Quirky venue with great cocktails, delicious food and friendly service. Went out of their way to cater for a severe nut allergy. Will return.

Hard to rate because of the food . Welcome was great service was good. Starters were brought out before the drinks so not great also the food arrived too quickly My starter of crab was kind of average served on undressed rocket. Some elements of my Lamb dish were very good though the meat croquettes were intensely salty. My partners burger was dry and and very average in meat quality and taste. Its a lovely place to be, great atmosphere,and decor but im struggling to find a reason to return because of the food

We popped in just for a snack and a drink to avoid the rain whilst exploring the area. Several cocktails later, and a reservation for dinner the following evening and we are smitten! Staff are knowledgeable about the menu, chefs are clearly passionate about their produce and owners/managers are clearly leading well creating a friendly culture which is visible at the front of house. The owners clearly have a passion for delivering a high standard and are very complimentary of similar businesses in the area. The food is divine and the atmosphere is very welcoming. For an open plan space it does well to make you feel you have your own private space. I am very much looking forward to the next step for this Plymouth gem.

We arrived a little early, but this was no problem, and we were shown straight to our table. The atmosphere was good. We enjoyed three courses and a bottle of wine. Our waitress Ines was lovely. She was polite and attentive with a beautiful smile. All of the food was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be going back.

Visited today for afternoon tea, nice atmosphere and very good service .Prosecco, sausage rolls , variety of sandwiches , possett ,cakes , chocolates , scones ,jam ,cream and pots of tea.very fresh food and nicely presented. So much food we had to box some to take away .good value for money .

Great decor, delicious food and upscale atmosphere. For starters we recommend the truffle blue cheese and chestnuts beignets and pan seared scallops that were really full of flavor. We will definitely be back!

Love the venue and vibe. Staff were very pleasant. Wine list excellent. Food was disappointing. Had the seafood sharing platter which was pricey but sounded exciting. However the lobster tails were inedible (chewy & cold) the squid and prawns were overcooked. Brought this to staffs attention during meal (not afterwards). No reduction in price or complementary drink - which is disappointing. Love the venue - great for drinks but avoid the food. This venue is seriously close to other fabulous restaurants.

Nicely designed building, good location. Very attentive service. Food was good standard, we had the Christmas menu. Tasty and generous portions. Will go again.

Visiting from Cyprus and friends suggested here. More expensive than we’d usually go for, but the food was good and drinks reasonable compared to some places. What really made the night great were the team, so friendly and helpful and obviously enjoyed their work. We shall start saving now for the next time we’re over.

I had family members down for the weekend and wanted to take them to the barbican. I have been here a few times before, so I knew it was good. 3 of us had the ribeye steak , 2 had duck breasts, and 1 had cornish cod. One of the ducks was a bit tough, but steaks and cod were good.lovely desserts, chocolate fingers, and creme broulie. My family wete impressed and we all had a lovely evening.The restaurant is a quirkey place, a former warehouse, a bit wine bar a bit bistro, which makes it interesting and unusual.The waitresses Kate and leah were very helpful as usual as were the rest of the servers.Would recommend this eatery to anyone visiting The Barbican,Plymouth.

We ate at the Bottling Plant last Saturday. What a pleasure! The place has a wonderful, eclectic atmosphere. It was fun just to gaze around at all the curios and artworks. We dined a la carte. Staff were friendly and enthusiastic, willing to respond and adapt to varying the set menu, and when the food arrived, it was beautifully presented and delicious. All told, a highlight of our visit to Plymouth, and somewhere we'll definitely visit in future.

Very good service. The starters (crab and scallops) were really nice. The scallops were very small though(the only reason for not giving a 5 overall). Mains were fab. Parents loved the homemade pork pie on the ploughman’s platter.

This is a spacious well laid out restaurant with excellent staff. We were greeted like family.. The waitress was amazing advising us as to what wine went with what all be it just a savoury cream tea and a sweet cream tea. The cheese scone was the best we have ever tasted (one of the party is in her 80’s). They were light and flavoursome.If you want a great atmosphere, fabulous food and attentive staff go here. 5 star treatment at its best.

Beautiful surroundings, the place is lovely our server was first class! The menu is limited but nice, I had the burrata to start which I must say was exceptional. All our party had the beetroot and goats cheese main, even though it was beautiful it lacked something. We suggested crostini or bread which they took on board , it needed a different texture. Overall a lovely meal !

Such a shame!!! The new menu is clearly trying draw a more up market audience and good on them for this! But….. despite the beautiful presentation and taste the portions were just farcical for the money! We know costs are increasing and that compromises are needed but £17 for a single 1inch slice of cauliflower is a push for me. It tasted beautiful and was well seasoned & presented, the puree was so smooth and the miso was well balanced but ….. I’ll let you judge for yourself from the picture. I did feed this back at the point of service and was thanked for my feedback- let’s see if this is taken on board.

We hired the Board Room for my sister’s hen do and it was excellent. The wait staff were really helpful, especially Toby who went above and beyond for us and deserves a recognition as he was a perfect host. I’ve given it four stars not five for two reasons: the menu changed between our booking and when we ordered and there ended up being only one vegan choice when before there were more. The bride is vegan so this was disappointing. Second reason was the lack of help when trying to sort the sound system - the woman who was supposed to set it up was in the room for 2 seconds and didn’t help and the man who eventually came to fix it was incredibly patronising and spent more time talking about how Apple is controlling us and how we should have Android phones rather than actually helping us sort the issue, which was less than helpful. But all round we had a good evening and it’s a nice place and well equipped for what we wanted.

Went for a Sunday roast dinner. I picked the lamb after the chef recommended it, it was the best roast dinner iv had in a very long time George should be really proud of his hard work.

Just nicely chilling, cocktail Plymouth gin - because it would be rude not to. Crab roll & just dessert. Next is the distillery visit then an early evening meal at the Barbican. Silly old me thought it referred to that place in London

We live close to Plymouth Barbican so are spoilt for choice. This afternoon we decided to have a few cocktails. We came to TBP for their offer of 2 house cocktails and planned to stay for the afternoon. However having ordered mojitos that I have to say were unlike any mojito we have tasted before and not in a good way we decided to leave them and have moved on elsewhere for the rest of our afternoon out.

Visited this characteristic bar on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. This time for a private retirement party in the upstairs room. We had 2 hard working, efficient waitresses that looked after us all night and we were never waiting long for our drinks. The food was delicious and everyone in the party enjoyed their meal. The size of the room was perfect and with a Bluetooth speaker installed we could choose our own music. I think everyone agreed that the bottling plant is the perfect place for good food, wine, good service and fun and those that hadn’t been before will definitely be going back. Tracey and Andrew’s hard work has definitely paid off. Please thank all your staff for the energy and enthusiasm that they put into looking after us and making the retirement do so special.

Always a fabulous experience, great food, beautiful family run restaurant, we love it, a must do if you are visiting Plymouth

I was invited to afternoon tea here by a friend as a Christmas gift. I've never been here before although I had heard consistently good things about it. The setting is quirky and interesting with a very relaxed atmosphere ... Service is friendly and efficient. The tea was explained to us as we sat, and we were given a "tea menu" to smell and read about before making our choices. I had opted for the 'Vegan' offering, which in itself is not widely available in all establishments ... When it arrived it was all explained carefully and it was genuinely fantastic. Very often, when choosing the veggie option of anything you are left feeling that it's just been 'put together' without much thought. This was the complete opposite ... The sandwiches had different and tasty fillings, the 'sausage roll' was divine and the scone was the lightest, fluffiest I have ever tried. I came away with an assortment of tasty sweet treats, and my friend was similarly impressed with her Omni version. Service was attentive without being oppressive and we did not feel hurried at all. Now that I have experienced The Bottling Plant I am keen to try other meals from their extensive and interesting menu.

Never been there before. Looks good inside. Service was very slow (staff were nice). Food was not good and poor value for money. Very disappointed.

Upon our arrival at the Bottling Plant, (which was empty, apart from us) I confirmed the two of us were booked for 12. The lady who checked us in, said the booking was for four people and where were the other two? I explained the booking was definitely for the two of us only. She was very abrupt and insistent that the booking was for four. What a pity I hadn't taken the email from them, confirming the booking was for two. Clearly, their staff had input our booking into their system incorrectly. She made her irritation towards us very clear. Annoying when this was their fault. We said we were happy to take a table for two, as she made such a fuss, but she said these were all reserved. (Strange, as, when we left a few hours later, no one else was in the dining area.) She seated us at a four seater table. Next, a waitress came over and read out a long list of the meals we couldn't have, as "a delivery was late and this is our first day open of the week" (This was a Wednesday.) We said we would have the sharing fish platter. Then we hear that the fryer had broken, so there would be no whitebait or squid available. When we said we would have to go somewhere else, she went to check with the kitchen. We were then told, we would have "more of the other fish and salmon" so we agreed to stay and ordered the sharing platter. This was a small one and the scallops were the smallest I have ever seen and there were only two of those. There was a very small pot of crab meat and quite a few of the mussels were closed, so not edible and they were not very warm. One very chewy lobster tail between us. There were quite a few slices of salmon and more tiger prawns - but these hadn't been cleaned and 'poo' was visible. The waitress received our constructive and polite comments after the meal very frostily. When the bill was presented, they hadn't taken off our deposit. Not an enjoyable experience. Also embarrassing for me, as I had recommended this place to my friend, as previous experiences had been ok. I still have the confirmation email, if the staff want me to pass this on. No apology was made for lack of choice on the menu, or in response to our comments about the fish platter. As the food was not up to standard and the staff were not polite, I shan't be going back there for a while.

What a super find. Worth visiting just for the ambience of the place. Even one of the grandfather clocks was on time.! Our waitress was patient, tolerant and fun. I ordered a medium steak and was a little apprehensive when I cut into it and it looked rare. In was absolutely splendid, it just melted and could not have been better. A good price too.

We just popped in for drinks and it was terrible. Took a ridiculous amount of time to make a simple gin and tonic. Staff were children who didn't care about the extremely slow service. Lovely looking place but service is appalling

What a find! We called in here last night for a cocktail on our way to another restaurant and were immediately impressed by how quirky & welcoming it felt. We really liked the eclectic mix of furnishings and decor (including Ming the Merciless). Even the toilets were a talking point! Our cocktails were delicious and the food smelled amazing - so much so that after getting to the other venue we promptly changed our minds about eating there, returning instead to The Bottling Plant with our fingers crossed that they had room for us. Thankfully they did and we had a delicious meal served by the nicest waiting staff. We loved everything about it - the seafood platters were to die for with white crab meat, lobster tails and juicy scallops being my favourite part. The fries were hot and crunchy & the Pinot Grigio was the perfect accompaniment. It was great to meet and chat to Andrew and Tracey at the end of the evening to let them know how thoroughly impressed we were with what they have & what they do. We will definitely be back!

While I generally avoid leaving negative feedback, my recent experience at the Bottling Plant left much to be desired. I attended as part of a work Christmas meal, which was priced at £25 for two courses, a fair deal for the season. However, the quality of the food fell short of expectations. My monkfish main lacked any accompanying carbs, and although others had a roast with a larger portion, the potatoes were nearly impossible to cut through. The Camembert starter consisted of small nuggets, similar to what you’d find in the frozen isle at the supermarket. Service at the bar was disappointing too. I waited about 20 minutes for a beer and had to follow up on my order, only to be told it had already been sent to my table, with an unsympathetic attitude from the staff member. Additionally, there was a particular staff member who seemed overly eager for attention, invading personal space unnecessarily and only providing service when constantly acknowledged. This behavior made the experience uncomfortable for many of us in our large group.

From start to finish it was a great experience. Shown to our table promptly, were asked when we wanted our food to be brought out. A lovely waitress checked in with us. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious and plentiful. We were there on a works Christmas Meal. We were all impressed with the venue and how atmospheric it was. Would definitely visit again. Tracey the owner greeted us. Very impressed.

Hi firstly this place is very atmospheric and beautifully decorated inside, but unfortunately the manager is very amateurish. having booked this place on the 8 November for 4 people celebrating a birthday on the 9 December. We get told a few days before there was a computer glitch. It took them almost 4 weeks to realise this apparently. In reality, they cancelled us as they had a bigger booking. Safe to say we never be back even for drinks.

The manager Tracey is extremely rude and I really do need to warn you all not to go as your will experience will be uncomfortable and unwelcoming.

We had heard about this place and thought we’d give it a go, mistake. We were greeted by who I believe was the owner and Summarily ordered to take a seat, as it was our first, (& last), visit and didn’t know the crack, I thought that’s a bit rude, anyway we ordered our drinks, quite expensive for the quality, drank up and left.

I have no words to describe our overall experience at this Restaurant: ambience, staff and food mix in the right ratio to create this heavenly eating experience. Service at the highest standard in every respect! I would go back in a heart beat if I did not live so far away! True hidden gem!

We have visited this establishment several times for cocktails only, this time we booked to eat. We arrived earlier than booking and were just going to have a couple of drinks before however the staff moved a few things around and we were able to sit at the table and look at menu. During the whole evening the staff were brilliant, helpful and attentive (but not in a pushy way). Husband wanted a particular cocktail which wasn’t on the menu .. absolutely not a problem and at the same deal as the others on menu. The food when it arrived was delicious, the whole evening proved to be one of the best that we have had in Plymouth, and we visit at least 3 times a year. We are already planning another visit at the end of the month for my birthday.

Thoroughly enjoyed our roast lunch (one meat and one vegan). Tasty, substantial and well-presented meal, service excellent! The decor and ambience are good and the toilet facilties of a good standard. Reasonably priced. Dog friendly too. Can't wait to visit again.

We booked ahead and were initially impressed, when we arrived. Unfortunately, the service was very slow... It took over half an hour to get our drinks order and 55 minutes (!!) to get our main meals... We had to ask many times where our food...
