We had a birthday party at no 35 and it was the perfect venue. Really well made drinks and cocktails, great food and the service was excellent; nothing was too much trouble Highly recommend for popping in for a drink too

Went in on Saturday for drinks after dinner, the bar itself is lovely but the service was horrible. Not a single smile on any of the faces and I felt like I was a real inconvenience as a customer. I went to order a 2nd while my partner carried on with his drink and the service was so rude I actually said not to bother and left the bar. It was a shame because I’ve been before and really liked it but now I wouldn’t go back, I’d much rather go somewhere you feel remotely welcome.

Cannot rave about this venue enough! Kimberley planned the event with me to the final details, added her own personal touch which I loved! we worked together to make my 21st special. The girls on the bar that evening were so friendly & very efficient all night, always smiling and talking to you. We customised cocktails for my 21st with a twist Kimberley came up with which really added to the evening, alongside the amazing atmosphere in the venue. All my guests had a really lovely evening, from ages 18-70 they all loved it. I would highly reccomend the venue for either an event or even just drinks with friends as the cocktails are incredible!Thank you so so much for making my birthday one to remember.Eve

We visited this bar on Friday evening and stayed until 1:00am. It was a sophisticated atmosphere and not too crowded. At the back of the room there are doors that join additional rooms that lead round to the bar next door. These rooms are a lot livelier with loud music and a DJ.

Vibrant atmosphere on a busy Friday night - including and exhuberant hen party around the bar!Well presented venue with space around the tables, efficient young waiting staff. Excellent range of food on the menu.Tasty mezzi starter for four devoured with eager tasting.Range of exotic burgers one of many choices and one enjoyed by the company. Pasta chicken and cheese dish tasty and generous. Very tender calve's liver with a delicious wine jus to complement the earthy flavours of the liver.Only one dessert taken - a divine Baileys cheesecake with ice creamAll in all a great place to eat and a venue that is trying hard to achieve the trends of the moment only to fall at the final hurdle. At a time when craft beers are taking the drink scene by storm to be offered a long line of cold fizzy lagers was to me a disappointment. Perhaps the management can up their game to anothe level by this refinement soon.

Visited with a friend for a glass of wine. We were quite indecisive but the staff were helpful and friendly and we got to try a range of different wines to find one we wanted. We got complimentary nibbles and ending up staying there for hours playing board games, drinking delicious cocktails and even ordered a small bite.Service throughout the evening was brilliant, and both food and drink was great. Only thing I was not to keen on was the atmosphere and the loud music (which probably says more about me than the place).

We stayed in Worcester a week and this was the only place we had dinner twice. Both times with the very reasonably priced sharing boards, more than ample for two without resorting to an over abundance of bread. Everything was prepared perfectly and plated with intention, each element serving a purpose. The lamb skewers were amazing. Super locavore ingredients. Great service; the server actually remembered the wine we had on our first visit when we came back two days later. Really good selection of wines. Not open for lunch, but great for a relaxing couples dinner or to share with friends. Definitely recommend it!

We were looking for something a bit special for a retirement celebration of a much loved colleague. We decided to try this place and though it was a bit pricey we thought well why the heck not?!I am so glad we did. We booked for 6.15 straight from work and the restaurant asked us to pre-order to ensure they had everything in. We had no objection to this and phoned our order through on Wednesday prior to going on the Friday. We arrived at about 6.10 and were asked whether we wanted to be seated straight away which we chose to do. Another colleague was running a bit late but they were happy to take drinks orders and even offered a taste of the wine first to be sure we were happy. They put olives on the table as a stop gap and our missing colleague turned up at 6.55. We were virtually served straight after that - between us we had the hanger steak done various ways (accurately in all cases) the smoked haddock, the hake and shellfish stew, the risotto and the pork belly. Without exception everything was pronounced delicious. Our drinks were replenished where needed and pudding orders were taken and lapped up too. A couple of desert cocktails were tried as well! Bill paying time came and as is the way of work do's there was a bit of argybargy about how to split it - our retiring workmate for instance wanted to buy us the first round of drinks and our bosses had also made a contribution. Despite all the voices the waiter remained calm and patient and probably ended up with a good tip because of it!We are hoping to come back for our Christmas do!Well done everyone. A triumph of good service and great food.

This visit was so much better than I had expected, both courses my friends and I had were excellent and cooked to perfection. The wine we ordered, priced at £18 per bottle, was really nice. One of my pet hates is restaurants that give their customers appalling quality wine for around this price, in the belief that we will spend more. So I was delighted to see that The Provenance haven't gone in that direction and delivered great quality at a reasonable price. The ambiance was lively and really enjoyable. The staff were enthusiastic and helpful. Will be going again for sure.

Visited The Provenance for my birthday with a large party. There was great communication and understanding of late changes to the pre-orders from the manageress prior to our visit. Our visit was on a Sunday for Sunday Lunch. The food was fantastic and service was very good. I particularly enjoyed the beef which was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. I particularly enjoyed the welcome into the provenance we were encouraged to take our time and get a drink from the bar giving me opportunity to welcome everyone, we were then shown to our table and coats taken from us and hung up. I do wish that we were on less tables but there were more than 20 of us and i'm confident they catered for us as best they could. The cocktails were fantastic and the Bartender very professional and knowledgeable about the large range of drinks they had to offer.I would 100% recommend this restaurant and i've had many great evenings here.

I had the Wagyu beef (which i note is no longer on the menu) & it was poor, a large portion but poor, not even as tender or tasty as a bog standard £20 fillet! We went for a cigarette between courses (we did inform our waitress) only to be called in to say our deserts were on the table 2 minutes later. For desert we both had the salted caramel parfait, this was just vanilla ice cream with a sprinkling of salted caramel on the top.Pretty disappointing really, won't be going again. shame. if you want a decent steak try the kings head - tough to beat.

I went to Provenance with a group of friends on Saturday night. This restaurant promised locally sourced food cooked by a great chef...according to the blurb....The ambience was lovely though they did seem to have a problem with the flickering lights, as someone else has mentioned and I couldn't quibble too much with the service although someone in my group ordered soup and was not given a spoon. My husband and I had the 10oz hangar steak, which we had tried before at another restaurant and very much enjoyed. It was a very ungainly looking thing and could have been mistaken for another part of the cow's anatomy ( I won't elaborate). Looks aside, it was very chewy, even though we both ordered it rare and it came with half a fried tomato, a slither of mushroom, French fries, onion jam and a smidge of jus - a glorified fry up! It was ok - but pricey at £16 for a steak cut that was more than likely fairly cheap. One of my friends had the lemon sole and she said that it was horribly boney. I think this restaurant is trying to pass itself off as a fine dining experience but it's food is more on the lines of pub grub and over-priced. The front half of the restaurant is a bar, which also lowers the tone of the place and it seems that it is a little confused with what it wants to be. Is it a case of profit, profit, profit over true quality and a great product. I believe that the owner owns the bar next door and in my opinion he should keep the bar as a bar and maintain the restaurant as a restaurant.

Booked this restaurant for a friends night out. Table and setting were lovely, place was overbearingly hot and over head lights kept flickering then going out then coming back on- very disconcerting. Soup served without a spoon, drinks order had to be given twice .....and so it went on. The staff were all pleasant if a little slow and they felt inexperienced. The food was nicely presented & flavourful but expensive for the portion size - almost as if the restaurant has ideas of grandeur but just can't quite carry it off.

My husband and I both felt a fine dining restaurant was just what Worcester City Centre was missing, and our first trip to No 35 The Provenance didn't disappoint, but three months later our experience was totally different. It's the little things that make all the difference, and to be told to order our pre-dinner drinks at the bar, have no-one offer to take our coats, having to suffer music being streamed through the speakers far too loudly for a sensible conversation, no offer of bread, and that I couldn't possibly mix my order between the Valentine's set menu and the al la carte menu, made our overall experience of service levels for this particular restaurant falling far short of a fine dining experience. Save for the boudin blanc, which resembled nothing more than a chargrilled quorn sausage, the food was actually very good, although a little guidance as to which mains require side dishes, and which do not would not go amiss. We both feel that No 35 The Provenance need to decide which market they are targeting, either a fine dining restaurant, or a cocktail bar catering for the masses. Sorry, but you cannot be both. Sadly a big disappointment all round!

We have dined here on previous occasions & have had a great meal. This occasion was still as good as before. My wife had cocktails which were made excellent they seem to take care of every cocktail they make "Pink Lady" was my wife's favorite tipple & it certainly meet with her approval again. Starters were Prawns with sourdough bread griddled with Aioli This time they only put a small amount of Aioli directly on the plate, not in a pot so there was not nearly enough. We asked for a little more & without any fuss bought us a pot of Aioli. This dish was really nice prwans cooked perfectly & the Sourdough bread griddled was great. A really good starter.Mains my wife chose the Slow Roast Pork Belly, Braised Cheek,Apple, Cider Jus This was very nice the pork tasted seperb as was the presentation. I had the 28 Day Salt Aged Beef 14oz Porterhouse Steak this came with Portobello Mushroom Tomato & french Fries The steak was fantastic tender Tasty & cooked just as i asked, A really fabulous meal . I think if they gave you the option of triple cooked fat chips or french fries that would be the icing on the cake!!For sweet we shared the Iced Salted Caramel Parfait, Candied Almonds, Honeycomb, this again was nice. The whole evening was a pleasure the staff are friendly & professional & the service excellent. We will be returning very soon....

Visited this restaurant for the first time to eat a week ago. I was really impressed by the choice on the menu, and as my wife is vegetarian, the choice was reasonable for her as well. We both really enjoyed our meals. The portion sizes were great and just right for starter / main / cheese and biscuits. The cooking really was outstanding, packed with flavour, and the ambience of the place was truly excellent - enhanced by a live jazz band playing unobtrusively in the corner (don't think you get that every night). The service was really excellent. Our waiter, Nathan, was very helpful, attentive and polite. All in all we will definitely be back. As a relatively new restaurant we were keen to try. We went twice in a week having managed to get a dog sitter. The first time we went was as a couple on a Friday and it was excellent. The Rib of Beef for 2 was superb and the service was excellent. Quite busy with a good buzzy atmosphere. Sadly it was raining and you've guessed it - outside on the pavement in the rain for a cigarette!! I think there was a back garden but they weren't opening the doors as they were keeping the heat in!! We enquired as to what was the best table and could we book it as we were bringing friends the following Tuesday. The second time was very quiet as you would expect on a Tuesday but I have to say if the best table is the one opposite the service door I would hate to sit at the worst. The service was OK but considering how quiet it was they could have been a bit more attentive. That said we ordered a Lemon Sole and asked if they could take it off the bone which they happily did. I would like to try once more to get an overall feeling for the place but certainly worth a try if you don't mind the possibility of a bit hit and miss in certain areas.

I visited here as a solo diner mid-week, a quiet Wednesday evening. The food and drinks were all of good quality. I went straight to mains with a rib eye steak with béarnaise sauce then followed with a cheese selection and then a chocolate tart to finish. All the food was delicious and no complaints whatsoever. My only gripe was the lack of knowledge of the waiting staff. When I asked for a carafe of the crianza (the only crianza on the menu) the waiter disappeared only to return moments later to verify what I had actually asked for. I clarified the Rioja and then he brought it over. When the cheese was brought out I asked for verification on which cheese was which... again he had to go and ask before he could tell me. Just little gripes, but things that service staff should know when working in a restaurant of this (or indeed any) caliber. A little more training for the staff from the management would ensure they know the products they are selling. Especially when you go to the trouble of making your staff wear white gloves to serve food. It implies a level of service that is just not quite up to par.... But I am just picking at finer points. All in all a good evening.

We dined here on Thursday evening, Upon arrival we were greeted by one of the waiters who asked us if we would like to sit at the bar & enjoy a drink before seating us at our table, We ordered a cocktail being the Grand Passionfruit Cosmopolitan The bar tender made a first class job of mixing the drink a proper cocktail at a very reasonable price, not like some so called cocktails where they stick a shot of gin dash of grenadine & some concentrated orange juice & call it a "Cocktail" this was made with care & attention to detail... It tasted superb... We took our seat for dinner studied the menu which was very good, not loads to choose from but not not to less either. For starters i chose the Boudin Blanc, Creamed Leeks, Truffle Jus. This was very nice the Creamed leeks really complemented the dish. My wife chose the Tiger Prawns, Herb Butter, Aioli, Sourdough this dish was very nice i tried one of the prawns they were fabulous juicy succulent tasty a real nice starter, I shall choose this starter next time for sure!!. For mains i had the Pan Roasted Hake,Shell fish Stew & creamed Mash. This dish was cooked & served perfectly the hake was really good fresh & tasted very good the shell fish stew was a nice touch although hardly a stew but tasted better than a stew!!!. My wife chose the Smoked Haddock Crushed Potatoes, Spinach, Poached Egg. This too was very well presented & tasted as good too. we ordered two side dishes the Roast Heritage Carrots, Honey & the Braised Red Cabbage. Both of these side dishes were good i think the Heritage Carrots were the best the honey & carrots were superb. All in all The Provenance is a smart restaurant offering good quality food & very good service. I was expecting the restaurant to lose the fine dining edge on a Sunday as it turned towards a hearty family favourite but I could not have been more wrong. The mains came with mash, roast potatoes, cabbage and, presented in their own individual bowls, cauliflower cheese and carrots & parsnips. Everything was seasoned to perfection.Without a doubt this is the place to go for a Sunday lunch which will fill you up and retain that sense of class which keeps the 'fine' in fine dining.

Lovely Restaurant with very stylish decor. There is an obvious attention to detail with everything, without anything feeling forced or over laboured. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. The staff were courteous and friendly. The menu was very appealing, and the food didn’t disappoint. Beautifully presented, and very tasty.I look forward to returning and wouldn’t hesitate recommending to others.

We booked here to celebrate my daughter's graduation and have to say it was simply the best food we have eaten. Lovely staff who we attentive but not pushy, great atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble. The food was exceptional and well worth the money. The manager (might have been the owner) was superb and clearly passionate about delivering excellent service. Everything about this place is outstanding and a must if wanting excellent food. Thank you for making the evening so perfect.

I had pork belly, I have had this many times in many quality restaurants. It was possibly 90% wobbly fat and 10% pork. (Quite disgusting ) Very tiny portions. Unless I'm missing something, I don't see anywhere it says fine dining ?! Even if it was, surely the food should be a good quality and well cooked. Won't be returning.

This was one of the best meals I have had outside of London. We started the evening with cocktails in the comfortable bar and followed up with some excellent, well presented food. I had the Wagyu beef, not normally available in the UK, which was excellent, and strongly recommended. There was a good choice to suit us all, including my daughter who has to have a gluten free diet. The service was excellent and the food was beautifully presented.

We visited on Friday 23rd October booking a table for 2. The food was excellent as was the price. No complaints. It wasn't very busy and for some reason when called to book a table for 7.30pm I was asked if I could make 7pm (which I couldn't) but the venue clearly wasn't pushed for numbers.Overall a pleasant experience.

Lunched here with my wife and we both had a great time - excellent staff and service albeit restaurant was quiet. The food was excellent - perfectly cooked fish and calves liver dishes and very nice starters and desserts. We decided to try two of the dessert cocktails as we'd never seen these on a menu - both were fabulous - a vodka/limoncello based drink topped with burnt meringue foam was almost a dessert in itself, and the bourbon, vanilla, cinnamon, Apple .....could be Worcester's most important secret recipe since the sauce - well worth dropping in just to try these. The whole experience turned our lunch into something special - thanks to the team

Superb restaurant serving top quality food. The restaurant was alarmingly quiet, even allowing for the fact it was mid-week, but this reflects the lack of discernment of the potential clientele rather than the quality of the restaurant. Very good veloute followed by a truly excellent piece of venison. Dessert consisted of a Yorkshire Parkin, which also did not disappoint. Wine list seemed reasonably comprehensive and very reasonably priced. Well worth a return visit.

My friend and I had pre booked otherwise we certainly wouldn't have got a table. We ordered our starters which were: Cauliflower Voulete (soup) and my friend ordered grilled prawns with leaves. My soup was tasty, a bit too much cream for my taste. My friend loved the prawns but some of the salad leaves were very bitter and she said that detracted from the grilled prawn taste. Mains: I ordered the Caprese Salad, comprising of fresh Mozzarella with tomatoes and leaves. It really was quite small portion and with a £15 price tag was somewhat pricey. Luckily we had ordered mash, carrots and cabbage, otherwise I would have been hungry with my small salad! Also as my friend mentioned earlier, some of the salad leaves were bitter! She ordered the risotto, which she loved. There were 2 sittings and as soon as we had finished our meal, we felt the pressure of having to vacate the table for the new arrivals. Service was good, efficient and charming.

We had a lovely evening here, the service was in the main good and we really enjoyed the menu. It's not a cheap restaurant but not the most expensive we have eaten in by a long stretch. The table next to us seemed less than impressed with the size of the portions and the whole experience but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We both chose a starter and main and if I had one comment it would be that the menu does not state or even show that main dishes are served with anything and we therefore chose two side dishes, one of which was potato. It was slightly annoying to find that when both dishes arrived potato was already part of the plate - perhaps something our waiter could and should have mentioned when he took our order - which is why I have only rated the service below as average! We would definitely return but probably for a special occasion rather than just a night out.

Best Sunday lunch I've had in town. Other places you tend to find the beef is dry but this time it was nice, moist, perfectly cooked. The pork belly was a very generous portion, crackling was a perfect mix of crisp and crunchy, it was beautiful! This is the second time I've visited and was not disappointed. These guys are keeping their high standards! I cannot wait to come back for more!

I wish I have visited it sooner. The only place that serves Wagon beef in Worcester. It was melt in the mouth delicious. My partner had a flat iron steak and that was the best steak she's had. We both absolutely enjoyed the experience from the moment we walked in. Absolutely amazed by the attention to detail! We will definitely be back soon. This town needed such a place long time ago!

A Lunchtime visit to this very pleasant restaurant. The menu is a bit limited and pricey. The food was generally OK but not value for money. A pretentious wine list with little choice in the affordable range for lunch. The staff were very friendly with good and prompt service. Would probably not visit again unless the menu is more comprehensive. A good atmosphere though.

I was somewhat disappointed when I booked for lunch here. Maybe I made a bad choice for my main course, ( having skipped a starter in favour of a dessert!!) I chose the calves liver which, when it arrived whilst the flavour was lovely, the liver was very chewy, stringy and quite difficult to cut. It was placed on a tiny offering of potato puree which again tasted very nice but, to be honest I was left wishing I'd ordered a sandwich! I was so disappointed I did not even bother to order a dessert, I just wanted to leave. Also, whilst there were only 4 tables in the restaurant for lunch, the background music was so loud it was impossible to conduct a conversation. We were left waiting for our drinks and had to ask again when our lunch was served, service was incredibly slow. When we paid the bill, the shift had changed, the replacement staff showed no concern about our poor service, I guess they felt it wasn't their fault. Reading other reviews, perhaps we picked a bad day.

Came here with a group of 10 for a birthday celebration and there's no other place in Worcester I would go back to for a similar occasion. The kitchen hosts a team led by a Head and Sous Chef with Michelin experience that are constantly experimenting and tweaking dishes so it is no wonder that the food they are turning out was superb. I had the duck which was cooked perfectly and the presentation was a feat for the eyes.Me and my friends had three courses and all thoroughly enjoyed it, the staff were extremely helpful and the kitchen accommodating as they agreed to modify one of the dishes containing meat to suit a vegetarian. We might have been a bit ambitious and a couple of guests couldn't finish their pudding but staff were more than happy to wrap it up for later! The restaurant is beautifully done inside and has a deliciously inviting cocktail menu - the pink lady is my top recommendation! The staff were lovely, they knew it was my birthday and gave us some complimentary fizz which made us feel it was a really special evening. We also weren't rushed at all throughout the night and were shocked to realise we had been there over three hours! It's only a matter of time before this place gets some rosettes under it's belt and I would definitely return both with a big group or for an intimate dinner. It isn't a cheap place but it is well worth the money and you get the dining experience you pay for.

This was a special dinner and expectations were high. I found this restaurant on TripAdvisor and was hoping for the best. We were not disappointed. We had the seared scallops with apple and carrot purée as a starter. Perfectly cooked and tasted wonderful. And King scallops. Not little things. I had the chicken breast with pancetta Borlotti bean cassoulet and some rosemary garlic new potatoes. This was a large supreme of chicken and the cassoulet was rich and intense. The garlic potatoes were lovely. Excellent flavours. My wife had Smoked haddock, crushed potatoes, spinach, and poached egg. Cooked perfectly. The egg was spot on. Just runny. We would have tried the excellent Cheeseboard but did not have any room left! Highly recommended. One to return to again.

My husband and I decided to try this for a rare evening out together. We walked in on a Tuesday evening and were immediately seated. It was busy for a Tuesday evening but there were plenty of seats available. The wine list is extensive and the menu covered all wishes. The haddock and poached egg was simply lovely, and although I don't usually have dessert, I was tempted by the Parkin and Calvados syrup, which we shared. This was simply gorgeous. The overall experience was quite simply the best dining experience we have had in Worcester; the staff were friendly and attentive, but not intrusive, the restaurant is light and airy with a lovely ambience, and the food was superb. We cannot wait for another free evening to go again.

The staff are welcoming, friendly, extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about the food and drinks menus. The service was excellent. The choice of food available is a little different from many menus at other venues which is a good point, I think! I had the hake dish for my main which was cooked to perfection. The presentation was beautiful and the taste was delicate but stunning. The venue itself has been very tastefully decorated and furnished with the dining tables well organised. The bar area is elegant and inviting, there is great attention to detail throughout. Cant wait to go back, definitely the place to go in Worcester!

Food:Exquisite combination of flavour, rich and satisfying with the perfect amount. Presentation is beautiful and compliments the dish. Drinks:Inventive and shows initiative and creativity. Flavours ,like the food, are expertly combined to create unique and tasteful flavours. Service:Delightful, welcoming and professional. Expert advice on drinks and food. Constructive:Upon entry for new customers could be confusing, not knowing where to be going around the bar or to a table, however the staff is welcoming and helpful enough to make this not an uncomfortable experience. Overall: This is an affordable yet an incredibly high quality dining experience with keen and delightful staff who are attentive and intelligent in their craft.

What an amazing venue, attention to detail in providing such excellent service. From the moment you step in the door to the moment you depart you become the number one concern of the talented and professional staff. Starting off with a fabulous whisky sour hand mixed at the bar to the most exquisite food. Care is taken over everything from craft bread and charcuterie to the most sublimely cooked Sole. With attentive table staff you could not have a finer dining experience. The Cheeseboard is perhaps the best I have ever experienced in a restaurant and I would recommend the cheese connoisseurs to make sure they try the full board at least once. Ending the evening with the Bar Manager's choice for another cocktail resulted in a smooth smoky whisky cocktail that delighted the taste buds. Celebrating a Birthday with my son we finished with a beautiful 15 year old Oban. This was an experience I would love to repeat, and this truly is an establishment were every member knows their craft.

A great addition to the Worcester dining scene, which is desperately in need of a high end restaurant. Everything about the place - the decor, service, food - is top notch. Given that the menu reads as somewhat meat-heavy, the vegetarian dishes were surprisingly delicious. Service was young, keen and delightful. Will definitely be back.

Four friends looking for a good value, quality place for lunch and that is what we found. The service is impeccable. The house wines excellent. The menu had enough choice to make it interesting but not so many that you get worried if they are going to be up to scratch. The very good value main dishes were faultless ( except my need for salt and pepper on the carrots with my fish pie)- calves liver, steak, hake and fish pie. Perfect portions and taste and served on lovely plates, not that ghastly slate that is so common nowadays. Flowers on the table were lovely as were he water glasses on the table and the complimentary water. Cotton napkins- how nice Our waiter, Joshua, was charming and attentive- how nice to have your wine topped up nowadays. The manageress also had a great style. And not one "enjoy!"- which I hate. Well priced espresso coffee in lovely cups and a little lemon meringue to accompany- all for £1.50- wow. I cannot praise this place enough. next time< will try some of the bar drinks- what a choice. The best lunch I have ever had in Worcester. ( I do not know the owners- this is totally unbiased)

Horrendous - put two orders in for next day delivery £20 in delivery fees. One order wasn’t processed at all the other wasn’t delivered! Huge waste of time and money 3-5 days for a refund even though they didn’t supply a single thing promised. The first one it took 5 attempts to contact customer service to get a response and the second quicker to get through but still highly inconvenient sitting on online chat.

Not good! Went for a late lunch at the weekend. Sticky overflowing tables, sticky floor, dirty toilets. So many problems again (we've been a few times, it's rapidly going downhill.) Long delays ordering then waiting for drinks and meals. Getting served at the bar is an ongoing problem. With no proper queuing system...it's a nightmare free for all, after 15mins+ this causes understandable customer tension/ staff stress. It's not nice! Today's incredibly rude barman liked to serve his mates/ or really loud pushy blokes. He got shouty with a small family trying to order food (that had run out) and when they didn't understand he refused to serve them for being rude (they weren't!) cancelled their order and walked away leaving them bewildered at the bar. Interesting that he didn't do that with the large group of worse for wear, sweary, revellers on a pub crawl, pushing infront of young families and the elderly locals. It's a lovely old building in a good central location but the kitchen and staff are over stretched with regular staff, food and drink shortages (really how can you run out of the basics?) Needs sorting out at a higher management level to give the genuinely nice frontline staff a fighting chance! (Except for the rude barman who should be removed and retrained asap.) I'd swerve this bar until it's been overhauled. There are plenty of other local food and drink options (including a cracking, well run Weatherspoons a few miles away.) Taxi!
