Had an amazing Sunday roast, all food is freshly cooked and hot, great choice of starters, mains and desserts all looked lovely, homely atmosphere and friendly staff, we will highly recommend to family and friends 😊😋

Lovely summer day went for a lovely drink with my friend enjoyed a few drinks and lovely dessert 🍨 landlady sam was lovely very welcoming staff was great too will definitely be coming back x

Went to the Broad Oak having booked a table for 7pm. We arrived early. Lovely barmaid, very friendly and attentive. She let us know there was a big party in the garden and there would be a wait, she asked if that was OK and we said yes. We asked if there was anything off the menu and we were told no. We waited quite a while for our food but when it arrived it was good, we enjoyed it. Now here comes the negative and its a big negative. We were there for my 60th birthday. We decided to have desserts, to be told that the kitchen said they weren't taking any more food orders. I pointed out that we weren't just starting our meal this was to finish it off. She went to the kitchen and came back and said sorry I tried he says no. I told her we were very disappointed, she offered us a free drink which we refused. She was very apologetic and we said it's not your fault. It left a very sour note on what was the last of my 60th celebrations. When we left we saw the chef squatting in the car park, we saw someone that had just been served their food as well. This was at 8.20, the board outside shows that food is served until 9. Perhaps the chef couldn't be bothered.

Excellent food and service. Food delicious. Staff go out of their way to make sure your visit is enjoyable. Good value for money

Disappointed by the food, but nice village pub. I ordered lamb cutlets @ £18.99, which turned out to be overpriced for the quality. The ‘sauté’ potatoes were burnt and hard, and possibly re-heated leftover roast potatoes. The broccoli had yellowing heads (indicating out of date). The lamb was tasty but overcooked. No gravy was served or offered which left the meal dry. However, it’s a nice looking village pub with lots of potential…just let down by the quality of the food.

19 of us went for Mothers Day at short notice!!! I can’t praise this pub enough, We all had the Sunday Lunch which was excellent, and amazingly all came out together, starters and desserts were very tasty and the service was exceptional. Would definitely recommend and we will be back soon Thank You.

has got to be the best food ever family of four adults and one toddler our little grand son was treated like a little lord staff got him toys out and lucky our daughters dog was even given a comfy blanket to rest on too the food order was taken by Dan ultra fast service exceptionally attentive and very very friendly nothing was too much for him food was really great nice portions and piping hot cooked to perfection and excellent value for money

Visited the pub this morning for the first time ever. Was made to feel extremely welcome and things only improved when I received my food. Food was lovely, hot and fresh quality produce. Can't wait to return and try some of the delicious sounding meals that were advertised on the chalkboards

I had reserved a table for Me and my fiance for an evening meal and this pub had a tremendous selection of meals on there menu catered very well for all food communities I however went with there house burger and it was absolutely fantastic it bear me I couldn't eat it all my partner had a jacket potato she loved it with the extra things she had with it I couldn't recommend the pub enough the banter and sass between the staff behind the bar was hilarious can't wait to come back again for food !

We were a group of 30, booked for 2pm, the roast chicken was dry, roast potatoes burnt, green beans not tipped in fact inedible. The apple crumble was solid.A friend had a burnt nut roast. We waited an hour between courses finally getting our puds at 4.10. There was not enough staff, 3 in total including the chap from behind the bar…

A great pub, really friendly and welcoming staff and an awesome Sunday Lunch. Would thoroughly recommend for both Sunday Lunch or during the week.

There are many benefits to living out in the middle of nowhere, the quiet, the clean air, the excuse to own very large power tools etc, but there are also drawbacks, the local pub is either brilliant or awful and Deliveroo is an exciting novelty that you hear about, but aren’t quite sure what it does. Thankfully in Broad Oak we are incredibly lucky to have “The Broad Oak” as our local pub. We have been there a number of times both for dinner, drinks and organised events and always had a wonderful experience. The food is good and the portions are reassuringly large. Indeed the Broad Oak burger is so large it makes you wonder how exactly you are going to manage to take the first bite, nevermind whether you will finish the meal. They also do take away which is fantastic for those evening when you really can’t be bothered to cook. The take away is always well packaged and seems to lose nothing in terms of taste during the drive home. The staff here have always been lovely and that is something to be praised as well. So often country pub staff are friendly to regulars and a bit dismissive of “outsiders”. I have never seen that be the case here. Everyone is welcomed and treated well. A credit to the landlords.

Went with a ramble club of 18 people for lunch on a very hot day. I had sent menu requests in advance and they were all fulfilled perfectly. The food was of a very high standard and plentiful. The staff were very helpful and attentive Would thoroughly recommend this pub for your event

Jantar e assistir a um concerto. O jantar muito bom, desde a entrada à sobremesa passando pelo prato principal. Local muito simpático. Mas no final puseram a banda a atuar numa sala separada sem ninguém. Foi uma pena. Claro que fomos para lá ver a banda mas não era esse o propósito.

We were a group of over twelve members. Sad that even when pre-booked and also pre-ordered that our meals were in most cases reheated or had been kept hot for far too long. The steak pie had the hardest pastry I have ever experienced. The majority of us were dissatisfied with the quality of our food and will not be returning.

We wanted a filling Sunday lunch and we certainly got value for money. It was the perfect place to enjoy celebratory food and they did all they could to accommodate one of our group who had special food requirements. The banoffee pie was incredible. All in all, a jolly good meal!!! Thank you.

Food beyond average, service awful, atmosphere worse! We got the feeling they were annoyed we ordered food, half the menu they didn't have either!

We have visited The Broad Oak a few times now for food & it never fails to disappoint! Always a warm atmosphere upon arrival, great service, excellent choice of food & the food is always delicious. Dog friendly too and a lovely touch that they offer a dog bed for your furry friend. Keep up the good work guys - lovely pub, staff & food!

Unfortunately after being recommended, we all found it a bit underwhelming. Service was slow and pretty non existent, food was very average and lots of salt used. Salmon and prawns was just lots of salad tiny prawns and no dressing most of it was left, satay chicken tasteless and very stodgy no spice at all, bland. It was quiz night which was good and we had a nice evening but won’t be rushing back for food unfortunately.

The pub is very clean and inviting with friendly staff at the bar. They told us when we came in that they were short staffed that day, drinks were served and menus given when we arrived. Our order was taken after about 20 minutes and our food came about 1/2 an hour after that so the waiting time was ok despite staffing issues. When our food arrived it was hot and tasty with good sized portions. We also had some really delicious sticky toffee sponge and chocolate mousse. Our meal was spoiled a little by the constant and loud complaints of another customer sitting nearby who became louder and ruder despite the attention from staff (who were polite and reasonable) If you are the woman in the white knit dress who was in the pub this afternoon I think you should know that your dining companions (I assume family) felt they needed to apologise on your behalf after your dramatic exit.

We were staying in the area and booked as it was close to our Airbnb. Staff were really friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were ok - even booked a taxi home for us! We both ordered steaks which were cooked to perfection. Only critique would be that the options on the wine menu were quite limited.

Saturday early evening, several menu items unavailable. Food was unimpressive and the service very poor. Lack of staff? Bar staff too busy watering plants to check if we wanted more drinks, or were happy with our food.

We waited nearly an hour for a vegan burger which, on the vegan menu, came with coleslaw. It didn’t, it came with a very dull side-salad and when I questioned them they told me the coleslaw wasn’t vegan. Despite being on the vegan menu. There was no apology. Added to this they don’t seem to know how to keep their real ale. I’ve never seen a landlady struggle so much pulling a pint in my life! Don’t waste your time!

The roasts here are nice but if you are ordering off the normal menu you are left with not much variation to choose from. The chips tasted like freezer jobbys. Very overpriced for the quality of food.

We were camping nearby so we stopped for dinner there. The crew is amazing, the portions are huge, but I personally didn’t like the fish they served as fish and chips. I had fudge sundae as desert and that was stunning 💕 my bf had sort of chocolate pie and he also loved.

Friendly staff, very attentive. Good menu and good food. Nice garden with climbing frame for the kids. Ideal pub for a hot Sunday.
