Arrived a whole hour late and kebab had more pitta bread than meat. I was looking forward to this meal all day and when I got to it I was filled with disappointment at first because of how obscenely late it was. Then when I finally got to opening my order I was appalled at the sheer lack of meat in it. At first I thought it was only the bread and maybe they had put the meat separately but unfortunately that was not the case. Never will I order from here again.

Had a few deliveries and although the first couple were really good they have declined in recent times. Tonight, the mini fish was a nano fish, dry and chewy, although the chips were quite nice. Savloy was disgusting, like it had just been tipped out of a tin and warmed up slightly, so went in the bin. Won't be buying again I'm afraid.

Fish was lovely but the chips were the worst I have ever tasted very dry, had a burnt taste, looked and tasted as if they had been recooked from earlier or the night before. Won’t be going there again

Im so sorry to say this but it's meant genuinely to help the new owners, the chips we had last night were either frozen or old and tough. Not sure why

Ordered online. Not only was the order late, the order was wrong & items missing from the order. Kids couldn't eat their meals as message included stating allergies were not listened to. Drinks were missing, no sauce on any of the meals that were requested with the options available. Top it all off, contacted them and to be spoken to arrogantly, unapologetic. The man was very rude, raising his voice at me and putting the phone down! Disgusting, absolutely shocking service! will never use again. AVOID!!

Visited again after seeing friends. Staff had changed but the food was still excellent. I’ve tried some nearby places recently after reading reviews here. I will post reviews on the relevant pages but I thought the staff at Donnelly’s were very rude and the food not a great deal better. Each to their own but every time I’ve visited the Bull Ring the food is exceptional which is why it won the National kebab award a few years ago (causing much excitement in the Worcester Daily News!).

I asked the young lady for a small portion of chips and specifically asked her to pour curry sauce on the chips, rather than place sauce in a unbiodegradable foam takeaway cup. As she carried out my order, I attempted to explain how I wanted to reduce landfill waste and that was my reason for not wanting a foam takeaway cup, but this fell on deaf ears, because the next thing I knew, she had filled a foam cup with curry sauce & was pouring it on my chips, unbelievable! After I Had paid for my takeaway, I left the shop and literally a minute later I unwrapped my chips to discover they were both lukewarm and many of the chips were not properly cooked. As a result I couldn't consume them and of course I was out of pocket, but I am sure the Seagulls enjoyed my discarded food lol! I did not have time to return to shop and make my feelings known as I had to go to work. I have previously had takeaways from this establishment before, owned by the same proprietor, but it was a while ago and the food was relatively good then. So I can only conclude that the proprietor has lost his passion and again this was evident by the substandard service, quality of food and the the establisment been souless.

On the inside it's just like any other chippy with a counter, visible food and a menu up above. However the service is incredible with the friendly staff there. The food is above and beyond what you would expect. The chips are always good and the pies they have are exceptional. Their kebabs are simply the best in town and also best value. Could not recommended this place enough.

Inedible chips. Donnelly's was too busy so got take away chips from here. Big mistake. Just really nasty. Not often that you put a chip in your mouth and spit it out. One star too high a score. Appalling.

I decided to give this chippy another go after finding a hair in my chips about 3 months or so ago. I ordered chips, peas and gravy. As on many previous occasion the gravy had to made especially for me. While the miserable owner went out back to make the gravy the assistant started to get my chips and peas sorted. After wrapping everything up I noticed the paper my food was wrapped in was covered in blood. I said to the owner that wouldn't be accepting my order and left. The assistant clearly knew he was bleeding as he made no bones about it when brought to his attention and was aware blood was all over the wrapping. I will not be using this chip shop again.

Absolutely ATROCIOUS. Worse meal experience I’ve ever had. Battered sausage tasted rancid. Fish is disgusting. Potatoes fritter was over done and chewy. The batter on everything was way too chewy. The best thing about the meal was the bottle of Oasis. Curry sauce was also rank. My cats have eaten more than me. Basically over priced cat food.

Came here for the first time since it has reopened and honestly the first impression was rubbish. Had to give our order four times as the senior server would rather bark orders at the young till lad than listen to what we were saying then had the cheek to look at us with disgust when we told him for the forth time what we wanted. The prices are ridiculously expensive compared with other chippies in the area and the price for the kebab meat doesn’t include chips! £3.99 for a small meat alone then £2.00 for a cone of chips. Other places charge you £4.99 for a large portion and that includes the chips. The senior guy said it’s because some people don’t want the chips with the meat - that’s why they go to a chip shop ok?!?!? We will not be returning! Which was a shame really as once we got our expensive tiny portion of food it was not bad really.

Great to have this traditional chip shop open again and under new ownership since early 2017, after being dormant for 18months or so. Freshly decorated and revamped and now serving one of the best fish n' chips available in Worcester. Helpful friendly staff and a mouth watering variety of chip shop faves await you. St Johns now have a chippy to be proud of.

I really liked this place. Chose a lamb kebab and wasn't disappointed. My mate told me to try it as they had won an award for best kebabs. I can see why - Very tasty and very good portion sizes. Chicken and mushroom pie and chips.. the chips were an odd colour and tasted horrible, like they had been either reheated or cooked in old fat and the pie was simply disgusting. The pastry was an odd colour, it was leathery and the contents were dry, tough, old, inedible. Definitely not fresh. I would not write a poor review of a chippy without good reason, this was so horrible i'm afraid it deserves it.

Well coming from Birmingham - 'the city of amazing take-aways', I really didn't expect this chip shop to live up to the standards that I have come accustomed, but WOW! This chip shop certainly surpassed my expectations and delivered what I can only describe as the most fresh tasting cod and chips that I have ever tasted. The staff were very pleasant and friendly and the food was top notch.I don't normally write reviews, but I think this little gem deserves to be recommended to everyone. You've gained a regular in me, Bullring Chippy! Oh and also, I'm getting married in July next year and guess who is catering! Woo!

So on a wet, windy and bleak February day we wandered in here to fill the screaming kids with that most traditional of English fayre. Chish and Fips. Visiting friends in Worcester we asked what the best chippy in town was and their reply was the Bull Ring. The Bull Ring is the oldest and most traditional chippy in St Johns and is located, oddly, on the old bull ring (which closed many many years ago). When we went in we discovered that a new owner had just taken over and he was very keen that we try the fish (which is cut in impressively large portions) coated in his own recipe batter. Adventurous as we are we went for it and I have to say this was the best cod and chips I've ever had....bar none. The fish is brought fresh several times a week and the owner makes a very light and crisp batter that lets the fish steam in the fryer. Ours were cooked to absolute perfection with the fish still moist and flaky. Chips were crisp, fluffly inside and lacking any of that greasy taste you sometimes get. This is really what fish and chips in this country is all about. We left glad that it is still possible to find litte gems hidden away in corners of the country like this, although slightly suprprised to find ourselves waxing lyrical about our nation's favourite dish again! Anyway, I still couldn't convince the kids about the delights of mushy peas but then what do they know.....

Horrendous - put two orders in for next day delivery £20 in delivery fees. One order wasn’t processed at all the other wasn’t delivered! Huge waste of time and money 3-5 days for a refund even though they didn’t supply a single thing promised. The first one it took 5 attempts to contact customer service to get a response and the second quicker to get through but still highly inconvenient sitting on online chat.

Not good! Went for a late lunch at the weekend. Sticky overflowing tables, sticky floor, dirty toilets. So many problems again (we've been a few times, it's rapidly going downhill.) Long delays ordering then waiting for drinks and meals. Getting served at the bar is an ongoing problem. With no proper queuing system...it's a nightmare free for all, after 15mins+ this causes understandable customer tension/ staff stress. It's not nice! Today's incredibly rude barman liked to serve his mates/ or really loud pushy blokes. He got shouty with a small family trying to order food (that had run out) and when they didn't understand he refused to serve them for being rude (they weren't!) cancelled their order and walked away leaving them bewildered at the bar. Interesting that he didn't do that with the large group of worse for wear, sweary, revellers on a pub crawl, pushing infront of young families and the elderly locals. It's a lovely old building in a good central location but the kitchen and staff are over stretched with regular staff, food and drink shortages (really how can you run out of the basics?) Needs sorting out at a higher management level to give the genuinely nice frontline staff a fighting chance! (Except for the rude barman who should be removed and retrained asap.) I'd swerve this bar until it's been overhauled. There are plenty of other local food and drink options (including a cracking, well run Weatherspoons a few miles away.) Taxi!
