Disappointed to discover they have closed their indoor seating area, for good it seems, and only offer take away service. Which for disabled persons, means struggling with your food and drink to outdoor only benches some 20 yards from the cafe entrance.

Today brought pasty, hot choc and shortbread each ( as a couple) the shortbread we took home as was full from the pasty. Its absolutely awful. Cheap tasting and around £3 for slice. If I had tried there I would have taken back. Looks to be out sourced and will contact them direct too but at that price it's beyond saleable. The shortbread base was stodgy... Caramel didn't hold up properly and chocolate well must have been the cheapest taste. Wouldn't personally try any product made from this company again. Ingredients label included but no sell by best before date on.

Today, my two children. Both minors, waited in a queue patiently whilst I sat outside because I had the dogs with me. Both girls are polite and well mannered. This hideous harriden bellowed at them to "Get out! Get your masks!!" Completely unacceptable. My girls were mortified as this was across the shop, in front of other customers. There is no way I will ever go back. Apology? Yes please. Just so rude. I'm fuming.

This place is awful! The staff are rude and the food is sub par and over priced. They refused service without a mask and although they are within their rights to refuse service to anyone neither of the ‘workers’ knew their own rules and were confused when I asked the question ‘are you refusing to serve me without a mask?’ There was a lot of hmmm and arrrr, after I challenged this amd their reason for refusing me the jellyfish of a man asked a very rude and self righteous women whether they could serve me, they loosely discussed it before they decided to refuse me service. I don’t mind if I’m asked to wear a mask even though it’s not legal but they need to put rules in place, put a sign up and be courteous about letting people know their policies. I don’t need to wear a mask as I’m exempt but will if people are polite about it and I can tell they are still Worried about the virus. But when people are rude and don’t even stand strongly with their decision I have no respect for that. They are not an equal opportunities business.

The women that works here is the most rudest human (if you can call her that) that I have ever encountered. I think she needs to realise that without customers she wouldn’t have a business. I wish we checked the reviews before hand! Myself and my girlfriend stopped here to attempt to buy some food on 19th July (freedom day! Face coverings are no longer compulsory) however the worker of this pokey smelly shop has an attitude problem and refused to serve us and continued to be sarcastic. To be honest it was a god send as I would not want to give this business my money and after reading the other reviews the food was of poor quality (looked like it also). Avoid this place!! We went to the old farmhouse restaurant and tea bar instead and it was incredible - staff actually know the COVID rules and were super nice!

The woman who works behind the counter is extremely rude, we walked in polite and wanted to buy some food as the place looked pretty decent, she proceeded to say she was refusing to serve us because we didn't have a face covering? The lockdown rules literally just changed too? We was like okay fair enough and she started getting sarcastic. Disgusting behaviour, such a shame because other reviews have mentioned her appalling behaviour too. We ended up walking down to the old farmhouse and tea room which was lovely, spacious and the staff were so polite and lovely. If you are reading this do not waste your time and money in the pasty shop go down to the tea room!!

After a lovely afternoon in burley we decided to stop off and grab a coffee for the way home, to which we were greeted by an abrupt and miserable woman who instantly said to put our face coverings on before we’d even properly stepped into the premises. My partner then proceeded to walk in to which she alarmingly told him to get back, he has a naturally loud speaking voice and responded politely. This woman proceeded to tell him his voice was unnecessarily loud. I’d go as far as to say it was in a discriminatory manor as this was unfairly bought to his attention multiple times. When ordering the coffee she simply told us to “get out” and refused us service! I was completely baffled considering we were bringing business, and especially as no aggressive stance or speech from him had taken place!! This woman is extremely sour and was clearly not happy seeming as we’d disturbed the birds tweeting in her head. I don’t recommend unless your looking for abrupt and rude service.

I queued outside this store for 20 mins intending to buy ice cream. In this time they - very slowly - served two people (each of whom purchased one ice cream each). When I eventually got inside the woman behind the counter snapped at me that I wasn’t wearing a proper face covering. I had a polo neck jumper pulled right up to my eyes! I then calmly explained that my covering was adequate - while noting that she and the man “serving” with her merely had plastic visas which offers everyone else around them including the customers hardly no protection at all. As others on here have experienced, the woman immediately got sniffy and hilariously ordered me to leave!!I’m actually very relieved bcos while waiting for ages I saw the servers using their fingers to touch the ice cream and everything looked very unhygienic. These rude and dirty people do not deserve your money!

Myself and my husband visited The Burley Stores Tea Rooms at the beginning of lockdown for a takeaway ice cream. The takeaway had no COVID measures in place and the ice cream was amazing. We decided to drive from Poole to Burley today to see the horses and get an ice cream. We queued outside the shop for around 20 minutes because we thought the ice cream waa worth the wait. My husband realised that he had left his fsce covering in the car, forgetting that it wasn't a kiosk and you do hsve to step inside the shop to get the ice cream. However around 20 people went in and out with their ice creams whilst we were waiting, that didn't have a face covering and they were only letting a few people at a time. We got to the front of the queue, stepped inside to see the staff had plastic perspex up, but were not wearing face coverings. The lady asked if we had face coverings, i responded to say i did, but my husband didn't. I put mine on, although i don't actually have to due to being asthmatic. The gentleman in front of us left, so we moved forward. The man working in there then said to my husband "do you have a face covering" to which my husband replied "no". The man working in there then said "what are you going to do about it". When my husband replied with "nothing" he asked him to leave. I then asked "so you are willing to lose money, because he doesn't have a face covering" to which the man replied "yes, when it is to protect people's health" They weren't wearing anything?! My husband continued to explain that they had served around 20 people without them whilst we had been waiting. The lady then said "please stop talking and leave" and held her hand up to him. I think it's absolutely disgusting the way that we were spoken to and at no point were we asked if there was a reason why he wasn't wearing a face covering. I don't think they are aware that there are people out there with health conditions etc, that should not be made to leave or feel bad for not wearing one. Absolutely discusting behaviour and we will never be returning again!

Love this little shop - the in house butcher has excellent meat, bacon is divine, burger patties are ginormous and tasty. I recently bought one of their roasted chickens which was delicious and have also bought chickens to roast myself. Fruit and veg are good and they stock a local yoghurt which is definitely worth purchasing. Nothing like New Forest ice cream either. Calorific and hard to stop eating. We visited as a group of 5 adults but I got the feeling that the staff weren't concerned about the quality of our visit as they were too busy churning tourists in and out. Every table inside was full of dirty plates and cups and so because of this, there were flies everywhere - I counted at least 20 buzzing round the table next to us.We ordered a slice of Victoria sponge but couldn't eat it as it was stale. To be fair to the staff, they did offer us a refund on this. I ordered a flat white which was poor. We also ordered two pots of tea, both of which arrived in metal teapots, the handles were so hot we couldn't pour them. One of my friends had a sausage roll that he said was nice and the new forest ice cream is good too. Don't bother wasting your money here. There are better cafes within a 5 minute drive - they're just cashing in on the fact that they're the only cafe in Burley.

Came here with friends after fairy festival was cancelled so was expecting it to be busy which it was so was prepared to wait a while. Managed to get a table but it needed clearing. A very young boy started to clear the table. He was really sweet and polite unlike the 2 young people (1 male 1 female )who told him off and were really rude to him. I went to the counter to order our food & drinks and was rudely told I had to order at the til on the other side. I ordered afternoon tea for 2 and a piece of Dorset apple cake. When the tea arrived it was 2 pots of English tea when I actually ordered 1 English & 1 earl Grey. The scones didn’t arrive with the tea but turned up later and were left on the counter where they sat while the lady served another customer with 2 cups of coffee at the counter we were told we couldn't order from and our scones stayed there until we picked them up ourselves. Still no sign of the cake. The apple cake was the best I've ever had but the service was terrible. The young boy was really lovely. Maybe the others should learn from him.

Had a chicken panini and a savoury scone which also came with a slice of cake - all very tasty. When we arrived, lots of people were just paying their bills and leaving so we managed to get a table. All the tables were covered in the remains of other diners meals. My partner went to the counter to order and was in a queue behind people ordering food to take away. There seemed to be only 2 staff members to cope with front of house duties. After a few minutes, a friendly polite young girl came to clear the mounds of crockery from the table I was at. After another few minutes of waiting in the queue to order and not getting far, my partner came back to me and said that he reckoned he would be waiting for about another 20 minutes before placing our order and we wouldn't have time to eat before the car park ticket expired.

Even though they were not busy, the miserable woman patrolling the customers whipped things off the table before we were all finished and made us all feel like we were unwelcome. Being the polite person that I am I still said thank you when I left but just received a glare that would have stopped a clock! Such a shame, could be a lovely place. After queueing for a considerable amount of time I ordered drinks, a steak dish for my stepdad, cheese on toast for my mum and as my son and I are vegan I asked if the falafel and veggie burgers were vegan (apparently they aren't) so I asked if they had anything they could rustle together for my son and I (i.e. a few chips and salad or something) but the server flatly refused and then as I was inputting my pin whilst paying for the drinks and food for my mum and stepdad, the woman kept saying over an over again in a really nasty tone 'you can leave if you want to, go on, you can leave if you want to'. This place is good for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea and the ice-creams were proving popular too. With seating inside and out we went for coffee and although busy were served our drinks quickly. The cakes looked delicious too.

So we popped in here whilst exploring the new forest whilst on a family holiday and to maybe avoid the rain!

Hello, we came on bank holiday Monday and we really enjoyed our food. We just wanted to point something out to the managers that's all... We came and you weren't busy. We picked out the only clean table in the place, there was only 2 other tables that people were sat on yet all tables had dirty plates on.

We visited Burley on a short family break. We decided to lunch at Burley stores and we were glad we did. We had Panini's and toasted sandwiches, all of which were tasty and well presented. Their hot chocolate was delicious and my son loved his banana and strawberry smoothie. Definitely recommend

Visited yesterday for Mother's Day. Had to clear the table & wipe ourselves. Very busy & staff unable to cope, they were very stressed which reflected on customer care. A long wait between ordering & receiving food. No drinks as they mislaid order, when found we had to collect ourselves. Food was nothing special, sandwiches very dry & small portions. An unpleasant Mother's Day trip overall.

Visited on Mothering Sunday at 2pm. Obviously busy due to the demand for food in a popular New Forest village but although the tables were cleared the dirty crockery was left on a table and on the counter in the cafe. We ordered takeaway sandwiches, we were told there would be a 20 minute wait which was fine but value for money was poor. All four sandwiches provided were dissapointing, my son had a chicken caesar salad baguette which only had chicken and dressing in it - no salad! The mature cheese and chutney was grated cheese with a sweet chutney and the ham sandwich was very dry. The cafe may be ok if it's quiet but it certainly couldn't keep up with the pace today.

The perfect store in the middle of The New Forest, set on the cross roads near the Burley Court Hotel, just the kind of shop you need when based in a place like this, very clean and well presented and not overpriced.

For a tiny village Burley has more than its fair share of tea rooms and cafes. Over the years I have probably eaten and drank everywhere one can in this wonderful little place in the heart of the New Forest. It's nice, therefore, to heartily recommend the Burley Stores Café to the casual visitor.

We came here for an afternoon coffee, and got tempted by the pasty and pastries. The ambiance is pleasant, and the quality of eats good.

We make sure we visit the stores each time we go to Burley to stock up on their great selection of chutneys, beers and wines (peach and elderflower wines are my fave!). They also have a good selection of gifts to take home to families.

Decided to stop in for lunch on a visit to Burley. Decided on Burley Stores as their menu seemed good and prices reasonable. Although behind the counter seems a little higgledy piggledy, the food was lovely and arrived really quickly. Can certainly recommend the garlic bushrooms with bacon strips!! The rustic bread arrived warm and was really nice. They do breakfast and traditional afternoon tea with a good choice of main meals and snacks. You order at the counter and your food is brought to your table.

My friend and I visited Ringwood from Bath for the day a delightful town.Where we came upon the The Original White Hart we could see the menu on a table through the window and liked the look of what was on the menus so we went inside. The place looked interesting and immacilate plenty of space. They staff were so friendly and efficiant. The food was glorious and tasty and well presented at a really low cost and in return received high standards.I wish this establishment was situated in Bath we will certainly returan whan that way again. I'd rang in the week before the Saturday (19th Oct) lunchtime, and pre-booked a table for our party of 13, and I said we needed 2 high-chairs. (How nice it was to ring and book a table verbally, instead of booking on-line.) On the day, we arrived to find 3 tables pushed together for us, and all was good, though no high-chairs, which the staff member got sorted fast. We arrived in a bit of a disjointed way (an initial 5, then a 3, then a 5), but this caused no problem, and we had drinks on tab. Our meal experience was really very good, with good attention by all staff (at bar and at table). The food (we had main and dessert) came in good time, and it was delicious. All in our party thought their main course was excellent, being really flavoursome. I had the cottage pie, it was delightful, as was my partner's pork rump steak. Yes, prices were a couple of pounds more per plate for mains, but definitely worth it. At no time were we hurried along, or unduly hassled, and we ended up spending much of a great Saturday afternoon there. Our 7yo in the party enjoyed the wooden play apparatus outside, and I loved the Exmoor ales! Lastly, how refreshing to have no service charge automatically added, and allow customers to decide. We'd never eaten there before, but we will again!

Made a special visit to come here, was not worth it! Dirty and empty shelves! No bread and cakes as advertised! I wouldn’t exactly call two picnic benches a cafe especially being along side pet food! Do not be fooled by the photos!

Badly made coffee, extremely weak, no flavour. Normally Costa I find to be OK, not particularly great but reliably OK. Not at this branch.
