The manager and Chef were great. Food was pretty good as well. Had an issue once we went to order dessert and was told the kitchen was closed. 45 min went by the entire time food was coming out. The bar keep was not polite in the manner they went about anything. If the kitchen was backed up with orders they should have worded it that way. But saying they are closed and refusing service while we have been there for 3 hours eating and drinking is ridiculous.

Very disappointing Sunday roast (pork & lamb), pork was tough & vegetables massively overcooked. Roast potatoes, & you only got 2 small ones, were almost burnt. The gravy was so thick it made the whole meal soft. It was almost like the meals were already dished up & kept warm until someone ordered them - they can out very quickly. Such a shame as we were so looking forward to our meal. Probably won’t eat a roast here again.

We visited for a belated mothers day meal with family. The menu is extensive & not particularly over priced however 2/5 melas we had were short of the mark. I order roast lamb as we rarely have it home/ thought it would be nice for a change. What (lamb) arrived looked like is had come out of the bottom of a spam tin. It was a compressed/ reconstituted shredded lamb. Quite peculiar & not awful to eat but certainly not 'roast lamb'. Sadly (& more importantly) our mums fish & chips was dreadful. It looked like the fish had been battered & cooked more than once & it was rock solid. The burger, roast beef & roast chicken all seemed okay. Our mum isn't one to complain (especially for a mothers day meal) so my sister swapped plates at the end & tried to give the server some constructive feedback. She said something along the lines of "I think you should know that the fish was almost inedible look, it's rock solid." The young wait refrained from apologising & said he'd let the kitchen know. We waited for about 30 minutes chatting in the hope that a manager would come out &, at the very least, acknowledge the comments but to no avail. Sadly I think we won't be back, it seems a convenient venue that I'd suggest you pass on.

While the service was great, I’m afraid we really didn’t have a great experience with the food. The brioche buns were stale, the fish was lukewarm and coleslaw was definitely past its use by date. £100 was a lot to spend on something that was well below average, and frankly inedible. Not a great Mother’s Day. We’ve loved visiting The Bridge in the past, so as you can imagine we were disappointed. A complaint was made privately to The Bridge but we have received no response.

Not my first time to the Bridge but my first review. Live in Spain and on a brief visit to family decided on the Bridge for lunch. Wow! Had good meals here before but this was exceptional. The coconut rice bowl ,I had it with chicken , was delicious.Lots of veg and the addition of pickled ginger was inspired! Oh they also didnt judge me for getting fries as well! I wouldn't have if I'd know how good it was going to be.Lovely friendly service as well. Totally reccomend.

Hello To whom it may concern Thank you for the invitation Unfortunately my family and I will never eat at The Bridge again. We had an awful experience. In January I came from Brighton to my sister who lives locally. We came with the expectation of really good food and service as we have previously eaten at your pub/restaurant .. and we’ve always been very impressed with the food. We ordered from the menu .. my sister and I ordered the belly pork, my partner a burger .. my child a burger from the child menu. The food arrived.. the belly pork for us both was completely uneatable.. neither of us could cut it with our cutlery!!. The crackling hadn’t been cooked the meat was completely tough .. we approached the staff at the bar . I explained the situation to what I assume was the senior staff member. It was a tall guy with a beard.. there was no apology.. he came out with stake knifes !! His effort to amend the situation. Both of us said no thank you .. to which a young waiter offered to replace our meals .. bearing in mind my husband had child had nearly finished by the time our replacement meal arrived .. which to be honest was equally as dreadful. No effort was made to improve the service or experience from the senior staff ,no offer of hospitality or grace given. The meals that replaced our first choice were cheaper.. but no refund of the cost was given or offered.. no apology at all . The most emphatic staff member was the table waiter.. who clearly wasn’t the most senior staff member. A really sad , uneventful lunch and family meet up.. which was a shame as usually the food , atmosphere and service is very good and memorable. To add to that .. we then bought another drink a small “coke” which was served in a child’s glass as no others were available.. apparently!!. I’m sorry to complain but it was dreadfu

We got into a habit of regularly having a roast at the bridge in 2023 but there was a bit of a decline in the quality and enjoyment of the roast towards the end of 2023. We visited today again for the first time and are delighted that the roasts are back at their best! Large portions of meat, loads of different vegetables, good yorkie and thick meaty gravy. The sides of pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese were also great! We had sticky toffee pudding and brownie for pudding which were also much improved, warm, comforting and delicious.

If you like beer which tastes like vinegar, then this is the place for you! Thankfully it wasn’t just the HopHead, the Revelation and London Pride were also akin to a strong balsamic too. Not sure Fullers would have expanded beyond Chiswick if their beer & customer service were as awful as we experienced today. After raising our concerns about the quality of the beer we were offered replacements, which were also awful (cloudy, gummy and heavy on the vinegar) we then asked for a refund which instead of being greeted with apologies we had indignation and argument (not what you’d expect or want) We did eventually get a refund but it was offered with no apology and further rudeness. As a Shoreham resident I was embarrassed that I chose to take my family to The Bridge today, which is a shame as previous visits have been great. We shall not return and I advise you, my friends and fellow beer lovers to try one of the many nicer drinking establishments Shoreham has to offer!

Not so long ago The Bridge was the place to go to for decent pub food. However, how things have changed!!! 2nd time i been for dinner here in last few months and although the staff remain very friendly and efficient and good well kept beer......... the food is nothing short of terrible. One of our party ordered a beef burger which arrived dry and over cooked with dry and overcooked thin 'french fries'. Others had chunky oven chips with their meal. Overall, very disappointing and will be trying other Shoreham eateries instead. Seems a shame as the location is good as is the beer.

Sunday roast was very disappointing- smothered in gloopy gravy - everything looked the same - brown … meat was fatty. One of the group had lamb and said that was ok. Food was just warm. Only veg was cabbage and some pretty tasteless red cabbage. Sticky toffee pudding came out tepid and floating in sauce and the ice cream had all but melted before it reached us. We paid and didn’t complain and put it down to experience. Shame as we have had a good steak in there recently. I doubt we would be back to eat although it’s a great spot for a summer evening drink.

Have never eaten here before and done so for the first time today. The steak sandwich with fries was very good and came with rocket and a chilli type jam inside it. The pork belly was also very good I’m told and the portions of pork were huge. The pub has a big outside area overlooking the river and a dining area. On the tiger side of the bar the area often seems unused, but with that included it’s quite a big site. The beers on offer do the job with a few cask ales on offer - Pride is pretty much always on and usually there’s some Dark Star offerings too. The waitress was very friendly too and amicable. It was nice the exercise the option to order drinks at the bar too as a pub purist. Would definitely come here again for food having been many times for drinks.

What a disappointing experience made worse by an unprofessional manager, who is clearly not able to speak to customers. We went to celebrate my friend's birthday and ordered steak, which was excellent by the way. Unfortunately the waitress dropped two glasses of RED wine over a yellow dress I was wearing. She gave us towels to dry up. My friends finished their meals as I had to wait for another steak as my food was swimming in red wine. The manager barely acknowledge the incident. No apologies offered immediately after, neither was an offer forthcoming for a free drink or a discount on the bill. Strange and not what you'd expect after I had to spent the evening covered in red wine. We were not best impressed, and thought she was not courteous or experienced in handling situations like that. My friend had to ask that we have a discount on the bill, so I was l clear that my steak should be taken off, at the very least. When the manager came, we were accused of having touched the waitress tray, hence the accident, which was untrue. We agreed it was an accident and it happens, but to then be accuse of causing it... I was speechless. We went outside and a distance from the pub, discussing what a unprofessional manager the lady was, just to be confronted by her, about us insulting her staff. We never exchanged words with her or the waitress, but to be followed outside it was ridiculous and beyond anything we could have expected. She managed to ruin our night with her attitude, when she lacked grace and finesse. Dreadful. This restaurant needs new management. Dress ruined too btw.

For under £9 l wasn't expecting a large portion but was pleasantly surprised. The sauce was absolutely delicious too. I was given a warm bowl of lemon water to clean my fingers, which was an unexpected bonus. The young members of staff have all received very good training and were attentive and conscientious throughout. Loved the surroundings too. In a world of over-priced mediocre pub food served by disinterested staff, The Bridge in Shoreham is like an oasis in the dire desert of hospitality.

We visited for last week, the location looking out over the terrace and the staff are lovely, but a massive massive shame about the food. Squid to start was somehow over cooked and chewy yet batter was anaemic, which we complained about. Then mains, I had a halloumi burger and my partner then chicken burger. Parts of his chicken was literally slimey, you picked it up off the plate and there was slime all over it and stringed back onto the plate. My halloumi burger was okay, expect for an unreasonable amount of sauce in it and the lettuce going a brown/black colour. We weren’t asked if our mains were okay even though we both left about half our food! Just cleared and a dessert brought over as a ‘sorry’ from the chef about the squid. Very nice gesture, but sadly the creme brûlée wasn’t much better. Sugar was burnt and the underneath wasn’t set properly, it was more of a liquid then a set dessert! Also, I was really excited to try one of the cocktails seen advertised on Facebook, to find out they only serve them Friday-Sunday??? You’re a pub! You must surely have the alcohol to make cocktails all week so why only serve them on a weekday? Very odd. We were so looking forward to trying this place but felt leaving like it was such a waste of £50-60.

Lovely pub specially on a sunny evening as the terrace has lots of options for sitting in the sun with a lovely view of the river. My partner has never had a bad steak from here and would highly recommend it but I was slightly disappointed with the seafood platter as the muscles were made in an tomato sauce that was too riched, served with a sweet toasted bread but no butter, side salad was not great and very dry as no dressing, the it was a cup of prawns and some deep fried sardines which were fine but nothing special. I will definitely come back, atmosphere is lovely but I'll have to think twice about my order next time 😅👍🏻

The Bridge Shoreham On the 27th May in the early evening myself, husband, mum and my two daughters came to your establishment to enjoy some food and drinks in the sunshine. We ordered food and wine and soft drinks. My eldest daughter is 14. She has numerous difficulties including autism and adhd. She had brought with her the rest of her bottle of orange juice which we had previously bought elsewhere. Being autistic she is exceptionally particular about her drinks. As it was a warm day I was pleased she was drinking. Your security guard on shift that evening came over with a blonde young waitress, very abruptly and accused my daughter of ‘bringing in cocktails from home’. We laughed thinking he was obviously joking until he told us we had broken the law and to immediately leave the premises. We showed him the bottle and explained that she is a child with extra needs. He simply continued to tell us to leave very loudly and accusingly. It was awful treatment , embarrassing and upsetting. We are a quiet family that had spent money and were minding our own business. We got up and left straight away. We quietly said to the doorman (please check cctv) at the front door that it would have been more appropriate to have quietly approached one of us adults and asked us to put the drink away, or allowed us to explain her needs. He simply kept repeating to us to leave in a very rude and condescending tone. As we walked away, he then turned to another gentleman standing in the doorway and said loud enough for all of us including our two children to hear ‘bunch of c!*ts!’ And laughed. This is absolutely horrific behaviour. We want an apology and an explanation. If my autistic is not allowed to have her leftover orange juice then surely an infant mustn’t eat baby food brought from home? Or formula milk?! Please offer us an explanation and an apology. Your security guard should be sacked.

Visited for lunch on a beautiful summer day, booked a table in the covered outside are with views accross the river which were much improved by the in coming tide. The food was good with fesh fish of the day available. Leave plenty of room for desert, the apple crunble is huge.

Great pub with friendly staff, fantastic outside area with river views and a good range of food and drink. Bonus points for being dog friendly. Gets very busy so worth booking.

This was our first time eating here, I chose to have the Charred Lobster and it was the most tastiest Lobster I have ever eaten. The service was absolutely fantastic, will definitely eat here again when we are camping in Brighton.

Terrible Lamb Shish,The salad was limp (days old) with tops of tomatoes thrown in. Some lamb chunks were just gristle & even a big piece of bone! The doner kebab had 2 10" hairs all through the meat!1

Initial greeting was very half-hearted, service throughout was very average. Didn’t feel overly welcome. For a Saturday afternoon it was quite empty. The food was pretty good - the experience would’ve
