Fantastic fish and chips every time you go in. It really is a .must go place to be. The service is friendly, you can take away or have delivery too.

A lovely fish and chip shop with great staff and service. We ate in and I never normally eat all the batter off the fish, but I made an exception as the batter was so thing and crispy. The portion sizes were great and the skinned cod had been cooked to perfection. We will definitely be going back again. Thank you Ropetackle Fish and Chips.

Becareful what you try to order, sit down menu not the same as one online. It was quite expensive. Think they have had a recent refurbishment, so quite clean and tidy.

Always a friendly welcome and good service here. Recently redecorated to give a more open and relaxed feel. Reliable fish and chips every time at a fair price.

I was the only person there but it was a late lunch. The food and service were both excellent. Fabulous chips and haddock all cooked fresh, to order.

A box of fluffy chips and a barista flat white from one shop, what more can you ask for? Other shops will struggle to compete with these chips 😲

Stopped here after a visit to the Ropetackle Centre. The fish was freshly cooked whilst we were there. Good cod and the mushy peas were good. Really liked the chips. Not cheap, but good quality and fresh.

Bloody nice. Crispy thin batter encasing perfectly cooked chunky cod, fresh cooked crunchy chips. Dont let looks deceive you. Definitely go there again 😁

We had a takeaway from here ( having previously eaten in house) and were very impressed that the short journey had not impaired the meal too much. Good sized portions ( one large chips was far too much for 2 ), lovely succulent cod and a nice light crisp batter.

The chips here are crispy not soggy, which makes a change. Having had fish twice, on one occasion the batter was light and crispy and the fish perfectly cooked. On the other, the batter was a little lacklustre, but the fish still well cooked. You can sit and eat inside (beer and wine are available) or take away.

We ordered dinner from here after recieving a menu in the post,we ordered 3 meals on friday night,we were most impressed all the food arrived hot and packed ready to eat from boxes. The chips were lovely and crispy and my husband and daughter said the fish was cooked to pefection.we will deffinatly be using them again

A very expensive box with half a spud not really blanched but more dipped like dipped in oil like a bit of old bread before frying it for breakfast experience here can not be an issue if want a box fish same as anywhere else as same suppliers if local show the suppliers ticket in window

Me and 3 friends decided to stop on a journey and have lunch here. Spotlessly clean, friendly staff and amazing fish and chips, batter was light and crisp fresh cod and outstanding chips. Would highly recommend stopping by here 👌.

Lovely staff who were very friendly! The venue itself was quite large with plenty of seating - it was quiet when we visited around 5:30pm on a Saturday but the phone for takeaway was busy! Ordered a large cod which comes with chips and tartar sauce, had a portion of mushy peas too! The meal was lovely, nice generous portion of chips and amazing fish. Just had a can of Dr Pepper to go alongside which was maybe a bit too pricey. All in all, lovely food, great service!!

For a basic fish and chip shop ,eat in,out or take away we have found the food here constantly good. We visit Shoreham often and for a no-frills meal this restaurant fits the bill for a fish and chip feast. No great surprises on the menu,all the fish can be fried or grilled which is a plus,chips,salad or boiled potatoes so health conscious people can relax. Friendly service from a chirpy waitress. Good value and always fresh,just what your local fish and chip shop should be.We are regular visitors to Shoreham and this is on our list of revisits.

The fish and chips were excellent, restaurant not as busy as it should be, probably as it is located at the quiet western end of Shoreham High Street just across from the Ropetackle Centre Comfortable seating and temperature, no drafty open doors The music was of a much higher standard than most restaurants and cafés too

Really disappointing. Battered squid was inedible, just batter with the tiniest ring of overcooked squid. 2 large cod came as 4 small cod with a terrible ratio of batter to fish. Halloumi fries were horrible, overcooked dry and nasty. Chips were OK. Curry sauce OK. Mushy peas OK. Delivery was good. Overall very disappointing.

I had a takeaway cod and chips and huss and chips, with their wonderful homemade tartar sauce. Delicious food! Great service, and I will most certainly be back for more. Would definitely recommend 👌

Best Fish and Chips ive ever had

Amazing take away tonight, 2 med cod's and chips (which were huge!) and a battered sausage and chips (heaps of them) plus mushy peas. Kindly dropped to us whilst we had a drink next door. Fresh, hot, lovely !

Perfect chips served hot ,beautifully cooked fish and no greasy batter

Georgies is a traditional English cafe. Cheap and cheerful, friendly service. Sandwiches £2, £3 for a panini. Traditional ham, egg & chips type menu. If you want a basic but good value meal without frills and fuss, and not part of some fancy chain that has to pay shareholders, then go to Georgies.

Great local fish and chip shop with a large variety of options in terms of fish. The lady at the till was very welcoming and made us feel at home. We left nothing on our plates everything was delicious. Normally when I go to chippys the food is incredibly greasy and heavy, ropetackle was the opposite and felt more palatable. The oil is definitely changed regularly and chips made fresh. I've been a customer here for a few years now when I come visit friends in Brighton. I will definitely keep coming here and really recommend this place 👍

Had always been great, down the years and as it had been some time, thought we'd try again. Wish I hadn't...the fish needed ringing out and even then, was full of oil as you'll see from the pics. Forgot to look at TripAdvisor before ordering. Seems that it's been taken over. Safe to say, based on this, we won't be trying again any time.. The savaloy had a big split down it too. Horrible.

We've ordered fish and chips for delivery from Ropetackle many, many times and have never been disappointed. Even when they have to contend with queuing traffic due to major long term road works on Brighton Road, Lancing - the food always arrives piping hot. Perfectly white fish, fantastic batter and triple cooked chips - what's not to like. First class food and a first class delivery service.

I order from ropetackle fish&chips shop last night. I order a big order that costed over £40. The person who took my order was rude, no customer service what so ever, The food was cold and hard, wasn't even worth the money that I spent but wasted! Also forgot my daughter drink that was supposed to come with her kids meal. I'm absolutely disgusted how I was treated on the phone but also that the food was cold & didn't even taste nice! I will not be coming back to order again after wasting money on disgusting food and the being spoken to like a piece of rubbish.

Had a lovely lunch here. The food was delicious- freshly cooked and generous portions. Service was quick - staff were friendly and very helpful. Hope we can return at some point!

Cannot praise this restaurant highly enough. Superb fish with golden batter that isn’t too thick, lovely crisp chips all served with lemon wedges and tartare sauce. The staff are attentive and friendly and everything is spotless. Highly recommended

What a great restaurant/take away! Beer on tap is Poretti (Italian lager) and San Miguel. Stylish interior to sit or outside weather depending. Only had chips but treated nicely and enjoyed the food!

Used to be amazing worth travelling to but last nights was so disappointing all 3 of us didn’t enjoy the chips were very poor instead of the super crispy ones they used to be, halloumi very dry Maybe new owners??

We like to come over to shoreham for a walk along the house boats and to come here for fish and chips. These are the best fish and chips ever always so fresh and piping hot. The curry sauce is amazing,husband loves it because he can have a beer with them to.

The service was a little slow, and to be honest, the camera club that I am part of descended on them without warning, so it was understandable really. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was lovely. I had cod and chips, which were very fresh, and I wouldn't hesitate to come here again.

This place lacks the vital ingredient for any successful food outlet; Consistency. Sometimes its OK, sometimes it's bad. Not worth the gamble at 10 Quid for fish and chips.

First time getting food from here. We had Haddock, American burger, chips and chicken nuggets and Sticky toffee puddings Quality was brilliant, food arrived home hot. Burger was great, fish was fresh and desert went down well. We will definitely be back

I was really disappointed ordered two portions of chips and then we were made to wait while they fulfilled a larger order made by someone that arrived after us. When we did finally get our chips and gravy that cost over £8 they were cold and the gravy was lumpy. The shop itself looked really nice and was clean but I don't think customer service was their strong point.

The worst service ever , they want charge for everything, when he took the order he said chips and lemon , ketchup is included i didn't get any of it and I pied extra for chips and ketchup, I don't recommend this place they will rip you off .

Great batter and health conscious servings, e.g. wrapping fish separately in take away so oil doesn't get into chips. Home made tartar sauce, excellent chips, best in Shoreham!

Lovely meal in a friendly cafe.

The best in Shoreham for us! Everyone has a favourite Fish and Chips takeaway, and this is ours. The breaded haddock is enormous, with mountains of chips and always hot. Collection is easy, although delivery is available.

Good points: Fresh tasting, well cooked. Chips with a nice, slightly crisp coat; fish juicy and crisp light batter. Bad points: High prices - exacerbated by extra charges for sauces Yucky toilets with broken hand dryer VERY slow service

Customer service was very bad and unfriendly. Wouldn't go there again.

What a shame, we were so looking forward to a good chip supper having seen all the good reviews, - Great staff, clean premises but the cod tasted stale, dry and rubbery and when you are paying £7+ for each battered cod - its not good and a waste of money - I did not even eat half of mine. Hopefully its a one off and they were at the end of their fresh fish - but afraid I will by trying the other local chippie the next time I pass through in the hope it comes closer to the 5* standard of Patcham Fish & Chips Shop

Absolutely loved the Ropetackle Fish & Chips! Went out to enjoy some fish & chips take away by the sea, on this lovely evening. And, discovered this place! Wow! Got some haddock and chips to share, which was amazingly good. The best fish and chips I've had, for a long time!!! The food was perfectly hot. The batter was super light and, the chips were crispy with fluffy. Not at all greasy. Really good. Highly recommend. Would definitely go there again. Best chips in town, possibly any town! Everything else is really good too.

A happy return to Ropetackle Fish and Chips, now with the possibility of enjoying it inside. Service is so attentive and staff are relaxed, yet mindful. Highly recommend it!!!

Best chipper in Shoreham, definitely not cheapest but super quality.
