriate. He asked what I wanted . I stated that I wanted what I had ordered that being a prawn jungle curry with sticky rice that was edible. He the left and moments later one of the waiting staff attended our table and asked would I like boiled rice instead. I accepted the offer and a short while later she returned witn a prawn jungle curry with boiled rice which was perfectly edible. In summary I must add that this is by far and away the worst dining experience that I have encountered by and I will never return to this establishment. Be advised

Ten of us from work went for tea on a Monday Evening. We were booked in at six. After about half an hour a man came over to the table and announced that they were very busy so as there were ten of us ....... We therefore assumed we were in for a bit of a wait. We weren’t wrong. The order was taken at 6.55pm and the food arrived just after half past seven. (Up to 7pm I could only see two couples eating, it certainly didn’t look busy.) The food was hot and there was plenty of it...I don’t like eating late, hence agreeing to go at six. Four stars had we not had to wait.

My wife had been here before with friends and said how good the food was, so we called on Tuesday evening for a meal just the two of us. The revolving door entrance is quite quirky and unusual, the bar itself is welcoming with normal tables and high seated tables. There are plenty of photos of golfers around the walls. There were a few people in, both just drinking and eating. We waited for the barman to finish serving someone and ordered drinks, we took menus, which were laid out on the bar, to a table and looked them over. There were also blackboards with specials on, I choose one of these specials, meat sizzler with chips and my wife choose the gammon. We ordered spring rolls starters that were very nice with sweet chilli dips. They got my order a little wrong bringing rice instead of chips which they corrected very quickly, my food was delicious, small strips of meat with vegetables in a spicy medium thick sauce. My wife`s gammon came on a huge plate with chips, mushrooms, egg, onion rings and vegetables, she didn`t manage to eat it all. Overall it was a really enjoyable meal.£40 for two courses and three drinks, very good value.

We ate here in March 2019. The meals where very tasty and the portions where very generous. The music that was playing was quite intrusive or maybe I am getting old. The staff where very helpful.

Came here with sister and dad for lunch. Nice and quiet and Ryan the bar manager was very friendly and happy to engage in a little banter. Lasagne was excellent and my sister and dad raves about the meat and potato pie. Well priced food. Great front of house staff and pleasant afternoon in the pub.

Visited the caddy shack a couple of times and while it’s a nice place and local, I do find the owner very unfriendly and rude, and has a dog sat at the bar on a chair with a notice saying do not touch the dog!! What is that all about, he sits at the bar all day drinking while staff and I presume his wife are working, I wonder who drives his car Home at night!!

Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and a meat and tatie pie that was as good as I'd make!. Will be back.

Brought my sister and dad here as we were in the area. ACE! food was lovely, real home cooked meat and tatie pie. My sisters lasagne was gorgeous too... Ryan the bar manager was knowledgeable and engaged in some great banter with us. What a gem of a place who's front of house makes it even better. Will be back! Sorry Ryan.

I was really looking forward to trying this place out!Unfortunately the wind was taken from my sails very quickly indeed.The drinks are expensive,for what they are and how they are served.Thai is by far my favourite cuisine,and I always judge a Thai on its Laab salad,if the Laab salad is good,you can bet your bottom dollar the rest of the meal would be superb.However the Laab salad was of a very poor standard.The pork was in large chunks rather than minced,I had asked for extra fresh chilli(the waitress assured me it was fresh,it wasn't!)and got chilli flakes!It was also swimming in liquid,which simply made the lettuce just wilt and go soggy.I had the duck in tamarind sauce for main,very boring colours on the sizzling platter.Also the egg noodles were served up with no imagination at all,just noodles on a plate!I certainly won't be returning.

Myself and a colleague called in for lunch and a drink after work on Sunday 11th November I had a Thai dish (No 40 I think with beef). It came with peppers onions and very hot chilli's I also had a side dish of egg noodles, Tracy had yellow curry and plain rice. Tracy also had a sweet at the end, well it was kind of our little pre-Xmas treat! The food was excellent, though mine made my eyes water towards the end!!! The place is comfortable and the staff in the main very friendly and helpful... It was a shame that the inevitable TV's were impossible to avoid and football accompanied what was a perfectly lovely experience otherwise... I had 2 pints of overpriced Shipyard beer and Tracy had her second choice of Gin, the one she really wanted had sold out!! Overall the food was great, the location OK and the drinks a little pricey... But well worth a visit for the Thai food alone... There is also a traditional menu serving Sunday lunch and other pub fare... We spent £20 each including tip... all in all despite overpriced drinks not too bad for a pleasant couple of hours.

The food was lovely, the atmosphere very noisy, price reasonable, service slow, furnishings a bit worn.

We were looking for some lunch near Elland and did the Google thing which came up with the usual list. We chose the "Barge and Barrel", didnt even consider looking further into the Caddyshack because its name didnt appeal. Unfortunately the other pub is under new management and not doing food but they recommended the Caddyshack as the best food cooked fresh in the area. We were amazed to find a very smart wine bar type of set up (not a sports bar as I imagined) with a good menu of both standard pub food at reasonable prices AND a comprehensive Thai menu, apparently the chef is thai, they do takeaway as well. We had been advised everything was cooked fresh and there was a mini rush when we went in so waited about 20 minutes. There was a good handpulled beer on the bar for the other half so the wait went quickly. The food was delicious, we both chose Thai for a change, he had a yellow chicken curry (no31) with a portion of fried rice and I had fried rice with prawns. The curry had a zing without being over hot and the rice was delicious with really big prawns and extra chillies if you wanted it hot, we ate every scrap. I had a soft drink and with his pint the bill came to a tad over £20.Chatting to our neighbours who were regulars, the pub grub was good, especially the lasagne. If we are in the area we'll make a point of visiting again. How they cope with a full house I dont know, waits may get too much?. Pleasant chatty service, nice atmosphere. Its advertises a 19th hole , bar downstairs?? but wasnt open and didnt persue it.

Went for lunch today , bit concerned as had seen negative review but past visits were always positive .

Called in for burgers tea time, with my daughter. I ordered a chilli burger my daughter ordered a bunker burger. Pint of san Miguel and a pint of coke no ice. £18:80. Burgers came, not real chips this time round soggy greasy fries instead mine had hair in it. Burgers identical with tired bit of salad next to it. Now a dipping sauce defines what burger you order. I was expecting a dollop of chilli on my burger not a chilli sauce on the side. Daughters burger bbq sauce.,bog standard burger. Not the same chef. Cooking. To be turning this pap out. Put price up a pound and take the quality away! I ordered another coke and said I would pay for it as I leave. Well that came to £3 for a coke. Ffs he would happily have charged me that price for half a coke if let him put ice in it. Asked me hope you enjoyed the burgers, to witch I replied no absolutely awful , left and will never be setting foot in that lacklustre joint again. Better food at munchies.

The pub had great music on, sports on the tv, and great choice of Thai or English food. Very nice! The Thai food came with spices on the side to heat it up if I wanted. The lasagna was hot, filling and served with salad chips and garlic bread.

We went here tonight for my Son's birthday meal. Great choice of food, English and Thai dishes. We chose the Thai set menu and must say the food was gorgeous. The service was excellent. Lovely atmosphere as it wasn't too busy. We will definitely return. Totally recommend

Visited Caddyshack on impulse after our plans changed suddenly on a Tuesday evening. They do a special before 9.00pm which I think is Monday - Friday / 2x main courses and a bottle of wine for £20 - side orders on top . My partner had Thai red curry n I had Thai green curry with chips . The chips were home made n lovely as were the curries - very tasty . We will be back . Service was good from friendly bar man . Points which would have improved our experience : **a sign advising customers to order at the bar ** getting rid of the sachets and putting mayonnaise in a ramekin - but all in all was lovely food

After visiting the Caddy Shack a few times now I thought I would write a quick review.

Called into this little corner bar to find it's like the Tardis. The further in you go the bigger it gets. Really like this place.

We live in greetland so we thought we would go in here for a meal it was so nice that we went again beers very pricey but the meals are lovely can't fault the meals at all but if the beer was cheaper would be better

This place is not sure what it wants to be. Extensive Thai menu plus a bit of a 'pub' menu. Deco very eclectic, real mixed up with big screens and live sport whilst also trying to give a more bar type vibe.

Met up here with family after family funeral. Staff were very friendly. Reasonable pub grub was quite nice and reasonably priced too.

Nice place for a drink, nice decor and surroundings, but don't bother with the food. Half-hearted is the best way to describe it, amateur another.

We arrived at opening time and to say the staff were vague about how to serve people, is to be kind. When I finished my beer and was about to order food I found in the bottom of my glass the blue spout of the beer pump. There was the vaguest mention of an apology but not from the person who poured the beer. He was sitting on the customers side of the bar by this time, more interested in his dog than a customer. Nice dog, terrible place. We walked out.

After my partner and i called in for drinks one friday night, we decided to call in on a sunday for the carvery with the kids, this was just before christmas, think weve been back 4 times since. Its a good carvery served to your table, great value, its not worth turning oven on at home. The settings are nice and clean, and earlier on sunday service is quietier than later in the day. We cant wait for the summer so we can sit out in the private outside area which even has an outside bar and patio heaters.

not family friedly! Asked at the bar if i was ok to order food with my 13 yr old. He said yes no problem, ordered drinks. Then this guy proping up the bar starts ranting on about no children I was totally shocked apart from myself n my daughter and this guy the place was empty. needless to we went else where for food and i wont be going back

We went to the Caddy shack between Xmas and New Year for a bit of lunch, as we have eaten there previously and have been impressed. We looked at the Thai menu as i wanted a bowl of soup & were amazed to find it priced at £6.99. We found this a lot of money for a basic Thai soup. Having eaten in many Thai restaurants across the country, we did not pay this for a bowl of soup. We left, only having a drink. A couple of days later we were in Liverpool & went to a Thai restaurant and only paid £4.50 for the same soup.

Ok my regular but first Christmas what a great day thank you Tony,Tom, Emily and all staff for the excellent food, service attention to every detail excellent made our day guys x

Absolutely beautiful food I ordered the sirloin steak medium /rare when it came out it was cooked to perfection melted in my mouth best steak IV had in a long time everybody in our party really enjoyed there food the waitress who served us was lovely she couldn't do enough for us I will definitely be returning soon

Went with 30 people to this restaurant. Booked for 12 with expectations to eat at 12.30 sat down at 12.40 first starters served my my noodles finally arrived then my meal at 1.20 10 mins before main meal served and had to ask for them to be reheated. My friend had stir pork with lettuce and mine was Thai red curry served with a lot of courgettes!!! When I went to complain to the manager/ owner he had an unfortunate take on customer service. Wasn't interests would not recommend this restaurant to any one

Good food at reasonable price prepared & cooked by a Thai chef. Plenty of choice & freshly cooked, Underused through the week, as always appears to be plenty of tables available. A must try for lovers of Thai cuisine.

My husband and I dropped in early on Saturday night without a booking and were pleasantly surprised by the great food and good service. I had a Chicken Massaman curry and my husband a steak. Both were very tasty, served quickly, cooked well and piping hot.

Been quite a few times now. Always a warm welcome and most times excellent food. Went on a Sunday and a little disappointed. Regulars need to be catered for!

Lovely Sunday lunch in a really nice atmosphere . The staff were incredibly helpful. There was a wide range of ages in our group of 8 from 3 to 43 and we were all catered for on the menu . Very well priced and highly recommended

I have eaten here a few times recently the food is extremely good the staff are friendly, the Thai food is very tasty better than most Thai restaurants I have been to. Defiantly worth a visit, good beer garden too !

We ate here twice and were not disappointed either time. The menu is wide-ranging and both the traditional English and the Thai specialities were excellent. The building appears to have been converted from a bank, and it is nicely decorated inside, with an interesting modern take that includes some of the heritage architectural and ornamental features to great effect. It has the appearance of a slightly trendy wine bar, but it's much more than that, and the guest beers were interesting and unusual, and the total cost including food more than reasonable. Highly recommended!

The Thai food at the Caddyshack is to die for! Lovely, fresh Thai flavors. Plenty of choice. A big bonus is the lovely Sunday lunches they offer. Choice of beef, chicken or pork.

I had heard good reports from friends about the Caddyshack's Thai menu so a group of us gave it a try for a friend's wedding anniversary. We arrived early and had drinks in the lovely bar area. It has the feel of a wine bar - all very relaxed. We were then shown to our table - the dining area is plush yet understated and very cosy. I had salmon skewers with peanut satay to start which were delicious. The boys shared a starter platter which was also delicious. I had a gorgeous vegetable Massaman with coconut rice & crispy noodles. Portions were generous & we certainly didn't need dessert! Then we made our way out to the outdoor terrace & enjoyed a drink there as it was a fine evening. Who knew such an idyllic place was right in the middle of Elland?! Highly recommended and I will be returning very soon!! My only comment for improvement would be to include a separate vegetarian section for starters and mains on the menu & to include Tofu options. Then it would be absolutely perfect in my opinion!

Visited Caddy Shack 3 times and i have been very impressed each time. There is a lovely English Menu with lots to choose from and also a very impressive Thai food menu too. I love the Thai starters, they are to die for. Will definetly be eating here again and highly recomend it. There is a beautiful outside area with seating and lovely flowers all around. Its worth checking out if there is a B.B.Q being served, also there is a lovely bar area outside too.

Great choice of beers out in the beautiful beer garden decided to try the menu good selection decided on the sirloin steak it was cooked to perfection will most certainly go there again !

having visited this pub over the years I can safely say that the improvements in the beer garden and amazing. Looking forward to some hot weather for the BBQ and garden bar to be open , eaten here a few times also and the food is lovely. Drinks are reasonably prices , overall its a great pub.
