Limited starters and only pizza for main course. No mention of this when we booked. Waitress forgot to bring menus and take order. We had to chase. Only 2 choices for a bottle of white wine. Took 45 minutes for starters to arrive. We should have left.

Booked the Buck three weeks in advance because the menu was varied. When we arrived we were handed a menu of starters & just pizzas. Three of the five starters were unavailable & two of the pizzas. When my calzone pizza did arrive it was burnt and I mean I had to chop the top off to find very little filling. Just lots of dough. Really disappointed as I had booked my last meal out for a while with my sister who has cancer. Very poor

Rang to book a table and was not told they only serve pizza. When we arrived it was too late to go elsewhere. Surprise Surprise we had a pizza. It was poor. Seen more filling in a tooth. The place was deserted and I know why. RUBBISH.

We have been to the Buck twice in the last week with different members of the family who had travelled a distance. The first time on a Sunday we waited 1hour 10 minutes to receive our meal. When the meal finally arrived the Sunday dinners were good but the wait was terrible and we were not served in turn. The three chidren were fed up and starving and had a late 2 hour journey home afterwards. In the past we have enjoyed meals at the Buck so on Saturday, with different visitors, we tried again having been promised the service would be better. The drinks were served quickly but that was it. The menu was entirely pizzas with some starters and a childrens menu. One of our party is vegetarian and there was only a starter suitable for her. After an HOUR we finally got the in adequate food, despite promises that it would be quick. Perhaps they were trying to be kind saying that they could accommodate us but they should have said they were not serving meals because of staff shortages (1 chef only). All our party had to eat extra food when we got home. We will not be back until we are reliably informed that the place has improved a great deal. Very, very disappointing.

We ordered 2 pizzas for takeaway, they were EXCEPTIONAL ! This is the kind of pizza we LOVE. Super fresh, zero grease. Great quality ingredients. Staff were professional and friendly. COVID guidelines were strictly in place, which definitely makes us feel comfortable coming back for a sit in meal. We look forward to tasting the rest of the menu and have high hopes, as the standard served to us has set the bar high. Great job

This was our first visit on Sunday to the Buck since it was reopened. We thought we'd try the Sunday lunch and how pleasantly surprised we were with the quality. We'd always liked the buck and it's homely tasty menu coupled with the cosy atmosphere in the bar by the open fire. But they have now taken the food to another level. It was superb, great choices and quality. It puts The Buck up there with the other quality local Sunday lunch venue's. It may be a little more expensive but it's worth it!!

We live 2 minutes walk from the Buck, and have watched skips filling up over the past couple of months so it was with some trepidation we decided to have a lunchtime refresher alter the weekly market. Inside it was much the same but had had a general freshing up. The young staff were welcoming and friendly but Covid regulations reassuringly seriously. The beer was fresh and bright and we were told it had been re-piped. The offerings were Landlord, Blacksheep, Wainwright, Old Perculiar and a red Shepherd Neame- something for everyone. The light bite menu looked tempting as did their own range of speciality coffee. The black board menu had pub favourites, but the main menu bead definitely Italian, plus a Sunday lunch menu all again tempting but perhaps a bit pricey for some people but reflect the cost of running a pub in the Dales. However if the quality is good they could be good value and we intend to give them a try soon.

Popped in on A Sunday night in March and expected one man and his dog. Was quite busy with a bunch of people having a pool tournament. Nice atmosphere. Traditional Yorkshire Inn feel in the front room. Bar, coal fire etc. Had black sheep ale and was a perfect pint. They do the usual hearty Inn menu but also a separate pizza and kebab menu so popped back for tea the next day to eat a home made pizza and cheesy home made chips. Spot on! Also a bonus for being dog friendly and a regular having a friendly dog to meet visitors!

We booked table for dinner weeks before our arrival and specifically asked to be seated in the dining room, but when we got there, we shown to a table in the bar as the dining room was fully booked. That was a disappointing start to the evening.Service was slow and the atmosphere was not welcoming. The food, when it arrived was not inspiring and my pasta dish, which, although tasty enough, was swimming in so much oil that I had to leave half of it.I know there had been flooding in the area so it was not surprising that the place was not 100%, but there is no excuse for dirty, sticky tables and poor service. It’s a real shame because we have eaten there many times in the past, however, based on this experience, we are unlikely to return in a hurry.

The pub was lovely and the beer was nice. Unfortunately we found the food to be pretty dull and not very good. We are regular visitors to the area, having use of a holiday home near Leyburn, and the pubs in the area are amongst the best in the land. Unfortunately, this place was way off the mark. Called in at lunch time for a pint and a half of real ale before heading out on our walk. Over £7 for the round seemed expensive but hey ho. Decent pint if I’m honest. No issues there. Young lad behind the bar far from engaging with a couple ahead of me who tried to engage him in conversation, but again thought no more of it. 11 miles and a few hours later, returned to the bar ravenous, having seen the lamb shank on the menu which we both fancied. Managed to find a table inside and although far from busy, that and a number of other tables were filthy. Mrs B was driving so off to the bar to be served by the same young bar man. Attitude was far from friendly, and had to really bite my tongue to not tell him to cancel the drinks order. Back to the table. Young waitress, far from busy, walked past a number of times and looked at the mess on the table (ketchup wrappers, dirty cutlery and pizza cutter and dirty surface). After 15 minutes with no sign of the table being cleaned, walked out. Would have happily spent a good £70 by my reckoning, but your staff are letting you down in the attitude stakes. There are far better pub options in the area where you don’t feel like an inconvenience to the young staff.

We had a quick beer - Theakstons pale ale here at the end of our walk and before making our way to Cambridge House - a very stylish B&B; a short walk away. In contrast The Buck is lid back and slightly shambolic in a comforting sort of way. The style is that of an old coaching inn and it is easy to imagine the place a generation ago. serving travellers as it does now. In the evening we enjoyed a good meal with fellow walkers and we appreciated the attentive service from the young waiter. The black bean and chickpeas curry was an excellent vegan dish and the fish and chips generous, although the chips were a bit soggy. Chose this place as it had vegan options, advertised chilli with vegan sour cream but served it with regular sour cream. I asked waiter to check and he confirmed it was not vegan - and the vegan item was not available!!! Luckily I did not eat it without checking and i am glad he realised although I had said I was vegan at the outset. Ditto with (expensive) bread and oil&balsamic; (£5:95), came it cheesy bread, then replaced with four slices of french stick - boring! Too much chilli for the rice and no salad included. They are trying by having a vegan option but it would be great to have a vegan dessert too, and include a side salad like the meat dishes had. £20 pounds when the omnis paid #10 for their food, which included bread and salad. TV dominated the eating area. we could not get in on first try, although there were empty tables outside. We had to book a day ahead for next nightso they do limited amount of tables. My daughter and I had dinner here. It was crowded and we had to wait but there are lots of picnic tables out front so we got a beer and waited outside. We met so many nice people and its dog friendly so four legged friends as well. Food was good.

Went in twice for drinks and planned to eat here but on both occasions the welcome was, well was not there - in any shape or form. I know the hotel probably doesn’t need the business and that is the impression it gave. All the bar staff needed to do was smile, say hello and look interested.

Can't fault the service but food wasn't great and overpriced in my opinion. £13 for a steak (and ale? ...couldn't taste any ale) pie which was dry and could tell meat wasn't fresh, grey in colour and chewy in places. Pastry tasteless. Shame when you pay for meal out and feel you could cook something better at home! Like to support Dales pubs but felt ripped off. Won't be going back for another meal here.

We loved the easy-going atmosphere and diverse menu at The Buck Inn. It makes this picturesque country pub an attractive destination for walkers and foodies. Vegans and vegetarians are accommodated by at least five hearty dishes, all beautifully presented and equally delicious. The eating area offers a cosy section to sit by the blazing log-fire or a more spacious and sunny area by a large window from which you can look out over the village of Reeth.

Booked as busy for bank holiday. Burgers all round- 8oz venison for Mr and veggie for me. Mr said his was delicious and perfectly cooked to his liking and mine was tasy and substantial. Only downside was waiting time - almost 50 mins from ordering - waiting staff were very apologetic.

When driving from the "Stang" to Reeth, and then onwards, we usually have lunch at the CB Inn.

Visited on the Sunday with family for lunch. Had a Yorkshire pudding with ‘all the trimmings’ - which was a frozen Shop bought pudding, frozen peas and beef all of which was bland.

30/4/18--5/5/18 Seven Kent Ramblers stayed here after being recommended by some of my friends, Julie and Roy and staff did us proud with excellent selection of food and drinks and after walking an average of 10-12 miles daily there was lashings of hot water and very comfy beds at night. This is a great place to unwind with friends or even if your a C2C walker, would recommend and look forward to a returning.

Situated next to the village green of one of the most beautiful villages visited on the walk. The room and food were first class and just what is needed after a long walk. The landlord was extremely helpful and a nice guy for a chat after a long day of seeing very few people. Note their top room is superb with a role top bath and all the whistles and bells for that special occasion. Highly recommended.

Visited most of the pubs and cafes in Reeth during the recent weather challenged Easter break. Had booked a table as it was Easter, greeted by warm pub and quick service for drinks. Food was good and served reasonably quickly, service was also pretty good.

We visited Granny's Kitchen several times during our shirt stay in Richmond. The food is really good - tasty, homemade and good value. We had savoury meals in the main and cuppas - coffee and tea. The

Just had the privilege of enjoying the first famous pies of Stu's new tenancy. As good as they ever were we had a splendid meal. Steak and Ale and Rabbit pies washed down with some great real ales. Oh
