Coffee#1 Frome in Mendip

Everything ok, except the wifi only lets you use three websites which is really bad if you're trying to do anything - doesn't let you go to Wikipedia for example. Would be 5 stars if they remove the internet censoring for normal sites

I am not a fan of coffee chains but on New Years Day most places were closed. The staff here were all friendly and the bathroom was clean (unusual in a chain cafe!). It was a welcoming place.

Disappointing, will not be back. My mocha was luke warm and definitely one of the worse I have had, tasted like a 40p chocolate sachet mixed with hot water. Bit of a rip off when you are charged £3.85. The cafe looks grubby and the cutlery was dirty!

Called in to break our journey home after being on holiday. Sausage baps very nice, as were the tea and cappuccino. Service was slow due to them being very busy on a Saturday. Seems to be a popular place.

The coffee here is good. The toasted teacakes are huge and very tasty. Staff are welcoming and friendly.

I can't comment on the food because I didn't have any but the coffee was very good and the pleasant atmosphere was lovely. We weren't rushed and stayed talking until we were ready to leave. Will go there again.

Like all chains, the cleanliness always needs improving, hey should not become complacent. Coffees good and staff friendly.

Polite staff and a relaxing atmosphere. Popped in for a quick bite for lunch and a coffee. Went for the tuna melt and was very tasty. Would be happy to go back again.

I was passing by and decided to enter for an expresso. I went to the counter to ask for it, the till assistant told me to wait in the queue which was what I did. She then went over to her co-worker and muttered "the toned ones freak me out". As a darker European I was appalled by this racism in this day and age while just going about my day. Would not recommend the service or staff to anyone.

We really enjoy visiting coffee #1. The staff are super friendly and relaxed, the coffee is great, and the cafe has a real community feel to it.

The cake I had was good, although I went for cheese cake and they didn't have any. The coffee was good. Friendly staff and great atmosphere.

Sadly our experience was very poor. The staff just stood behind the counter chatting together - even when they served you they carried on with their chatting and didn't acknowledge you! Tables needed clearing, but this wasn't done. Will not be going back there.

Coffee good, however, 3 staff continually talking between themselves about what they'd eaten recently, whilst I stood waiting to be served. No acknowledgement to me as a customer whatsoever. Won't be going here again

Came here a few times over Xmas. Was always busy which did mean a bit of a wait. Coffee was the usual #1

Pretty much my favourite coffee house chain - great coffee, cakes, patisserie and sandwiches. Always busy in every branch I've visited and therein lies the only negative. Serving fresh coffee is the slowest and most inefficient process. Its worth the wait but at peak times, it's almost intolerable and would put off anyone with little time. Could do with one or two more stations making coffee.

Had coffee during the most recent Frome market. Was in not long after they had opened. Several staff stood behind servery but every table covered in disposable cups, floor dirty and does not appears to be cleaned. Unfortunately coffee was so poor I could not finish it. It just felt dirty and not looked after.

Love being able to sit in a coffee shop with my dog Rio. Got a bonus stamp for my gingerbread man.

Food and coffee here has always been great. The staff are very helpful, even when this place gets busy (which it does often!). Lots of options for coffee, tea, iced drinks and food. Seating here can be tight because this is a popular Coffee#1 (although there are plenty of outdoor seating options since you are so close to many different tourist attractions within Frome and are within the Westway Shopping Centre). Poor visit. Assistant manager apparently! Not doing much & drinking tea and chatting, also unaware customers were present! Drinks not hot anymore by the time food came, which I had to ask for. One guy working hard though trying to hold it all together…and all this cost £20!! 😡

Ordered 2 hot drinks and tried to order a slice of cake. The cakes that I asked for were all frozen. Why put frozen cakes out if you can't sell them. Defrosting them first would be more logical.

A regular haunt for my brother and his partner. A lovely cuppa and Welsh cake. Very popular, busy.

Panini was gorgeous. Unfortunately let down by customer service. Stood at the counter for quite a while whilst the staff were having a chin wag. Was just about to walk out . Wouldn't go there again.Shame.

I want to start on a positive note our coffees and panines were very good. However the service is dreadful, there were only 2 couples in front of us but we waited 12 minutes to be served. Not a single table had been cleared and I waited a further 5 minutes for the coffee’s. We cleared a table and waited a further 10 minutes for our food ! We only popped in for a quick break !

They offer delicious coffee with a good selection of cakes and sandwiches. Service is unbeatable. The decor inside is getting a bit drab though. Can they sand the floor and put up new tables and chairs?

We came in today to just get out of the snow, had a hot chocolate and partner had a tumeric latte. Both had a panini, which were both yummy. Staff were friendly and attentive and there was no wait at all for our food and drinks. Coffee #1 continues to be my favourite coffee shop, thanks to the team at Frome 😊

Very accommodating, permitting consumption of items bought elsewhere alongside their own fare, meaning larger groups with different tastes can eat and drink together.

Service was on slow side due to staff shortages and training. It's noisy with echo.

Buen cafe como siempre en esta cadena. Baños limpios y buena terraza con vonitas vistas y mucha tranquilidad Unico fallo que pedi leche de avena y me cobraron mas por ello y me pusieron leche normal. El personal que me toco no puso mucha atencion ni interes y hay gente que es intolerante a la lactosa por lo que estos temas hay que controlarlos y poner atencion.

They expect you to know the ingredients to go in their drinks, and get incredibly rude when you ask if someone has dairy in (for an allergy) but you didn't know it would come with drizzle - when they only asked if it meant no cream - if you have an allergy make sure you have an epipen and grill them about every. Single. Ingredient

Came here for a bite to eat on 9/09/22. Both staff members were rude, waited ages to be served. Once served the waitress was blunt, rolled her eyes at my order and forgot to get it. Once reminded I got no apology. Wouldn’t recommend this place with these staff to anyone

Our goto coffee shop. It had a nice cup of coffee, friendly staff and comfy chairs. We sometimes bring boardgames to play with our kids too (they have a selection of games you can borrow and books you can read too).

Love the coffee and the staff but when you have a 2 year old and your sat by the open window door, on a non smoking side you'd expect staff to enforce that it's non smoking even though the smoking side is having repairs, instead of siding with an angry old lady who seems to think it's okay to swear and smoke near 2 years olds. As a loyal customer I'm highly disappointed, would be less disappointed if there wasn't a bunch of various other seating options next to this cafe

Popped in to do some work so was in no rush, the staff were absolutely delightful, coffee tastes amazing - much nicer than any other high street coffee. I later found out that coffee #1 was the only coffee shop open in the town centre this day and there was a constant queue out the door! The staff were calm, efficient and despite the tricky times in hospitality at the moment absolutely smashed it; only two members of staff on shift yet there isn’t a single complaint I could make! Absolute credit to the store and the buisness😊

Wherever I visit and want a coffee ☕ my first choice is always coffee1 because I'm never disappointed the coffee is always great and hot 🔥 unlike some places I've been and its always made how I like it as is the porridge 😋 I've never had a bad experience the staff are always friendly and welcoming as we're they today what I like as well is that they're not overpriced either such a great selection of cakes and savoury too would recommend coffee1 wherever you go

A very busy Saturday morning to make my first visit. Quite a queue but a good choice of drinks and cakes on offer. I was pleased with the smoothie menu and really happy with the taste of mango pineapple and passion fruit. My family enjoyed the oatmilk flat whites and the elderflower . We had a good sized table for five of us. Two toilets available. Children's toys to play with Dogs allowed inside with a good supply of biscuits to help yourself to. I liked the decor and the history facts All in all a good experience.

Went here today and the workers turned off the grill as soon as the Manager left. I wanted a grilled sandwich but the said no, they close at 4pm, it was only 3pm. Then I ordered a coffee but they said they couldn't give me a regular cup, it had to be paper. The reason was they were not using the dishwasher anymore that day. Where is the Manager and how are these people being trained?? This place is definitely customer no service!

Always love coming here! I like the fact the friendly regular staff remember our usual order (and other peoples too). Portugese tarts always good, great latte coffee. Dont get caught in the carpark at the rear - often closes early (esp Sunday) but #1 doesnt have keys!

Lovely coffee in here! Staff were very quick to help us. The blends of coffee are delicious! Really awesome, cosy atmosphere. If in the area again we’ll definitely make a visit here!
