Waites over 2 hours delivery time kept getting pushed back salad was awful nothing on it barely all food was freezing cold awful

Careful where you sit, certain areas a very cold

We had the butchers block and it was fantastic

The food is good but nothing special. The atmosphere is a bit 60s+. The service is classic, the same smile, whatever you say.

We were impressed before we arrived with your gluten free options, especially foods that you would expect to contain gluten (batter, sticky toffee pudding). Caren was very informative and educated about our options and made sure we were happy before ordering and checked on us throughout.

Such a lovely place to celebrate a birthday. We had such a fab family meal. Can’t wait to come back ☺️

Nice visit for my Mother's 96th birthday with family. Everything was just fine and the food excellent. Really enjoyed the occasion. Staff made sure we had an excellent visit.

First time going to this restaurant, food and service was absolutely fantastic, only drawback was that we was seated next to the through way which felt crowded and could not really enjoy the ambience, but would still recommend going to this restaurant.

Friendly and attentive service. The food was beautiful, tasty, cooked to perfection and good sized portions. Overall the meal was great value for money as we had the 3 course special treat offer. The ambience of the restaurant was very calming and the whole dining experience was wonderful. Thank you.

We had a lovely meal here a month ago, the staff were excellent, we went at 4.30pm it wasn't very busy to start but got very busy as time went on it was an excellent meal. We'll be back again soon.

We had a really nice meal the food was really nice but the service made our evening. We were served by Flo who was amazing, she was very attentive, really friendly and constantly made sure we were ok even though it was busy. Would definitely recommend

My partner and I had some Christmas vouchers so we treated ourselves to a lovely Sunday lunch. I had the chicken and my partner had steak, and the creme brulee for pudding. The food was delicious, served hot and made to such a consistently good standard. But our trip was really made by how attentive, helpful and friendly our waiter, Ellis, was. I mentioned when booking online that I was hard if hearing and when we arrived we were sat in the quieter side of the restaurant which I was grateful for. We had queries about using the Miller & Carter app for the first time, and using my NHS discount, and Ellis was so patient and happy to be there. It was such a lovely meal had and our experience overall was just a wonderful one. Thank you Ellis and team!

Very rude older blond lady seemed to have a chip on her shoulder as soon as we walked in, very unapproachable, she was on the reception table maybe keep her out of sight as her attitude spoilt our evening. The young lad serving us was lovely and the food was great just a shame for the start of the evening was spoilt by her.

Service exceptional but food just OK. My steak was fatty and desert portion was tiny. Disappointed at spending £170 won't be rushing back .

It was Christmas Eve and busy yet the staff were brilliant, calm and so helpful! They could have been quite stressed but you wouldn’t have known! Thank you to the staff for making our Xmas eve meal so easy and enjoyable!! The food was delicious!

Lovely meal all in all, we were sat in the conservatory which was a little chilly due to the time of year. Sarah was out server and was warm and friendly throughout the meal despite some miscommunication with one of our dishes. Only downside to the meal was the camembert starter where both the bread and cheese came out underdone.

Came here for my husbands 40th. Food was amazing. Service was amazing. Lily was excellent very helpful and checked we was ok regularly. Excellent customer service. Lovely to deal with. We will definitely be returning. Thank you

We had a wonderful Christmas lunch with family gathering from far and near. The food was excellent - superb - surroundings delightful - but what made it perfect was the outstanding attention we were given by Karen. Nothing was too much trouble. Her calm and professional attention to detail in what was a mega busy lunch time - making us feel as if we were the only people she was looking after - was amazing! ! And will become part of our family happy memories. Thank you Karen - and Miller and Carter!

We had a lovely meal for two at Miller and Carter in Lancing. The whole experience was great, from the delicious food to the amazing service from our server Bea. Me and my partner would highly recommend to our friends and family.

Had a fantastic time at this Miller and Carter! Felt extremely welcomed even just before the chaos that is Christmas. The lovely Bea made us laugh and answered all of our questions with the change of menu and gave recommendations to help. She made sure our drinks were ordered super quick and the food was delicious! 10/10!

The second and last time we will go to Miller and Carter, my husband loves steak and had the 10 ounce fillet,my husband counted his chips he had about eight. I'm not a steak lover so I opted for the lamb and asked for well done. It wasn't bad. If I'd known it was coming in thick chunks. I would've asked to have it sliced thinner, my choice; it was so chewy.. It came with dauphinoise potatoes(.tiny but nice), and tender-stem broccoli, which I found unusual in that the stem appeared raw, (could not even cut it) and the broccoli was obliterated. there was no broccoli,no greenery! I do wish I'd taken a photo but, we were with friends and I didn't want to make fuss, later my friend who had the same as me agreed and she too, didn't want to make a fuss. Who in the kitchen? prepared my plate and let it go out looking like it did? It is so busy in there I don't think anybody is overseeing food at the pass! .. My husband's steak,? He said, It was nice he said, but there was something brown and deep-fried on his plate which I can only describe as an overcooked potato Rossti. He could not get his fork into it, we turned it over. It was even harder I'm pretty sure, that had been sitting somewhere keeping hot for way too long.. He also ordered a side of garlic mushrooms? No trace of any garlic! they were tiny shiny mushrooms that looked as though they came out of a tin? Absolutely tasteless. Our friends had one bottle of red wine and my husband and I had a drink each, no starters no dessert over £200! We were never going back to Miller and Carter after having château Brian for anniversary in April we requested just pink NO Blood , it bled all over the plate and we couldn't eat it. The manager offered us a free dessert or something. They don't realise that coming back to ask" how it is? "too late " to do anything!! Once you start eating a meal that doesn't measure up it's ruined. We were so disappointed as we loved being in there, the ambience the comfort it's a beautiful restaurant Our friends visiting from Surrey suggested we went there as it is quite near our home so we went along with it., it is so convenient to where we live we would love to dine in there more often but no, never again.. I did tell our waitress who was very '"sweet", and her reply was "oh I'm sorry I will tell them"... tell who, what? ...There's a "Harvester" down in Lancing. In comparison,The food is actually.better, ideal for a quick bite, to take the grandkids. but, somewhere like the Miller and Carter, for special occasion ,a beautiful restaurant, I expected more. Our table was in the main part of the restaurant,,I could see all the way through past what looks like the kitchen?, there was more seating! I only noticed because of the amount of brushing by us, while we were trying to eat our dinner, with coats on et cetera, heading that way and,going past what I'm sure is, the" pass!" I saw,there, one member of staff, handing out the food from there,!, surely, people in outdoor clothes passing that area whilst food is coming out, possibly, 20/30 people maybe more, ? Can't be right

We arrived for drinks before our table. Josh on the bar helped served us and was friendly and accommodating. Caitlan or waitress was amazing. She is explained every dish to us and helped us with all our needs and questions. Another amazing visit ! Thank you miller and Carter lancing as always!!

Returned to the Miller & Carter Lancing for another good experience. Caren our waitress looked after us very well and was very thorough in checking our dietary requirements and allergies. Even though we had gone through the allergy menu ourselves, she went out of her way to double check things which we greatly appreciated.

I have to say the complete meal was fantastic. All 3 courses were 10/10. The service provided by Caren was without exception the best I have encountered in years. She should train others.

Always had a lovely meal here but last night I had to send my steak back because it was not cooked to my preference, this took a while and I was then the only person eating as my friend had finished her meal. The new steak was still not cooked medium well.

There was a warm and friendly greeting and we were given the dining options after being directed to a comfortable table within the restaurant. The place was busy, however the service was timely and we were not rushed. The food was delicious, as we expected, another pleasant dining experience. Bea, our server was very attentive and friendly from the time we arrived until we left the restaurant.

The place to go to for steaks. However,it is just my personal taste, but the "Award winning" ribeyes can be hit or miss regarding gristle and fat content running through them. I've had excellent ones, but I've also had ones that I've spent ages dissecting a lot of unappetising, endlessly chewable sections out of. Everything else, sirloin, rump and especially fillet cuts are terrific. Such a shame that they're following the increasing trend of becoming a mainly draught lager pub/restaurant, with just Neck Oil on tap, which is in the style of the lightweight American IPA beers that have flooded the market. This is Sussex, for heaven's sake..... let's have some Harvey's, Longman, Dark Star brews, or even London based breweries like Fullers, at a stretch.

I took 32 members of a Wine Appreciation U3A group for our Christmas Dinner - only 2 were disappointed, but 30 thought it was a great meal, great service and would come back again!
