Went for some quick lunch and waited nearly an hour. We was not informed about a waiting time on food if we had known would have left as we had 2 young children who got bored of waiting. When the food came child's pizza was wrong, burgers were only just warm and pigs in blankets were cremated you wouldn't serve them also should have been 2 and only got 1, they were so short staffed it was unbelievable. Wouldn't rush back any time soon.

Three stars feels a little harsh as the food and service were good, but there's lots that could be improved here. The bar area was incredibly busy and noisy, and the tables were sticky and in need of a wipe down (we checked several). There were also several tables waiting to be emptied and cleaned. The staff behind the bar seemed overwhelmed with orders and it took a good 5-10 minutes to get to front of the queue (there was no mobile signal so we were unable to order via the app/website like we usually do). There's more seating towards the rear of the building, away from the bar area, where it's a bit quieter, but still no mobile signal as far as I could tell. The toilets are a bit of a trek (typical Wetherspoons!) and were clean and tidy. The food was good and our server apologised for the delay even though it was still with us in under 20 minutes. Maybe they were just short-staffed on the day, or perhaps under-staffed generally, which led to the delays. We'll certainly consider eating here again, perhaps just at a less busy time.

Now I wouldn't normally consider thinking of a weathspoons as getting a 5 star rating, but this one deserves it. Went here on the last Fri before Christmas, expecting it to be busy, and it was. Expecting to wait long, but actually we didn't need to; actually thinking we might struggle to find somewhere to sit, but we found a table; actually thinking it'll be too loud and noisy, but it wasn't; actually to think food here might be below par, but we ordered three small dishes and they were all good! Actually thinking service will be slow and poor, but the staff were excellent, asked if we needed anything and even checked in on us! Now that's why it deserves 5 stars!

Not good! Went for a late lunch at the weekend. Sticky overflowing tables, sticky floor, dirty toilets. So many problems again (we've been a few times, it's rapidly going downhill.) Long delays ordering then waiting for drinks and meals. Getting served at the bar is an ongoing problem. With no proper queuing system...it's a nightmare free for all, after 15mins+ this causes understandable customer tension/ staff stress. It's not nice! Today's incredibly rude barman liked to serve his mates/ or really loud pushy blokes. He got shouty with a small family trying to order food (that had run out) and when they didn't understand he refused to serve them for being rude (they weren't!) cancelled their order and walked away leaving them bewildered at the bar. Interesting that he didn't do that with the large group of worse for wear, sweary, revellers on a pub crawl, pushing infront of young families and the elderly locals. It's a lovely old building in a good central location but the kitchen and staff are over stretched with regular staff, food and drink shortages (really how can you run out of the basics?) Needs sorting out at a higher management level to give the genuinely nice frontline staff a fighting chance! (Except for the rude barman who should be removed and retrained asap.) I'd swerve this bar until it's been overhauled. There are plenty of other local food and drink options (including a cracking, well run Weatherspoons a few miles away.) Taxi!

Absolutely disgraceful service here. We visited to get a quick meal before heading to the theatre, before ordering we asked how long the food wait was and were informed that there was only one order on the board currently so it would be less than 10 minutes - this would have been perfect. We placed an order for drinks before quickly deciding what food we wanted so it would all be ordered together. Both meals came with drinks but the barman put the drinks through separately and so charged us extra for drinks. When questioned he had such a bad attitude saying its how the till worked and that as we ordered the food after it was just how it was. We said that he could have offered us the second drink with the meal but we just got no other response than that's just how it is. We sat down and found that our drinks were flat so had to go back to the bar to get them replaced. After 10 minutes a member of staff approached the table to say that one of the curry's that we'd ordered had ran out (it was 6.20pm and curry night, so shocking they'd ran out). My friend asked if the tikka massala was available instead but hadn't committed to the change, the staff member said they'd go and find out and come back. Well, no-one came back at all so we assumed they'd changed the order. After 30 minutes of waiting from the original order there was still no sign of food and we had five minutes before having to leave for the theatre. We had no other choice but to ask for a refund on the order. The duty manager didn't seem fazed by it at all, even as it was explained that the original barman's attitude was incredibly poor and customer service in general was severely lacking. I know with Spoons you expect cheap and easy but this was a complete shambles.

(Review resubmitted due to images not uploading) Yet another visit to a different Wetherspoons branch - no 106. A nice Wetherspoons pub, however as it is now the only one left in Worcester, after The Postal Order in Foregate St closed down, it is a rather busy pub! A bit of a mistake by Wetherspoons to be honest to leave a large City Centre such as Worcester with only one branch. It is a long thin pub with a beer garden to the rear and an additional seating area upstairs, which I didn't know until I visited the Gents. Managed to find a dirty table towards the back of the pub, which was eventually cleared. Had to order at the Bar, as the EE mobile network signal is non-existent inside the pub, therefore the Wetherspoons app would not work, not even when I managed to connect to the Pub WiFi. However as I had to order at the bar, when I returned, the table was occupied. A common issue when ordering at the bar. Ordered a Vegetarian Breakfast and a Pint of Titanic Black Ice beer, which was on offer at £1.29 a pint. Unfortunately service was quite slow, Had to chase up my order with a member of staff after a while, which then seemed to be forgotten about. Had to then chase up again, only to be advised it was a half hour wait for food! This was not advised when I ordered. Breakfast arrived after half an hour and was lukewarm. Although I appeared to have received an extra piece of toast! Not a bad pub, however Worcester really does need a second branch! As I've been finding elsewhere, cutting back to only one branch in a large area is a bit of a stupid mistake by the Wetherspoons Senior Management. Some areas have a Wetherspoons pub that is just too small/busy just for one pub in the area. Worth a visit if in the area (and if you can find a table!), however some improvement could be made overall. Edit: Returned in the evening (5:30pm) to see if service was any better. Pub was still busy and drinks arrived through in good time. However, the food order was a bit slow at arriving, around 24 minutes this time. It is a shame as this isn't a bad pub, it is just let down by slow food service. Had the 'new' 10" Crunchy Chicken and Smoked Chipotle Wrap, Chips and a Guinness.

This former coaching inn is a great spot for lunch! It's a Wetherspoons restaurant and has a nice seating area outside on the street. I went in spontaneously. It was very busy but I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. A staff member kindly directed me to the allergen screen. All the allergens for everything on the menu are detailed on a touch screen mounted on the wall. Ordering at the bar was easy and the prices represented excellent value for money. Despite the busy lunchtime rush, I didn't have to wait long for my food. My lunch was piping hot and delicious. I recommend this restaurant and would eat here again.

The food was to a standard you'd expect from wehterspions. And those who know my reveiws know I'm a big fan of seeking old jd out. Sadly this one failed to impress me. In fact possibly the least favoured of the ones I've been to yet. It was Saturday lunchtime. However I would expect some level of consistency so not much of an excuse. Firstly I understand the need to maximise profitability but downstairs it is just ridiculas how close together the tables were. To the point of one table having to move in order to let another table be seated. Once seating had been found upstairs it was down to ordering. I wanted a meal with a drink. So I ordered orange juice and lemonade. Out of stock. Ok so Pepsi max cherry out of stock. Raspberry lemonade. Cans only eventually got down to normal pint of Pepsi I understand saturday lunchtime but to run out of fundamentals like that seems a bit bizarre. So to the food. After a much longer wait than is normal out came the food. No general complaints but on the all day breakfast the eggs were broken and over cooked. But the steak fish and chips and beef madras all went down well. So food not too bad toilets not best but again it was busy. Bar was soaked and u think that could have been cleaned a lot quicker it not bad. And I'd give it another chance but not my favourite like bewdlys george hotel

I'd been to Worcester many times, under duress, I must stress. Dragged there kicking and screaming by in-laws every time we strayed within ten miles of the place because, you know, we we had to. Worcester is quite well-to-do and the in-laws really weren't. The Hyacinth Bucket principle lives on and I came to loathe the place with a burning passion. Shame really, it's a lovely City. Now, many years post divorce and happily married once again, we ventured to the The Crown as we passed through Worcester on our way to Wales. It was time for a morning feed and two traditional breakfasts had our name on them. The pub at 8am was quiet, clean, welcoming and the staff were genuinely friendly too. It's a Wetherspoons pub and so we knew what was coming and we weren't disappointed. All the usual suspects were on the plate as expected. Two red hot and almost painful to eat hash browns stood guard over tepid bacon and a an almost hot sausage. Warm toast formed a flood barrier protecting the feast from the baked beans that had been microwaved to an acceptable temperature whilst gathering a thin sin on the sauce. That and a couple of coffees set us up for the day and we headed off to Tenby fed and watered. Recommended and Worcester really is a very nice City. Just leave your past behind...

It takes ages to get a drink, food takes longer so we didn't bother with dessert. The food arrived in dribs and drabs so there was no sense of eating together. The restaurant insists that you pay upfront and even tries to get a tip on top of the service charge they levy for non existent service. They remove the dishes as soon as they can. As we’d encountered such rude staff we just ate it without anything else ruining our visit. If you haven’t got a kitchen manager overseeing the quality of the food no wonder the food is as rubbish as the service

This is a weatherspoons pub, and I know they are basic but I have to say, when you want a good pint and a well priced meal, then visit. I have to admit I like them, good honest and well priced fair..😍

Excellent service by bar member Becky. 100% deserves a raise. 10/10 everything. Up Becky. Amazing Tequila Rose shots. If you come to The Crown, get served by Becky. Absolutely brilliant.

No table service, when you go to the bar, bar maid literally did not speak, I had to tell her what I wanted, she didn't acknowledge my order, then when the transaction appeared on the card reader, she still didn't speak, young blonde, too busy chatting

I do not normally write negative reviews on any platform, but I was a little surprised at the "service" I got today from the House of Fraser in Worcester. I called to see if they had a console available; on the phone, they confirmed they had several, when I arrived 45 minutes later, they had been sold out for a few days. Ok, not pleasant, but fine. Then went to look at shoes, found a pair, and waited in the queue for 20 minutes. As I finally approached the till, the woman said she had to switch tills, so could I (and a lady behind me) follow her through the store. We did only to arrive at a till with another long queue and asked me to go to the back. I didn't make a scene, but I had to pick up my daughter, so I couldn't wait again. I handed her the shoes saying I couldn't wait again, and she seemed astonished and put off that I wouldn't. I understand it's a busy time, but I am not surprised that so many of these stores are closing; the level of service and general comprehension of putting people out was quite shocking. I know it won't put a dent in their margins, but I was planning on spending 600+ today, and now other shops in the area will get the money, which is better for the local economy anyway. Taught me a lesson to stay local. However, I will say the man who helped me find the shoes was very accommodating, but that won't get me to return. C'est la vie

Asked for it to be warmed and was told it had been. Pasty was cold. Staff serving were not friendly at all. Brownie I had was really small and a friend’s was much bigger for the same price. Will be going to Greggs next time!

I loved this pub when we visited on sunday 27th Oct. It has so much character. It's oozing with architectural history; you're surrounded by oak beams and low ceilings. The regulars are friendly. It's dog friendly. The bar staff are friendly. It has live music Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday afternoons. It has a pool table. The loos are clean and and well appointed. I read the last couple of reviews, and it saddens me that they want to put people off visiting this historic tavern. My experience was the total opposite.

Superb bar probably my favourite in worcester, fast service even when busy, Good beers. Guinness here I find is,some of the best in worcester, prices are not too bad. But then everwhere is dear these days compared to years ago. Loafs of seating. Sport. And chatty people what's not too like for an afternoon or evening beer
