Just had a lovely take away lunch, salmon tart, lemon drizzle cake and Victoria sponge (yummy) easily ordered by telephone and collected Covid safely. Always good food and friendly staff, even in these strange times. Thank you for continuing to keep offering your services.

Last but one day before lockdown again, and Sarah and the team served us a delicious high tea in a very covid secure pod, with the opportunity to browse the gift shop for those lovely, different purchases for Christmas. A special couple of hours in a place that is always special, even in these difficult times. You have worked so hard, and have managed to maintain the atmosphere and customer experience you are so renowned for. Always smiling, professional and nothing is too much. Thank you so much from us all. Keep ticking over with your take aways, until we can come back again.

Fantastic value and catered for my gluten free diet with ease. Usually I get packet cakes but these were home baked including an amazing scone. The rest of the group had amazing food too.

We regularly visit the tea room and have also used the take out service now provided. I also booked the tearoom to hold my baby shower at early this year. Each and every time we have visited the service and homemade food has been exceptional. It is a firm favourite and we would recommend to all. Nigel, Sarah and their staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and cater for your needs. The gift shop within the tea rooms is also a lovely addition and has some beautiful pieces!

Absolutely love this tea room. Soo lovely, local and sweet. Amazing little shop at the back. Everything to eat is homemade. A special treat I look forward to returning to every year.

I contacted the Brewery Tea rooms when I needed to make arrangements for my mum's funeral. I wanted to have "high tea" after the service and Sarah could not have been more accommodating. She recommended the quantity and variety of food and I was absolutely delighted with the final spread. From the finger sandwiches, rolls and mini cakes to the generously sized scones with jam and clotted cream, everything was delicious and presented to a high standard. She even provided lovely china for our tea and coffee so we wouldn't have to use disposable cups and plates. I would thoroughly recommend the Brewery Tea Rooms.

Exceptional. The Tea Room is a must for anyone visiting the Village. Due to lockdown we haven’t been able to take as many friends to the Tea Room as we usually do but we still visit as often as we can.The staff are amazing and the service is incredible. The homemade cakes and coffee are a must.A real asset to our Village.

Went here today for the first time. Be very careful. Nothing is priced, you do not know what you are paying for anything until you actually go to pay, then they don't tell you, just hand you the card machine. We had a cup of tea (in a paper cup), a cup of Latte (in a paper cup) and one fruit scone with jam and butter. We were charged £11.95!!I don't mind paying a little over the odds for these sort of places, you expect it, but this is plain extortion.

My first visit was a couple of years ago, but when I found myself in the area again I definately wanted to visit.Seating is outside and every Covid measure is being taken to keep everyone safe, so do visit! Small businesses such as this need support in these difficult times.We had cheese scones and coffee, both were great.

We received a very warm welcomed from Sarah and Nigel , we sat outside in the sunshine . At these very difficult times we felt safe and well looked after . Care was taken in every way possible . We enjoyed a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel , a Brie and cranberry panini and a specially made ham sandwich for my husband . Followed by most important cake !! all was delicious . We will be back very soon .,

Ordered a "Gin and Tonic" cake from the lovely Sarah and Nigel at The Brewery Tea Rooms for our daughter's 30th birthday. The effort and detail put into the cake to make it extra special was second to none. Thank you Sarah and Nigel for making a lovely day very, very special, Thank you.

I ordered my 92 &86 year old father and mother in law , an afternoon tea for Fathers Day . When I called they had sold of slots for Sunday so we picked it up and surprised them on Saturday instead . My Father in law loved loved loved it and is still talking about it now , it lasted then two days as well so doubly happy . All the food was fresh it was beautifully presented and ready to collect when we arrived . Cannot recommend this highly enough .

We ordered afternoon tea to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. Spoke to Nigel and placed my order, with a few specific requests.The order for nine adults and two children arrived on time ! The sandwiches and cakes were absolutely delicious, all needs catered for . We had a lovely day with one of the best high teas in our garden. I ordered a take away birthday cake for my Daughters 40th birthday, it is her favourite carrot cake, as she eaten it before on previous visits to the tea rooms.I must say that Sarah makes the most wonderful cakes!, it made my daughters birthday perfect.Thank you Sarah x

I recently used the call and collect service and was very impressed with the professionalism as well as the safety procedures that the tea rooms currently have in place. When I arrived, I was asked to collect my scones from the back entrance which I had no trouble in finding thanks to the brilliant sign posting. Once at the correct entrance, my order was passed to me through a hatch in the panel by a member of the friendly team. The food itself was spectacular, and the service was excellent, highly recommended.

The best tea room and it is absolutely stunning!! With a lovely gift shop at the back of the tea shop along with amazing home cooked food and cakes - it’s the place to go with family or friends or even just to pop along for a coffee. Sarah and her team go out of their way to make you feel most welcome and their charity events are amazing! We are so lucky to live in Walkern to have this little gem just next door! If you haven’t been - definitely go along but book first as it’s always busy!

I just read a rather poor review of the Brewery Tea rooms and felt I just had to say I couldn't disagree more! I found the staff very welcoming, warm and friendly, the food was delicious and unusually for an afternoon tea, there were plenty of sandwiches! In fact I couldn't finish all the cakes which is unheard of for me! Overall absolutely delicious and I will be booking again soon!

What a fantastic place to visit. Myself and a friend had afternoon tea today which we booked in advance. We opened the front door to find this fabulously quaint, quintessentially English tea room. I was taken aback by the gorgeous decor, atmosphere, warmth, lovely little touches here and there, what I would aspire to be if I could have a place like this. Our afternoon tea did not disappoint us, a selection of savoury finger sandwiches, various cakes and of course the most decadent home made scones, pure bliss. The staff, well what can I say, welcoming, so friendly, attentive and caring, introduced themselves to us and even asked if this was a celebration visit. Just pure pleasure, nothing was too much trouble. I can't wait to take my Mum so she can experience what we did today. Highly recommend this fantastic tea room, I can not praise it enough, you must visit, make sure you book in advance, places like this get busy and so they should with their excellent 5* food and service. The tea rooms are a delight to behold, just what you could imagine it would be. Food is good but nothing special and the staff can be a bit short. My real reason for the score is that on any given day an awful lot of the tables are reserved so if you visit a lot of the time I have had to walk out again. Don't go there before school kicks out as a lot of mums go in for coffee. Although I live in the village I and many others I know have stopped using it and go elsewhere.

I kept hearing about the afternoon tea at The Brewery Tea Room and eventually booked it as an early valentine treat for my husband. We are a fan of afternoon tea and have been to lots of different ones in London and this was easily as good if not better than some. You have to pay in advance because the cakes are made fresh and the were really good, the scones were amazing and the sandwiches were lovely. We've already booked to go back for lunch, we saw some people having lunch and the food looked lovely. The service is great and so friendly, all in all nothing to complain about and highly recommended.

My friend and I visited the tearoom for the first time recently and we both thoroughly enjoyed it! The food and tea were amazing, the atmosphere was so welcoming and friendly and the staff were absolutely lovely! Will definitely come back!

Well what can I say... staff where super friendly and massively accommodating for my girlfriend who is gluten free. The food was impeccable especially Judy’s Bombay pie!. They where very busy but still made time for us and we didn’t feel neglected at all. Overall I had a fabulous experience at walkern tea rooms and if you haven’t been you’re definitely missing out and should go now!!

This cafe is a great place to meet a friend for coffee or take the grandchildren. The cakes are amazing and you can also get a nice lunch which includes delicious homemade soup. The addition of a small shop full of well priced trinkets and bags etc also makes the visit. Love it.

My wife and I came across the Brewery Tea Rooms purely by chance - we had gone to Walkern to the 'World of Christmas' which was a huge let down, after which we decided to see what else was around locally. Wow we sure are glad we did, the welcome we got, the service and the food are second to none. An extremely friendly atmosphere, and all of the staff with a smile on their face! We highly recommend a visit - and we will definitely be back!

I loved this tearoom. Everything that has been written about it is true and even so it exceeded my expectations. It is quaint and quirky, small and friendly, cheap but quality. The service is wonderful. The staff look as if they really enjoy working there. The food and drinks were lovely. This hidden gem soon gets filled up so would recommend booking. I will certainly be making a return visit. Other establishments can learn a lot from this super place.

What a wonderful place to visit. The atmosphere, the people, the food ... a truly immersive experience. The gift shop also adds to the charm. Called and managed to get a table for the same day. The tea room was busy but we had plenty of space and the table service was prompt so no problems. Would visit again definitely.

Myself and 6 other members of my family went here for afternoon tea to celebrate my upcoming wedding. Extremely welcoming waitresses, a good choice of tea and coffee and tasty sandwiches, cakes and pastries. You get lots too - we had to ask for 'doggy bags' to take some home! Would like to make afternoon tea here a regular thing. Thank you Brewery Tea Rooms for a lovely afternoon - the perfect place for a relaxed, civilised Hen Party.

Upon arrival at The Brewery Tea Rooms, my wife and I were welcomed warmly by the staff members and taken to the table which we had booked in advance. There was lots of choice on the menu and we ordered lunch with a cake each for pudding - the halloumi salad was particularly delicious!

The place is lovely, service very nice and friendly and the food is really good. If you would like to have a real Italian espresso or cappuccino this is the right place for you!

Not sure whether to say this place is a little gem or a diamond find! Had afternoon tea and loved it. The staff were so attentive and they went out of their way to attend to our special dietary needs ...with great results. The tea rooms are quirky and like a treasure trove of gifts and clothes and all things desirable! Enjoyed every minute as well as the excellent food. Thank you Brewery Tea Rooms, look forward to a return visit. We parked in the street very close by with no charge.

Lovely tea room excellent service have bought many of my friends here and they all love it. Its really nice pleasant atmosphere. Food is amazing all fresh homemade. Staff are really lovely and friendly. The little shop at the back selling lots of really nice different bits especially good for gifts. Real treat whenever I go I thoroughly enjoy it.

I visited these tearooms today with my 2 friends and we are all agreed that the food and drinks were delicious and it was a lovely place to sit and chat.

Me and my friends visited The Brewery for the first time - it’s out of the way abit but it’s in a lovely quite area and very spacious inside. The ladies where very welcoming and sweet. The hot chocolates are amazing you can choose from milk, white or dark hot chocolates with marshmallows and a flake. The teas are made with fresh loose tea leaves which taste much better than standard teas - your spoilt for choice with tea they have a HUGE selection. The homemade Victoria sponge was very yummy - very spoilt for choice with the cake selection. They have a little gift shop at the back which sell some little quirky gifts or if your looking for something abit different. The prices are very reasonable and would defiantly coming back. They have a tip jar and instead of it going to the staff it goes to charities which is a lovely idea. Highly recommend

What a lovely place to visit. In a quiet tree lined street. You can book afternoon tea in advance or just pop in like we did. We had a panini and sandwich served with side salad and home made coleslaw. Great cakes and scones. We had a cherry and almond scone served warm with clotted cream and jam, also chocolate cake and a giant lemon gooey meringue served with clotted cream. Worth a visit and we will be coming again for a cream tea

Visited The Brewery Tea Rooms today with a friend & my mother who has recently had a hip replacement so one of her first outings.

We were fortunate to have a late light lunch here as we hadn't pre-booked. As always the team were welcoming and charming and the food was delicious in this delightful tea room.

Although a very busy lunch time Sarah and her staff made us very welcome as always .

Great time last night at a special curry night put on by Sarah, Nigel and their excellent team. Lovely food and great atmosphere.

I celebrated my birthday with vegan afternoon tea (which you need to book in advance). The range of different sandwiches was fantastic and each one tasted delicious. The scone and the raspberry crumble were the highlight for me, however everything tasted simply amazing.

We have been here many times and are drawn back by the fabulous cakes, great coffee,very friendly staff and the wonderful ambience of this excellent Tearoom! The shop at the back is full of interesting,pretty gifts for any occasion and well worth a look! On our visit this time we were seated on the very elegant sofa and enjoyed our coffee and delicious brownies in perfect comfort! We’ll definitely be coming back!

This was my first visit and I had a wonderful time in this unexpected and lovely tea room in Walkern. The sandwiches were very tasty and fresh and the ham and redcurrent was wonderful. Beautiful fresh bread with traditional fillings with a nice twist. The cakes were plentiful and well made and the scones were a nice size with plenty of jam and cream. There was a good choice of tea and I enjoyed the top up. The staff were lovely, friendly and welcoming. We sat near the door at a lovely small table and my double seat was very comfortable. The restaurant was quite busy but I didn’t feel cramped in any way and it felt quite spacious. I’m guessing that lunch here would be really lovely too looking at the menu. Booking is recommended. It was nice to be able to take away the leftover cakes in the readily available bag and paper plate.

Attended the tea room which is quite small and therefore noisy when at full capacity. Although every member of staff we encountered was friendly, we were a little disappointed with the lack of food options. We were given a menu which basically referred us to the specials board but the specials board also did not clarify what was on offer specifically that day. Therefore at time of ordering the server runs through what they have which feels a little pressured as I like to take my time and look at the menu to decide what I want. The chalkboard could be updated daily? There was no mention of a certain dish I ordered but as I had overheard the staff talking about it and another dish (also not mentioned) behind the counter I was able to ask for this myself. It would also be great if milkshakes were added to the menu. ‘Flavoured milk’ was on the menu but the server seemed surprised and said they don’t think this was something they do anymore. We did also find the items a little overpriced. The cakes and scones etc certainly looked lovely and fresh but unfortunately our overall experience did not meet expectations and it also took a long time to pay. The tea room was a little out of our way and therefore we probably would not return based on our visit. Also surprised at the managements response to any review left with less than 5 stars. I feel the reviews with less than five stars have been fair and also reflective of my own visit.

Very friendly, welcoming staff. We booked a table for 12noon but they had already sold out of many things. The coffee was good, but served in very tiny tea cups, so not good value. The tea room and shop are both very small and cramped, the place was noisy, so hard to talk. The food was limited, but tasty. It’s in close proximity to Bennington Lordship, so convenient for lunch prior to a visit there. Maybe on a quieter day it would have been more relaxing. We really liked the enthusiasm of the staff, but the tearoom either needs to be bigger, or they need to have fewer tables.

My favourite place for afternoon tea. I’ve been many times for lunch or afternoon tea, as well as for special occasions such as Mother’s Day and Christmas. The food is always lovely and the service friendly. They well deserve all the awards they’ve won over the years.

We booked a table for 6 afternoon tea and it was a real treat. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and Santa who was also there to greet us. The tearoom was buzzing with all tables taken, so booking prior to your visit is recommended. The afternoon tea itself was a real delight and we enjoyed tastefully presented sandwiches, scones, Christmas cake and a variety of other scrumptious pastries and cakes. We were offered an array of different teas, coffees, hot chocolate and soft drinks to complement our food and these too were beautifully presented. A small shop, attached to the tea room, has many unique gift items for sale at reasonable prices and a visit to this is a delight.

The menu has lots of choice and most of it is homemade and can heartily recommend the scones and lots of the other cakes. I had fresh leaf tea, which was a pleasant change from the usual 1bag in a tea pot! all served up in a china pot with proper cups and saucers - a delight. The service was exceptional and the main room was cosy with plenty of character. Highly recommended

We were invited by friends for afternoon High Tea. A table had been reserved for us and we were seated immediately. Whilst the Tea Rooms were full and busy, it was warm and welcoming and we had a lovely reception by the staff who explained everything and took our orders. The Tea with Sandwiches, Scones and Cakes arrived and was both plentiful and delicious. Sadly we could not eat it all but on leaving were provided with 'doggy bags' . All the staff were happy, friendly and professional. Highly recommended

Everything about this afternoon tea was lovely. The sandwiches were wonderfully moist and delicious (especially the cucumber + mint ones). The scones were fresh and the cakes were to die for.

Visited with my mum . We both loved the tea room . Lemon cake delicious and my mum thought it was nicest coffee she had ever had . Small shop with lots of interesting homeware . This wonderful tea room is in a small village called Walkern minutes from Stevenage town center. Fresh home made sandwiches fabulous home made scones with jam and cream and just super lovely cakes and many teas to choose from to. I had been before and just thought and said this is how afternoon should be a wonderful experience so i brought friends back and they just loved every moment. The service and the staff are the very best your get, plus they have a great little gift shop selling all sorts of bits and not over priced at all. If you enjoy afternoon tea please have a drive out to this wonderful tea rooms remember you may have to book.

I was in the area and following a quick search on Trip came across this lovely tea room.

We went with friends as a treat for High Tea. We were greeted on arrival and shown to our table. Everything was clearly explained and we felt very relaxed. All the food was freshly prepared, with interesting fillings in the sandwiches. Our friends are vegetarian, and their sandwiches too were equally delicious. Scones and cakes were very light. There was just the right amount of food for our party. A large variety of leaf teas to choose from too. We also liked the way all gratuities went to local charities as their way f giving back to the community. We also had a look around their enchanting shop. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and would definitely go there again.

Have been here before for cakes and lunch but always fancied trying the full afternoon Tea with bubbles for two. Luckily we got a gift voucher for Xmas and finally got to use it today. Had the most amazing experience, wonderful food and drink and as always, pleasant and friendly staff and hosts. Everything was fresh, nicely presented, and individual to us. We will be returning again very soon.

A group of 9 of us booked for a lunchtime catchup session. The food was wonderful, reasonably priced, a lovely atmosphere with fabulous service. They even managed to tailor each persons bill without a fuss, highly recommended.

Very enjoyable afternoon tea, good selection of drinks for tea and non tea drinkers. The variety of sandwiches and cakes was pleasing, although I'm not a fan of white bread and would of preferred something more tasty as the sandwich fillings were delicious.

Having had afternoon tea at the Tearoom before, for my wife’s birthday I planned a return to the Brewery Tearoom for surprise reunion over afternoon tea for her and 3 of her friends.

Welcomed with a very warm and friendly smile, and shown to our table. They were very patient as one of our party is a gentleman who is a very slow walker. The service was very exceptional and the food was very well presented and very fresh....... overall a very enjoyable visit...... well done to all the staff

My cousins from the US came over and wanted to do afternoon tea. I considered taking them somewhere in London, but thought maybe a small place in Hertfordshire maybe nicer.

Had a fantastic afternoon tea today. The Vegan tea was the best we have had with thought having been clearly given in what to provide. Two of the party had regular tea which they said was wonderful. Superb atmosphere with friendly, attentive staff . Would defintely recommend a visit and we will be going back.

Well, let me tell you good folk what a wonderful hidden pearl of a tea room the Brewery Tea rooms is in Walkern Village with top-notch lunches, cakes and beverages and an even more top-notch service to go with it!

Best afternoon tea ever - plus warm and wonderfully friendly service, very helpful and ensured our not too mobile Mums had a lovely time - thank you! Gorgeous fresh sandwiches and I dont think I can describe the cakes well enough to reflect how good they were, together with the decor, china and music - perfect all round.

My wife and I have cycled past this place loads of time but never stopped until today. They have very friendly staff, good coffee, a huge range of teas and some fine food.

I took my daughter here for a Vegan afternoon tea and it could not have been nicer. The tea rooms is so pretty inside and out, the afternoon tea was tasty and we couldn’t believe it was all vegan as it isn’t easy to find good vegan food outside of London. The Ladies looking after us could not have been sweeter! What lovely people. We purchased a few items from the lovely little gift area also which are gorgeous and well priced . Thank you so much for a lovely couple of hours . We also enjoyed the Bloom Gin with Roae lemonade outside in the sun. We will be back and I will be recommending to my friends

Just looking at it from the outside it looks just so charming and once one gets inside its even more charming, just how a country tea room should be like. We took there full afternoon tea with a bottle of Prosecco when it was delivered it looked just great. The mixed sandwiches were just great very tasty and plenty the scones wow amazing one could tell they were home cooked delicious and then the wonderful home made cakes. I love my afternoon teas in London this is as good if not better than a London five star hotel and all home cooked. They also have a super lovely shop at the back for gifts and bits you must take a look. The food the service and the attentive staff is so so worth visiting i will definitely be back very soon.

Brewery Tearooms is an absolute gem of a place with a delicious selection of food, a friendly team of staff and a wonderful selection of gifts to purchase for all occasions. I have introduced many friends to this venue and they all love it. Had a lovely lunch there earlier in the week with 2 of my girls, a much needed break from revision and today a leisurely catch up over lunch. If you plan to go at popular times I suggest you book to ensure you are not disappointed! See you again soon.

We treated my mum to high tea on a low table and it was absolutely fantastic. We loved the look of the vintage tearoom it was so homely and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and tentative. The amount of sandwiches and cakes was maybe a little more than we expected but we made our way through them all. This tearooms high tea is very good value for money and tasted amazing. I loved the cucumber and mint sandwich never thought of that combination before but it works so well. The cakes well what can I say but we are all going to the gym tomorrow to work them off. Overall I can't tell you how happy we all were with our high tea, we will be coming back and recommending friends and family to visit this amazing tearoom.
